Goten x Bulla

Landing on the secluded, lush grounds of Capsule Corp, Goten was careful to keep his power level low. Not only did he not want to be dragged into the gravity room for an impromptu beating for not training enough by Vegeta, but Bulla had specifically warned him that her mom should not see what he had retrieved should he have been successful.

Looking around, no one was around, and it didn't seem that anyone had been alerted to his presence, but he was missing the one person that he needed. Until she flickered her ki every so slightly and softly to gain his attention. Goten would never get tired of feeling her ki wash over him like that.

Walking towards the source, around the back of one of the compound buildings, he was immediately pulled through a back door and into a garage-like building.

"Wahhh! Whatcha doooing, Bullaaa?!"

With an aggressive whisper, a younger blue-haired woman dressed in an oil-smeared lab coat spoke harshly, "Shut up, will you! Do you want us to get caught?! You know what my mom said about that Beerus guy."

Glancing over Goten's dirtied clothes, dishevelled hair, and less-than-confident demeanour, she concluded that he had been unsuccessful in his exploration again and let out a dejected sigh.

Opposite her, pulling his clothes straight after having them yanked, Goten responded, "Yeah, that's why I'm still not sure this is a good idea, Bulla. Even your dad's weird about him."

"Pfft, my dad's weird with everyone." She shrugged her shoulders as she sauntered over to her cluttered workstation. "But you know why I'm doing this; you know I've always dreamt of meeting my big, big brother." Once again, crestfallen, she walked towards the large structure she had been covertly working on for years, speaking quietly as she moved. "I just want to know that he's doing okay, especially after everything he went through. I've heard the stories."

Goten fumbled around with an object in his pocket as he watched this beautiful woman - his childhood friend and occasional confidante - wield tools with just as much precision as he did with ki. He had wrestled with what the possible outcomes may be since he discovered her little endeavour two years ago, but he had come to the conclusion that Bulla was as headstrong as her mother and she was just going to do it anyway, regardless of whether he was involved or not. At least this way, he could help, maybe protect her, do something, anything. But his father's warnings about the deities beyond suddenly became a very real concern, and he gripped the item a bit tighter. Maybe he could dispose of it and claim he never found it? Would that be enough to keep her safe? Even now, looking over at her and seeing the hint of sadness glazing her eyes, he could see her determination burning in every action - she was never going to stop.

Taking a deep breath, "Bulla?"

"Mmhmm." She didn't even look up from her tinkering on the machine.

"I didn't actually say whether I got it or not."

"Don't worry about it. There's other grids we haven't tried yet; I know it's not far from the last place that-"

As her eyes caught the stunning spectrum of refracted light dancing across the wall, she dropped her tools instantly, letting them clatter to the ground while she whirled around to see what she hoped for was the source.

The moment her gaze landed on the stunning dark blue crystal, she squealed in delight and zipped straight over to where Goten was standing. Relieving the extremely rare mineral from his grip, Bulla excitedly danced on the spot as she held it close, grateful that she would finally have the chance to realise her dream.

Goten was more than amused with her display; his smile only grew, still finding it somewhat adorable with how excitable she could be.

Turning away from him as she spun, "Goten, thank you so much! You're the best friend that anyone could ever have!"

Although he was grateful for her thanks and seeing her joy, he scoffed internally as his eyes gave away a modicum of emotion at being relegated to 'just a friend' again.

Regaining a small amount of composure, Bulla realised just how much she owed Goten. Not only for finding this crystal, but for supporting her even though he didn't wholly agree with her project, helping keep it safe from everyone who would risk derailing it or worse. He had been her number-one champion through it all. Walking back over to him with a beaming smile that refused to leave her face, she took a hold of the fabric of his jacket sleeves.

"I'm so happy and even relieved. I've waited so long; you know how much this means to me. I could kiss you right now! Thank you so much, Goten!"

He froze for a nanosecond, but to him, the whole world slowed. His eyes crawled up her face to meet her cerulean orbs, somehow they sparkled like the treasured crystal amongst the shadows of the dimly lit building. The beat of his heart reverberated throughout his body as his eyes edged lower and lower until they landed on her slightly open mouth, and he couldn't help the thoughts that trickled into his mind. The most urgent: he wondered how soft those rose-blushed lips truly were.

Without missing a beat, his mouth uttered words that had lived only in his thoughts up until this point.

"Then why don't you kiss me now?"

Reacting at speed, he pulled her into a warm, gentle, and fleeting kiss. But just as his lips had made their full contact, what felt like a hundred-tonne anvil collided with the side of his head and launched him through the wall of the garage-like building and lodged him in the wall of another building across the grassy lawn.

Immediately after striking him, Bulla squeaked and clasped her hands over her mouth. Shit. I hope no one heard that!

Awkwardly walking towards the hole in the wall to survey the outside damage, she was met by Goten as he walked back across the grass, debris still falling from his messy hair and clothes.

"Jeez Bulla…"

He hadn't sparred with her in a long time and had forgotten just how strong she could be. With that action alone, it was apparent that Vegeta was still keeping her trained up.

Reading his expression, the bluenette quickly answered it in defiance, "I'm just as much Saiyan as you; don't you ever forget that."

"It's hard not to, Bulla," he responded, rubbing the side of his head as he clambered back through the gaping hole in the wall. "What was that for?"

"ME?! What I did? What about you? What was that about?"

"What?"

"That, uh, that…"

Goten rubbed the back of his neck. "Oh, that. Well, I've kinda been wanting to do it for a while. And you did say that you could kiss me right now, so I, uh, thought it'd be… nice?"

Bulla stood with a hand across her waist, thinking. With her analytical mind whirring away, she eyed him up and down. He certainly was attractive and one of the kindest people she knew; he was an excellent fighter, especially as he came from one of the strongest families, and they always had fun together without fail. Plus, he did know all about Saiyans and their secret lives because of it. Well, maybe not quite everything. She quietly giggled at that.

Seeing her reaction, he scoffed. "Look, I get that the daughter of the mighty Prince of Saiyans probably wouldn't wanna look at me like that." She opened her mouth and tried to speak, but Goten only got louder, determined to say his piece first. "That's fine, but you don't have to laugh at me for it." He dusted himself off and turned away, ready to launch into the air.

But as he turned, he was suddenly nose to nose with Bulla. With a slow gulp, he tried to process what her intentions were. Was he about to receive another injury?

She had zipped straight up to him, unwilling to let him leave with the wrong impression. But as she stared into his obsidian eyes, with her breath hitching in her throat and unable to utter even a syllable, she became very aware of just how much he made her heart race.

As her breath tickled his chin, he tried to keep eye contact, but the longer he stared into those azure pearls, the stronger the pull to look down at those deliciously soft lips. He wanted to wrap his mouth around them again and maybe even taste the inside. In this moment, Goten didn't know what to do. He wanted it to last forever if this was the closest he would be to her, but he didn't want to offend her again. So there he stood, caught in that moment.

Maintaining her gaze, Bulla bit her lip; she wanted him in a way that had never struck her before. She felt a draw, a pull, a compulsion to be near him, to kiss him. And for the briefest moment, she wondered if that was what led him to kiss her before. If he feels like this too, then there's no reason not to… try? Surprising even herself, it was Bulla that could no longer hold back, and she lunged forward, planting her tender lips firmly over his. She didn't fully appreciate the gentle caress of his mouth when he kissed her before, but now, as it moved against hers, reciprocating her advances, she could feel the warmth and care that he took with her.

Goten's body flooded with intense waves of emotion as he struggled to comprehend that Bulla wanted to kiss him. Was kissing him. Is kissing him. Feeling traces of her tongue slip past his lips, he took it as a sign to deepen the kiss. With his hands cradling the side of her face, his tongue greeted hers as he began exploring and massaging every curve, enjoying the taste explosion that ignited his heart with the same rush as the height of battle.

Feeling her hands wrap around him and knot in his hair, Goten pulled her closer to him. Barely able to process what was happening, he fell deeper into her hold, until…

"What are you doing?! Get off my sister!"

CRASH

For the second time this evening, Goten found himself being thrust through a wall. Once he came to a stop just a few metres from his original landing site, he clawed himself back up to question what the hell happened this time. But as he stood up, debris tumbling from every part of him, he saw Trunks standing in front of Bulla with his chest heaving and his eyes flickering between their brilliant blue and the teal of their Super Saiyan form.

There was a good chance that Goten wasn't going to enjoy the beating that Trunks was about to unleash upon him - compared to their usual spars - but after such a powerful kiss, even if it was only going to be relegated to a one-time thing, it had been utterly worth it.
