A timeline where events play out as close to the current one, yet key subtle differences alter and change the fates of those touched. Within the endless reaches of time, space and opportunity, we find ourselves in Atlas airspace. Where a joyful set of teens are chatting about successfully making it all the way. As well as something called a Relic. Adam, who sat furthest back, didn't seem as joyous. He was in duality at the approach to a place he once had vowed to level to the floor, especially with how he had been raised here. Through the talking and comm chatter, a shape sat next to him, far away from the 'warmth' and friendship. The Aura shape was of a man, a dark…dull coloured red, barely visible in Adam's 'sight' of Blood. "You're awfully quiet"/div

Neo rolled her eyes at the remark that Aschen made as they burned the Mistralian ship and they both vanished into the stiff upper crust of the Atlesian living quadrant. The terrible words tagged on the walls, the threats carved into buildings and the silent images spraying news and propaganda were all lost on Adam as he reached a building that was as downtrodden and deserted as the rest of the place. Yet for an unexplainable reason he felt the urge to enter. As he gazed up, he couldn't really see the writing, yet he could see the outline of a sign. A man standing next to three letters, yet he didn't know what they spelled, he just needed information. And seeing as no one had reached out to him on the long way here, he just went for the door and knocked. As he did the standard three times, the door swung open at only two. But no one had opened the door for him. Cautiously, armed with only a shotgun scabbard, he walked in./div
div id="djs-cp7dm" class="daeditor-paragraph" style="margin: 24px 8px; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.3px;"It was a mess. Trash on the floor, magazines scattered on what Adam assumed was the 'customer greeting' section of the office, a desk that smelled moldy and looked like it was collapsing, there was a smell in the air, aside from the mold. Adam knew the scent and he wasn't eager to find the rotting corpse that lay in here. What am I doing here anyway? I don't belong here. There's no chance I'll find him in Mantle like this. I should have stuck with Blake and the others. I could teach them things, from Sensei. Anything other than be in this disgusting dour place. As he turns to leave, there's a rustle in the air, coming from a stand behind the desk. Another echo pulse of his Semblance to 'see', reveals a sword on the stand. A curve to it, not like Wilt. But similar enough. He runs his hand over the standard scabbard. It feels powerful, strong. As he reaches the Tsuba, he stops. A moment of recognition. That ring is similar to the one his Sensei had. Adam turns around, using what little Aura he can to extend his Aura into the area. He pings a shape. But the shape is dead. On the upper floor. The bedroom. He takes the sword and slowly draws it from the Saya. It's metal sings even more so than Wilt would have. The edge had to be honed to an edge so sharp it would cut Dust particles. He took the hilt, lifted it up and felt an intense pressure on his shoulders for some reason. This blade, either it was Aura Forged, or it was something else. Something very dangerous./div

It was clunky. Man this would take some tinkering. Would there be a good weapon smith in Mantle? Regardless, as he turned to the stairs and walked up, the smell of decay got more intense. And as he entered the bedroom he was hit in the face by the dead body lying in the bed. He coughed and backed away, yeah this had to be the place. Vergil's brother was dead and lay decaying on the matras. He cursed his blindness, how can I identify anything now? I barely see shapes in this place. But it's undeniable. The sword was proof enough. This had to be his Huntsman shop, independent from the guild or the school. And someone did him in. There was a shattering outside. Without much to take or see, he went to check it out. Finding a shape surrounded by others, a yellow shape. Small and defenseless, even if she had a staff with a crossbow on it./div

Who they were didn't matter, Adam acted on instinct. Angry at the discovery that the entire trip he made to Atlas was pointless, he marched up to the Sheep eared Faunus, before the goons surrounding her were all slapped on the head in the blink of an eye. Another figure appeared, cloaked in a beige Aura, who spoke with a deep feminine voice, talking to the other girl. An altercation happened that ended with both women beating the muggers. Aside from one who snuck up behind the one called Fiona raising a knife. Adam shot his new sword at his hand, the metal whining and moaning as it left the scabbard. He moved in a flash and sliced the weapon off as he kicked the man in the guts, crumpling him to the floor./div

Slowly they followed Pietro back towards the door of his practice when the air suddenly felt heavy with a sudden change in things. Qrow's eyes darted around, experienced as he was. Ren's senses picked up something in the air. The first bolas bound and dropped Nora and Jaune. But Ren was able to dive under it, swiping with StormFlower to cut the cord over. Instantly he positioned himself to look over Nora and Jaune, eyes scanning the treetop. Blake heard the muffled and startled groans from Nora and Jaune, causing her to turn and feel the entangling ropes coil her arms, instantly her form shimmered and she was behind where she stood, a Shadow tanking the projectile. Yang, Weiss and Ruby weren't as lucky. Oscar similarly felt his arms get bound, while Qrow drew harbinger and spun around, in time to also slice the bola in two. He turned his eyes to who was left. Standing defensively near Jaune and Nora, Ren was following motions from a top the rooftop, where a lean and bulky woman appeared. Blake's ears lowered in aggressive posturing as she stepped to defend her team from a Faunus kid barely older than her, and a mohawk girl glaring at her with a hyper confident smirk. Qrow then stepped towards Oscar and pointed Harbinger at a fishline guy. He had an overly confident smirk on his face and the sparkling in his eyes that seemed like he was either dealt a winning hand in a card game, or he never ever lost a single fight. It reminded Qrow of Raven. He glared./div
div id="djs-1v957" class="daeditor-paragraph" style="margin: 24px 8px; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.3px;""Listen buddy I'm a Licensed Huntsman", he said, trying to dissolve this situation before it turned ugly. Yet the moment he said that, there was a spark of lightning as Blake staggered back, her pistol sword swiped. Desperate, but unwilling given that the blade hadn't helped her much with the Grimm, she drew Wilt from Shroud. The sword felt light in her hands, even lighter than Gambol had been, yet it also seemed dull. Even taking on a few of the Sabertooths earlier, she had managed to barely beat one by spearing it. She jumped at the speedy one, before a loud 'STAY' and the snap of a finger froze Blake in place. She gasped before Gambol's ribbon was wrapped around her wrists and she was kneed in the back and pushed to the floor. Similarly, Ren found himself massively outmatched. As the thin bald man danced around him, matching him blow for blow, he barely had enough time to escape the massive behemoth of a woman that lunged for him. Diving under her legs he aimed his weapons and shot at them, self defense. Yet that woman was massive and shrugged off his bullets as if they weren't doing anything. She anchored herself, suddenly Aura roots sprouting from her feet, as a shove pushed Ren into her range and causing him to be caught in a bearhug that could snap him like a twig. A few seconds later, he was also restrained, leaving Qrow alone. Some bad luck indeed./div
div id="djs-5s7jv" class="daeditor-paragraph" style="margin: 24px 8px; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.3px;""That's a nice way of thanking us for saving lives. What sort of moronic behavior…", Qrow had to duck. A speedy punch came for him, yet he was far more experienced dealing with Huntsmen and Huntresses. As he swung the sword mode Harbinger towards the speedster, his swing cut short as a cable snagged his sword hand, a fish hook having coiled around him. Looking towards the Faunus, Qrow smirked. As he snapped his finger he lept upwards as the commanding word was uttered, freezing the speedster, who was then drop kicked, as Qrow landed on her face with both feet and pushed her down. He didn't have a lot of time. Pressing the mode button on his hilt, Harbinger extended into a Scythe, clipping the fishhook loose. Darting forwards, hooking the blade under the thin guy's legs he swiped and sprinted for the relic, once more sidestepping another 'Stay', which froze the beefy woman. He didn't have time to clock her, since his focus was on the Faunus. As he got closer he slid on his knee, dodging the fishhook, returning Harbinger to sword mode and slammed the flat as hard into the Faunus kid as he could, ringing him in the head. If this was a saturday morning cartoon there'd be twittering birds flying around his noggin. In the same spinning motion, facing the other three remaining Special Operatives, Qrow swiped the relic and hung it to his belt. Focused and pushing as much bad luck on them as he could, his Aura slowly draining like a bottle with a hole./div

Qrow rolled his eyes as the beefy woman and small lean man began advancing on him. And once more Misfortune came in clutch. Suddenly a street light flickered and the glass casing came loose, falling right towards the woman, who looked up and stopped focusing on Qrow. Dashing forwards, causing both males to say the name of their teammate, Branwen sprung forwards, extended Harbinger into a Scythe again and began rolling midair, spinning a death spiral that caught the beefy woman and her partner, knocking them back, leaving only one left, fishhook guy./div

He looked at the fishhook guy, who casually flicked a clover pinned to his uniform before Qrow was taken down. "Not your lucky day"/div

Unbeknownst to all of them, it was indeed an infiltration. With Aschen having snuck in, thanks to the timely arrival of Ruby and her friends, yet deep in the bowls of Mantle, murders were being committed by Tyrian and cyberattacks happened because in their hubris, Atlas forgot to update Mantle's security network since Watts worked on it. That makes many MANY years of compiled and escalating system errors and weaknesses. Yet Atlas works like a certain Domino City and the Satellite, they don't think about the others because they're arrogantly stupid in their hubris./div
