Hi! Finally a new chapter! Don't worry, more exciting stuff will come soon once I'm able to figure them out!
Everyone was exhausted upon the time they arrived back to the castle where Bronx with Xanatos was there, woofing at the return of the clan. Brooklyn landed and helped Randall to stand who looked worse for wear, scratches and bruises all along his body, cringing in pain.
The rest landed and Randall eyed his two old rivals with distaste, keeping as far away from them as they could though Mike seemed rather concerned for him. Xanatos went to Elisa.
"I see you found Randall. Is everyone ok?" He asked. Elisa nodded to David. "Yes. But Randall and Broadway are badly injured and need treatment," She said when Goliath carried Broadway despite his own injuries but he could treat them himself. David nodded in acknowledgement and led them all into the hospital.
Randall glanced at Goliath and turned his head slightly away in fear after their last encounter, not wanting to be scratched again after he was laid on a medical bed and Broadway too. Goliath felt his face burn with guilt when remembering what he did. He wanted to make up for it terribly. "Randall…" He tried but Dr. Sato came in to push them out. "These two need space so I can work on them," He demanded, and closed the door.
Sato first hooked Randall up to an iv before he did the more serious stuff with Broadway, Randall laying there, still in some shock he was away from that horrible gargoyle. The doctor went up to Randall who shied a bit. "Stay away from me!" Randall yelped in anger, shaking terribly. Sato held up his hands. "I am a PIT member. Never want to hurt gargoyles or any other creatures like you. But you've been through really traumatic events, hence your PTSD."
Randall glowered, wanting to be left alone. "Don't stick anymore needles into me!" He said in a panicked way. Brooklyn hated seeing his friend like this. Thailog had sure messed him up big time. "It'll be ok. You need him to make sure you haven't been injured. Sato is not Sevarius," the red gargoyle assured him. Randall trembled but saw the truth in Brooklyn's eyes, nodding carefully.
Sato did his check up on Randall while his assistant worked on healing Broadway. Thankfully his injuries weren't bad, just a couple days of stone sleep should do the trick in curing him. But with Randall it could be two or three weeks since he didn't have that special ability. Randall silently wished he did now. He hated to be in pain.
The doctor then eventually left them to rest, Brooklyn telling Randall he hoped he feels better before going out to turn, Goliath feeling more guilty for his actions now than he was before, hoping that Randall would forgive him.
Randall curled up in his sheets while the sun came up, watching Broadway turn to stone after Sato took out the instruments he was hooked up with. Deep down, he wondered if the clan would now forgive him, but didn't think he could ever forgive Sullivan and Wazowski. Now that they were here however it would be hard to have a peaceful night with them around. At one point Mike had peeked in to try saying hi but Randall just covered his head with the blankets. He didn't want to talk to them, ever.
Outside, Mike was feeling upset about what was going on and that his old friend still hated his guts since college. Sulley put a hand on his shoulder. "Everything alright, buddy?" He asked gently. Mike sighed. "I just wish things can be what they were again when I first met Randall. He was so shy but nice, and eager to make his mark on the world. What can I do to end this?"
Sulley smiled. "The best thing in my opinion is to just try being friendly. At least being with the clan helped him open up more to his feelings," he then pointed out, Mike nodding. "I suppose you're right."
….
The next few nights came and went with Randall and Broadway resting. With Broadway's stone sleep he healed faster which made Randall feel more jealous of that ability, having his arm in a sling and his belly bandaged, still not sure if he wanted to speak with Goliath.
But one day Brooklyn helped the lizard monster put things into perspective. "Goliath really does want to reconnect with you again, Randall." He tried. Randall frowned.
"But… what if he hurts me again? Doesn't he still hate me?" Randall questioned in small fear. Brooklyn took his hand.
"I'll be there to ensure he won't. But he has been feeling guilty. You think you're feeling well enough to give it a try at least?"
Randall trembled a little but thanks to consoling from Angela and Elisa, he had been feeling better these past couple days, giving a little nod, touching his scratches that were now scars. "A-Alright," he said shakily, Brooklyn helping him sit up and to walk.
When reaching the living room, Randall shivered upon seeing Goliath out there along with everybody else, including Sullivan and Wazowski. His fronds lowered in guilt once again, Brooklyn giving him a small push forward.
Goliath did his best to remain calm when seeing Randall again who didn't look as bad as he did before but still seemed nervous rightfully so, causing him to gaze down at his own talons again, imagining Randall's blood on them.
"Hello, Randall. I hope you're feeling well," Goliath greeted gently, Randall feeling rather awkward but inside this could be the perfect practice for if he ever decided to forgive Wazowski, swallowing before replying. "Guess so."
Goliath kept his wings folded and his expression as calm as possible since last time he was rather angry and pretty much scared Randall. "Randall, after everything you went through, I had some time to think."
Randall glared now. "I don't wanna talk about it," He huffed, folding his arms.
"All I want to say is I'm sorry. I never meant to lash out that way and scar you. I know see that you really have changed from before our confrontation, and you were brave to admit what you did in the past. Can… we start over?" Goliath pleaded, his eyes begging, hating seeing those scars that he himself wound up making with his own talons.
The purple lizard gazed at the larger gargoyle who to him now looked genuine of his apology, and his heart felt torn, soon nodding quietly, tears in his eyes while Brooklyn wound up giving him a hug. "Ok. I-I'm sorry too for what I did," He said shakily.
Hudson gave a smile. "Is alright, laddie. We all make mistakes, some bigger than others, but we all must atone for them," He said, while Mike looked ready to cry himself, having never seen Randall apologize like this for a long time. Goliath held out his hand, and Randall shakily took it, both of them finally becoming friends once again.
And after that, Mike slowly went up to Randall as well, feeling ready to apologize. "Randall, I-I realize now that what I did to ignore you at the university was wrong, and I'm really sorry. Not sure if you will forgive me but just wanted to say it," he stammered, Randall eyeing him suspiciously.
Randall thought about it for a moment, before soon nodding. "My time here with the clan really gave me a lot of thinking. And… I apologize too for nearly hurting Boo like that and well… everything else," He said carefully. Sully felt himself grin at what was happening, two old friends being able to apologize finally. They even gave each other a hug as well.
After that, the evening went quite nicely for the rest of the night, mostly resting but now Randall felt like a burden had been lifted, being able to apologize to both Goliath and Wazowski. He would still have those scratches, but now they felt like a badge of honor, a sign that he was reformed.
A small smile appeared on his face when touching them, before going out to see the gargoyles turn to stone again. He had invited Sulley and Mike to come out to watch.
The two gasped at having not seen anything like this before after saying goodbye to the clan since they would soon return home.
Upon going towards the door in Alex's room, Sulley turned to Randall. "You sure you don't want to come back? I can convince the judge that you really changed," He invited. Randall shook his head.
"No, I feel happier here with the clan. And since I now know humans aren't toxic, they're actually cooler to be around." He said with a grin. Mike held out his hand once more.
"Then, I suppose it is goodbye. We'll make a door for you in case you want to visit," Mike said in sadness, smiling. Randall felt saddened to see his college friend leave but it was for their own good since Sevarius would probably want to experiment on them both if caught. He then watched Mike and Sulley go through the door into the monster world, closing it, Randall sighing. Castle Wyvern was now his permanent home for good.
Sorry about the long pause, dumb writer's block.
