Sakura trudged through what she realized was a place that was completely different than her home - there were no signs of war and no one under the effect of the Tsukuyomi (which made her question herself quite a bit). In fact, everything seemed peaceful.
She shivered. Peace hadn't been a factor in her life since she was a child.
Despite it being peaceful, it still seemed off. It wasn't unlikely that Sakura was in a village outside of the elemental nations, though.
To her, everything seemed old. Back before the Warring States Period type of old. Everyone she passed by wore traditional clothes such as kimonos, hakatas and everything of the like. The buildings were decorated and even shaped differently.
She hadn't seen anything representing the existence of Shinobi, but she figured it was because it was mostly a civilian village. Even so, she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease build within her.
"Thief!" A shout shredded her weakened eardrums, and before she could register what was happening, her body moved out of the way in time to avoid a large black blur. Her head spun as did her body, and her eyes caught a glimpse of a bulky figure.
"Help! Someone help, please!" The same voice shouted, and Sakura turned around to see a young woman with tears in her eyes pointing at the retreating figure. Seeing as no other bystanders would do anything, she nodded before charging at the thief.
Sakura didn't have time to catch a red-haired man politely pushing his way through the crowd. "Oro?"
The figure moved quite slowly, she noted. Ah, so these people were untrained. In no time, she was able to catch up with him. She raised her hand to grab the item he stole, but to her surprise, he moved swiftly moved to the left and landed a strike on her cheek.
The attack caught Sakura by surprise, but it didn't hurt compared to what she had experienced before. A small grunt left her lips as she realized he had continued to run. She expertly piled chakra to her feet as to run faster and returned the earlier blow with a hit to his back. She heard a satisfying gurgle of pain escape from him.
"Damn..Lady!" He shouted with anger. Despite the underlying threat in his words, she remained unbothered, swiftly catching the stolen item, which was an expensive-looking ring. Sakura quickly hid it in her nearly destroyed vest.
Dang it.
Just as she had thought she finished him off, she felt a gust of wind and knew that an attack would ensue. And she was correct. The man held a small and alarmingly sharpened pocket knife aiming right at her stomach. A string of curses echoed throughout her head - how foolish of her to be so unprepared. Tsunade Shisou would be so disappointed.
Sakura was quick enough to land a kick to his abdomen that sent him flying into a building. She heard a chorus of screams and flinched apologetically. Oops. She would apologize later. For now, the more important thing was to turn him in to the authorities and return the stolen ring. And to get home, an obnoxious voice in her head rang.
Unfortunately, before she could go through with her plan, she passed out and hit the cracked wooden floor with a thud.
"...Shin..Lady…Man..Thief…Strong..Destroy.." Was all her unbreakable will allowed her to hear.
A/N: Thank you for the support on my story! It means more to me than you may realize. I apologize for the late update and short chapters. My mind has been..dull. I hope the plot doesn't seem too forced. :') - Bleu!
