A Hero's Life Reboot EP 9: Pier Pressure
I don't own anything except my OCs. BTW Two of the Plumbers in this chapter are characters from The Omnitrix Hero on Fimfiction by Banshee531. I did not make them, and they belong to their respective creators.
On the outskirts of Beverly Hills, in a dark forest, all is quiet, except for the fact that about 5 minutes ago, a spaceship crashed and landed here, making a crater. In the wreckage, a strangely, familiar green and black tech blob leeks out of it and starts slithering away from it, looking around and continuing. It then came across a highway, where a lone truck is parked as the owner tries to replace a busted tire.
The being raises its 'head and studies the truck, speaking something in an alien language as it is stealthy makes its way to the front and slips into the grill, merging and taking over the truck as it drives away as the man cries out. "Hey! What are you doing with my-" Suddenly the truck turns around and narrows its eye at the man as he gaps, running and looking back and screaming as the truck opens its mouth and roars.
The screen is black, only for a bolt of green lightning to make a flash of white light as upbeat music is heard.
Ben stands as he is smirking at the camera as a black with green bubbles background is behind the tween, making the boy raise both his arms and show off his new Omnitrix and then slap down with a grin, making a flash of light.
"BEN 10!"
"He's a kid and he wants to have fun!"
Upgrade with hands on hips appears as a close-up of his face shows up in the background as a bolt of lightning comes down.
Big Chill flies across and freezes as the same thing happens to Swampfire, leaping out of an explosion.
"But when you need a superhero, he gets the job done!"
"BEN 10!"
Shock Rock smashes his fists together, sending out waves of electricity that affect the 4th wall.
"With A device that he wears on his arm."
"He can change his shape and save the world from harm!"
Ben poses with his Omnitrix, just as headshots of Shock Rock, Water Hazard, Big Chill, and Swampfire show up, one-by-one.
Rath was staring at Grey Matter, who hopped along a bunch of platforms with the watch symbol on it while the tiger alien was confused before it turned into rage as he held his head in anger.
"When trouble's taking place."
Ben was then running towards the screen.
"He gets right in its face!"
"BEN 10!"
Humungousaur, Slapback, Fasttrack and Upgrade's headshots show up as well!
A green circuit board background is shown as 5 aliens show up in a row while Ben is staring at the 4th wall as his right side is shown. The aliens are Shock Rock, Fasttrack, Rath, Swampfire, and 4 Slapbacks.
"When lives are on the line."
The same thing happens with his left side as more aliens appear. The aliens are now: Big Chill, Water Hazard, Grey Matter, Humungosaur, and Upgrade, which is still in normal form.
"It's hero time!"
"BEN 10!"
It ends with Ben and Alex, standing side to side with crossed arms and smirks as the title appears above.
The next day, Ben and Madison, along with their new friend, Normie were tearing it up at the local Skate Park. "Check this out!" Normie exclaims as he's equipped with light blue protective sports gear on his BMX bike as he is now wearing pants instead of shorts. He rides down the pool, launching up to a front wheel spin, followed by a tailspin on another ramp. And lastly, coming to a stop after grinding on a rail.
"Impressive, for an amateur!" Maddie grins out before taking a crack with her skates. She launched up the half-pipe and did some grabs and spins. She then rides towards and grinds on a rail, to a split jump into the pool and launches up a ramp for a double kick out. She slides to a stop near the boys with her arms crossed. "All right, you 2! Watch how a pro does it! And please, keep your eyes on the head." Ben smirks before launching off the Half-pipe to the Tetramand Tornado. He then grips the edge of the other side and then rides to a grind rail, sliding on it.
He then did a method grab into the pool and flew up, doing Japan air and finishing up with a 720-spin flip, sliding and kicking up his board with a coy smile. "Come on! Is that the best you could do?!" "Please, like those count as tricks?!" "You call those moves!?" The 3 friends challenge glance at each other until…. RUMBLE
They all blush in embarrassment as they look down at their rumbling stomachs. "Uhh… take 5 for lunch?" Ben suggests. "Okay!" They then all rode out to the Burger Shack. As they rode through Rodeo Drive, they passed by Mandy spinning her out. "Coming through!" "One side!" "Gangway!" As the queen bee fell flat and dizzy, she recovered and glared at the kids. "You little brats! Watch where you're going!" "Sorry, your 'highness'!" Ben taunts out as the other kids laugh as well.
The 3 friends were chilling at Burger Shack as they ate. "So, what do you boys have planned for tonight?" Madison asks as she drinks her soda. "Not sure. If no baddies show up and cause problems, I could be looking for some total me time." Ben answers as he eats his burger. Normie looks to the side and gets a goofy grin as his burger falls out of his hands and onto his tray. "Uhh... Dude? You going to eat that?" Ben asks as he points at the food. The 2 notice Normie seems to be ignoring them. "Normie? Are you okay?" Madison asked out. Looking in that direction, he seems to be staring at Ben and Madison sees 4 kids, talking and eating at another table.
One of them is 12 years old and has auburn colored hair that seems to be in the style of a flat top and pale blue eyes. His outfit usually consists of a red short-sleeved shirt with a white "W" on it, burgundy-colored pants, red shoes, and a red and white wristband which is attached to his right wrist. Another is 11 years old and has short light brown hair in the normal style that an 11-year-old boy would have. He has hazel eyes and wears a blue hoodie with white sleeves, green cargo pants, and blue shoes. The youngest boy is 10 years old and has black hair that is swept up one way and down the other and green eyes. He wears a yellow long-sleeved shirt under a blue jacket, blue pants, yellow shoes, and a grey belt.
And lastly, the only girl in the group is 11 years old and has tan skin, hunter-green eyes, and black hair. Her hair is very reminiscent of Alex's hairstyle with an up-sweep in the back. Her default outfit consists of a short-sleeved pink zip-up hoodie with purple sleeves that stop just above her midriff, a pink skirt with white leggings, and pink and white shoes. "Who are those guys?" Madison asks as Ben notices them and answers after a sip of his soda. "Oh, yeah! The Clark Siblings!"
"The Clark Siblings?" The purple-haired girl is confused as the Omnitrix welder explains. "They are some new neighbors of Me and Alex that just moved in a couple of days ago. I heard their mom and dad got new, high-paying jobs in Beverly Hills and moved here from Canada." Ben took another drink as he continued. "They just entered our school, yesterday. Lee, the one in red, is the oldest, at 12 years. Marc and Megan, the boy in blue, and the girl are both 11. I think they are fraternal twins or something. And lastly, the kid in yellow is Tony, the 10-year-old of the group."
Madison looks between Normie and Megan as her mind deduces why as she smiles out. "And I know why Normie looks like that. He likes Megan!" Normie snaps out of as he blinks and blushes a bit and speaks out. "No, I don't!" He then thought about it after a bit. "Okay... Maybe a tiny bit." "Then, talk to her?" Ben suggested as Normie got nervous. "But! I don't know how! This is the 1st time I ever talk to a girl!"
Madison frowns as she coughs, making both boys look at her as she stares at a deadpan look that Normie notices. "I meant to ask a girl out, not like a friend, you know!" "Uh-huh." "Besides, I'm not sure I want to ask her out, considering her brothers are here and will be eyeballing me the whole time..." Normie whispers as he gestures to the boys. Tony sticks two fries in his mouth and acts like a walrus as Lee and Marc laugh. Megan just sighs out in annoyance, leaving to take care of her finished tray. "Oh, hey! She's leaving! Now's your chance to talk to her without her brothers knowing." Ben smiles.
"Umm..." But Madison rolls her eyes and drags Normie after Megan as Ben smiles out. "Sweet! More fries for me!" He grins as he has some of Normie's fries. "Uhh! Madison! I'm not sure this a good idea, honest!" "Trust me! This is for your good." She shoves Normie as he stumbles and stops before Megan, just as she gets rid of her tray and notices a blonde kid stumbling in front. "Uhh, hi, Megan! It is nice to meet me... I mean! You! Nice to meet you!" Normie chuckles, but inwardly, he facepalms at the slip-up.
"Hey... Aren't you the blonde kid who sits behind me at 2nd and 3rd periods?" "Yeah! Yeah... That's me. Normie Ewing." Normie scratches the back of his neck at Megan's questions and is about to leave. "Well, nice knowing you!" But Madison coughs with a frown as Normie notices and takes a deep breath. "Okay... Megan? I was wondering... If you want to hang out with me at my house tonight? I mean! Not like a date or anything! But you know, just some friends, hanging out and playing games and such, you know?" Megan thought about it and smiled. "Sure! How about 6:30 PM?" "Great!" Normie grins out as Megan waves bye as she walks back to her brothers.
Normie grins out what happened. "Megan Clark is going to hang out with me, tonight! Yaahh-oh!" "Boys..." Madison shakes her head and rolls her eyes with a smile at Normie's victory dance.
Back at Ben and Alex's house, Ben is pacing in his room in thought. After Normie asked Megan to hang out with him, Madison wanted to hang out with him as well. The 11-year-old realizes that he is going on a date with a girl, for the 1st time ever! And he has no idea what to do! Ben then realizes what to do as he sighs out. "Desperate times call for desperate measures." He went to his sister's door and took a deep breath. "Okay..." He knocks on the door and waits for a response. Alex then opened her door and saw Ben. "Ben? What is it?" The boy looks around and pushes Alex into her room as Ben shuts the door.
"Okay... Here's the thing: Madison wants to hang out with me and only me, tonight! And she wants us to check out the Santa Monica Pier! And I have no idea what to do!" Alex smiles as she realizes her brother is asking her for dating advice. "Don't you worry, Ben! With my help, not only will this date be a success, but Maddie will be your brand-new girlfriend in no time!" "Thanks! I... Wait! What?! GIRLFRIEND?! DATE?! I didn't say this was a date! And who said anything about a girlfriend?!" Ben exclaims in shock and embarrassment.
On the highway outside the city, the truck from before is turned on its side and the side of the road as a police officer inspects it and speaks to his radio. "Yeah, yeah! I found the stolen truck. No, no signs of whoever took it." But unbeknownst to the man, the same blob sneaks away and takes control of his crusher. "What do you mean, he said it drove away by itself?! That just doesn't happen!" Suddenly, the crusher takes off as the man notices and blinks in surprise with pinprick eyes and continues into his radio. "...Much." The man notices that it is heading towards the city.
Night has come as Alex, who is driving Ben and Maddie to Santa Monica, is driving down the street as they soon come up to the entrance. As the kids were getting out, the teen spoke out. "Okay, I'll be back to pick you all up in 2 and a half hours. And Ben? Try not to make out with your new girlfriend, too much~!" She winks as she drives off. Ben groans out as he feels like slamming his head into something hard. "Where's a blackhole when you need one?"
"Forget her! Let's go have some fun!" Maddie suggests as the kids walk in with smiles, but unbeknownst to them, the strange blob, still merged with the police crusher, is tracking them, via a signal that has the symbol of the Omnitrix on it.
And so, the kids look around at all the rides, stands, and games with amusement. "Slow night, huh?" Madison comments as they look around and don't see almost any other people. "Yeah... I heard this place is packed on weekends." Ben explains as he gives a small smile as the girl returns it. But just then, the Omnitrix started beeping loudly, startling the kids as Megan asked out. "Is that your watch, Ben?!" "Yeah! I got to get that fixed! Excuse me a minute!" The boy runs off as Maddie shrugs it and decides to look around.
Ben ducks behind an empty stand as the boy frowns at the beeping watch. "What is wrong with this thing, now?!" Ben tries hitting the watch, hoping it will stop. As he tried to get the watch to stop the alarm, the blob separated from the crusher and went into the pier, coming across Ben, but both were too busy to notice the blob as it noticed some nearby bumper cars and went to them.
The Omnitrix finally stops as the boy sighs. "Finally! Wonder what that was about?" Ben ponders. Suddenly, he hears screams and sees some people running away from the blob, which has merged with a bumper car, and confronts the boy, rising and opening its new mouth with the eye ring narrowed. "Oh, man!" Ben groans out, having to deal with another alien attack, now of all nights.
The kid starts running from the bumper car as it chases after them. As the kid kept running as fast as his legs could go, Ben called out. "What is this?! When carnival rides, attack?!" The kid just kept running as fast as possible as he glanced back to see the car was closing in.
As Ben kept running, the car started sending out strange waves from its tail and the watch began beeping again. "Not again!" Ben frowns at the watch as he is unsure if going hero is a good idea now, considering that thing is messing with the watch. Just Ben slides a corner, and the car tries to but drifts too far and smashes into some barrels. Shaking them off, it spots Ben, standing still with a smug look and crossed arms. "Hey, tin can! Over here!" he stuck his tongue out, taunting the car it growled and rushed after him. As Ben just stood and waited, he quickly rolled away at the last second, making the car hit the hard pole, behind the boy and flip upside down, coming to a stop.
The boy stood up and dusted his shirt off. "I should be concerned about what happened, but not right now." Ben ran off as the blob detached from the wreckage.
Meanwhile, in the forest with the crashed ships, 2 different hands try to reach for a panel, only to be shocked as they cry out in pain as no one can hear them around.
Back at the Pier, the girl was looking around until she spotted Ben running up with Cotton Candy. "Hey there! Sorry about being late; The line was huge!" "Ben..." Maddie frowns as she gestures around them. "There's no one here." "Uh... I meant the guy who ran the food stand was on break. So, I had to wait?" Ben grins out as the girl sighs. "I thought you ditched me." "No! Maddie, I would never do that, honest!" The girl ponders about it as Ben smiles and offers the sugar treat as she smiles and takes it, giving Ben the benefit of the doubt.
The kids then decide to look around to find something to ride and they stop in front of a jet fighter ride. "This looks good." Maddie smiles as Ben points out. "Especially if you don't mind puking your guts out, after waves of nausea." "What?" Maddie asks with a sly smile. "Are you saying you're scared, Mr. Hero?" "No way! I'm just glad I didn't get us cheeseburgers before this ride."
But just then, the boy notices the blob is merging and taking over the ride as he groans out. "Oh, no. Hey! Let's see if we can find something else to do, like a game. Far from this ride." Ben grins as he tries to get Madison away as the girl asks. "Why? Are you scared of rides like this?" "No, no! It's just well..." They both saw the machine narrow its eye ring and growl, trying to attack as they ran. "Something like this!" Ben spoke out as Maddie screamed as they all ran.
Ben quickly went to a Janitor's closet and shoved Maddie inside. "You stay here!" "Ben? What's going on?" "I'm sorry about this, Maddie!" Ben had a guilty look as he slammed the door, just for the watch to beep, yet again. "Again?! Fine! It's hero time, anyway!" Ben pushes the button and slaps down on the watch, transforming into Shock Rock as he slams his palm into his fist. "Time to take this tin can down!" He runs out as the jet breaks off and begins flying around.
The jet tries to tackle him, but Shock Rock whacks it away with an energy club. The machine recovers and fires a bunch of green lasers as the alien creates an energy shield to block. But just then, Maddie, having heard all the commotion, went to investigate and gasped in surprise at the battle. Shock Rock notices the girl and quickly stretches his arms out, grabbing Maddie and placing her near another ride as the jet notices.
"All right! No more Mister Nice Alien!" Shock Rock gathers up energy and unleashes a massive beam, blasting the jet out of the sky as it crashes into a nearby 'tilt-a-whirl' ride as they both crash into the water. As the alien looks over and changes back to Ben, he hears footsteps as he glances back as Madison runs up. "Uh... Hi, Maddie. So, some date, huh?" Ben shrugs with an uneasy smile. But the girl frowns with her hands on her hips. "Ben Tennyson! What is going on here?!" "What are you talking about?" Ben asks as he tries to fake confusion.
But just then, something rises out of the ocean behind the 2 kids as Maddie points up and exclaims. "That!" They all see the blob has merged with the Tilt-a-whirl. Just then, the machine scoops up Maddie in one of the seats as she cries out in surprise. "Madison!" Ben cries out as he glares out. "Hey! Let go of her!" Maddie tried to use her phone, but it slipped out and smashed onto the pier as the machine started walking away with its hostage. "Ben! Help!" "Oh, man!" Ben exclaims as he runs after it.
As the Omnitrix welder tries to keep up, he ducks behind a tree and hits the Omnitrix, turning into Big Chill as he takes to the air and follows the machine and the trail of wreckage as well. "None of this makes any sense. Why am I being attacked by carnival rides? And why did that thing grab Maddie if it's just after me?" The alien pondered as he got closer and closer to the machine as he heard Maddie screaming to be let go.
As the alien flew in above, he narrowed his eyes as he pondered. "Can't attack it directly, I might freeze Maddie by mistake! So, let's try the indirect approach." He smirks as he gets an idea. He flies ahead of the machine, using his frost breath on the street, turning it into ice as the machine's legs start slipping and falling back. "Yes!" The alien hero grins only for his eyes to widen to see its back up and throws some lamp posts as Big Chill quickly turns intangible as they go through him. "Whoa... That was close." Only for Big Chill to notice the machine was gone!
As Big Chill hovers in the air, looking around for the strange being that took Maddie, he hears a cry in the forest. "LET ME GO! LET ME GO!" "Gotcha!" Big Chill grins and takes off after the voice. The alien comes across the rampaging ride as it hovers in the air and narrows at it. "Okay, you! Where's Maddie?!"
"Ben." He looks to see Maddie come out from behind one of the legs, unharmed and okay. "I'm fine. Really!" "Maddie!" He cries out in relief as Big Chill lands and folds his wings as he runs up to her. "Are you okay?" "Yeah. That thing scared me quite a bit, but it wasn't trying to hurt me. But I am wondering, why didn't you tell me there was this strange thing, back there at the Pier?" Big Chill briefly widens his eyes in shock as he tries to answer. "Well... It's because... I didn't want to worry you and... It's because I was afraid." "Afraid? You?" Maddie is surprised that the alien boy, who practically didn't even flinch at the sight of danger and likes cracking jokes at villains is scared! "Why would you be afraid if I knew?"
"Because the last time I asked out a girl, she only liked me for my aliens. I was afraid that if you see my aliens in action more, you'll like them better than just plain old Ben." Big Chill confesses, but Maddie smiles. "Ben... I don't like you for your powers or ask you to hang out with me tonight because of the watch. I wanted to spend time with the human part of you. I like you for you!" "You... Mean it?" Big Chill asks with a smile as he times out while Ben feels his spirits are lifted that Maddie likes him for himself!
Just then, the blob separates from the ride and forms into its true form: A Galvanic Mechamorph that is green and black and the size of a 12-year-old. "Another Upgrade?" Ben asks out in confusion The being spoke in its unknown language again but mentioned one word in English. "Ship." The kids glance at each other as the girl asks it. "Ship?" The alien points over the crashed spaceship as Ben figures it out. "I get it! You want us to come out here to that crashed spaceship, right?" The Mechamorph nodded in response and ran towards it as the others followed. Ben noticed the watch beeped again, confirming the spaceship was causing the watch to beep.
The 2 kids managed to reach the ship, only for Maddie to spot something inside the ship, behind a red energy field. "Hey! Look in there!" Inside the ship, is 2 aliens. One is a Pyronite, and the other is a Piscciss Volann and they are wearing white and black with bits of sliver suits, and they are stuck under large pieces of equipment, struggling to get out, only to be briefly shocked, now and then.
"Wait a sec..." Ben breathes out with widened eyes, recognizing the aliens as some of his old transformations. "I know those aliens!" "You do?" Madison asks as Ben explains. "Kind of. I used to be able to turn into those guys! I called myself Heatblast, and Ripjaws." He points at each respective alien as he explains, just as more electricity zaps them. "Well, whatever they are, they're hurt!" Maddie was about to help when Ben stopped her. "Hold it! Get too close to that energy field and you'll fry like bacon!"
Just then, Madison notices some sort of computer above them that is displaying alien words. "What does that say?" "Sorry! Can't read alien." Ben shrugs out, just for the alien kid to wave his arms around, getting their attention as he kept speaking alien words and ship. "What's he saying?" The girl asks as the alien mimics the ship, and then makes an explosion as Maddie states. "Okay! That looks and sounds like it's important."
Ben looks back at the beeping device and his eyes widen as he realizes what it is! "It's a countdown! That thing is going to blow!" He quickly activates the Omnitrix and slaps it down, changing into Humungousaur as he roars out. Humungousaur runs towards the ship, forcing his way through the energy field while he feels discomfort from the energy as he sucks it up. He manages to make it in and grabs the overloading machine, ripping it out as the shield disappears. He runs out and throws the generator up into the stratosphere, just for it to explode in a supernova-like fashion.
Humungousaur then quickly uses his body to shield the other 2 as the shockwave of the blast kicked up debris and dirt. Once it's over, the alien is still covering as the 11-year-old girl states out. "The explosion's over." "Oh! Right!" Humungousaur backs away as he taps his fingers together and looks embarrassed.
The dinosaur alien then starts pulling the wreckage off to help the Piscciss Volann and Pyronite out. As the 2 aliens stood up, they could see the Pyronite had a different face plate than Headtblast and the Piscciss Volann had a glass helmet, filled with water to help him breathe. The 2 aliens tapped on the red circle on their suits as the Pyronite spoke out in perfect English. "Thank you... If you all hadn't come, I was not sure we would survive our core's overload."
Humungousaur times out as Ben smiles. "It was no problem. You should thank him." He points at the kid Mechamorph. "Yeah... He was just trying to get help, weren't you?" "Indeed, I was." The Mechamorph responds in a kid's voice to Madison as the humans are shocked. "You can speak English?! Why didn't you do it before?" Madison asks as he explains. "I'm sorry about how I acted before. My Logic Matrix was damaged after being captured by space pirates and forced to enhance their tech and weapons. But luckily, I was rescued by the Plumbers."
"'Plumbers?' You guys don't look like you can fix bathrooms?" Ben spoke to Maddie. "The Plumbers they are referring to are intergalactic police officers, a common mistake." "Anyway, we were on our way to escort So-Ra here back to his home planet when those pirates attacked us, out of nowhere!" The Piscciss Volann frowns as the Pyronite takes over. "We were able to fight them off, but they got a lucky shot in and damaged our ship, forcing us to crash here!"
"And so, I went out, hoping to find the nearest Plumber on this planet, when I picked up the signal, coming from that device on your arm.' So-Ra explains as he points at the Omnitrix as Ben looks at it. "So, that explains the random beeping." Ben points out. "I apologize for my methods of bringing you here. I wasn't thinking clearly, due to my Matrix still repairing, as it also garbled my vocal circuits as well."
"Anyway, thanks to you all, you managed to save us. Thank you." The Pyronite smiles as they all exit the wreckage, just as another Plumber ship descends and lands on 4 extended legs, opening and dropping a ramp. "Good thing we sent an S.O.S signal to send us another ride. Anyway, nice meeting you younglings, but we've got a Galvanic Mechamorph kid to return home to his parents." The fish alien smiles as he climbs onto the ship as So-Ra waves bye to the humans. They both wave bye as well and the Pyronite is the last to enter.
"Again, thank you all, my young friends. Perhaps we will meet each other one day? Oh, before I forget. I am Magister Fuego. The fish is Magister Glug. Farewell." He spoke out as he entered, and the ship closed the ramp, retracted the legs, and then took off as the kids watched. "Well, that was something." Madison smiles as Ben nods out. "Yeah... Who would have thought the Plumbers exist in this universe as well? So... Some night, huh?" Ben grins out as Maddie chuckles. "Yeah... How about we head home?"
Fasttrack stops in front of his house as he sets Maddie down as he changes back. "So... I was thinking, Maddie. About our friendship..." Maddie stopped as she spoke out. "It's okay, Ben. How about we just start as friends, and work our way, up, okay?" She slightly blushes as Ben smiles and blushes as well. "Sure... That would be nice." They both enter as Alex is reading a magazine and notices the kids. "Hey there, you 2! Back home early, I still had an hour left to come get you 2. So, how did it go?" Both kids smile at each other as Ben answers. "Let's just say... it was out of this world."
