A Hero's Life Reboot EP 10: The 11th Mutant
I don't own any OCs. My version of an Antitrix Gax (Or Tentaclash in Ben's case, since he came up with a better name than just Reboot Ben's idea of just Gax) has some design bits from ShadowMoon 235's version on DeviantArt.
The team was hanging out for the day, only instead of a mission…. "TAAA-DAAA!" Clover exclaimed as she and the other girls were so in awe as Ben looked in confusion. They were standing outside the opening of an outdoor shopping center called 'The Groove'. "What…. Am I looking at?"
Alex explains to her little brother. "It's the Groove! The best, most outdoorsy, coolest Shopping center on Rodeo Drive!" "This place has all the best sales on clothes, smoothies, and everything a self-respected teen girl could want!" Sam glees out. "And don't forget…." Clover adds to her friends before they all screamed together. "THE SHOES! AAAHHH!" Ben covered his ears in pain and got an annoyed look. "What's the big deal?! We have a mall! How is that not enough?"
"Hello! The Groove has got stores that the Mall doesn't have at all! And it's grand opening week!" Sam explains. "WHICH MEANS EVERYTHING IS HALF OFF ON SALES EVERYWHERE!" The girls squealed out as they all rushed in, leaving a blinking Ben behind. "Uggg… Fine! But I still say this is a big waste of time!" The boy dragged his feet into the Groove.
Intro:
The screen is black, only for a bolt of green lightning to make a flash of white light as upbeat music is heard.
Ben stands as he is smirking at the camera as a black with green bubbles background is behind the tween, making the boy raise both his arms, show off his new Omnitrix, and then slap down with a grin, making a flash of light.
"BEN 10!"
"He's a kid and he wants to have fun!"
Upgrade with hands on hips appears as a close-up of his face shows up in the background as a bolt of lightning comes down.
Big Chill flies across and freezes as the same thing happens to Swampfire, leaping out of an explosion.
"But when you need a superhero, he gets the job done!"
"BEN 10!"
Shock Rock smashes his fists together, sending out electricity waves affecting the 4th wall.
"With A device that he wears on his arm."
"He can change his shape and save the world from harm!"
Ben poses with his Omnitrix, just as headshots of Shock Rock, Water Hazard, Big Chill, and Swampfire show up, one-by-one.
Rath was staring at Grey Matter, who hopped along a bunch of platforms with the watch symbol on it while the tiger alien was confused before it turned into rage as he held his head in anger.
"When trouble's taking place."
Ben was then running towards the screen.
"He gets right in its face!"
"BEN 10!"
Humungousaur, Slapback, Fasttrack and Upgrade's headshots show up as well!
A green circuit board background is shown as 5 aliens show up in a row while Ben is staring at the 4th wall as his right side is shown. The aliens are Shock Rock, Fasttrack, Rath, Swampfire, and 4 Slapbacks.
"When lives are on the line."
The same thing happens with his left side as more aliens appear. The aliens are now: Big Chill, Water Hazard, Grey Matter, Humungosaur, and Upgrade, which is still in normal form.
"It's hero time!"
"BEN 10!"
It ends with Ben and Alex, standing side to side with crossed arms and smirks as well as Normie and Madison on Ben's side and Sam and Clover on Alex's side the title appears above.
The kid walks around the place, noticing a lot of people and stores, even more than the mall. "Man! This place has got to be twice as big as the mall." He then noticed a game shop and went in, only to be in awe of the massive store. "Whoa! This place has got to be a treasure trove of games!" He exclaims as he explores around, finding and looking at a few games. "Guess this Groove isn't so bad after all." "HAHAHAHA!" Ben puts down the game case and looks to his right to see Jacob smirking. "And now it just got worse."
"Hey, Tennyson! Didn't expect you here at the nerd-topia. Haha!" "Oh yeah! Then why are you here Jacob? Here to get a nerd game?" Ben questions with a smirk as Jacob crosses his arms in annoyance. "For your info, I was on my way to the sports shop to get some new tape for practice!" Ben rolls his eyes as he waves it off. "Whatever! Like I care." But just then, both boys saw a giveaway for something they both wanted!
"THE SPECIAL EDITION OF SMASH BADGER KART RACER TUBRO CHARGED WITH SPECIAL LIMITED-EDITION SPACE SKINS, EXTRA CHARACTERS AND HOVERCRAFT RIDE!? FOR FREE?!" "That game is mine, twerp!" Jacob exclaims as he rushes towards it. Ben glares at him. "We'll see what Shock Rock has to say to that!" He exclaims as he quickly dives into a bush.
His right arm turns into a 4 fingered limb that is made from blue and white energy. He throws an uppercut with the arm as the rest of his body becomes the same as it. Then, rocks started to gather on him as he spun and posed, finishing the transformation.
Shock Rock moves out and focuses his energy. "Let's see if you can handle this, Mr. 'All-star player'!" He made a bunch of dogs that were barking and growling, making Jacob stop and step back in surprise as some lighting shocked him. Getting the message, he turned and took a break from it. "Ha! I love it when jerks like him run for the hills! Now for the game." Shock Rock grins out as the dogs disappear. But as he took a few steps…. "Well, well, well." The alien looks back to see, much to his surprise, Kevin leaping from a railing and lands in front with a grin.
"WHOA! Kevin?! What are you doing here!?" "Same thing as you: Looking for cool stuff for my new pad!" He glances behind him and chuckles. "Hold on! Is that the lame new kart racing game?! You play those!?" "Hey! It reminds me of Crash! And don't even think about it! I've earned this!" But the tween grew a sly smirk at the alien's words. "Wow, Tennyson. Maybe I should start playing those games if you're willing to go all bad guy on them." Shock Rock was surprised by the tween's words. "What?! You're the only bad guy around here."
"Don't you know? Being bad is all the rage! Check this out!" He pulls out a heavy metal CD with an awesome cover on it. "Whoa! That is cool! And it was easy to get the game with my powers." But just then, the alien remembers his morals as he shakes his head. "NO! No…. Got to focus on which side I'm on! If that's what being cool is all about, then I'm out! And with that rude attitude, Kevin. You'll be left in the dust, soon! Both you and that knock-off Omnitrix of yours! What do you call it, by the way, the 'Ripoff-itrix'?" But the tween smiles back. "It's the Antitrix. And you'll be left in the dust once Turbo is done with you!" He grins as he slaps on the Antitrix. FLASH
Kevin's head forms into a dark green, scaled armored helmet. His mouth became fanged as his red eyes formed. His body became a velociraptor, except armored. He wears a black sleeveless suit, exposing his red skin arms as 3 sharp black claws formed on his hands. He grew scale armor on his arms as his whip-like tail sprouted out and became armored. His elbows and knees grew sharp points. He lastly grew green armor on his knees and wheels on his feet. He forms green chest armor that has fins on his back like a fish while the Antitrix symbol appears on his chest, making him pose as the transformation finishes.
"I'll take this!" Turbo zips away with the game in claw as a red visor forms around his eyes and takes off. "YOU DON'T EVEN LIKE THAT GAME!" Shock Rock cries out as he gives chase trying to catch him as the mutant alien keeps laughing and taunting the hero. "Kevin! Quit it! It's mine!" "Oh, Tennyson! So nice of you to stop by. More like nice for me to catch up!" Turbo taunts as he makes a sharp turn. He sped past Mandy, making the Diva spin and almost drop her bags. "HEY! WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING LOSER!" "One side, Mandy!" Shock Rock shoves past her, making the rotten teen screech out in anger. Shock Rock makes an energy orb and tries to blast Kevin, but misses as it blows a hole in a sign. "Dang, it! I hate moving targets!" Shock Rock glares out.
"So, what do you think we should hit next, girls?" Clover asked her pals as they walked with arms full of bags. "Maybe we should go for sushi for a bite to eat." Alex suggestions as Sam points out. "Come on! We need to get some new shoes, stat!" Just then, Turbo zips past them, startling the teen spies. "Whoa! What was that?!" "Was that Fasttrack!?" Sam asks along with Clover. "No way! It looked more like an armored lizard. Wait! It must be Kevin! Ben told me about a speedy lizard alien named XLR8 that he used to have. And Kevin does have most of his original aliens now." Alex explains.
"Then…. Why is Kevin here?" Clover asked out. "UGGGGH!" The trio turns to see Mandy stomping up. "Did you see those freaks zip by, losers?!" "What are you talking about Mandy? That tacky outfit you're wearing screams freakishly." Clover coly mocks as Mandy grinds her teeth. "Whatever! That jerk and some energy rock thing started to ruin the Groove! They almost destroyed my purchases!"
The teen spies speak to each other at Mandy's words. "'Energy rock thing'?" Clover questions as Sam groans. "Ben…." "Hold on! Maybe Kevin caused all the damage?" Alex ponders. But Mandy wasn't convinced as she showed the hole with electricity emitting from it. "Well, how do you explain this then!?" The 3 teens stare as Clover comments. "Yep! Shock Rock was here."
"Maybe he went this way…. Or is that way…...?" Shock Rock mumbles, confused about where to go, just as the symbol blinks red, making him dive down a hidden alley and change back. "Great! Now I'm going to have a harder time, finding Kevin!" Ben huffs out as he stomps out, only to widen his eyes as he hides in a bush. "That Ben! When I find him, he's in big trouble!" He peeks out to see an angry Sam stomp past with Alex and Clover following. "Uhh… On second thought, better take the back streets. Just to be safe."
Turbo screeches to a stop as he looks back. "Looks like I lost the kid." Just then, a smell hits his nose, making him look at a nearby food court. "Food court, huh? I could use some fuel! But first, I need a change." He dives behind a tree as a red flash comes from it, making Skunkmoth fly out and swoop down, grabbing an arm full of food. "INCOMING!" He starts munching away at his food, while flying near the spies as he unknowingly drops the game, making it fall into Ben's hands. "Whoa! Talk about a lucky catch." He comments in surprise as he glances up to see Skunkmoth flying away, eating as he heads to another area. Ben frowns. "Better follow him, just to be sure he isn't causing trouble."
The girls just finished changing into their Catsuits as they moved out of the alleyway. "Okay, spies! Let's see if we can find either alien in this place." Sam spoke out as Clover noticed the bag they left behind. "Wait! Can't forget our new fashion!" But just as the girl rushes back, Skunkmoth dives out of nowhere and gunks the bags in orange slime, knocking them away as he grabs Clover and tosses her on her friends, making the bad boy chuckle. "GOTCHA! HAHAHA!"
The teens slowly recover and look around gasping in shock at the bags that are ruined as well as the items in them. "Our purchases! Ruined!" Clover cries out as Alex comforts her. Sam, on the other hand, got a furious look and turned back at the bug alien, glaring with rage. "Hey! Buddy! Do you know what you and this gunk have in common? You both stink!" "Chill out, Brainiac! It was just a joke."
The other 2 teens got up and stomped up to the alien as well. "Oh! That's funny, Buster! Maybe you should try an original for once!" Alex hisses as Clover spats out. "Oh wait! I forgot! You like copying other people! You little, street twerp!" Skunkmoth flies closer as he narrows his eyes. "What's your problem, Blondie!?" "We're looking at it, bug brain!" Sam hisses out as she grabs his horn and flips him over, giving Alex a chance to kick him away as Clover delivers a backhand that knocks him silly, changing him back. As Kevin recovers, Ben passes around a corner, only to notice the situation. "Whoa! What got the girls so angry?" He glances at the bags and figures it out. "Oh, right."
The 12-year-old rubbed his head as he spoke out. "What's the deal?! I was just having some fun!" "Well, it wasn't fun for us! I get why you're upset with Ben, but why do you like picking on my brother, anyway?! Why can't you just leave him alone, or at least talk to him?!" Alex frowns down with her hands on his hips "Yeah! Don't you, like, have anything better to do besides bothering him!? Don't you have a hobby or anything!?" Clover hisses out. "Why don't you all run back home to your parents, you bunch of valley girls!?" "AT LEAST WE HAVE PARENTS TO RUN BACK TO!" Sam roars out with anger in her tone and expression.
Ben was very surprised and worried as Kevin's current situation was very sensitive to him as evidenced by the tween looking down in mixed anger and hurt. "Uh-oh." Sam and the others saw the tween's emotions and quickly shifted to guilt as Clover hisses out. "Oopsie. I think we took it too far." "You shouldn't have said that Sammy..." Alex adds as Sam tries to speak. "Umm… Uhh... Ohh. I— I meant— Umm…" "So…. That's how it is?" Kevin glares up with pure fury. "Listen, Kevin. I didn't mean to— We didn't mean to It just slipped out!"
He dials his Antitrix as he mumbles out. "I was saving this for Tennyson. But if you all want original, I'll give you something original!" He slams his fist on the device. FLASH
The tween pumps his arms to the sides as they become engulfed in greyish tendrils, making them more buff as they transform. He spins around as his body morphs. He holds his new arms above, and 2 black and grey bat wings burst out of his back. His hair became longer and turned into tentacles. He raised his transformed head as he yelled to the heavens, he then stomped the ground, kicking up rocks for effect as he grins out and his eyes glowed crimson.
Ben's eyes widen to dinner plate proportions as he stares in surprise at the alien while sweat rolls down his head. "No… It can't be... It's not possible! Is…. That…. TENTACLASH!?" Kevin is now a towering, 15 Ft-tall alien that has greyish skin with dark spots at the end of head tendrils. His head looks like an octopus with 6 tendrils for a beard while 4 hang down his back like long dreadlocks that reach his waist. He has red eyes and black lips with sharp yellow teeth and a strange alien device around his head that has bright red bubbling water. He is wearing a sleeveless suit that is 2 different tones of red with a grey with red spikes belt around his waist. His leg armor is black with 2 toes on the boots and spiked grey knee pads with red bands and grey spikes on the side of his ankles, He has red shoulder pads on his shoulders, only 5 large metal spikes, and black fingerless gloves with spiked wrist bands. His arms are very buff and look like they are made of woven tentacles with claws on his hands. He has 2 bat-like wings on his back as well. He lastly has the Antitrix symbol on his chest.
The girls, on the other hand, were more surprised and horrified as they all exclaimed at once. "WHAT IS THAT!?" "This big guy? I think I'll call him…" He smashes his fists on the ground, tearing up the ground and making rocks raised as well as making a dust cloud that blinds the teens, making them unaware of the squid alien, grabbing them and tosses them away. "SMACKKEN!"
As the girls recover, they quickly move out of the way as he delivers a fast punch that demolishes the wall behind them into rubble. The mutant alien leaps up and smashes his foot on the ground, making an earth wave knock the girls away. As Sam stands up, she quickly ducks under a claw swipe from Smackken as he breaks a rock column into 3. "Whoa! That's amazing!" Sam mumbles in surprise, only for the alien to grab her waist, swinging her around as Smackken replies. "Tell me something I don't know!"
As Sam got tossed into a pile of trash cans, Alex and Clover leaped in from above and tried to kick him. "TAKE THIS!" But Smackken unfolds his arms into 4 tentacles on each side, crossing them together in front as they form a shield. BANG "GAAAAHHHH!" The 2 teens land on their backs as they rub their legs as pain courses through them, making them hiss. "Okay… Didn't see that coming." "And that hurt! Who knew slimy tentacles were way tougher?" Clover whines out. "I know, right!?" Smackken grins out, only to be surprised by a laser blast, making him glance to see Sam with her Laser Lipstick. "Try picking on me, big boy!"
She kept blasting, only for the alien to flap his wings and take off into the air, making Sam gaze up in surprise as his eyes glowed red and fired 2 energy beams from them that nailed the Lipstick, much to Sam's surprise. "WHOA! Super strength, amazing agility and speed, lightning-like reflexes, tentacle arms, shield, flight, and laser eyes?! How do you do these things?!" Sam exclaims in shock, only for him to respond by charging up his laser eyes again and firing rabid bursts from above, raining lasers as the girls screech as they duck and run around, trying to avoid getting blasted.
Clover saw her pack with the gadgets and tried to grab them, only for a stray beam to blast them to scrap and dust. She yipped in surprise, only for Smackken to land in front as he glared down at the blond spy. "Uhhh…I don't suppose you're willing to talk about this, right?!" Smackken merely snarls and claw swipes, making the girls duck. "I'M GUESSING NO!"
"Kevin! Calm down! You're getting out of hand!" Alex pleas as the alien roars out, sending out a shockwave that blew the girls away. "WHO CARESSSSSSSSSSSSSS?!" The roar also snapped Ben out of his trance, seeing the girls lying on the ground from the roar as he narrowed his eyes. "Please! Give me Humungousaur for once!" He pleas to the watch. FLASH
Ben holds his right arm as it morphs into the dinosaur with a punch sound. The same happened to his other limb as his spines popped out. He morphs his clothes as his green eyes shine.
"Yes! Got him right this time!" The alien rushes out as Smackken charges up his laser eyes and cracks his knuckles. "I almost feel bad for this. BUT I'LL GET OVER IT!" Smackken grins sickly as he prepares to fire out an energy beam as the girls braced themselves. But…. WHAM "GAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" Smackken screeches out as he is flung far away, disappearing over the buildings.
Alex and her friends glance to see Humungousaur bring his tail back. "Way to go, Humungousaur!" "Yeah! You totally gave that creep what for!" But as Alex and Clover cheer, Sam notices that the alien is looking with a longing look. "Ben? Are you okay?" "It's nothing. I'll…. I'll be back at the house. You 3 just enjoy your shopping." The alien walks off as the teens glance at each other and back at the alien in worriment.
Later, the kid was sitting on the front porch, staring at Shock Rock's icon with a sad look. "Ben." He glances up to see Alex standing with a look of sadness. "Is there something wrong?" She sat next as Ben glanced away. "Nothing's wrong." "Are you sure? Because you don't look fine." Ben kept silent for a few minutes, making Alex sigh and start to walk inside. But as she reaches for the doorknob…. "Tentaclash." Alex glances back with confusion. "Huh?" "That's Smackken's real name: Tentaclash. My 22nd alien." "22nd? But you said that you originally had 20 aliens when you came here." Alex pointed out as she sat back down.
"I lied. Tentaclash was originally my 2nd favorite alien, next to Feedback: My 21st Alien. I didn't know why I liked turning into Tentaclash and Feedback all the time back then. They just felt different from the others. Better, Faster, Stronger. Like they were parts of me." Ben slowly flashes back to the day that he made one of the worst mistakes ever.
[FLASHBACK]
At an old Junkyard in the woods, laser blasts and laughing filled the air. "All right! 10 for 10! Tentaclash is on fire! I still got enough left for one more- BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP FLASH "Aw man!" Ben was then seen leaving the Junkyard, slumping back to the Rust Bucket. As the boy enters the RV, he notices that his Parents, Grandpa, and Kate are there. But that's not the only surprise. "Azmuth?! Why are you here?"
Sandra spoke out first. "Ben. Sweetie. We need to talk about your aliens." "It's about Feedback and Tentaclash, son. You've been using them a lot more than necessary. And… we fear you might be addicted to them." "Your father's right, Ben. It's not healthy to depend on just 2 aliens, all the time. Even if they are pretty powerful." Max spoke out as Azmuth pointed at the boy with a warning. "If you keep overusing both the Chimerian and Conductiod DNA Samples, it will have a devastating effect on your ability to control other forms."
Ben, on the other hand, was not happy at all about what he heard. "What?! So, stop using Feedback and Tentaclash?! Forget that!" He rushes out of the camper, only for his sister to follow. "Ben! Wait!" "You made them say that, didn't you, Kate?! Because you're jealous of my powers!" "You think Azmuth would listen to me or anyone else?! You brought this upon yourself, Ben!" "I'm the one with the Omnitrix! I can turn into any alien I want, and no one can stop me! NO ONE!"
"I beg to differ." Both kids glance to the side to see Malware, the mutated Galvanic Mechamorph. He fires an energy blast from his cannon, making the youths dodge as the energy stream knocks the Rust Bucket to its side. "I am here for Azmuth." Ben stands up and glares as he dials his watch. "You picked a really bad day to mess with me, Malware!" "So, pick the right alien, bro! Remember, the only other alien that beat him was Diamondhead! And Frankenstrike can use electricity as well!"
But as Kate struggles to lift the vehicle with her powers, Ben slaps on the watch, morphing into Feedback. "YEAH!" "THIS IS A BAD TIME TO PROVE SOMETHING!" Malware fires another beam, making the alien absorb it with a grin. "Relax, sis! What goes around, comes around!" He then fires bolts of energy, only to be surprised by Malware dodging them and getting close. "Excellent idea."
The mutant alien forces Feedback to fire bolts at the Rust Bucket, making Kate pleas. "Come on, Ben! Change into Diamondhead or Frankenstrike before Malware—" "Destroys the Omnitrix?" As the alien grabs hold of Feedback, he starts yanking on the symbol, suddenly making red lines appear all over him as Feedback struggles in pain as a deadly tech noise feels the air. "Hey…. What's…. Going…. ON!?" Feedback struggles as his eye glows red, just a huge burst of red energy emerges from the symbol.
Malware then grew an extra arm and started pulling 2 things out of Feedback. After a bit of a struggle, Ben was thrown to the ground. As the boy recovers, he glances at himself in shock to see his human form. Looking up, he was more surprised to see Feedback and Tentaclash themselves. Out of the watch and in Malware's claws. "My, my… Isn't this a surprising turn of events? If I recall, these 2 are your favorite aliens, correct Benjamin? Not anymore…" The mutant then made the aliens completely red and turned into dust. As Ben watched in horror and shock, he saw Feedback and Tentaclash glance at him, giving him a small sad smile before disappearing. "NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
"Even though I'm here for Azmuth, I wish to destroy him with his most prized invention. The Omnitrix…. Now!" Ben stands up, keeping his head low as his hair and cap shadows his eyes. He twists and taps the Omnitrix in a certain combination, making the faceplate open to reveal the circuits as the watch charges up. "You want this thing so badly? TAKE IT! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Ben roars out as tears fall from his eyes, charging and punching the watch in Malware. As the watch surged green energy, the lines of the mutant glowed green.
"Yes…. YES! The power of the Omnitrix flows through me…. IT IS ME!" Suddenly, Malware starts deforming and freaking out crazy, realizing something horrible: The Omnitrix wasn't powering him, it was destroying him from the inside! "NO! Wait! It's too much! The energy is overloading me! STOOOOPPPPPPPPP!" As Ben kept hurting the mutant as he ignored his pleas, Kate watched in awe and horror as the adults all ran out. "BEN! STOP!" Max cries out as Sandra holds her hands to her mouth as Carl cries out. "SON! DON'T!"
Ben kept ignoring as he forced the Omnitrix further, crying out to the heavens as the observers watched in awe. Just then, Malware explodes, destroying him as Ben is knocked back from the blast. As the boy fell, one thought crossed his mind. 'Feedback…. Tentaclash…. I'm sorry.'
[FLASHBACK OVER]
Ben finishes up as Alex has tears in her eyes with a look of horror. "Azmuth said that even if Malware was destroyed, the damage was done. He said because of a failsafe, the Omnitrix can't accept new DNA samples from both Feedback and Tentaclash's species. That's what happened to my favorite aliens: I got too caught up with them and they're gone. And after I saw Smackken, all those memories, that I tried to forget, came rushing back. Now do you understand?" "Ben…. I'm so sorry. I didn't know how much they mean to you." Alex hugs the boy in response.
The kid walks inside as he mumbles "Yeah, well. Nothing is going to bring them back. And it's all my fault. I should have just listened to them in the 1st place, then they still will be around. Just... keep this between us, okay?" Just then, a thought crossed Alex's mind as she asked the boy. "Hey, Ben? Who's Malware?" Ben got a serious look as he glanced off with a glare. "Someone who's one of the worst of the worst. Someone you should never hope to meet." Ben walks in as Alex watches in sadness and grief. "I hope you'll be okay, little brother." The teen hoped her brother would recover soon and hopefully have closure from Feedback and Tentaclash. But she can't help but wonder about 1 question: Who is Malware?
