Chapter 14 targeted bullying

AN:TW: Body-shaming… I'm phrasing it that way because this is MY story. DEAL WITH IT. I've been body-shamed before. It's a long story. My opinion is: We should only speak to someone about how they look IF ~THEY~ ask advice or need help with something.

Abigale's point of view

2 weeks after the big blowout, Kelly and Leslie cornered me on my way back from my tutoring session with Tony and Ginny.

"You've been hanging out with other people" Kelly accused
"No, I've been getting math and science tuition, I'm trying to improve my grades because I want to make my parents proud of me. I decided to go outside of our group and look for a tutor because I believe Holly and I will clash if she tutors me. She's a nice girl, and we're friends, but she's not very patient with me. I think she'll be a very successful teacher and maybe even a principal one day, but she's not a good teacher for someone like me"

"A likely story. Who's your tutor?"
"Anthony Stark for Science and Virginia Potts for math. They're both fifth years. Tony is really patient and explains things in the way I need them to be explained and Ginny knows that I am a visual learner, so she uses counters to help me. "
"There's no helping you. You're beyond help and you're beyond redemption. I don't just mean academically, I mean across the board. Your parents will never be proud of you."

"Yeah? I'm beyond caring what you think because you're not so great yourself. You're the one who started the argument in the group. Melissa told me and Holly backed her up and so did Jill and Christi."

"You're not just beyond redemption you're a soulless blob of a human too. You're fat, you're disgusting no one is going to want to date you. You're going to be alone forever!"

"Kelly that's an awful thing to say. It's not true. Abi, I'm glad you're putting your education first"

"Thank you Leslie"

"Come on Leslie we have to go"

"OK, see you later Abi"

I decided it was time to tell Leslie my plan

Leslie's point of view

Kelly's plan terrified me. I wanted no part in it.

"Melissa, Kelly's planning to do something horrific"
"To whom?"
"Abi"
"What are you going to do?"
"She's going to try to drag me into it but I will tell her off. I'll try to stop it if I can. Just wanted to give you a heads up because Abi is going to need help"
"OK"

Kelly's point of view

"Come on Leslie you promised"
"I'm not helping you do this Kelly I think it's wrong"
"Fine, I'll ask Dawn to be my lookout instead."

"I'm not your friend Kelly. You're a horrible person and I want no part of what you are going to do, and I told Abi's friends to look out for her."

Kelly and I started fighting, she pulled my hair and punched me in the face.

Abi's point of view

Kelly was waiting for me, I didn't see her though because I was thinking about what I had just learned in English and how I was going to write my essay. She pounced grabbing me from behind. Dawn, Jeanette and a couple of the other mean girl wannabes were with her… Christ-y was not.

Tony's point of view

Ginny and I were waiting for Abi in the library… she was late for her lesson…

Suddenly, Cathy came into the library

"Are you Abi's tutors?"
"Yeah"
"She's not going to make her lesson today. She's in the infirmary. Kelly attacked her, it was awful"
"Aw that sucks. Come on Gin, let's go visit her"
"OK"

Abi's point of view

Tony and Ginny came to visit me in the Infirmary. I had my books with me and I felt OK at that point so we worked on some stuff for the upcoming tests… Tony went to check something so Ginny and I had a chat.
