A/N: Back with another chapter. Hopefully a good one but that's up for debate. Anyway enjoy the newest chapter.

Minato was relaxing with Miya when Matsu came bursting through the door to the back yard laptop in hand.
"We have a situation!" She yelled showing the laptop screen to the duo. The screen showed footage from a security camera. On the screen Akitsu stared down two men, one wore a white suit and the other wore a black suit and carried a blade.
"Mutsu." Miya said recognizing one of the men. "A former member of the first generation Discipline squad."
"He's been winged and serves the Ashikabi of the South, Mikogami Hayato." Matsu explained bringing up a second window with a picture of Hayato. "He likes to collect Sekirei that have unique abilities."
"Now he sets his eyes on Akitsu." Minato said putting the pieces together. "We need to get there before he takes her by force." He said standing up with Miya.
"Inform Karasuba. She can catch up." Miya said standing up and heading her room to retrieve her sword.
"Keep an eye them. I'll join you after I let Karasuba know." Minato told Matsu who nodded and headed back to her room. Getting up and heading for Karasuba's room, Minato entered and saw the grey haired woman wiping down her blade. The serious look Minato gave silenced whatever she was about to say.
"Akitsu is in the park. Mutsu and his Ashikabi are there to wing her." Minato told her and already she stood up grabbing her sheath. "Miya is already enroute."
"I'll catch up with her. I've been meaning to have words with Mutsu about swordplay." Karasuba said with a wide grin sheathing her sword. Minato stopped her from leaving.
"Miya will be there to help should a fight break out but you're only there for Akitsu and to bring her back." Minato told her in a stern voice. "Unless they attack first you are not to engage. Am I clear?"
"Of course." Karasuba said before leaning in and kissing him. "I'll show you what I can do should a fight break out." She said pulling back and rushing out of the room to join Miya.
Minato sighed to himself and hoped that Miya being present would be enough of a calming presence for Karasuba and a gentle reminder to her to not act out. Leaving her room and heading for Matsu's room to see their progress and to get an update.
"What's the situation?" He asked upon entering Matsu's room. Matsu is watching the monitors while Kochou tracked both Miya and Karasuba across the rooftops.
"Hayato is talking with Akitsu, offering her a place among his Sekirei." Matsu said showing him the live feed from the camera. Akitsu is listening while Hayato talks and Mutsu is off to the side with a hand casually resting on his sword. A casual threat to not try anything.
"Karasuba has caught up with Miya and the two are approaching the park." Kochou said showing him her screen of the two leaping across the rooftops at a rapid pace.
Karasuba finally caught up with Miya and saw that she is holding her sword which brought a smile to her. Seems she isn't the only one expecting a fight but she expected that simply seeing Miya present is going to discourage them from going any further with Akitsu especially after they say she is reacting to Minato.
"Remember what Minato told you." Miya said cutting through her thoughts. "We are to avoid a fight if we can but expect a fight just in case. You can never know with people like Hayato."
"Matsu and Kochou will no doubt be monitoring the area. If there are any of his Sekirei hiding waiting to strike. They'll let us know."
"I'll let you take lead. I'm here for support." Miya told her as they landed in park and took to the trees.
"How kind." Karasuba said just as they saw the trio from the trees and jumped down landing behind Akitsu surprising them and kicking up dust. When the dust settled Karasuba and Miya stood in front of Akitsu shielding her from the two men.
"Mutsu, long time." Karasuba said placing a hand on the sword hilt ready to draw it. She could feel Miya's eyes on her.
"Karasuba and… Miya?" Mutsu said with surprise upon seeing his old squad leader more so than his teammate.
"Mutsu." Miya said showing respect to him by bowing.
"So, you are winged."
"I am and you and your Ashikabi are about to take that choice away from this one." Miya said looking at Hayato who is now grinning like a madman.
"I can't believe my luck. First the discarded Sekirei and now two members of the original Discipline squad right before me." Hayato said with a smile. "And Sekirei # 1. I will offer the both of you the same offer I made to Akitsu. Join me and I'll take care of you."
"No thanks, we already have our Ashikabi." Karasuba said declining the offer and Akitsu nodded siding with them.
"That's just a title nothing more. Masters can change just like servants, different pawns can be brought onto the board even when the old ones are gone."
"That's the difference between you and our Ashikabi. You view the Sekirei like game pieces or servants and not people." Said Miya. "You just collect them and don't value them."
"Isn't that the point of this game." Hayato said looking at all three of them. "To collect pieces and use them to win. And when they get removed from the board, acquire new ones and that's what I'm doing. Assembling the perfect team to win. You three would be my aces."
"Such ambition. Good luck with that." Karasuba said shifting her gaze from Hayato to Mutsu. "Akitsu here has been reacting to our Ashikabi, she'll be coming with us."
"Imp-." Mustu began before Hayato cut him off.
"She can't be winged and once your master realizes this. He'll cast her out never to be loved again." Hayato said looking at Akitsu as he said the last part. "Come with me and I'll never cast you out. You'll be welcomed by me and the others."
"No." Akitsu said as the temperature dropped. Mutsu looked at both Miya and Karasuba, both hands on their swords ready to attack and he knew his odds of winning against the two.
Zero.
With a sigh Mutsu removed his hand from his sword and put a hand on Hayato's shoulder. "Let's go, we're outmatched."
"But I want them." Hayato complained like a child who didn't get their way.
"Too bad. Attacking them now is as good as a death sentence." Mutsu told his Ashikabi pulling him away from the trio. "We'll meet again." He said over his shoulder and the two left.
Akitsu relaxed now that Hayato and Mutsu are gone and the temperature returned to normal. "Are you two really from my Ashikabi?"
Karasuba and Miya turned to face Akitsu. "Yes, we're here to take you to him." Miya told her.
"What if… if I can't be winged?" Akitsu whispered though Miya and Karasuba heard it.
"You'll still be welcomed to stay by him." Miya said.
"Let's get going." Karasuba said disappointed a fight didn't happen. "Minato wants to speak to you."
"Minato…" Akitsu tested the name of her hopefully future Ashikabi. "Let's go."
Minato smiled as the three woman left the park without incident. "Where is Hayato?"
"In a limo heading back to his tower." Kochou said while tracking the limo. "Safe to say we haven't seen the last of him."
"Queary: Is it wise to leave him alive master." HK asked from his spot.
"No, as long as he stays in the south and doesn't attack we'll leave him." Minato said looking at the map of the city. "His time will come."
"Statement: That is a mistake, master. Leaving him alive will hinder us in the future. Allowing him to build his forces and strike."
"HK is right in this matter." Matsu said turning in her seat to look at Minato. "It would be wise to deal with him like Higa."
"Let's send him a warning then." Minato said with a smirk that mirrored Matsu's and Kochou.
"How certain are you that you can win against them?" Hayato asked his Sekirei, Mutsu.
"One on one? Zero chances. Together? Zero." Mutsu answered honestly. "Before Miya got winged, maybe. But now? No chance. We would need the all the Sekirei to even have a chance against her."
"What if we distract her?"
"Maybe, it's a small chance though. I can't say we'll win for certain." Mutsu said looking out the window to the passing buildings when Hayato's phone rang.
"Yes?" Hayato answered the phone.
"Hello, Hayato. This is Minato, Ashikabi of the North and to Miya and Karasuba."
Hayato's grip on the phone tensed. "What do you want?"
"A word of warning. Don't come to the North unless you wish to fight. You've heard what happened to Higa?"
"Yes."
"That was my first and only warning to him. Consider this the same."
Hayato was about to retort when the call ended leaving him staring at the blank screen. He tsked and put the phone away.
"Looks like someone has set the game to hard mode." Hayato said looking at the city scape and earning a look from Mutsu.
Minato decided to wait in the living room leaving Matsu and Kochou to their own devices without disturbing them. Entering the living room and taking a seat he played the waiting game and he didn't need to wait long, Miya and Karasuba entered the room followed by Akitsu looking at her surroundings.
"I'm glad that things didn't turn for the worse." Minato said welcoming them back. "I even sent Hayato a warning just in case he gets any ideas."
"I think sending Miya is warning enough to not come back." Karasuba said leaning her sword against the wall and taking a seat while Miya sat next to Minato leaving Akitsu the only one standing who shuffled nervously in her spot.
"Are you alright?" Minato asked seeing her shuffle.
"I'm…fine." Akitsu said looking at him.
"Do you feel anything towards me?" Minato asked.
She nodded. "A little, it's there but faint. It feels warm."
Minato stood up and walked towards Akitsu, she didn't react the way the other Sekirei would have. If he hadn't dreamed about her then he would've assumed that he isn't her Ashikabi. Standing before her, he reached up and brushed her bangs away revealing the Sekirei crest on her forehead. This caused Akitsu to lower her head in an attempt to hide the crest that caused her shame.
"It's ok." Minato told her placing a hand under her chin and lifting her face up. "Do you accept me as your Ashikabi?"
"Yes." Akitsu whispered closing her eyes and pressing her lips against his. Minato could feel her cold lips against his and he returned the kiss feeling something trying to connect to him but something was blocking it. Using the Force to connect with her mind, he could feel something is amiss trying to correct itself but couldn't. Like a gear being slotted into a wrong slot and is trying to work with the rest but can't. So he deepened the kiss while using the Force to try and heal whatever is afflicting her.
Akitsu gripped his arm tightly and groaned feeling her core heat up and Minato could feel it as well. Slowly the gear is righting itself until its properly aligned.
A bright light emanated from Akitsu and Minato broke the kiss hearing the sound of ice cracking, opening his eyes revealed Akitsu smiling as the crest on her forehead is gone and a pair of pale blue wings like icicles fluttered happily sending small snow flakes to the ground where they melted.
"Pledge of ice, protect my Ashikabi from those that wish them harm and shatter their foes." Akitsu said with a warm smile and opened her eyes as her wings disappeared. "My Ashikabi." She again kissed him and this time he felt only warmth from her instead of coldness.
"Thank you."
"Incredible." Miya whispered looking at the two of them. Ever since the incident that took away her ability to be winged, Akitsu became a cautionary tale to the other Sekirei about what can happen when an attempted winging goes wrong. Yet, here she stands with their Ashikabi winged to him. Such an incredible sight to see. "I'll prepare a room for her. Follow me."
Miya led Akitsu out of the living room to find a room for her. Before she left Akitsu looked at Minato again with a smile before leaving.
"Now, MBI is going to be watching you more than before." Said Karasuba crossing her arms under her chest.
"Like they haven't before?" Asks Minato looking at her. "What will this change?"
"You don't understand just how much of a threat you present to the Director's little game." Karasuba said. "First you wing Miya, Matsu, me, and if things pan out Kazehana as well. That's almost the entire first generation Discipline Squad."
Minato remained silent as Karasuba continued.
"That makes you a powerful threat already to MBI, then there is the attack on Higa, that alerted them to what actions you are going to take." Karasuba listed off his actions. "Finally you wing Akitsu, who for the longest time has been thought unwingable until now. I bet the Director is hiding his worry behind his usual façade."
"He should be. Once the second stage begins and all the Sekirei are out. We'll storm the tower." Minato said.
Karasuba smiled at that. "I do look forward to bringing that tower to the ground."
"You and Miya, both." Minato said knowing how she feels about the tower. "A monument to the exploitation of my people." She once told him. "What's this about Kazehana?"
"You haven't noticed?" Karasuba asked, a small smirk growing. "Surprising, usually you're so perceptive. She's reacting to you and is in denial."
"Miya told me her reasons on why she drinks." Minato recalled what Miya told him. "Not that she's reacting to me."
Karasuba smiled as she uncrossed her arms. "Well, she is and doing her best to ignore the call happening to her right now."
"That's her choice."
"Hmm." Karasuba said before leaving the room. "I wonder how long before she folds." She said to herself but still loud enough for him to hear. Moments after she left Miya and Akitsu returned to the room. Akitsu, now wearing clothes that looked like they belonged to Matsu, though not one of her dresses he noted. Just a simple white button up shirt and black tights.
"Akitsu is set up with her room and Matsu was kind enough to give her some of her clothes." Miya told him and he could see the joy in Akitsu as she walked over and stood beside him. "Kochou is going to be helping me with dinner tonight."
Miya headed for the kitchen leaving the two of them alone. Minato took a seat as did Akitsu, choosing a spot right next to him not wanting to leave his side just yet. She is happy in this moment after being told by countless people at MBI and her fellow Sekirei not wanting anything to do with her or calling her wingless whenever they passed by her room. Even though she was asleep she could still hear them faintly.
"How are you doing?" Minato asks.
"Happy." Akitsu said with a warm smile. "After so long of being told that I couldn't be winged. I was to be forever alone according to my fellow Sekirei. Yet, here I am with my Ashikabi." She said shuffling closer to him and resting her head on his shoulder.
"I'm glad." He told her causing another smile to appear on her face. The two remained in that position until they heard the door open and the Lightning twins entered the living room and stopped when they saw Akitsu sitting beside him without the mark on her forehead.
"Akitsu!?" They both said at the same time in shock.
"Hello." Akitsu said looking at the twins. "It's good to see the two of you again."
"What are you doing here?" Hikari asks confused as to why the scraped number is here at the inn.
"Sitting with my Ashikabi." Akitsu stated with a glare.
"That's impossible." Hikari said crossing her arms. "You can't be winged. So why are you here."
"Hikari…" Hibiki whispered feeling the temperature drop in the room.
"Akitsu. It's ok." Minato said holding her hand and the temperature went back to normal. "She is my Sekirei and I would appreciate it if you didn't speak to her like that."
"How?" Hibiki asked curious and to avoid her sister causing a scene. Akitsu is a single number after, making her powerful even before the winging. "We always heard that she couldn't be winged."
"Don't believe everything you hear." Akitsu told them standing up and unbuttoning her shirt making the twins blush as she turned around and lowered her shirt to show them the Sekirei crest on her back. "Does this answer your question?"
Both Hikari and Hibiki nodded speechless at the sight of a winged Akitsu who rebuttoned her shirt and sat back down.
"How is your search going?" Minato asks changing the subject to the twins.
"Slow." Hikari said closing her eyes and sighing to herself.
"We felt a strong reaction but nothing sense." Hibiki said placing her hands on her hips. "We tried to find the person but nothing."
"We might as well go with Seo at this point." Hikari said disappointed with the notion of going with Seo.
"We might have t-"
Hibiki stopped mid-sentence as did her sister and both started breathing heavily. They are reacting to someone close and based on their reactions getting closer. Minato wondered who it could be since the only two people staying at the Inn are Chiho and Yukari. Meaning one of them is near and judging from how the twins are reacting means a strong connection.
"That smells good." Yukari said from the entryway solving the question as to who is their Ashikabi. She walked into the living room and froze when she saw Hikari and Hibiki breathing heavily and using the walls for support. "What…is going on?"
"You wanted answers about what is going on in the city."
"Yeah, but that doesn't explain this." She said pointing to the twins looking at her with hungry eyes. "Why are they looking at me like that?"
"Ask them." Minato simply said with a knowing smirk.
Yukari glared at him before looking at Hikari. "Why are you looking at me like I'm a piece of meat?"
"You're our Ashikabi." Hikari said in between breathes.
"Ashi-Hey!" Yukari didn't notice Hibiki sneak behind her and wrap her arms around her like a snake coiling around its prey. "Are you going to do anything?" She asked Minato who shook his head.
Yukari tried to break free but couldn't thanks to Hibiki's hold and Hikari grabbed her face holding her still and leaned in kissing her.
"Mmmph." Yukari felt Hikari's lips against her own. She saw how a pair of wings emerged from her back, purple with hints of blue and lightning traveling through the wings almost like the wings are containing them.
Hikari let go of Yukari and sighed opening her eyes. "We're the pledged thunderclap. No disaster will hit our Ashikabi."
"My turn." Hibiki said letting go of Yukari and turning her head to kiss her as well. This time Yukari responded to the kiss actually embracing Hibiki as her wings emerged, the two ended the kiss and Hibiki repeated the pledge her sister did. Shortly after the winging Yukari's phone rang, answering it Minato expected to hear the Director but instead her mother's voice could be heard over the phone.
"Yukari Sahashi, do you have any idea what you've gotten into!?"
"I don't, but care to explain?!" Yukari yelled into her phone causing both the twins to wince at her tone and judging from their expression worried they did something wrong.
"Can you take your call somewhere else?" Minato asked Yukari drawing her gaze to him. "You're disturbing the other guests and it sounds like this conversation should be held in private."
Yukari didn't say anything and left the room leaving her Sekirei behind unsure if they should follow or not, in the end they decided to not follow to give their new Ashikabi some privacy.
"Looks like you both found your Ashikabi." Minato said looking at the twins who wore smiles.
"I never would've thought it would be the daughter of Takami." Hikari said and her sister nodded in agreement.
"Should we be worried about Takami?" Hibiki asked.
Minato shook his head. "She knew what would happen when she sent her daughter here. I don't know what she expected."
Just then Yukari entered the room looking tired and sat down at the table. She gestured for the twins to take a seat and they sat down next to her.
"Firstly." Yukari said getting a glint in her eye that reminded him of Matsu whenever she gets in the mood. She started groping Hikari's breasts making her moan and Hibiki to blush.
"Please refrain from that until you're in your room." Miya said entering the room carrying a serving tray will tea. She smiled sweetly but behind that smile lurked a demon and her signature hannya mask appeared behind her scaring the trio and Yukari to stop groping. "I understand you want to get closer but please do refrain from such activities in the eating area."
"Sorry." Yukari said bowing as did her Sekirei.
Miya set down the tray and set out cups filled with tea for everyone. "Has your mother filled you in on everything?"
"She has." Yukari said taking her cup and sipping it. "She also said that the 'second stage is coming in the next few days.'" She informed them while doing an impression of her mother which made the twins smile.
"She doesn't know the exact date?" Minato asks after taking a sip of his tea.
"No, she told me that I'll be safe here." Yukari told him. "Miya and the others are your Sekirei, right?"
"Yes, we are." Miya said taking a sip of her tea. "It'll be safer here in the North than in other parts of the city since this is our territory and the other Ashikabi's know this."
"Others?" Yukari asks curious since her mother didn't tell her everything that is going in the city.
"Currently there are three Ashikabi's that reside in different parts of the city that have already winged multiple Sekirei, some against their will." Miya explained and Yukari eyes hardened at the notion of forced wingings.
"So, some creeps are out there forcing Sekrei to be winged against their will?" Yukari asked and both Minato and Miya nodded. "That's sickening and wrong."
Both Hikari and Hibiki smiled and nodded agreeing with their Ashikabi.
"Yes, it is." Minato agreed. "That's why we spread the word among the unwinged that the North is currently a safe haven for them."
"And how did you do that?"
"One of our regular's told them and I already attacked the Ashikabi of the East and reminded the one in the South about the incident." Minato said looking at Yukari.
"So, you're the reason Higa is in the hospital." Yukari said and Minato nodded. "Aren't you worried about retaliation?"
"Of course, but I warned Higa against it otherwise his dirty laundry will be exposed for the world to see." Minato said and Yukari nodded.
"But what happens when he gets desperate."
"Then I make good on my promise." Minato said looking at Yukari making her swallow nervously." But enough about that. What are your plans now that you know about what's going on?"
Yukari thought about it for a while then gave an answer. "I'm going to patrol the city and make sure that creeps aren't forcing the Sekirei to wing. And spread the word about the North."
"I'm sure Homura will appreciate the help." Minato said spotting him leaning out from behind a corner who retreated when spotted. "He's been alone in patrolling the city, but he can't be everywhere even with the help we give him."
"And besides maybe I can even find a bishounen." Yukari whispered blushing. "I can dress him up in all kinds of dresses and take photos." She started to get a nosebleed as her imagination took off worrying her Sekirei as they scrambled to find a napkin to halt the bleeding.
"I feel sorry for Shiina." Miya said with a smile and sipped her tea.
Inside MBI tower Shiina who is playing with Kusano felt a sudden chill go up his spine causing him to shiver.
"Are you ok, Shiina?" Kusano asks with a tilt of her head. "You're not getting sick are you?"
"I'm fine, Kusano." Shiina told her. "Just a felt something that caused me to shiver."
"Was it your Ashikabi?"
"Maybe, I did feel something moments ago." Shiina said just as the door opened and in walked Takami looking angry. 'Hopefully not at us.'
"Blasted Yukari, making trouble for me again." Takami mumbled under her breath causing both Shiina and Kusano to wonder who Yukari is and what she did to make Takami angry.
"What's the matter, Takami?" Kusano asks curious as to why her adjuster is in such a bad mood.
"My daughter decided to try my nerves once again." Takami said waving her hand dismissively. "Pay no it no mind. Are you two ready?"
"Uh-huh." Kusano nodded eagerly causing Shiina to smile at her eagerness. "I'm ready to be grown up."
"Are you sure? I was going to take you to the park today to see the trees before you went into the tank." Takami said and Kusano huffed thinking about her options.
"Will I see the trees when I grow up?"
"Yes, you will." Takami said with a warm smile seeing Kusano brought up memories of Yukari as a child before she grew up.
"Then I'll grow up first and see the trees." Kusano declared and Takami nodded.
"As you wish." Takami said holding out her hands to the both of them. "Let's go."
Both Shiina and Kusano each grabbed Takami's hand and she led them out of the room. After a short walk they entered another room, on each side are tanks filled with young Sekirei like them undergoing the maturation process. Takami led them to two empty tanks side by side.
"Remove your clothes and step into the tanks." Takami instructed them as she let go of their hands and went to a computer to give them some privacy while they undressed and stepped into the tanks.
Once inside the tank lid lowered sealing them inside and a gas released knocking them out so they don't panic when the tanks start to fill with liquid.
Takami entered their data and hit enter beginning the maturation process for the both of them. She walked in front of tanks and sighed hoping that once the second stage begins Minato and the rest of Izumo Inn bring down this cursed tower and the Director.
"May you both find your Ashikabi in the North." Takami said placing her hands on both of the tanks before leaving the room so the young Sekirei can grow in peace.
Higa sat alone in his office ignoring the repeated calls from the board members to meet with them. They didn't understand what is going on nor would they. All they cared about is money and making sure they stayed in power. The break in caused by that blasted Ashikabi of the North caused them worry as did his current state.
He looked down seeing his missing arm still feeling his fingers that are no longer there. His rolled up sleeve served as a reminder of that blasted man, he could've gotten a prosthetic but he didn't want one. Seeing his missing limb only fueled his desire for revenge and thanks to a bribe to an MBI technician he knows the man behind the mask.
Minato and Izumo Inn.
"Excuse me, sir. There is a Mikogami Hayato on the line for you." His assistant's voice said over the intercom.
Higa is surprised that Mikogami is calling for him considering that the two hardly know each other. "I'll take the call." He said pressing the button accepting the call. "What do you want Mikogami?"
"I just had a run in with a very interesting group of individuals under the command of the Ashikabi of the North." Mikogami said getting Higa's attention.
"Then you know to be careful of him." Higa said feeling another surge of phantom pain. "He makes good on his promise."
"Considering what happened to you, I'll make a note of it."
"Why are you calling?" Higa asked frustrated at the brat at his comment.
"I'd like to propose an alliance." Mikogami said. Of all the things the brat could've said that one isn't what Higa is expecting. "Judging from your silence, I need to expand more. The Ashikabi of the North is already a powerful individual with the Number 1 Sekirei winged to him. Add to that his already impressive group consisting of three members of the 1st Discipline squad according to my Sekirei and sources within MBI."
"Get to the point." Higa said impatiently.
"So impatient, Minato and his Sekirei are more of a boss right now than MBI and no doubt we will have to fight them when the time comes. If we combine our forces and resources along with pawns we can recruit we should be able to overcome them and take them down."
"You underestimate Minato. He has abilities that make him a powerful foe."
"Everyone has a weakness, no matter how powerful they are." Mikogami said so simply. "It's just a matter of finding it and exploiting it."
"You make it sound so easy." Higa stated.
"That's because it is and after we take out Minato and his Sekirei we can deal with MBI." Mikogami said with a sigh. "Of course, this all hinders on your agreement to an alliance."
"We'll have to be careful since Minato has two hackers at his disposal." Higa said thinking back to his encounter. "I can't make any moves without them noticing."
"Leave that to me, I'll persuade the other Ashikabi's to aid us."
"Then you have an agreement to an alliance." Higa said and he could practically hear the smile that Mikogami is wearing.
"Excellent, I'll get started on my end." Mikogami said. "I'll see about recruiting Sanada. The more help we have the better our chances are going to be when the final fight comes."
And with that Mikogami hung up and Higa walked to the window overlooking the city. He looked to the North and clenched his fist.
A/N: It's funny but I had a thought while writing this chapter. I could've written this as a one shot and just call it good. After Minato saves Musubi Karasuba could've followed him and snuck aboard the Ebon Hawk and after emerging, tells him about the plan and together they attack MBI before they know about him ending the plan and the Director.
