Author's Note: Happy birthday to our serial killer idol princess, Ruri Hijiribe! We check in on Anri and her unborn child. I wrote this last year when I was working on an ASMR ambiance project. I figured that I would post it as part of this side story. I like how this one turned out. I might post more from the project later. Speaking of which, we only have three birthdays left for the year. That means three more bites left. Next up will be Anri's birthday. That's going to be on Halloween. That means you will get that and the Halloween special this. Look forward to that. For now, enjoy this latest bite.

Girls' Talk in the Night Onsen

Anri felt out of place in this onsen. She put her hand to her stomach. Was it okay for her to be here? The girl didn't know why they invited her out here. She could feel Charlotte and Lorelei's eyes on her back. The former was probably ready to pounce on her. She could picture Charlotte licking her lips.

"You wanted to see me?" Anri asked.

"Yeah," Charlotte said. Saika's holder turned around. Lanterns lit up the night around the three girls.

"Come closer," Lorelei said.

"No, I'm fine," Anri said. She didn't pay any attention to the crickets chirping around them. The girl couldn't see them too well without her glasses.

"What did you want to tell me?" Anri asked.

"Oh yes," Charlotte said. Saika's mother had a feeling where this was heading. She held her hand to her stomach.

"You haven't told him yet, have you?" Charlotte asked. Anri lowered her eyes.

"You can't keep this from him," Lorelei said.

"I know," the girl said.

"Has he sensed anything yet?" Charlotte asked.

"I don't know," Anri said. She felt cold despite being in the hot springs. The ghosts looked at each other. Maybe pull it back some.

"Are you okay?" Charlotte asked. Anri pressed her lips together.

"I'm fine," she said. There was something off about this place. Time didn't seem to exist here. On the surface, they were just three girls in a typical outdoor onsen. This place wouldn't be out of place in a Japanese inn in the mountains. But how did they get into the mountains to this onsen so quickly? They were in the city only moments earlier. How was this even possible? Anri took a quick glance around her. The trees and wooden shelter seemed to hide this onsen from prying eyes. Even the mini lanterns added to the atmosphere around them. She could feel the hot water against her skin. Still, Anri had a creeping feeling in the pit of her stomach. She wasn't really supposed to be here. Anri couldn't explain how she was able to get here in the first place without being dead. Though, she had a guess as she looked down at her abdomen.

Lorelei reached over to the wooden tray sitting next to her and poured herself another cup. She closed her eyes and took a sip. The cabaret girl shivered.

"Mmm!" Lorelei said.

"Get me some," Charlotte said. Her colleague opened her eyes and looked at her.

"Sure," she said. Lorelei poured her a cup and passed it to her.

"Thanks," her colleague said. She took a sip of her cup.

"Hm, needs more sugar," she said. Lorelei wrinkled her nose.

"Well excuse me for not getting enough before I was kicked out of the kitchen," she hissed.

"Whatever," Charlotte murmured as she took another drink. Lorelei turned her attention to Anri.

"Would you like some?" she asked. "Don't worry. There's no alcohol in it." Anri stared at her for a moment.

"It's just tea," Lorelei said. "See?" She took another sip of the cup. Anri didn't speak at first.

"S-Sure," she said in a low voice.

"Alright," Lorelei said. She poured a third cup and handed it out to the human girl.

"Here you go," she said. Anri leaned in and took the cup.

"And don't worry," Charlotte said. "You won't end up trapped here with us. You aren't going to be like Persephone."

"Huh?" the girl asked with a puzzled look on her face. Lorelei nudged her in the side with her elbow.

"Ow!" Charlotte said.

"Knock it off," her colleague hissed.

"Bitch," she hissed back. Anri watched them before taking a little sip. The girl shivered at the taste.

"How is it?" Lorelei asked.

"It's a little bit too bitter," the human girl said.

"Told you," Charlotte said.

"Shut up," her colleague hissed.

Meanwhile from the bushes, someone was watching the ladies. They looked through a pair of binoculars.

"What do we have here?" they asked. Their eyes feasted on the two blondes in the steamy outdoor bath. The one with lighter blonde hair spoke as she waved her hand in the air. The other blonde listened quietly. They loved to watch the ladies whenever they came out to this onsen. They fantasized about the time when they would have the courage to go up and talk to them. But they were rather shy.

"Oh? What is this?" The binoculars turned to Anri on the other side. They are curious just by looking at her. Their eyes grew wide.

"A human!" they said. Wait… What was a human doing in this place? They couldn't feel her soul leaking out of her body. So, she wasn't dying. Then… how? They looked down at her stomach.

"Oh! That would explain it," they said.

Back in the onsen, Charlotte looked up with a start.

"What is it?" Lorelei whispered. Her colleague pointed towards the bushes out near the trees. The other cabaret girl narrowed her eyes as she looked out in the guided direction.

"Oh," she said in a flat told.

"What is it?" Anri asked. The women looked at each other for a moment.

"Oh, it's just a little friend of ours who spies on us when we come out here," Lorelei said nonchalantly. Anri started to panic.

"What?!" she yelped. Charlotte was quick to shush her.

"Don't worry, don't worry," she said. "He's too shy to come out and deep anything to us." Anri sat blinking.

"Does he always do this?" she asked.

"Yes," the cabaret girls said in unison. Anri looked uneasy as she moved her hand to her stomach.

"Aw, come here," Charlotte said. The third girl crawled over blindly towards the ghost woman. Charlotte pulled her in and held her close. Anri broke down trembling next to her. The cabaret woman felt so warm and smelt like baby powder. Charlotte moved her head to her chest.

"Better?" she asked.

"A little bit," Anri said. The cabaret girl held her like that for a while. Even Lorelei cuddled up to the girl's other side. After all, we couldn't have her being stressed for the next few weeks.
