CHAPTER #11. Trouble For The Heavenly Heroes
Deep in the bowels of the Earth in one of the most terrifying places. The domain of Hell. Place of its ruler and master and the rival of God... The Devil.
"It took a lot of mystical work of my power and flaming but I finally was able to temporarily break my accursed Rival's edict on him. Arise Hartwig! Your master commands you!" The Devil shouts.
From a fiery pit an evil glove is seen and the figure of Irv Hartwig emerges. The very man who once raped Sylvia Webb but was defeated by her and her husband Albert in a recent battle.
"Master?" Hartwig exclaims as he opens his eyes.
"Silence! You fool! I temporarily reverse my enemy's edict on you but it's only temporary it will only last for at least 24 to 48 hours. But it will be enough that way you can eliminate my enemy's Heavenly heroes," The devil says.
"How Master? I'm anxious to get my hands on that bitch and bastard Sylvia and Albert again," Hartwig asks angrily clenching his fist.
"You will my pupil and these two will also help you!" The Devil replies, "Arise my other two servents!"
Coming up from the flames two fiery objects appear and then the objects take shape. It is Joe Quinn, Albert's true father the one who mistreated him after blaming him for his wife's death. It was his cruelty that forced Albert to begin a life of hardship until Albert was rescued and adopted by Charles Ingalls and his family.
The second is Mel Barnes the misogyny killer who died after trying to kill Syl Quinn and his bullet backfired on him when Syl and Al stopped him from killing another woman in Virginia City after Hoss Cartwright urgently called them there.
"So my three pupils you will go back upwards and smite the Heavenly heroes of He who I hate the most. Also I will see to it that I will deprive them of their abilities to receive their powers from my enemy and then you three can torment them first. You will finish them by bringing them down here to me! Do you understand?" The dark Prince asks.
Joe Quinn speaks first, "Understood Master I've been wanting to get back at my 'boy' he tricked me once. What a good way to get at him now. Plus I see that he is married and has a family now."
Mel Barnes then speaks, "I want to get back at that woman who killed me. I just hate women! Master! I'll be honored to serve you I may be able to kill some more women up there before I get to her!" Saying in a snarky fashion.
The Devil in a way smiles at his three pupils. He holds out His right hand flames go to all three of His servants and powering them, "Go my three servants! Serve your master and destroy those who are the servants of My enemy!" The Devil shouts.
The three evil men become balls of fire and then they blast up through the cabins of the Earth heading straight to the surface vengeance in their eyes!
"This time Albert and Sylvia both of you and your two children will finally be obliterated!" Hartwig shouts.
Hector Webb, Al and his family are now home and had their dinner of fish that the children caught while fishing. The family is now sleeping and getting well rested for Church the next day. A Church picnic is planned for the whole Church family.
Over at the Wilder's Boarding House the Wilder family is also sleeping. Mel Barnes one of the Devil's servants the one who has a hatred for women is roaming the premises saying to himself, "I heard that woman, Syl who had me killed has a sister in law, Laura who lives here. She is also going to die at my hands!"
Also at the Quinn/Webb Farm Hartwig, Sylvia's rapist and Joe Quinn, Albert's real Pa is stacking out the place as Hartwig says, "Albert, Sylvia I'm back and I have friends to help me this time you will NOT win this time!"
Joe Quinn adds, "Albert, my boy. You where the reason my wife died and now you and your family will pay!"
The next morning the Wilder family and the Ingalls family (Heavenly Family) both have their breakfast and head off to Church with their food that they plan to have at the Church wide picnic. As Hector Webb, Al, Syl and the children are heading off to Church in the wagon Syl mentions, "I don't know what it is but I have a feeling that something is going to happen today at Church."
Al asks, "Like what my love?"
Syl answers, "I don't know I just have that feeling. We should be alert."
"Ok," Al replies.
Arriving at Church the Church bell is ringing and everyone is heading inside.
The Wilder Family are the last ones up the stairs with Laura lagging a little behind. Just as she is about to go up the stairs Laura's bonnet flies from her head and tumbles down the street.
"I'll be right in Manly, let me get my bonnet," Laura says.
"Okay Beth, we'll see you inside," Almanzo says.
Laura manages to do a short run and grabs her bonnet. As she turns to go back to the Church Mel Barnes is able to capture her before she enters the Church building. Laura's husband, Almanzo and her children didn't see Mel Barnes snatch Laura because they were already inside.
Mel Barnes takes Laura heading to the Ice House. At first hand gagging her. As she struggles Laura manages to yell and screams, "Who are you? Let me go! Almanzo help!"
None hears Laura because they are all inside the Church and started to sing, "Bringing In The Sheaves." As they are singing Jenny Wilder looks around than asks, "Uncle Almanzo where is Aunt Laura?"
Almanzo answers, "She is right here beside me." Than Almanzo looks to his left but Laura isn't there and says, "I thought she was here."
The congregation finishes their singing and sits down and Almanzo leans forward taps Albert on the shoulder who is sitting in front of him, "Albert, brother in law. My wife, your sister is missing. I don't know where she is."
Sylvia overhears and says, "I will go look for her."
Syl goes outside to look for her sister in law, Laura. Syl doesn't see anything at first.
Meanwhile in the Ice House Mel Barnes is attacking Laura. First he kisses her like he did to Eleanor in Virginia City. Laura is fighting him but to no avail.
Syl approaches the Ice House she sees Laura's bonnet by the door which is open so she walks over to it and hears Laura's screams, "You just wait till my husband and the rest of my family gets their hands on you!"
Mel Barnes says, who has Laura pinned against one of the walls of ice "You will be dead before that!" as he looks at her like a maniac.
Just than Syl walks in the Ice House sees the man kissing and about to start choke Laura and Syl says, "Let go of my sister in law!"
The man looks up and sees Syl and Mel Barnes says, "You... It's you! You had me killed! The Devil brought me back to get vengeance and 2 others to help."
Syl also says immediately, "You!... I can think of someone else who the Devil might bring back that evil Hartwig but who else?"
"That doesn't matter right now," Mel Barnes begins to say with a evil laugh, "First your pretty sister in law is going to die and than you!"
"LET HER GO!" Syl says as she charges toward him.
As Syl charges Laura manages to hit the evil man in the face enabling her to break away to the side just as Syl tackles the evil man grabbing him.
"Run Laura! Run!" Syl yells as she takes him up straight up into the air breaking through the roof of the Ice House.
Laura gets out of the Ice house and runs straight to the Church just as Almanzo and some of the congregation come out of the Church.
"Beth! What happened?" Almanzo asks as he is reunited with his wife.
"A crazy man attacked me! He took me to the Ice house and was about to kill me. Syl stopped him! She took him into the air. She's fighting him." Laura says, still shaken by the ordeal.
Al looks up and sees his wife high in the air fighting, "Matthew, you and your sister stay at the Church protect the congregation."
Al runs and takes to the air heading toward the battle.
"We will Pa!" Matthew says.
"Folks, please go back into the Church you all will be safe there," Olivia says.
The congregation including Laura and Almanzo go back into the Church.
"Oh Manly, can Al and Syl still stop him?" Laura says with concern on her face.
"I hope so Beth, Al and Syl has to win," Almanzo says.
Reverend Alden is at the top of the stairs at the Church door and says, "They have the Lord on their side Laura and Almanzo."
Once the congregation is back in the Church. Matthew and Olivia guard the Church.
Meanwhile in the air Syl is engaging that evil Mel Barnes in combat. She gives him a right punch and knocks him back. Then the evil man charges at the Godly powered woman slapping her with his hand that is blazing with fire knocking her back.
"WhooHoo! I didn't know that I had this much power thanks to Satan!" The cowboy says intoxicated with the Devil's power. He charges forth again tackling Syl and puts his fiery hands around her throat beginning to choke her.
Even through it's the middle of the day not quite 12 noon the sky all of sudden goes black and Syl although she is Godly invulnerable is slowly beginning to feel pain of the heat around her throat. She grabs the killer's wrists. Trying to break free of his grip. She notices her ring is glowing brightly but is fading out quickly.
"What's wrong?" Syl is thinking to herself in confusion.
Al is almost to his wife not noticing the blackness coming in the sky because all he wanted to do was to get to his wife, "Hold on darling! I'm coming!"
Al is almost at the battle but is suddenly punched by someone, "Argghh!" Al is stung by the blow.
"Hello 'boy'! Happy to see me?" Joe Quinn asks.
"What?...'Pa'?" Al says, his eyes can't believe what he is seeing.
"Yeah, you no good excuse of a boy. Even as a man you're nothing. If it wasn't for you my wife would be alive. I also know you tricked me at that time that you went with that no good Charles Ingalls, "You wasn't blind. Well boy it's time to pay you back!'
With that Joe Quinn hits Al again with another punch. Knocking him back.
Al thinks for a minute, he knows his father never loved him. No doubt he is working for the Devil. He looks in the distance he sees his wife still fighting with Barnes. He has to go to her.
Al charges at his 'Pa' and lands a good solid punch.
"Hit your own flesh and blood eh boy? Quinn asks with fire in his voice.
Al, eyes blazing with anger replies, "I may have your last name but you're not my flesh and blood, not anymore! I have a Pa. His name is Charles Ingalls and I love him and he loves me!"
"Ok Boy, it really doesn't matter to me cuz after we get rid of you we'll get rid of him and your whole family!"
Al angrily charges at Joe Quinn but he is hit again by an unknown fist knocking him back, "Well, Al or I should say Albert! I'm joining this party now." Hartwig appears next to Joe Quinn.
"Hartwig! I should have known!.. but how was you able to escape God's edict?" Al asked confused.
"My master that's how. It may be limited in time but at least I will have the satisfaction of defeating you and your wife then we'll get at your children!" Hartwig gloats.
Al is about to attack but then he suddenly starts to feel weak, "What is going on?" Al says looking at his magic wedding ring it is glowing brightly but also like Syl's ring it quickly begins to fade out.
"Look above you bastard!" Hartwig chuckled again.
Al looks up and he sees a blackness that is covering all of the clouds in the sky the blackness seems to be originating from somewhere on the earth and being released into the air. He knows that the clouds of God gives him and his family their power now it seems to be weakening.
Both Hartwig and Quinn both rush forward and punches the Heavenly Hero at the same time knocking him down towards the ground. Al hits the ground. Although he survived the fall Al due to his power weakening is almost unconscious, "Syl... Sylvia...Al groans and he goes unconscious.
Meanwhile Mel Barnes has choked Syl into almost unconsciousness. He doesn't finish his job killing her as per instructions by the Devil. Seeing Quinn and Hartwig in the distance knowing they've done their job. He then with a heave throws the woman Angel to the ground. Syl lands a few feet from Al. Syl weakly crawls to her husband and lies unconsciously holding her husband's hand, "Ch... Children!" She weakly groans and Syl passes out.
Al and Syl are both passed out unconscious by the Mill in front of the Town.
At the Church Matthew and Olivia hear their parents cries. In anguish they shout, "Ma! Pa!" They scream. Immediately they try to take to the air but nothing happens.
"What's going on? Our powers," Matthew asks being confused.
"Look! In the sky! Olivia replies.
The children see the dark mystical clouds covering the white clouds of the sky.
Both Matthew and Olivia look up and begin to pray, "Heavenly Father what are we going to do? We feel like you have left us with our powers departed from us. Father what has happened? Please help us."
Also the Town of Walnut Grove inside the Church as they looking outside the window seeing it getting dark begins to panic.
"Reverend Alden what is happening?" Charles asks.
"Charles, the Devil is at work here," Alden replied back.
Outside Hartwig drops down from the sky and lands in front of the two children, "You two little brats are helpless! Your Pa and Ma are in our power!" He snarkly says.
Matthew holding his watch looks upwards the same with Olivia holding her flower, "Lord! Please help us! We need you!" The two youngsters plea.
Hartwig just laughs, "Ha Ha Ha! Go ahead, call to your Lord! He won't respond! Our Master is seeing to that! but for now I think you two brats need a short nap! Soon you and your accursive parents are going on a one-way trip! To Hell!"
Hartwig discharges a fireball directly at Matthew and Olivia. The fireball hits the kids sending them tumbling backwards crashing directly in the Feed and Seed building. Matthew and Olivia are spawned out on the floor unconscious.
Joe Quinn and Mel Barnes lands right beside Hartwig, "Go get the brats!" Hartwig orders.
Quinn and Barnes rush into the Feed and Seed through the hole which Matthew and Olivia had gone through after getting hit by the fireball the two evil men pick up the two Heavenly children and bring them out to Hartwig.
Hartwig looks at the two unconscious children in the two men's arms, "Let's go! Our Master is waiting! He will be well pleased," Hartwig says as all three men take to the air with their two young prisoners.
The three men vanish into the distance.
Some of the congregation rushs out of the Church and are grief-stricken.
"My Grandchildren!" Hector Webb shouts in grief.
"Al..!" Charles Ingalls shouts in grief.
"Syl..! Laura Wilder shouts in grief.
"Oh, Manly! What are we going to do?" Laura tearfully asks.
"I don't know Beth obviously we're all are no match for them," Almanzo says feeling useless in the matter.
"We have to do something? Those are our children and grandchildren out there!" Caroline says in tears.
"Caroline, put your trust in the Lord. I'm sure He knows what's going on and is working on trying to help His children, "Reverend Alden says looking up to Heaven in hope.
The congregation also looks up into the sky all saying a silent prayer to the Lord.
Meanwhile past the dark clouds in the endless Eternal void of Heaven. Hundreds of Angel souls are working feverishly to break though the dark clouds with their white clouds. The Angels are being directed by Alyssa, Carrie's godsister.
"Hurry! We must break through! Our Heavenly Family's time is running out," Alyssa says with determination."
Saint Peter rushes frantically as he writes schematics and dynamics. He completes another set and then he goes into the main cloud chamber to his All Father God Himself.
"It's very serious Lord apparently Your enemy, the Devil has used a very dark magic from His domain to create the barrier to prevent our Light of Heaven to shine down on Earth to Your Heavenly children," Saint Peter says.
God who is sitting motionless on his Throne replies, "Hurry with the repairs St Peter! if Our Heavenly power doesn't reach My children and godchildren soon. Those three friends and My enemy will have them finished off and obliterated.
St Peter then turns and goes back to his work.
The Almighty Lord says in a hush tone, "Hang on my favorite children and godchildren. When your power returns you will be able to defeat them."
Hartwig, Mel Barnes and Joe Quinn have taken Matthew and Olivia to the outskirts of Town laying them unconsciously down on the ground in the middle of nowhere as Hartwig says, "We need to go back into Town and get those brats parents that we left unconscious. Mr. Quinn do you want to come with me to get that boy of yours as I get that no good woman?!"
Joe Quinn answers with a laughing smirk in his voice, "It would be my pleasure to get that boy!"
Mel Barnes mentions, "I will stay here with the brats."
Hartwig with a big smile says, "Then we will take them down to Hell and our Master can do what He wants with them!"
All three of the Devil's servants give out a evil laugh and Hartwig and Quinn head off in the sky to get Al and Syl.
As Mel Barnes looks at the brats all of a sudden all around them but at a distance a block of the Earth granite surround the kids, "Looks like our Master is getting them ready for them to descent into Hell. Once those brat kids parents get here I guess our Master will do the rest! I for one will be killing some women! That tramp Laura will be the first! Ha! Ha! Ha!" Mel Barnes thinks and laughs to himself."
Meanwhile in Heaven Saint Peter is just about finished with the formula to give to the Lord to make the white clouds come back, ''I most work faster!"
A few feet from his desk Angel May Webb Sylvia's mother watches. Then another woman Angel walks up to her. May Webb turns and looks at the woman and asks, "Yes?"
"You must be May Webb, the mother of Sylvia." The woman asks and then mentions, "I'm Joan Quinn, Albert's true mother."
May is shocked then Joan saying, "You think our God and Saviour will help our children?"
May replies embracing Joan, "I hope so! He is determined to save them but we're running out of time."
Joan begins to cry as they're holding each other, "I love my son it can't end this way for him. He's been through alot in his life ever since I died. He doesn't deserve this because of my wicked evil husband," Joan says.
May understands and continues to hold Joan tightly and trying to comfort her, "Don't worry Albert and my daughter, Sylvia are strong!"
Joan looks up to May, "I'm glad my son married your daughter. I see they have two beautiful children who are my grandchildren now."
"I'm glad my daughter married your Albert," May replies back.
The two women Angels continue to watch as Saint Peter is continuing to work frantically they hold hands hoping that their children and grandchildren will prevail.
Back down on Earth Hartwig and Quinn now has unconscious Al and Syl heading back to where Matthew and Olivia where being watched by Mel Barnes. Hartwig lays Syl by her daughter, Olivia.
Joe Quinn lays Al by his son, Matthew.
"Now you four Heavenly fools!" Hartwig begins to say with a smirk, "Are going to Hell! To never come back!"
The three men stay side by side and raise their arms and hands in the air waving them. From beneath the Earth flames appear and surround the Heavenly family.
In Hell the Devil evilly laughs waving His pitchfork! "Now let the ground turn to quicksand on the spot of my enemy's servants so they can sink down to the bowels of Hell!"
The ground that the Heavenly Family is unconsciously lying on turns to quicksand and they are beginning to sink.
"Once they go under they will be obliterated! Ha! Ha! Ha!" Hartwig says laughing wickedly.
"Yup!" Quinn and Barnes also say laughing wickedly.
Will Saint Peter get the needed formula to God in time to help the Heavenly family?
