Chapter 27
The Tiger's Scars
Right now at night we see Song and Leo making their way through the empty streets of Los Vista's. The two of them had just finished up gathering as much equipment as they could. Song was carrying stuff in a handbag while Leo had some chemistry sets and other glass vials in a small carboard box.
"In here!" They stopped recognizing Gretta's voice hiding behind a van watching as Emilia and her 'new army' entered into a music store, the same empty one that Chris and Kipo had been to before. Once they got in, everyone took a moment to catch their breath.
"Did the Mega Tiger or Jaguar follow us?" Hoag questioned nervously.
"Uh, the Earth isn't shaking, so I don't so." Greta replied.
"Never mind that, did you see what that tiger kid did to us? He didn't waste any time."
"I know, plus the cure didn't work on him. Yeah, why didn't the cure work?"
From behind a wall Leo and Song eavesdropped. "The cure didn't affect him?"
"Emilia, must've used Chris and Kipo's DNA to make the cure." Song realized. "There both immune!"
"Those mega cats will destroy us before they let us cure the surface!" Hoag exclaimed. "You all saw how that tiger is! So, who's to say the jagaur won't do the same! Not to mention they captured almost half of us!"
"Kipo doesn't eat people. We're gonna be fine!" Zane chimed in. "Chris on the other hand, not so sure. Besides, Dr. Emilia always has a plan."
They heard a grunt in frustration turning to the said female scientist who kicked over a drum huffing and puffing in anger. "Everyone to the boat...now."
They didn't argue and exited the place and during that Zane tripped over a drum earning a look of disapproval from Emilia as he got up. "Sorry...sorry..."
With them now gone the husband and wife were now able to talk in peace. "Well the good news is that Emilia's upset that means they won. Right?"
"..." Song didn't know to respond to that but hearing that there were prisoners made it more unsettling.
Back at the timber cat village we see Mutes pushing Humans inside large wooden cages that were constructed by the Timber Cats. From the sidelines Kipo and the rest of the group watched this go on.
"I didn't think...it'd end up like this..." Kipo said sadly feeling sympathy for the prisoners they had since she had known most of them her whole life growing up in the burrow. Much less did she feel like an hinderance.
"Kipo...this isn't your fault..." Wolf said to the female hybrid. "This is only a setback..."
"Yeah, I'm sure Chri-" Benson stopped talking when he saw her friend turn around
"Kipo!" They turned to see that Leo and Song had finally returned.
"Are you okay?" Song placed her hands on her daughter relieved to know that she was ok. "We saw Dr. Emilia heading back to the boat and..."
"Song..."
His wife looked and saw the prisoners. "What happened?"
"Chris did what I didn't want to do..." The female hybrid began to explain. "He fought back and wasn't afraid too...I know there our people and they tried to cure the mutes...but dad, this...this just doesn't feel right..."
Leo sighed a bit hearing this. "One thing at a time Kipo, come here..." Both of her parents hugged their daughter. "We've got everything we need to make the vaccine."
"It'll take some time, but we'll get started right away, and then they'll never be able to cure any of them at all."
"That's great!" Benson was happy to hear this and was growing concerned as this didn't' brighten up her mood. "Isn't it great, Kipo?"
"..." She didn't say anything, her folks glanced at one another.
"Where is Chris by the way?" Song asked as Wolf stepped in.
"He's in the great hall talking with the Mute Leaders right now." The young survivor said pointing up to the said tree.
Inside we see the mute leaders gathered around with their closest allies.
"I say we should retaliate." Yumyan spoke up. "They attacked us, with lethal intent. We Timber Cats do not take kindly when our home is attacked."
"Count me in." Loretta chimed in. "A bunch of us haven't used our jet skis in a while."
"Ok, that's cool and all, but do we even have a plan?" Cotton pointed out.
"She's got a point." Camille agreed.
"Yes, all very valid indeed." Good Billions nodded. "Although, considering the home field advantage the humans have over us, we don't really know how many are still left."
"Not to mention how many Mutes we'd lose if they get cured." Bad Billions threw in his thoughts. "We should most definitely seize the opportunity while they are still weak."
"As true as that might be, we still have to consider our options." All eyes were focused on Chris. "We know that the cure, her army what possibly remains of it, but maybe not knowing if there's more, is all on that boat. But all the more reason we have to think of our next move carefully..."
"So what were just going to sit here and wait for them to return?" Good Billions questioned in annoyance.
"No, they won't not for a while. And if the option is still there, we also have to consider preparing relocating to another location."
"There won't be enough time." Yumyan argued. "Plus, this is the Timber Cats home, we would lay down our lives to protect it."
"Not to mention we don't even know a good place where we can go to." Molly added.
Surely enough everyone was starting to share their opinions on what to do next. However little by little, the suggestions lead to disagreement and then arguing.
Chris shook his head while Scarlemagne sighed. "Not exactly the way your hoping it would work isn't it?" The male hybrid roared out silencing them.
"I know a lot of you are mad, especially the to the Timber Cats. You've by us since the very beginning of this whole thing. But right now, no, we have to calm down. It's been a long day, a lot of us have been through a lot."
"Point made and well agreed!" Good Billions exclaimed.
"What about the humans we captured?" Jamack questioned. "I mean they are here."
"I say we should make an example of them." Bad Billions grinned.
"We're not going to." Chris stood up. "Gather them up. i have an idea of my own." They all were confused by this while at the same time Kipo was also growing worried at what he was gonna do.
A few torches were lit and we see the captured humans gathered around fearfully especially since there were mutes surrounding them. However they noticed they were making way for Chris to make his way through. From the sidelines the group watched this transpire.
"What do you want with us?" One them asked fearfully.
"Nothing, I don't want anything valuable you have." Chris shook his head. "But you know back on the ship, I told you all that we didn't want war. We didn't, yet you still didn't listen." He stopped right in front of them. "You all came here believing that what you were doing is a just cause. For all humankind, right? Thinking things will be better once the monsters are all gone right? Is that you really think? Because the only monsters I see, are standing right in front of me."
The mutes all cheered out in agreement. "You know, Kipo was more than kind enough to tell you all about the death ivy wall. I on the other hand, wasn't going to tell you. That's the difference between me and her, especially when it comes to enemies."
"Well, what's the point then?"
"The point? The point? That's actually a good question. What is the point? That for maybe and possibly for at least ten seconds you all try and think the bigger picture. Do you all want to go back to living underground that badly?"
"That's why we're doing this!" One guy exclaimed. "But we can't do it without...wi-without..." Chris walked up to that guy.
"You can't even say it out loud, can you? Because you know full well that it won't help you where you're in right now isn't it? So go ahead finish it. You can't come back to the surface unless the mutes are gone. That's exactly what you want to say, but you're too much of a coward to finish it."
He walks back up to the front facing them. "Believe me when I say, I don't hate humans. I'm a human being myself, I'm no different than you. I have dreams, ambitions and a life of my own. I was born the way I am. Why should I have to do undo or become something else that you all want just because it benefits you?" Chris questioned before a few mutes stepped forward with their kids intact. Seeing this surprised a majority of the humans.
"Some of you are parents, aren't you? If I'm not wrong, then a major portion of you all have families. Sure, that's one reason you're doing is just for a noble cause."
Chris motioned to the mute children. "But is it worth it? This is what you came here and tried to undo. Not just the adults here but curing the mutes here would mean you'd have to do the same with the children. When it comes down to that point, you gonna have the resolve to do it? Take away what they have, or have someone else do it for you? Their lives are no different than yours." Chris nodded telling the mute parents to pull them back.
"So, who are any of you under what right do you have to try and take that away from all Mutes? We at HMUFA are trying to make the surface and Las Vistas a better place. While we were doing that, you choose the easier way out of this problem."
"But what other choice is there?" A third human questioned, one belonging to Emilia's original group. "The surface is our home too."
"No, it's not just humanities home anymore, the surface has and always will belong to those that live on the same world as we do. What you all did, was out of fear. You're afraid. But they're just as afraid to." He made a hand motion and had someone come forward much to some of the humans fear it was Scarlemagne. The mandrill who had controlled the Mega Monkey and put many of them under mind control.
"Scarlemagne, has done harm to you all, I understand that. But while that's true he should pay for his crimes, it's all in order. No different than how it was back then. Just like it's no different believing in possible second chances." He nods his head over to the right. "How he'll contribute and make up for what he's done is up to not just you, but also the other inhabitants as many of them were caught in what happened back at the coliseum. However, just like humans, they decided to give him another chance. You do or not, is up to you."
The silver teen then cleared his throat. "So, here's an alternative. In two days' time we'll let you go. But while you remain here, I offer you a place to stay, if anyone of you believe that there could and possibly be peace between humans and Mutes and don't want to fight. By all means join us." Chris then frowned. "However, do keep in mind, if do go back to Emilia, because if you do come back. We won't be as nice next time. Think about it."
With that done Chris made a motion for the timber cats to put the prisoners they had back into their holding cages.
Meanwhile back at the Cruise Ship we see Gretta and Zane enter the lab. Both were nervous not sure what to say to their leader.
Gretta started first. "Hey, Dr. Emilia, we got the engines started."
She didn't acknowledge them.
"Hopefully those two can't find us if we're on the move."
However, Emilia still wasn't and was letting the defeat still sink in.
"I've been working my whole life to undo the Great Mutant Outbreak and erase the monsters who stole our world. And now it's all going to be undone by some wide-eyed 14-year-old girl and her hardcore-survivor boyfriend? Who are both no different than the monsters we faced if not worse!?" She swatted some pieces of glass startling Gretta and Zane.
"And what's worse is that there both in a relationship! Those two alone will start a whole entirely different species of abominations!" The female scientist slammed her fists onto the counter. "We can't let that...happen. No, we mustn't. They might have some our people captured but we are still humanities last hope." Emilia stomps away in anger.
"We managed to kill a Mega before, so we will do it again."
The next morning, we see the group eating breakfast with the exception of Chris who was currently busy helping the Mutes.
"You know...even though we won...I still can't believe Chris said that..." Benson said trying to absorb what they saw last night and repeating the message his friend delivered to the humans that they had captured.
"But at least he's showing he's open and giving them choices." Wolf pointed out. "Others would use this to their own advantage."
Song glanced over to Kipo who really wasn't eating her flapjack. She could tell her daughter was having mixed feelings with how this was all being handled. "You, ok?"
"I don't know...but I'm really worried about Chris. He just...keeps acting more different almost every day...Up to the point where it feels like I don't know him anymore..."
"How he different? " Dave raised an eyebrow in confusion. " He's been just fine to me, acting the same as usual.
"No, no." Benson spoke up going into thought. "I think I know what Kipo's talking about I've noticed it too, remember when he was Emilia down? There was a look in his eyes."
The bug understood what they meant. "Oooh, that look."
Wolf put in her thoughts on the matter. "I think if things were different, and we weren't there, he wouldn't probably done something else. He was holding himself back."
"What if we try talking to him about it?" Benson suggested.
"I don't know guys; I'm just worried he'll brush us off."
Wolf raised an eyebrow at what the female hybrid said. "That would be hard to believe especially if it's you. But you're probably right."
Song put hand underneath her chin. "Or maybe were not trying to understand this better than we should."
Kipo was confused on what her mother was talking about. "What do you mean? "
"Even if he does have a serious grudge against Emilia, I think his other half is playing a role in this."
"Other half?" It then clicked to Benson. "Wait, you mean his Tiger traits?"
"I believe so... Tigers and Jaguars are territorial, very territorial. Jaguars often have more territory, while Tiger's have smaller territory which makes them much more aggressive in protecting those areas. But it's a known fact that there more aggressive then to that of a Lion. Give me some examples on how he's been acting lately."
Wolf went first. "He's has been a lot more on edge lately and I felt a little bit of it, when me and Margot were fighting, and he broke it up."
Benson went next trying to think. "Now that you've mention it, I have noticed it to. Like the way he handled Emilia before. When we were dealing with Scarlemagne and broke her arm."
Kipo recalled a certain memory as well. "Then there was that one time, the acted with Hoag when he tried to sneak up from behind...Not to mention...what only happened not just to recently."
Song glanced over to her husband. "All of that defiantly attributes to his aggression. Plus the trauma that helped build that aggression, all of that is what has us all worried for him."
"Then what do we do?" Kipo wanted to hear a good solution on how to help her boyfriend. "There's got to be something we can do for him."
Wolf gained a look of uncertainty and pointed something out. "Kipo...I don't know what else we can do for him. Chris has more of a reason to hate Emilia then the rest of us do."
"We could, but Song." Leo gained her attention again. "I think you and I should try to talk with him. We've known Emilia for a longer than he has, and we've had our share of hardships too, so maybe since we can relate to him, it might do the trick."
"What about me?" Their daughter chimed in. "I am his girlfriend and maybe I can get through to him"
"I know, I think so too. But... " Leo looked a bit hesitant for a moment. "We need to do this carefully."
"What?" Kipo was confused on what her father was saying or even applying. "Why carefully? Chris would never hurt me. I mean sure things have been rocky lately, but he never would. Not even since we first met. He's helped through so much from the start."
"Kipo, we understand where you're coming from, but till now we haven't addressed his growing aggression." Song then gained a sad look. "And the trauma on top if it caused from him loosing Khan and Aura. We can't be too certain."
"Your mother's right." Leo chimed in." We need to do this with how things are right now."
Hearing this coming from her parents was really hard for Kipo. She was sure they'd have a solution on helping Chris deal with his 'issues' But hearing that possibly if they left this be, it could possibly get worse? This was just hard to absorb, and she was on the verge of crying. " I know...but, this...this...I don't even know what to say right now..."
Benson put a hand his friend's shoulder. "Kipo, we'll be there for you and Chris, but we need to help him with what he's going through right now, otherwise, we might never look at him the same again. I mean the surface was a warzone long before you got here and you've almost brought that to an end because you always see the best in people. While Chris never gave never up. If we don't do this, we might lose him."
"What Benson said." Wolf backed him up. "Chris has done a lot for us, now we it's our turn to try and help him."
Dave chimed in with a smile of his own. "Yeah, our tiger friend needs us. We've had each other's backs from the beginning. Aside from that one time when we took your bike and stalky when you were all sleeping. But that was then, and this is now."
Kipo couldn't help but smile herself. "Your right, we do this together and help him, as more than a team, as a family."
"Yeah, but anyone got any bright ideas on how to do this? " Benson questioned bringing up a good point and suddenly Kipo suddenly perked up.
I think I have one. "
That same following day we see Chris emerging out from the Great Hall when he did Kipo rushed up over to him. "Hey Chris?"
" Hmm?" He turned around to face her.
"Do you have any free time right now?"
"I believe so, why do you ask?"
"Well, my parents want to go the cabin."
The silver teen blinked in confusion not expecting to hear this request. "What for?"
"They need to check on somethings just to be sure that your parents didn't leave anything that could possibly help."
"Ah, I see." To Chris that made sense. Song and Leo had to know something that he didn't. Every possible advantage they could take or have, they had to seize the opportunity. "Alright, I'll meet you all over there."
A while later we see Chris and Kipo walking off from where his parents head stone was. When they arrived Kipo's folks had come along with the group including Scarlemagne. This was to help ensure that they would be able better their odds. However, little did Chris know was that this was all part of a plan and he unknowingly was going along with it.
Before they get to the place Chris stopped and hummed. Kipo noticed this and got worried thinking he'd found out. "Something wrong?"
"No, just thinking..."
"About what?"
"Well...when this is all over. I'd like to fix this place up." He put both hands together squaring his fingers trying to frame it. "I think the cabin would make a nice little summer home."
"Summer home?" She tilted her head in confusion. "For what?"
"I don't know" The silver teen blushed going into thought. "...maybe...us?"
Now Kipo wasn't expecting this as she too was now blushing smiling a bit. The thought of possibly spending any possible future with him actually sounded nice. Not to mention the fact that he was thinking that far ahead. It really did make her heart flutter. "D-Don't you think it's a bit early to think like that?"
"It is but...You'd at least be open to the idea, right?"
"Um..." She continued to keep her blush in tact. "Y-Yeah, totally."
"Aww, that's
...
"Did you two find what you were looking for?"
"Yeah, we managed to find a few of your mothers old notes still in tact." Song answered showing a notebook. "Aside from this, that's about it."
"Alright, well we should probably get going." Chris started to walk, as he did both of Kipo's parents exchanged look and nodded knowing this had to been the moment to do so.
"Actually, no, but...I think we need to talk."
"What is this about?" Chris asked turning around. "Is there anything else I should know?"
"
"Look, we know that your reasons for doing is to help make the surface a better place. But Chris, you're starting to...let your anger for Emilia cloud your judgement."
Chris crossed out his arms. "And?"
This was it, the point of no return. Leo was the one to say something. "For your sake, you need to let it go."
Chris walked forward a bit and paused at the edge of the river. With a deep exhale the silver teen spoke up giving him out their answer. "No. "
Both Leo and Song were starting to get more worried. "Chris please listen for just a minute..." Song walked up to him and put her hands on his shoulders. "I understand, but can you just at least think about how it'll affect you in the long run and how it'll affect Kipo?"
The silver teen didn't look at them he kept his focus on what was in front of him. "I'll worry about it when it comes to that."
"You say that now, but then it'll be to late..." Leo pointed out. "Chris, I know what it's like losing your family and missing them. I do."
"No, you don't... " Chris turned around to face him cutting him off. "See Leo, this is the difference between you and I. Emilia might've taken away your wife and put her under mind control for all those years. But yet, somehow you were able to get her back. You have your wife, your daughter, your family." He then pressed both fingers pointing to himself.
"What about mine? Huh? What about my parents? It was already bad enough that my mother didn't make through childbirth killing my possible little sister in the process...But my father...she took him away from me. And I'm not going to let anything or anyone else take from me again."
"And were more than happy to help you, and you know what your right I don't know what it's like to loose family like that. I don't. But right now there are bigger things going on than just you and her."
"You don't think I know that? Why do you think I'm going to do whatever it takes to protect what we've all made so far?" Chris's frown lightened a bit as he glanced down to the ground. "If not, then I'll have nothing else... "
"But Chris
"Chri
"No it does not!
"There are other people out there, just like her!" Chris argued. "They don't care who they hurt, the lives they'll ruin as long as they get what they want."
"But's there's always another way."
"Sometimes there is and sometimes there's not." Chris pointed out. "I'm sorry if you feel that way, you always see the good side in others despite what they are like Scarlemagne, but this won't end the way you think it will."
"He's right, that's a trait we need, and we can't afford to make any mistakes." Scarlemagne stepped in. "She hates mutes more anything, and those that stand in her way."
"Because someone has too.
"It can't be you obviously. "
"If you're going to continue to try and change my mind. Don't bother."
Kipo stepped up in front of him. "I'm not letting you do this to yourself. If you do, then you'll be no better than Emilia."
"Don't you dare compare me to her!" Chris snarled bearing his fangs and for a brief moment his eyes changed. Despite this she wouldn't back down.
"Well come on Chris it's the truth! You really think this'll settle anything? Is this what your mom wanted for you or your father?"
The silver teen scoffed in response. "Of course, it won't bring them back, that's just stupid. Once you're gone, you're done. But this isn't about them, this is about our future. The future of everything that we've worked hard to try and achieve."
"I know that Chris, but the whole point of HMUFA is trying to bring everyone together."
"I'm aware of that. But right now, your refusing to accept that not everyone will think the same way as we do. Not everyone is gonna the want be our friend. That's the reality of how things work."
"Since when do you think all of everything is your own responsibility?"
"Since lately I'm the one around here that seems to have any sense. Just like you're out of your mind thinking about going to see Emilia."
Kipo's eyes widened in surprise shocked that he knew about this. "Yeah, I heard you."
"Look, I'm only thinking about going to Emilia. But I swear, this is for a good reason."
"There is never a good reason to go Emilia." Scarlemange chimed in.
"I know, but they're just afraid."
"Why not? It isn't like it's any different from the people hundreds of years ago who cared about nothing but themselves, and not thinking about the consequences of their actions and refusing to own their mistake's. And that's their own fault for not freakin trying to hide underground for two hundred years!"
At this point Kipo was starting to get frustrated. "Dammit Chris! Can't you just let this go!? We're trying to help prevent more bad things from happening!"
"Something bad did happen!" Scarlemagne exclaimed finally stepping in grabbing her shoulders looking her directly into her eyes. "LOOK AT ME! At your mother, at your father, and Chris! Emilia did this is to us!"
"I know that!" Kipo threw her arms into the air. "I know that what happened can never be done, I understand..."
"Do you really though?" Chris questioned getting her attention.
"Maybe not. Chris, out of all of us, you have more than enough reason to hate Emilia. What you said is true, neither of us can understand how you feel. I'm not asking you to forgive her for what she has done, I'm asking you to not let it control you."
"Let it control me?" Chris frowned at what she said. "Don't even start that with me, you haven't lost anything important to you yet because of her, yet. What makes you sure that'll go exactly as you wanted it to?"
Kipo frowned. "I don't know for sure."
"Then what is it Kipo? You're asking a lot out of me; I've been with you since the start of all of this." Chris sighed. "I need to know if this'll pay off in the end."
"Are you kidding me? That one guy who tried to sneak up on us talked about curing the mutes." Chris pointed out. "He wanted to cure them, Emilia didn't force it on him. He wanted to, what makes you think that's not what they want to get what they want? Huh?"
Marbled Gold — Today at 9:25 PM
"Emilia has shown more than once to be good at influencing people through fear or even screwed logic" said Kipo.
"But I have to keep hope that some are misguided" said Kipo her hands forming fists.
"So that's it? Your going to do this because of a gut feeling?" Chris asked if he was hearing this right. "Because even so, whatever you'd be plan on doing. We'd be putting everyone at risk. And I mean everyone just so can give those who you thought you could trust, those that have known you for your entire life a second chance? Even in spite of all that's happened? Is that it?"
Kipo closed her eyes and looked into Chris's eyes. "Because no else will." She said with more determination than she had ever had before.
The silver teen shook his head. "I'm sorry you feel that way...But I don't." His eyes closed before opening them again becoming feline and morphed into his Mega Tiger form roaring at the female hybrid before running off.
Before she could go after him Leo stopped his daugther in her tracks. "No.'
"What?"
"Look, just give him time cool off before trying to talk to him again ok?" Lio sighed, this was not how he wanted this attempt to end. "Let's get back to the village ok?"
Back at the cruise ship we see Emilia working in her lab making use of whatever salvaged equipment that they had and others that managed to remain in tact when those monsters broke in freeing the rest subjects. On the other hand thought while it was an inconvenience she managed to win over Kipo's people, not to mention she had the cure. She finally had what humanity had been seeking for the past three hundred years.
All of that work and effort put in from her father, and their predecessors has finally come into reality.
as she was doing so for some reason a memory one she hadn't remembered nor cared for a long time surfaced.
(Flashback)
Only just mere days ago, everyone in the DNA Burrow was rather silent. The reason being was because they had lost on their own. That person being Liam.
Inspite of many not knowing him personally, they all greatly enjoyed his company. He was just a simple boy with an upbeat, optimistic personality. Many would argue that he was the most kindest and friendliest person you could know.
Many still felt the impact of his passing, none so more than his sister. Yes, his sister loved him very much, he was the only family she had left.
Oh yes, she did, many of them knew that he was killed by a mute, or so it seemed. Little did the burrow know was that there was a monster in there midst's. That same monster was none other than the victim herself, who cried up a storm upon her return spending hours on what had happened.
But the truth, oh yes, the truth itself was much more uglier than anyone would've dared dreamed about.
Emilia swore that she would put an end to the very things that killed her brother. Now while everyone knew that she meant by what she said, most of those being had known her thier entire lives, one single person in the burrow knew there was more to it.
Emilia had just entered her lab and it was dark? Why was it dark? The lights were always on this didn't make any sense at all.
Making her way to the lights Emilia turned them on but soon got startled. The reason being was because someone was standing their by the wall. The younger girl blinked in surprise. "Aura?" Yes it was indeed Chris's mother, much younger, compared to how she was to today, she was today, her hair was much more longer reaching down all the way to the base of her legs.
"What are you doing here? Sitting in the dark?"
"I could ask you the same thing...It's awfully late to be up and working isn't it?"
"I can work whenever I please, is that so wrong?" she said with a dismissive tone.
"No, I just thought that you'd still be well..."
"If this is about what happened with Liam..." Emilia sighed sadly. "I appreciate the concern Aura...But I have to do this..."
"But he wouldn't want you to overwork yourself even for his sake. You know that."
"It's practically all I have left, if nothing else."
"But you still have those around you...Do you not?"
"All I have is my goal...If you're going not going to help me than leave..."
Aura hummed at this answer. "Why do not show anything else for your brother why? Do you genuinely not care for everything he did to help us?"
"Of course, I do...But we all know what our goal is the end."
Aura took a deep inhale knowing there was no going back on this. "And does that goal require what you did?"
"I don't know what you're talking about Aura" said in a hostile tone.
"Cut the crap." Aura replied back not intimidated in the slightest. "You might be the smartest person in the burrow, but you forget, I'm right behind you. Both of you spent years scouting the surface, you both did those jobs over dozens of times and now, all of the sudden Liams gone just like that? No, Liam wouldn't give up or go down that easily."
"How would you know that you've seen what up there" said Emilia her tone getting semi-hysteric.
"Giant Rabbits the size of whales, Hummingbirds with a habit of dropping bombs, and those are the more 'friendlier' things out there that don't eat meat" said Emilia.
"I've also seen the beavers, the gecko's and among them many other things." Aura replied back. "I have seen my share of things up there, not to mention Vultures and many other animals that resemble so much like us."
She kept going. "But what I can't wrap my head around is that both of you somehow got into a situation that easily could've been avoided. None of that adds up at all."
"Things can change at a moment's notice up there, you know that we encountered an unforeseen issue."
"What was it you said again? He risked his life so you could escape? Wasn't that what you said? The noble heroic thing he did? The same memory that you'd continue to fight for?" Aura chuckled. "You always were so clever, so smart minded, so overconfident & Arrogant. That you forget time and time again, that not all of us aren't so dull." Aura walked up to her and stopped standing a few feet away from Emilia before pointing to her. "You killed your brother, in cold blood."
"Why would I do that? He was my brother, and I have no reason to even consider murdering him."
"No, you wouldn't. But only considered it, if he got in the way of your goal." Aura glared at her.
"My goal is not something that I would stoop to killing my own brother, and these accusations are just so hurtful Aura" said Emilia in faux hurt.
"Why don't you yourself a favor and quit spitting on your brothers grave already? Your already more pathetic than it is putting on the hurt face, and the tears that'll be coming afterwards. It just doesn't suit you at all."
Emilia now snorted amused. Never did she think that there'd be a single person in the burrow she'd fail to deceive. But then again, Aura was runner up for a reason. "So what?"
She now wasn't hiding anything. "He went against everything we have worked for...While up there, I spent days looking for him, he disappeared and when I found him, he was brainwashed by those...things. He even befriended a few of them, speaking nonsense that humans could exist alongside mutes without having to cure them. It can never work, it contradicted everything our predecessors have worked so hard to achieve...I had to made the hard decision and I did."
Aura shook her head. "We've been told all our lives that the mutes were nothing but monsters. However, we were also taught, that even us human beings can be no worse what we actually fear. You're a prime example of that."
"The monsters are those abominations of nature that parade out there, they act like us, they even have mannerisms like us, they imitate us, they're a mockery"
"And how does those contradict you killing your own flesh and blood? How does that justify lying to those who've placed their trust into you?"
"Because they don't see those things out there as 'people' just a mutation of creatures that we used to keep as pets and observational tests"
"And aren't we no different being experiments ourselves?" Aura questioned. "Because after all many of us, are clones of the original people who built, worked and died in this burrow itself. A bit hypocritical, isn't it?"
"We are backup plans from our original counter parts to continue their goals, nothing more" said Emilia not even reacting to the notion that she's not the original version of herself.
"And right there, what you said contradicts another thing they made this place for. To not only preserve and continue on humanities legacy, but so we can learn from our mistakes and face them. If not then we wither perish, or we continue to live on as our ancestors did millions and millions of years ago did. Its in our blood to continue thriving."
"And we shall continue to thrive without those mutated house pests"
"And we continue to not be better than what we once were in the past?"
"We will be better, just without those mutants."
"Maybe, but at the same time maybe times, should change as well."
"Time should always change, I'm just trying to tilt it in our favor."
"No, you only want things tilted in your favor." Aura points to her. "Not any of us, only you. You alone."
"I want things to be in favor of humanity, and if you can't see that, then I cannot help you" said Emilia, her interest wanning.
"Oh, I don't want your help at all. You're too far beyond for anything."
"And you are beyond all reason."
"What are you going to do tell them what I did?"
"No..." Aura shook her head. "No, I don't have to."
"You don't have to? No matter what, my goal will become reality."
"No, you don't understand. I don't need to do anything, because I'll just let time do the work instead..." Aura begins to make her leave. "History has plenty of such examples..."
Emilia whispering to herself. "And in time you shall join them in history"
"I'll make sure that we return to where we belong...I don't care what it takes, I don't care what must be done it's all for the sake of mankind!"
"Is it?" Aura looked over her shoulder stopping at the doorway. "Is it really?"
"It truly is."
"No, in the end, you're satisfying your ego. As well as the egos of everyone else who lived in that delusion of yours." Aura left the room leaving Emilia by herself. Those very words echoing in her head.
(Flash back end)
Back in the present Emilia paused at her work frowning. Why did this memory pop up now out of all times? Aura had every opportunity to expose her, years to try and make Emilia pay for the crime that the doctor saw that was necessary for the next step. Her sibling would've only gotten in the way.
Emilia scoffed at what she said and walked off. "Whatever..." She has better things to do and that was to cure every single one of those abominations one way or another.
Hours went by, and now the sun was beginning to set signaling that the day was gonna end, with nighttime slowly approaching. While normally, this would be around the time of day when you'd get rest, for one certain female hybrid wasn't in such good spirits.
Kipo was sitting up on the tree top canopy of the Timber Cat Village. She had her knees brought up to her chest. On the sides of her cheeks were dried tears. The moment they returned back, the girl climbed up to the top to be alone and have time for herself. Kipo waited for Chris to come back, but minutes turned into hours, and he has still yet to come back.
Her attempt at trying to get Chris to sway over, failed miserably. His anger for Emilia was much more deeper than she bargained for. The anger he showed, she had never seen that before. Only a few brief couple of times, nothing to extreme, but this...this was, she didn't know what to think. Only that they never had a big fight like this, what happened was the first biggest argument and disagreement they had. However, at the same time, it was on a much more emotional and serious manner. She stood by what she said. If no one else was willing to try what she was going to do, then no one else would.
She wanted her people to be part of the future that'll lie ahead for the surface and the city itself. Kipo had known them since she was a baby, they've known her for years, interreacting with them helped shape Kipo into the person she is today. She wanted them to get to know Chris for the kind and caring person he was, the same for him getting to know them better. They would love to hear his voice when he played music.
However, it was what Chris said, he really pictured a future of them being together. He even wanted to turn that cabin into a summer home, change it from a place of sad reminders to instead a place to make new memories. But now, she wasn't so sure if that can happen.
The girl gave off a heavy sigh and from behind Song popped her head out from the leaves giving her daughter a sympathetic look. She climbed up carrying a small bag before popping a squat down next to her daughter.
"Hey..."
"Hi mom..."
"You've been up here an awful long time...Are you done sorting out your thoughts?"
Kipo remained in that position. "I don't know...H-Has..."
"No..." Song shook her head. "I'm sorry sweety, but Chris hasn't come back yet."
"Oh..." Kipo finally glanced over to her mother. "Mom...Be honest with me...Is Chris right about what he said?"
The former mega mute thought rationally on this deciding to pick her words. "He did have a good argument..." Song admitted. "But, I don't really blame him. Kipo, are you really adamant on this plan of yours?"
"I said it already...If I don't try then who will?" She female hybrid whipped away a stray tear. "Bu-But now, I have to choose?"
"Not necessarily..."
"What?"
Song repositioned herself making her eyes look directly into her daughter's. "Kipo, look I'm gonna be honest with you for minute. In spite of what happened, you do know Chris cares about your right?"
"Of course I do...Where are you getting at with this?"
"I'm getting to that..." She raised a hand up telling her daughter to stop and listen. "Now, another question do you think that you're the only one having a hard time too?"
"No..."
"Well then there you have it..." She shrugged much to Kipo's confusion.
"I don't get it..."
"Exactly my point..." Song raised a finger. "Kipo you have to understand, nothing is perfect and every once in a while, you're gonna have a fight. And this, this is one example of that."
"But Mom this isn't about just-"
"Let me finish." Song cut her off. "And that's exactly what's going on, both of you can't come to an agreement. If your gonna continue on, then that's what needs to happen."
"So your saying he's right I'm wrong or he's wrong and I'm right?"
Song shook her head continuing to give her daughter advice something that she needed to know. Not to mention this was probably long overdue because of many years of her absence not being in Kipo's life when she was a Mega Monkey. "No, your both right. But you both have different thought patterns. Until both of you resolve this, nothing can progress. All I know is you need to talk to him."
"What if he doesn't want to?"
"Then you improvise..." She replied. "You need to address this, you can't be afraid of what ifs. Kipo this one major example of what you'll have to deal with for the rest of your life. Important choices do matter, but so are resolving issues."
"I know...mom...I know."
"If you know then why are you here then?" Song questioned bringing up another good point to her daughter. She then passed something over the bag to her. "Right now, you both need each other more than ever. Chris needs you especially, because if things were different, he would've turned out a lot more worse. Anger can ruin people's lives, so don't let it take him."
"Alright..." She looked inside of the bag now once again becoming confused. "What's this for?"
Song smiled in response. "If Chris is anything like Khan, then they both got a lot of things in common. That also includes when they get mad. He and Aura have had a few squabbles, but they didn't give up. I've had moments like that with your dad too...So go on, go find him."
Kipo nodded giving her mother a smile before leaning in for an embrace which Song was more than happy to give her. This was one the many she'd make up for not being able to hug her own child for all those years.
We change sceneries to show Chris sitting at the spot. The very same area where Chris had run into Kipo or rather where she first washed up. He never wagered he'd find someone just like him, much less a friend, who'd later become most important to him. He found a reason to keep going, push forward. Chris had finally found something that was more than just living and surviving in the revenants of humanity's former glory.
Only now there was a problem, with that dream he was wanting. His girlfriend wanted to try one last attempt to bring her people to see that they and Mute Kind could live together. Chris on the other hand believed that it was too late, Emilia had taken hold over them. Her influence and manipulative ways had reached through them. He understood where Kipo was coming from, it was that line of thinking that broke the barriers that Scarlemagne and other Mutes had. In the beginning before she showed up, everyone was at each others throats.
Kipo was like a ray of hope, saying that there's still a chance for a better life than what there was now. There was a good future for all of them, it was just beyond the horizon. But right now, it just seemed that, it might not be possible.
He'd been wandering around for hours trying to cool himself off, retracing steps until he found this spot, where everything changed for him. Glancing up at the night sky, he could see her constellation, Aries. Funny, if things just went with her returning home to that burrow and nothing else, than what would've happened? He didn't know, there no point in thinking on what ifs. He was focused don now and he wasn't so sure on how to proceed at this moment.
With a sigh Chris laid back down closing his eyes and when he did, not too soon after the ground shook heavy footsteps were heard.
Opening his eyes he saw the Mega Jaguar looking down at him. Both locking eyes. "Oh, it's just you." He greeted back like it was no big deal sitting up while she transformed looking a bit nervous. "I didn't think you try and find me..."
"Well...you didn't come back."
"I was going to..." Chris sighed. "What is it now Kipo?"
"Chris, I just...I just want to talk..."
"Well, talk..." Chris popped a squat to sit down while she did the same. The silver teen then admitted a much heavier sigh.
"What I tried to do, pulling one over you was wrong..." Kipo started off. "We did it...No, the reason I did it was because...I was afraid and worried for you. I mean it Chris only the best intentions were meant."
"Everyone else was worried to..."
"Yes."
"Why didn't you approach me about this directly Kipo? Why?"
"I didn't know how...And then you just...Started acting like the Chris I've come to know and...love..."
Chris frowned upon hearing this, he made the others and especially her worry about him? He was just trying to do the right, that's all. Chris wanted to protect them, he did what he believed was the right thing to do. He had to uphold the promise made, and maybe just maybe try to persuade the people in there care. He followed the examples of what people did in the past, Chris had his mother to thank for that since she taught him history.
"But that was no excuse...Your right, I should've just talked to you from the beginning."
"Look...Kipo I never meant to scare you. But you are right, you should've talked to me. I'm sorry...I know your people mean a lot, but Kipo we made a promise to the Mutes. They're our friends too. Just...seeing Emilia it just brought back of memories...My dad...and..."
"You don't have to finish...I understand..." Kipo spoke up. "And I'm sorry too. I am so sorry...I-I didn't take into account of how'd you feel. I just...wanted to help you move on from it...But, I thought that I couldn't do it by myself so that's why everyone was there."
Chris smiled bringing a hand over to hers. Even though and inspite of what she was trying to do, it was all for his best interest. "Alright...Alright I get it...I get it...But Kipo, I don't think what you got in mind will work."
"Chris, I wouldn't be suggesting the idea if I didn't know of the risks that'd be involved."
Chris let go and stood up glancing over to the night sky she did the same thing standing right beside him. "Even then, they won't be in for the idea."
"I know that, but they trust you though. Look if it doesn't work then..." Kipo didn't finish the sentence, but Chris knew what it was going to be. He then grew confused as she reached into the bag pulling out some sort of device. It was small square shaped, and colored symbol bearing white circle with keypads on it.
"What is that?"
"Something my parents found..." She passed it over to him. "It's an I pod. My parents said this belonged to your dad."
This really got his attention. "How did they find this?"
"They might've stopped by Fun Gus on the way back to the village."
"You don't say..." Chris chuckled before pressing the center of it turning it on. He started to scroll through it, looking at the various artists that were on there. He didn't know that his father was into this. Most of the time he was always serious. Khan rarely ever shared personal stuff about himself, that also included his hobbies. Without a thought he glanced through the selection and made his pick.
Immediately music started playing from the device starting off with a light tune.
(Song now playing: Humility by Gorillaz)
As the song started Kipo tapped her a few fingers on her legs liking this so far.
Calling the world from isolation
Chris started to bop his head. Showing he was also liking the song.
'Cause right now, that's the ball where we be chained
And if you're coming back to find me
You'd better have good aim
Hesitantly Chris glanced over to Kipo she noticed this and smiled reaching out her hand onto his.
Shoot it true, I need you in the picture
Chris intertwined his fingers with hers he placed the Ipod into his pocket.
That's why I'm calling you (Calling you)
Kipo still bearing her smile helped Chris up and surely enough they started to dance.
I'm the lonely twin, the left hand
Reset myself and get back on track
I don't want this isolation
See the state I'm in now?
Most of what they did was completely random, they were doing their best not step on each other's toes.
Calling the hunter with the rifle
'Cause right now, that's the ball where we be chained
Shoot it true, I want you in the picture
That's why I'm calling you (Calling you)
Both hybrids didn't care if they were in synch or not both just danced for the fun of it busting off a few moves in the process.
I'm the lonely twin, the left hand
Reset myself and get back on track
I don't want this isolation
See the state I'm in now?
If I pick it up when I know that it's broken
Do I put it back?
Or do I head out onto the lonesome trail
And let you down?
Eventually Kipo wrapped her arms around the back of Chris's neck while he wrapped his around her waist, both keeping their foreheads connected.
I'm the lonely twin, The left hand (If I pick it up when I know that it's broken)
(Do I put it back?)
I don't want this isolation (Or do I head out onto the lonesome trail)
See the state I'm in now?`
(And let you down?)
If I pick it up when I know that it's broken
Surely enough both of them glance into each others eyes leaning forward closing them and connected thier lips.
Do I put it back?
Or do I head out onto the lonesome trail
And let you go?
(Song over)
When the song was over both hybrids separated, keeping their smiles they let go out of each other while he picked up the I Pod in the pocket shutting it off smiling seeing his dads initials on the side KF. "You know...Your dad had some pretty good taste in music..." Kipo said looking at it.
"Yeah, he did." He looked back to his girlfriend. "Kipo...look I mean it...I'm sorry."
"Me too." The purple girl replied back a nod before frowning. "So...What'll happen now?"
A little while later both Mega felines returned much to everyone's relief mainly the group. But the moment Chris had come back he called in everyone into the great hall among them being the humans that they had captive. While they were confused, they no less complied with his request.
He took the center of the room, Yumyan came up over to walk over to him. "Is this everyone?"
"Yeah, everyone's hear." The older cat nodded before putting a paw onto his shoulder. "The floor is yours." Those words said Yumyan.
Glancing around to everyone around him Chris cleared his throat before speaking. "Only not too long ago, the humans being lead by DR. Emilia and her army attacked the Timber Cat village with the intent of curing every Mute they find. However, we were only fortunate enough that no succumb to that unfortunate end. It wasn't just me, who put an end to it. We all did, even though it was close we overcame those odds."
Multiple comments were heard agreeing with him.
"Now, comes with a bigger question, that only asks ourselves on what to do next. Which is why, I believe we must try at least one last attempt for peace."
"What!?"
"Are you kidding me!?"
"They attacked us and you want us to get all buddy-buddy with them!?"
To shut them up Chris emitted a roar and got silence.
"I understand your concerns, I understand the anger you all feel. However, let's stop and take in this realization. As we progress into a better future for Las Vistas, we need to realize that we can't do it with the humans. Because that's the only way was going to do it, not cause it's the right thing to do. But because we cannot do it ourselves. HMUFA isn't just here to bring both sides together. No, it's not, instead it's for a common link for what each desire. A better and brighter future for something worth fighting for in our cause and in their need will defend the dream we are fighting for aiding in each other in their times of need."
More mutes muttered silencing down again to let him continue.
"Even though there are those who say that it can never work, peace and unity between both parties. I think it can be done, what about you? Do you want to keep fighting for scraps to feed your family who's starving while someone else eats with no regard to them? Do we want to keep killing each other for no reason? Do we want to keep repeating pointless fights over and over again until both sides are gone till nothing remains?"
Many of them didn't say anything.
"Believe me, this is hard not just for you, it's hard for me as well. But what isn't so hard that we didn't like knowing it had to be done? Maybe instead of staying stuck in the past, or future maybe we should focus on what's in front of us right now. Because we very well will never get another opportunity like this again."
"Why should we!? They've always hated us!"
"Yeah, so why bother with them!?"
"They want us gone! Maybe its them who should be gone!"
"Because we all live on the same world!" Chris answered back. "At one point at time, all of us lived in harmony...Then times just changed...Others started to make dumb choices...Others before us have paid the price because of that...Even now all of us are still paying for them being stupid. So why do we have to repeat their mistakes? If we choose not to try and at least think of an alternative, then history will just continue repeating itself, over and over again. Nothing ever changes, nothing gets better. So why don't we try to break that cycle? All I'm asking is that we come together and say for once enough is enough." He started pacing for a few second before stopping.
"I...I just can't listen to this anymore...I can't-no, we can't accomplish a damn single thing meaning of worth until we finally settle things."
"Settle things? What else is there!?" Good Billions questioned. "They attacked us and there determined to cure all mute kind!"
"That maybe, but until we decide to cure ourselves of petty differences and put a stop to all of this nonsense between the two species. If anyone else knows that's why HMUFA was made then you know exactly that this could be the last chance we have." Chris calmed himself down as he continued.
"Were on the stage and at the critical moment in history where the fate of everyone's lives and futures are in our hands, now! Countless years both sides have been fighting, this isn't just about humans and mutes getting along this is about us trying to see what is before us now, that's...that is the hardest thing were trying to do. Believe me, this hard for me too, more than you know and realize. Settling and trying for peace." He gets up and steps forward.
"At first we all started out as enemies." Chris motions to Jamack. "You tried to capture us but in the end, we saved you and you let Kipo go." He motions to Yumyan and Molly. "Molly, you captured us, we tried to escape but instead of doing that we got Yumyan out a stupid tree." The timber cats and a few other mutes laughed at that remark.
"Please don't remind me..." Yumyan muttered in embarrassment.
He motions over to Cotton and Camille. "You two, you didn't want nothing to do with us, you wanted us to scram and poison us." He then moves over the wolves, and the brothers good and bad billions. "We might've had our differences, but even inspite of that you guys had something in common with Kipo right?" Both twins glanced at one another before shrugging and nodding.
Chris glanced over giving a thumbs up to the fitness racoon. "Carton, Label...You and your friends didn't care about what we were, you saw us for who we were. You lived in fear from a mega pidgeon, Big Beak. We didn't have to help you, but yet we did because it was wrong...And we wanted to help." The two racoons glanced to one another nodding with big smiles.
The male hybrid looks over to Scarlemagne. "You wanted to control everything, to get back at those who've hurt you, but also putting the lives of everyone at risk..." The mandrill put his head down in shame. "Inspite of that though, we gave you a second chance because you were a victim too, sometimes second chances and forgiveness are necessary. To a certain degree. The rest of you, want nothing to do with humans. Yet you're working alongside two human hybrids and a small handful. Am I right or not? Answer me, all of you am I not wrong? I know I'm asking a lot out of all you...But can you just...trust me?
Many of the mutes all glanced and talked with one another speaking up chattering amongst themselves. All of them grew silent, before long Jamack stepped forward.
"You are right...Everything I ever did was for my own gain so I can rise to the top. Not caring for anything...You two didn't have to set me free when I got caught by the wolves...I captured Kipo planning on using her as a meal ticket...But after some talking with her, I let Kipo go. Could've been living in the high life, but I didn't. Instead, I got caught by shrimp, forced to due dishes or I'd get eaten. I traveled with the Theaottters then I got again. You guys came and saved me again. I guess everything works in like mysterious ways or whatever." The frog shrugged at the last part. "Now here I am alongside you, trying to change the world. So, even though I think this whole idea is crazy, eh I like to see where this goes."
The next to step up was Yumyan. "Alright...I admit it, I ran up the tree because I was scared. I was ashamed of myself and didn't earn the right to call myself Axelord, but despite that you both convinced me otherwise. Not to mention, I got to finally reunite with the son of my closest friend." The cat turned over to Chris. "Right now, I know he's smiling up above with your mom. Your both truly brave warriors. I will fight beside you two."
"And so will I." Molly was the next to come forward. "In the end, when this is over, our story will be carved into the great hall. Where others would hear of our stories for generations."
Both Cotton and Camile came up. "I will admit, you guys were a buzz kill showing up on our turf. But everything turned out good, because we had new friends to jam with and we continue finding more then we ever thought."
"Plus still stand by those words, she plays like an angel and you shred like a demon." Camile added.
Next up came the brothers Good Billions began first. "You make some excellent points. It is nice to know that there are humans interested in the scientific field."
"But you did trick us." Bad Billions chimed in. "And you beat our pack."
"But despite that, you did save us from Scarlemagne." Good Billions recalled before looking a bit sad. "That and...You save my brothers life."
"Even though we don't like we are in your debt and were thankful for what you've done for all of us. Even though we tried to eat you in the beginning."
After the Newton Wolves spoke up the racoons wet next.
"You guys are right, we didn't do anything because we were afraid!" Label yelled. "But, you still believed in us."
"Yeah totally, if it wasn't for you guys we probably still wouldn't be here." Carton added.
"The same goes for me..." Scarlemagne stepped before Chris. "Even after everything I've done, you chose to save my life. I didn't deserve that, you could've let me to my fate. Instead Kipo made me think back on my actions and reflect upon them. Although everyone is still afraid of me, I don't blame them. All I know is that I'm thankful to have finally gotten the opportunity to bond with my little sister." The mandril sent a smile over to the female hybrid who smiled almost breaking into tears hearing that proclamation.
"You both saw something in me, something that I couldn't see. I am forever indebted to you two for as long as I live. Whatever you need or want me to do, I shall do it." Scarlemagne puts a hand onto Chris's shoulder. "As for your plan, I stand behind you, all the way."
"Same here." Loretta and Wheels stepped forward. "You risked your tail for us, so your good in our books."
"We feel the same." Amy followed in suit with Brad right next to her. "After all, we swore to rebuild Rat Land when everything is done."
"And we need everyone's help to do." Her partner added. "Plus, we want everyone to enjoy it, both mutes and humans alike."
"So does that mean we are in agreement to proceeding along with this plan?" He got multiple cheers back in response. This showed that Chris's words had reached them. While they were doing this, Chris looked over to Kipo who was shedding tears of joy thankful that she hadn't lost him. He was still there, if he was willing to try and push aside his anger towards Emilia and give the humans another chance, then she would be behind him fully, one hundred percent all the way.
Inspite of what the humans did and try to do. The mutes had given them one last chance, thanks to the one of the oddest beings on the surface itself. A mixture of both words, man and beast. This plan had to work, it had to. The very future they all are working towards to, hung in the balance.
However, they knew that this dream would not happen without a rough bumps. Like in every other story, there's always an opposing side, that will not sit idly by.
To be continued
(As I said, this chapter would be a lot different, and wouldn't be the episode where Dave tells his backstory. Love it hate it, up to you. Now for those that keep bugging and pestering me when I update this thing, knock it off.)
Plus be glad,
Now replying back to reviewers (Also another note I will only be replying back to those that reviewed the previous chapter prior before this. That also includes the numerous amount of guests. I'm not sorry, but geez, do you have to keep on going with them? I do appreciate that, but after a while it gets a bit much, no offense.)
The Sayian Boy: Your awesome as usual.
avengersendgame426: First off really appreciate your understanding, and hope you've enjoyed reading that story. As for this chapter oh yes, a lot correct my friend and as you can see what happened had effects especially on our two mute human hybrids. Sorry I didn't include Dave doing his thing, but it is what it is and I have no regrets on that. As for Emilia's end, don't worry I already got something in mind. Other than that appologize for the long wait for this chapter, including on it not being what you though it would be.
LoneWolf427: Oh yeah, nothing is always perfect, everyone always has a fight or two, but it's always up to those people on what they want and choose to do including how to fix it.
Marbeled Gold: Hope you like how this chapter ended and thank you so much for helping me update this thing.
Spiral-Voltron-Zero0Q1: Oh don't worry he will later on.
SilverStudent: A bit graphic, was gonna consider somehting more dramatic but decided not to.
heroflow1000: Yes they do.
GRUndertaker: Thank you for understanding.
TheBeatles211: Feelings mutual man, as for the big explosion it did just happen and you are spot on with how the two are. That is a good saying. Also hope you liked this chapter even though it's much different then what it was supposed to be.
tbfiremon771: Hope ya like it.
gabeherndon308: Does this answer your question?
Falchion27: Of course I am, I mean I do have other stories. Those alone ought to be signs that I'm still alive.
leejayden029: Happy to hear that.
Review dude 357: I do apologize for the long wait, but I am glad that I was able to update this thing. And I hope that you did.
If you want, you can send me a p.m. and we could talk a bit. Your call.
: If you mean chapter here it is, as for sequel. No there's not gonna be a sequel.
DJ-Zombie: 1. Eh, well you can't always please the people, and I didn't really care just I like I didn't care about the Dave episode. Don't get me wrong I liked it, but I just again, didn't show much interest in it and wanted this to follow up with what happened last time and that's about it. Was gonna make it more violent, but decided against it. 2. A bit kind of over the top, but nah I don't really think that'd be necessary, funny but don't really see it.
1971kr: Thank you for your kind words, as for the season final, I liked it.
