Chapter Nine

"An old factory; go check it out," a young yellow monster said as he shoved his identical twin brother toward an abandoned building.

"I'm not going in there!"

"Are you guys scared?" A young Jimmy Sulivan said with a smirk.

The two glanced at each other before sneering at him. "Are you? Go check it out, Sully!"

The blue fluffy child huffed in annoyance. "Fine, I will. What's so scary about an abandoned factory anyways."

It felt like a whole hour as young Jimmy snuck toward the old building that seemed to be a factory. They had no idea what had been worked on there.

It was up to young Jimmy to discover, which got him bumped. He opened the cracked door, and made his way into the dark deserted room. It was hard to make out what was in there except it was old and damaged.

"Chtt, this is so stupid." HE wanted to turn back, but he knew his friends would taunt him about him being scared. So, he continued observing.

"Is Sully dead?" he heard from outside.

"I think he is!"

Jimmy grew annoyed. "I'm still alive!" He made his way to the left and found a door in the middle of nowhere. "What's this?" He didn't hesitate to take a hold of the door knob, and opened it.

What the child saw next, terrified him. The figure of a human child that was not made out, stood before him.

A human, young Jimmy thought, I found a working porter to their world!

The monster wanted to run away, but his body wouldn't let him. He stared ahead at the figure, and saw two terrifying yellow eyes.

The next thing young Jimmy saw was something big and sharp in the child's hand. A saw?

"DIE!" the child screamed in a demonic voice.

Jimmy woke up from his day dreaming. He had come to a park to think, and he suddenly got childhood memories, which began to taunt him.

Jimmy wasn't even sure if they were real memories. He wondered if it was a childhood nightmare. Either way, it felt connected to the way he had been feeling recently.

The blue monster didn't feel safe, and he didn't feel like anyone else was safe either. That thing reminds me of Lettuce Fingers, he thought.

It didn't seem to make much sense to Jimmy. It didn't look like the evil entity that was harassing him, but he did get the same horrified feeling when near it.

The more Jimmy thought about it, the more he realized that the only way to reveal this thing was to look for it.

That idea terrified him, but Jimmy knew it was the only way to protect himself and his best friend.

Even as Jimmy tried to process the idea, Mike had a hard time making his way back home. Being back at the apartment would only remind him of the fights he just had with his friend.

After thirty minutes of bargaining, Mike decided to make his way to Celia's house. There was no point in wasting his day wandering around if it meant staying away from the girl he loved.

"I'm so glad you came," Celia said after he arrived. "Where's Sully?"

Mike only sighed as he walked into the house and turned to the woman. "We had a fight," he said.

"Oh Michael, I'm so sorry." She kneeled down to stroke his head, which gave him pleasurable shivers.

"I guess it happens," he said.

"You know, all best friends fight," she said to comfort him. "Don't feel bad about it."

"We used to be enemies." Mike didn't want to waste his time telling her the story of how he and the blue fur ball became rivals back at the university. He was more interested in what was ahead of him, rather than the past.

Celia invited Mike to sit on the sofa with him before showing him her highschool yearbook. "Wow," Mike said, "you looked beautiful even before."

Celia giggled before smacking his arm in a playful way. "You should show me yours someday."

"Eh, I'm more interested in you." He couldn't help but lean forward as he saw her get closer to him.

Mike slightly figetted, not sure he wanted to continue so he wouldn't mess anything up. However, he could sense Celia's eager actions.

Mike quickly gave the girl a peck on the lips before sitting back. He felt like a shy little boy, but the more he waited for her to react, the more he wanted to kiss her again.

"You're a charmer, Micheal," Celia said before he could make another move. "I really like you a lot."

Mike turned to her with a grin. "I like you, too." He sat with her, happily enjoying his time with Celia. All of it almost made him forget about the problem with Jimmy.
