HARRY POTTER IS BROKEN

I don't own Harry Potter. I do own the story and any original characters that I create. I seek no profit from my writings in the Harry Potter Universe. The rights are owned by J K Rowling and whoever happens to own Warner Bros.

Harry Potter returns to 4 Privet Drive a broken boy. He's seen another boy callously cut down in front of him, he's been forced to duel Voldemort, seen the ghosts of his parents and been told how proud they are of him. Then Dumbledore makes him return to Durzkaban, instead of spending the Summer with Sirius. Harry is emotionally exhausted.

Harry or rather Henry, Lord Potter had a problem. His Head of House Potter ring had fallen off his finger. He wondered, if he should wear the Heir ring. He summoned it, but it would not stay on his finger, either.

Harry found a wand, an ebony wand on his bedside table. He decided to go see his goblin account manager and have the wand, stone from the Peverell ring and Invisibility Cloak sent to his family Vault, if he had one. He'd send his Potter rings there, too and, in the meantime, try to figure out what had gone wrong.

Harry waited in line until a teller, Mantanvil, came free. He asked to see his account manager. Shortly, he got to see Bloodaxe, his account manager. He gave him a couple of knuts. Harry wasn't sure why he did that.

Bloodaxe explained that Harry had three Vaults. The Potter family vault that he could only access once he turned 21 and the Fleamont family Vault that the Potters' had inherited around 90 years earlier. Bloodaxe said his school Vault had been untouched until he withdrew funds aged 11. Bloodaxe had been unable to reach him before then and was surprised he had not met Harry then. Harry explained that Hagrid met him and showed him around. Bloodaxe said that explained that.

Harry sent the items he wanted to to the Potter family Vault. He took 500 galleons out. He bought what he assumed would be his OWL books. He was intrigued by Willard's Putting the Fence into Defence Against the Dark Arts. Using objects to intercept or deflect enemy spells sounded a really good idea. Harry bought a trunk that he hoped would be Ron proof. He still had about 250 galleons. He wandered into Knockturn Alley. He bought a second wand with holster and concealer for 75 galleons. A 10 inch redwood with Thunderer tail feather. He found a book store that had an interesting range of books. It had 1001 'things': 1001 Most Potente Spells; 1001 Most Potent Potions and 1001 Uses for a House-Elf. The shop had two other books of interest. A History of the Sacred 28 published in 1980 and Rituals of Pureblood Families. Harry had 20 galleons left after splurging out. Dobby took Harry back to 4 Privet Drive. Harry made sure the three special spells were protecting the property. He was unsure about turning up at the Wizengamot in his hand-me-downs. Ultimately, he did not care. This was who he was. This was what he had been made.

Dobby took him to the Ministry building for 2pm. Just around the corner, where no-one could see him. He had both wands. He made his way through the Ministry front door. No sneaking around back for the servants' entrance. He just made it into courtroom 10, where the Wizengamot met. Dumbledore banged his gavel and proclaimed, "Let all who have business before the Wizengamot come forward."

"I have come to claim my Wizengamot seats by right of inheritance and by right of conquest."

"Who are you?" Dumbledore demanded.

"You must be going senile, Headmaster, if you do not recognize me," Harry took off his cap. There were gasps.

"I am the Chief Warlock, Harry. Now go back home."

"You do not have the right to call me Harry and I demand you never call me Harry, ever again. I have come for my Wizengamot seats. How come you have never told me I had Wizengamot seats? I recognize Diggle and Vance from when they followed me around, when I was much younger. I don't recognize the one in the Black seat. Does Lord Sirius Orion Black know he's got a proxy voting for him?"

"Now, see here Harry," Minister Fudge began.

"What is this? A disease where everyone thinks they can call me Harry?" Only my friends get to call me Harry and you're no friend of mine. Perhaps you can tell me how 20 Obliviators turned up at my address in muggle Surrey, when where I live is supposed to be a secret? You remember that, Minister. When I accidentally inflated Marge Dursley for saying that if there was something wrong with the runt of the litter there was something wrong with the bitch who birthed him. I do wonder, if I would have been within my rights to kill the muggle on the spot. You knew where I was. How did that happen?"

There were many in the Chamber who remembered Lily Potter and were now thinking dark thoughts about Marge Dursley.

"Keeper of the Laws, is Lord Potter entitled to seats in the Wizengamot and which seats are they?" Regent Bones asked.

The Keeper of the Laws consulted the records of the Wizengamot. They were the same as the ones Dumbledore had access to.

"Yes, Lord Potter is entitled to the seats of Potter by inheritance, Gaunt by conquest and Black by virtue of being Heir Black. Lord Potter is emancipated."

Harry took his seats. He sat in the Potter seat. Madam Bones had the three who had been seated, in Harry's seats, arrested.

"Lord Potter, you claim You-Know-Who is back. What proof do you have," Lord Selwyn asked.

"Why ask me for proof, Lord Selwyn. You were in the cemetery with your Dark Lord."

"You have no proof," Lord Selwyn said.

"Ok Horace. We've never met. Moldyshorts introduced you to me. I'm sure you remember or perhaps you were still suffering from those crucios he cast on you."

"I repeat that you have no proof."

"Swear an oath on your magic and your life that you were not summoned by You-Know-Who to a graveyard June 24th 1995."

"I, Harry James Potter, swear on my life and magic that you, Lord Horace Selwyn were in the graveyard, summoned by the Dark Lord who calls himself Lord Voldemort June 24th 1995." Nothing happened to Harry. "Lumos." His wand brought forth a light. "Now, you swear. I compel you, by Lady Magic."

"I, Lord Selwyn, swear on my life and magic that I, Lord Horace Selwyn was not in the graveyard, summoned by the Dark Lord who calls himself Lord Voldemort June 24th 1995." Lumos." Nothing happened. Then Lord Selwyn grabbed his throat. He fell to the floor, dead.

"Now, Minister. Last year you tried to have my godfather Lord Sirius Orion Black kissed by those two dementors you keep close. You accepted the claim that three students and Remus Lupin were confounded by Sirius Black. Remus Lupin is a werewolf and werewolves cannot be confounded. This year you have Barty Crouch Junior kissed by one of those two dementors of yours before he can tell us what Moldyshorts has planned. Course, the way Sirius Black tells it, you didn't even arrest him before he got thrown into Azkaban. Are you as incompetent as you appear or is there a more sinister motive. I move for the dismissal and arrest of Cornelius Oswald Fudge."

"I second the motion." That came from Augusta Longbottom. The motion carried. Amos Diggory was made Acting Minister. His first action was to fire Dolores Jane Umbridge from the Ministry.

"Anything else you'd like done, Lord Potter?" Dumbledore asked sarcastically.

"As matter of fact there is. I move that the 10 Death eaters in Azkaban are kissed by Dementors before Moldyshorts breaks them out."

"I second the motion," Lord MacMillan said. The motion passed, by simple majority.

"You should learn to forgive and give second chances, Lord Potter," Dumbledore said in that disapproving tone of voice.

"Cedric Diggory would be alive today had I done as he asked and taken hold of the Goblet, alone. But no, I had to insist we take it together so he'd win a share of the prize money and it would be a Hogwarts victory. We arrive in the graveyard and Moldy orders him killed and Peter Petigrew kills him. I spared Pettigrew's life last year. I have to live with the consequences of my actions. I will give no further second chances."

"The clothes make the man. What do your say about you?" Dumbledore looked to humiliate Harry.

"My clothes are hand me downs from my overly large cousin. Normal muggles don't spend their money on freaks like me. They told Hagrid who delivered my Hogwarts letter, the 24th letter and first one that reached me that they tried to beat the magic out of me. (There were gasps of outrage in the chamber) I wonder what the muggles thought about all those post owls waiting for a reply. What gave you the right to leave me on their doorstep the night of November 1st? What's given you the right to send me back there every year I've been at Hogwarts? You had people trying to stop me from going shopping. What gave you the right to try to do that?"

"You Aunt's is the safest place for you."

"No, it never was. Are you really saying that Longbottom Manor, being brought up with my godbrother Heir Longbottom, would have been unsafe?"

Augusta Longbottom looked at Dumbledore. "I'm interested in the answer to that question, Dumbledore."

"I have made mistakes."

"You do not get to deflect your liability in this matter," Regent Longbottom said.

"Euphemia Potter nee Fawley, Lord Potter's grandmother. Are you saying Lord Potter would have been unsafe growing up with me and my family?" Lord Fawley demanded.

"I am no friend to the Potters," Lord Nott declared. "But as the Lord of Noble and Most Ancient House, Lord Potter could not be placed by you with muggles. I see now that we were railroaded as the Wizengamot to seal Lord James and Lady Lily Potters' Wills. Railroaded to make you Lord Potter's magical guardian and not to insist on a trial for the then Heir Black.

You, Dumbledore kept off the Agenda every attempt Lord Arcturus Black made to have Sirius brought to trial. Year after year you assured us that Lord Potter was safe and well. You lied to us. You never saw to Lord Potter's wellbeing or upbringing. You have kept him ignorant of his heritage. You assigned proxies for his seats in this Chamber, with no right. I move to have the Wills unsealed."

"I second the motion," Lord Rowle declared. That motion was passed almost unanimously.

"I move that you Dumbledore be removed as the magical guardian of Lord Potter."

"I second the motion," Lord Flint averred. That motion passed by the same margin.

"Now, we learn that ex-Minister Fudge did not even arrest Sirius Orion Black, Heir and now Lord to House Black. He, an innocent man kept in Azkaban. Just to keep him from raising Lord Potter. I move that we strike down the kiss on sight order and declare Sirius Orion Black innocent on all charges and agree to pay him 10000 galleons a year for wrongful imprisonment. I further move that Albus Percival Wulfric Brain Dumbledore pay that money, with immediate effect, as a fine against the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black with immediate effect. I further move that we as a Wizengamot recognize Lord Potter's emancipation."

Harry watched and voted for all the motions that received seconders from Death Eater ranks. He saw this as Tom's move against Dumbledore and to isolate himself. He should really vote against Dumbledore's removal as Chief Warlock. However, Dumbledore had brought this on himself.

"Your indulgence, Lord Nott, but I believe I am also owed 10000 galleons a year from Dumbledore, with immediate effect, for failing to act as a magical guardian."

"I second your motion, Lord Potter," Lord Nott had a broad smile. That motion passed.

"I shall, of course, pay 140000 galleons, immediately, to each of Lords Potter and Black. I declare this session of the Wizengamot closed." Dumbledore banged his gavel. Clever Harry thought; Dumbledore had bought himself some time.

Harry was escorted to Gringotts by Amelia Bones. Gringotts told him he'd got an extra 140000 galleons. Unfortunately, his Vault was limited to 50k galleons. Harry told them to put the 140k galleons into the Charlus Potter Vault. Harry had not forgotten to give his account manager 2 knuts. He was also told that an additional four Potter Wills awaited reading. Harry was presented with a list of Potter items missing from the original inventory. Potter Invisibility Cloak (returned as gift(?) December 1991. Time Turner - Charlus Potter's. Potter Family Grimoire - James Potter had last possession. High Chair – James Potter had last possession. Pensieve - James Potter had last possession. Potters Through the Ages - James Potter last had possession.

Harry authorized the goblins to recover all outstanding items. The smile the goblins made, his account manager and guards, made Harry's stomach churn. He was glad he hadn't eaten anything recently. Amelia's monocle fell out.

Amelia Bones took Harry back to the Ministry and gave him a cup of tea and sandwiches. Harry then told her everything he remembered after being taken to the Dursleys Nov 1st 1981. Amelia made a note. Where was Harry late Oct 31st to being brought to the Dursleys the night of November 1st? Hogwarts? Harry then explained what had happened at Hogwarts each of his four years. He included getting a warning from Mafalda Hopkirk for casting a hover charm, when he did not know how to cast one, back them.

Amelia told him he owned the basilisk corpse and should give the Dwarves of Dundee first refusal, because the Chamber of Secrets was in Magical Scotland. Harry said he'd owl them that evening. Harry was able to prove that Peter Pettigrew was still alive from the Wall of Life in the Department of Mysteries. Whilst there, he was told that all the Time Turners were loaned to the Ministry by House Potter and were paid a royalty every time one was used. The department said the last time one was used was over a decade previously. After the Mintumble Incident, all time turners were set to a one-use backwards movement of 5 hours. The time turner Hermione used had taken them back from five to midnight to five to noon. Twelve hours. It was not listed on Ministry use. That meant it was Charlus Potter's.

Harry listened to the prophecy, in full. The voice was the same as when Harry had heard the prophecy Trelawney had given at the end of his third year. He'd have to ask Aberforth Dumbledore about what he had heard back in 1979. After 16 years, would Aberforth even remember? Only one way to find out. Harry travelled to Hogsmeade via floo that evening. He spoke with a representative of the Dwarves of Dundee about the carcass of the basilisk. He managed to speak with Aberforth who confirmed that Trelawney spoke a couple of lines of prophecy in her own voice before the eavesdropper, Snape, was exposed.

Harry read the Hogwarts Rulebook, making some notes of particularly interesting rules that applied to him. He read the book about rituals and House rings. There were rings made by New Houses that relied on genetics/hereditary right as their focus. Then there were rings that relied on hereditary factors and magic to approve. Then there were the ones that depended on blood. The Potter rings depended on blood purity.

Harry allowed himself a laugh. Blood adopted into House Black as a baby. Basilisk venom and Phoenix tears in his blood thanks to the Chamber of Secrets made for a Harry Potter that was not blood pure. He doubted he'd be able to access the Potter Family Grimoire. There was a ritual he could do to make the rings and Grimoire accept him, but only once he'd turned 21. Well that was a bummer. Harry laughed a good hearty laugh. A pureblood family that did not hold with blood supremacy had House rings that did. Oh, the irony.

Harry found a spell that his mother had crafted that would help cure Tonks. He'd make a start on that on Monday.

Harry had Dobby move all of his stuff out of 4 Privet Drive and into 12 Grimmauld Place. Screw staying in Surrey. Sirius had heard that Dumbledore had given the Cloak back to Harry. He checked the Cloak for charms on it or around it and for anything that should not be on the Cloak. He found a strand or two that ought not be there and removed them. Sirius knew that Dumbledore believed in the Deathly Hallows. He'd heard his father, Orion, dismiss the Dark Lord's belief in these items. Sirius came to the conclusion that all three items existed. The Cloak and Stone were two of the three and Dumbledore had the Elder Wand aka The Death Stick. All Harry had to do was beat Dumbledore and ownership would transfer to him. Harry could then give the items back to Death. Sirius came from a family with some pretty harrowing dealings with Death. The Title Master of Death probably meant nothing, anyway.

Harry spent Sunday reading and practicing his spells. Sirius told Harry his theory about getting the Elder Wand from Dumbledore. Harry gave him a blank look. Not for the first time, Sirius cursed the whiskered one under his breath. Sirius explained that the story was in a book, Tales of Beedle the Bard.

"Not another book, Sirius. I already have all of next year's course books, the additional books I have acquired and last year's notes to improve upon. I've all the reading matter that I can cope with right now."

"Okay, pup, this old dog knows when he's licked," Sirius laughed. Sirius thought about Remus Lupin. The man had been a friend. That friendship had become strained when Sirius had thought that Remus was the spy. He needed a Steward for House Black. Remus would have to leave the Order and revoke his oath of loyalty to Albus Dumbledore. He sent an owl off to Remus inviting him to come to 12 Grimmauld Place.

Monday came and Sirius and Harry apparated to Godric's Hollow. Harry felt there was something off about the protections on the place. He went through the four spells gain. Sirius noticed how tired Harry looked. He smelt something. Something familiar. Snivellus. He indicated Harry should take up a position covering the door. Sirius placed himself out of sight.

Snape had been sent to Godric's Hollow to look for something. Albus had felt his ties to the place weaken to almost non-existent. Albus hadn't found it all those years ago and had destroyed a third of the house in his frustration. Snape walked into the living room to find himself looking down Harry Potter's wand.

"What are you doing here, Potter?" Snape demanded.

"That's funny. This is my house. You're not welcome here. Why are you here?" Harry was thinking very hard about what happened to Millicent Bagnold. He was looking intensely into Snape's eyes. He saw a younger Snape standing over Bagnold's dead body. He then vanished the body. Harry thought about his relatives. Four Potters murdered to make it look like Dragon Pox. His Evans grandparents confounded to drive into the crash that cost them their lives. Another four relatives. This time four Blacks and a one Malfoy, again from what was made to look like Dragon Pox. On whose orders, Harry had thought. Dumbledore. And my parents? An image of Snape helping Dumbledore burying them. Then one of Snape picking up a page of a letter Lily Potter had written for Harry. Harry felt numb. 12 people murdered on the orders of one Albus Dumbledore.

"Obliviate him."

Sirius did.

"Get what you wanted?" Sirius asked.

"I did," Harry answered. Sirius did not press for more. Harry had not missed the look of absolute triumph on Snape's face, when he looked at a dead James Potter. The sadness on Snape's face, when he looked at Lily did not begin to make up for the first look. Sirius frowned. His godson was not displaying any emotion.

The visit to McAllister's was long and tedious. At least that is what Sirius thought. The Solicitor read six Wills. It turned out that Harry had a £60000 trust fund for his education left to him by his Evans grandparents. Strange the Dursleys had never mentioned that. He owned the properties that Vernon and Marge Dursley lived in. They owed a staggering amount of back rent. Harry was also the landlord to Severus Snape. He was up to date with his payments. Snape lived in the house Lily had grown up in. Harry wondered if there was some sort of fetish going on here. Scratch that idea. He did not want to know. Harry had a muggle bank account and Lily had made some good investments.

Sirius got up and announced he had to go to another meeting.

"I am glad he has left," McAllister said. "I have never felt comfortable around members of House Black. Present company accepted. I heard about your emancipation in the wizarding world. It does not apply in the muggle world. I can apply for it, for you, in the muggle world. I suspect your relatives would sign the documents, if it meant getting rid of you.

Your emancipation in the wizarding world will be challenged."

"Stumbledore."

"Yes. Not himself. Probably suggest you need to experience family life with the Weasleys."

"The family with seven children, no money and a controlling shrew of a mother."

"The very same. The Blood Traitors." McAllister nearly spat.

"What does that mean? Are they Blood Traitors because they associate with the Light."

"It WOULD BE A MISTAKE, Lord Potter, to think of Dumbledore as being of the Light. The Weasleys are Blood Traitors because Cedrilla and Septimus Weasley became Knights of Walpurgis for Grindelwald. Lords Black and Potter took them down. The only reason that they did not lose everything was that Arthur Weasley opposed his parents."

"It's hard to imagine Arthur Weasley opposing anyone," Harry said. He hadn't forgotten the fist fight that he and Malfoy senior had got into that enabled Lucius to slip Tom's Diary into Ginny bag. "I thought Arthur was born after the war."

"He was born in 1930. He had a real beauty lined up to marry, before Molly Weasley entered his life. The only thing the Weasleys want from you is your money. I've sorted out a problem with our American cousins. They seemed to think James was married to Petunia I've been able to show them that James married Lily and that she was a witch. I blame Dumbledore. The Americans have become a lot more co-operative. They dislike Dumbledore with a passion. Dumbledore tells them that muggles are harmless. They know for a fact that muggles are far from harmless, first hand. The contractor will be starting on the repairs at the beginning of next week. You've a muggle bank account at Barclay's. The eagle bank. Your account and portfolio are managed by my son, Henry."

"They can continue. They're doing a great job."

"He'll appreciate the praise, Lord Potter. You don't seem to be in any hurry to take up your muggle money."

"I think, until I get emancipated in the muggle world, I best keep looking like this. I told the Sorting Hat that I wanted to prove myself academically. It wanted to stuff me in Slytherin. I'd have been dead within a week. So, I got Gryffindor, instead."

"From what you've told me you would have done well in Ravenclaw. You've let Ron Weasley hold you back academically and socially. Pardon me for saying this, but you've let Hermione Granger do your thinking for you. Yes, the headmaster has withheld information, but you've not gone searching for that until now. You're up against a wizard who has schemed to get where he is for a century and to keep what he has for nearly 50 years. Yes, you've won a round against him. Can you go the distance and win the bout? That is the question. He has reduced Houses Potter and Black to you and he does not intend you to survive against You-Know-Who. Thanks to Hermione Granger's efforts, you know every spell that is taught at Hogwarts. You need to know the theory, too. Both of your Houses had alliances in the Wizengamot that now lay in tatters. You should be concentrating on Restitution against House Crouch for their entire assets for their actions against Sirius.

You proved You-Know-Who is back. He'll not now sit back and accumulate his forces. The Malfoys know that Draco is cut off from the House Black fortune. They'll not sit back and wait for natural causes to overtake You and Sirius.

Your move to execute the ten Death Eaters in Azkaban is shrewd, if it takes place. There are both Death Eaters and Order of Phoenix members in the Ministry. Removing them would be a good idea. Changing the subject, I can initiate recovery of rent owed to you."

"Yes recover the rent and then begin eviction proceedings. Proceed with eviction proceedings against Snape. Once, they're all out, sell the properties."

"And the proceeds?"

"80% of net into my investments and 20% into an account I can spend, if I need to."

"I believe that concludes our business for today. I'll bill you with the cost of the work that I am doing and how much your parents pre-paid me. I'm sure they had a contract with the goblins, too. I doubt the goblins have done what they agreed. I received communication from Ted Tonks that his firm won't help you. Something about nearly killing his daughter."

"Oh that. I'm working on a potion to help her. She was part of three wizards and witches who tried to stop me leaving my house."

"I see. I shall inform him of both things."

With that Harry left. He wandered around Godric's Hollow. He bought some lunch and went to a nearby park to eat it. He thought as he ate. He should get fiendfyre to work. He wished he'd had it under control to use in the graveyard. He could have removed 30 wizards, with any luck. He'd go after the Death Eaters.

Harry had finished eating and was sitting enjoying the view. An old lady carrying a bag sat down next to him.

"Hello," Harry said, politely.

"I remember your parents, young man. I have two things for you, well three but you'll discover that in due course. I have a special bag for you, a copy of my 13th edition. The last one that contained the unbridled truth, before they started getting edited for mass release. I've included a portkey that will take you to Nurmengard and bring you back to your house. I have been over enough times. The words to get you there and then the ones to return you that need to be spoken are on the note. You should copy the words for the portkey. The note will self-destruct. My nephew Gellert has lived too long, no more than a play thing for the whiskered one."

The old lady then rose, leaving the bag, and departed to park. Harry threw his rubbish in the bin provided for the public. He picked out the book. The 13th Edition of The History of Magic. There was a blank piece of paper included. He used his biro and write the words down. The page in the book talked about Gellert Grindelwald. The portkey was a pop up in the book. The note told him where Nurmengard could be find and then shrivelled into nothing.

Harry spoke the word. Moments later he was in Nurmengard. He killed Gellert with a piercing curse. He used the vanish spell to get rid of the body and head. He felt nothing, when killing Grindelwald. He then cast the four spells of his mother, making sure he matched the wand movements exactly. Harry felt the spells succeed, even as he dropped onto the nearest armchair, passed out.

When Harry came to, he realised he had Nurmengard. Everywhere the Germans and their allies had marched, Gellert had plundered wealth and magical treasures. This was truly the greatest treasure of the wizarding world and now it was his. He read a book about the Knights of Walpurgis in the British isles. They were an order worst than the Death Eaters. Septimus and Cedrilla Weasley had been the leaders. They were iron-willed, steely eyed servants of evil. How did such strong personality types have such a wuss of a son? Unless they had not and it had been Albus Dumbledore who had given Arthur a personality makeover. Harry had just taken this Castle away from Albus Dumbledore. Damn, if that did not feel like an achievement.

Albus Dumbledore was seething. It had been a long time since anyone had gotten the better of him in public. It was only after a few hours of him ranting to himself that he could not recall where Gellert was. With Tom back, Albus could not take himself out of circulation and use his time-turner. Damn the boy for proving Tom had returned. After all his carefully lain plans, too. Amos Diggory, acting Minister. This was most galling. He'd thought that Diggory would have been too emotionally wrought to take the Ministry; the way Charlus Potter had been. That man had not noticed as his positions had been stripped away from him.

Naturally, he'd attack the emancipation of Lord Potter in the magical world. Fortunately, Petunia held the guardianship in the muggle world. Lord Potter was too unstable to be allowed to be emancipated. He still had allies. They would make the case. Dumbledore would act suitably sorrowful.

It was early evening, when Harry used the portkey back to Godric's Hollow. Sirius rushed in and hugged him.

"Where have you been, pup?" Sirius demanded.

"I am sorry, Sirius, I had a lot on my mind. There was an awful lot to take in. How did your meeting go?" Harry replied. It wasn't quite a lie.

"Remus Lupin has agreed to become Steward for House Black and resign from the Order and revoke his Oath of Loyalty to Dumbledore. Will you make him Steward to House Potter?"

"Lupin was your friend and my father's, not mine. He did not tell me a single thing about my parents the whole time he was my Professor. He'll not get the post."

"Okay," Sirius looked despondent. "Perhaps, he can show you that he is worthy?"

"Perhaps," Harry said, raising Sirius' spirits. The pair apparated back to 12 Grimmauld Place. Well, Sirius did the apparating. Harry needed his license.

The pair ate. Sirius told Harry what Remus was going to do. Harry nodded and said yes in all the right places. Sirius was really happy to have gotten his friend back. Harry was not so sure he wanted to share Sirius with Remus. Nor was Harry as accepting as Sirius that Remus Lupin could overcome his loyalty oath to Dumbledore that easily. Sirius could because Dumbles had betrayed him. Dumbles had not betrayed Lupin. At least, not yet.
