The twins jumped up seeing them, "JACK!" Harry shouted as he ran forward "ROSE!" Poppy shouted, also running forward. Grace stood up, relieved that Jack and Rose had returned to the house.
Jack dropped the picnic basket in shock, also dropping his grip on Rose's hand unintentionally at the same time.
"W- what the-" Jack said in disbelief, picking up Harry and holding him so tight and close that Harry thought he might explode, Rose doing the same to Poppy. Grace walked over slowly but Jack and Rose moved forward, pulling her in to a hug so the 5 of them were in a huge embrace.
"What- how?" Rose said, tears filling her eyes "we're freezing" Grace laughed a little "can we go inside before the questions" "of course we can" Rose laughed and unlocked the door "there we go…" she said as they walked in to the hallway. Jack still had hold of Harry and Poppy held her arms out for him. Jack took Poppy from Rose and Rose pulled Grace in to a tight hug. "I don't understand" she said, wiping tears from Grace's cheek, making her wince "how did you get that?" She raised an eyebrow to the bruise around Grace's eye, but really, she knew the answer "I'll tell you later" Grace nodded, glancing at the twins and Rose nodded, kissing Grace's head. "Come on" she gestured for the 5 of them to go in to the living room, which they did. Jack put Harry and Poppy down and put some wood on to the fire, feeling how cold the twins were. After doing so, he walked over to Grace and hugged her tightly "it's so good to see you" he said kissing her temple and letting her go before sitting on the sofa. Harry had climbed on to Rose's knee, and Poppy did the same with Jack, Grace sat in between them "we missed you all so much… I can't believe you're here…" Rose said, still in shock "how did you get here? Does your Mother know you're here?" Jack asked, and Harry interrupted "mean Mummy doesn't know we're here… we ran away… can we stay here?" He looked at Jack hopefully, who looked at Grace "he's right" she shrugged "we ran away- well, I ran away, and brought them with me, I hope that you don't mind that we came here" "of course not… but how did you afford to get here? Jack asked "Harry and Poppy travel for free on the train, and I'm still a child, so my ticket wasn't too expensive. My Dad left me a little bit of money when he left for the war. He said it was for emergencies, and I guessed this was an emergency" she nodded. "I think so too" Rose agreed "so can we stay here with you and Daddy?" Poppy asked Rose. Her heart melted at Poppy referring to them as 'mummy' and 'daddy', she assumed after all this time they would have gone back to calling them Jack and Rose. Rose went to reply but Jack answered before she could "yes" "don't promise things we don't know if we can keep, Jack" Rose whispered to him "we'll do everything we can to keep you with us, we promise" Rose nodded "we're not letting them go this time, look at Grace" he said referring to her bruised eye "let's talk about this later" Rose nodded, not wanting to have the conversation in front of the twins.
Poppy yawned and rested her head against Jack's chest "are you tired?" He said softly, moving some hair from out of her face and she just nodded "me too" Harry said "come on, let's get you both to bed" Rose said, standing up and holding Harry close to her, walking up the stairs with Jack, Poppy and Grace following them. Jack and Rose carried the twins in to their room with Grace behind. Grace frowned confused, looking around the room "you kept it as they left it?" She said, looking at the drawings the twins had done still hanging on the wall "of course we did" Rose smiled gently "your room is the still the same too" "can I go see?" Grace asked "it's your room Grace, you don't need to ask" Jack replied "thanks…" she went to walk out but Poppy, who was now in bed, called her name, "Grace?" "Yes?" She said, walking towards her bed "can we have a hug before we go to sleep?" "Of course" she smiled and walked over, bending down and hugging her "I love you" she said before doing the same to Harry who whispered in her ear "thank you for bringing us back here" "you're welcome" she kissed his head before leaving the room.

She walked in to her room, Jack and Rose were telling the truth, everything was exactly the same. She sat down on the edge of the bed and looked around. She couldn't believe she had managed to get herself and the twins back to Jack and Rose somehow. She knew she'd always live in a little fear, wondering if her Mum or Sam would come, after all, they wouldn't be that difficult to find. But it was worth the risk, she knew that…

Jack and Rose sat with the twins until they fell asleep, which was rather quickly. Rose knocked on Grace's door quietly "come in" she replied and Rose entered "are you coming down the stairs?" She asked. Grace nodded "I'll just get changed and then I'll be down" she smiled a little. "OK darling" Rose said and closed the door.
This was it, Grace thought. It was time to relive the last 5 months and tell Jack and Rose all about it…
