A SEA OF HASTILY ASSEMBLED…No one attacked.
"See! We're such cultured people." Dakota smirked at Castor and Pollux who snickered.
"No doubt, brother." Pollux chuckled and Dakota laughed.
Entire families had gathered to…Were all of them demigods?
"Legacies." Frank answered.
"Honestly, I still find it amazing that demigods lived long enough to have legacies." Annabeth shook her head.
"Yeah. Its hard to get your head wrapped around that." Castor sighed.
"I guess we're all just used to it. It happens at one point." Dakota frowned.
"I'd like to have that kind of security in life but I'd want to stay at Camp Half Blood." Percy murmured. The Greek younger gods nodded in agreement.
"Maybe we can do something like that. Have some more development. Expand." Chiron mused. The eyes of the campers at CHB lit up.
"I can help on the designs. We're already coming up for some stuff for the Underworld right? So we can just add this as well." Annabeth said, gesturing to herself and the Hephaestus kids. Chiron smiled and nodded at her. Hades and Persephone looked surprised that the younger gods were actually working on something for the underworld and frankly, they weren't the only ones.
"We'll help out with any information and tests you guys need." Dakota smiled at Annabeth.
"Yeah, we're all family after all." Hazel said warmly. All the younger gods grinned and Hestia was smiling happily. All the Olympians looked at each other, thinking about just how even Greeks and Romans were getting along after such brutal wars and all they had to do was get along with their own family.
Annabeth suspected so, though she'd…graduate from high school
All the Olympians in the room flinched and the younger gods grimaced, their thoughts flashing back to the first war. Though they'd changed the outcome during the reading, it didn't feel real to them. It felt akin to a dream. To them, it was the first war that was real. The changing of the outcome was simply a way for them to feel better.
The Olympians knew that their children had difficult lives. Heck, they had some of the most difficult lives and that had begun to sink in much more during the reading. It had begun to hurt them that most of their children didn't make it till their mid-teens let alone touch 18. This just made them all the more glad to have these children of theirs at Olympus and having the security and relief that they were now gods and that a few of their children back at camp had also been turned immortal. One of the main reasons that they had stopped interacting with their children was that they would die and they didn't want to feel the pain of that but them, out of all people, should have known that that wasn't the end.
Poseidon squeezed Percy's shoulder to reassure himself of his son's presence and the fact that that he was about to turn 18 soon. He had made it all the way there without any sort of immortality especially after denying it once. Poseidon had known that 18 was a huge thing for a demigod and he couldn't have felt prouder of Percy but now he realized just how much of a huge thing it was especially after considering just how many of the Olympians present here had lost their children before they could even think about 18.
Hermes held on to The Stolls and Chris and closed his eyes as he tried to calm himself and tell himself that they were all right. He had not only lost people in his life before they had hit their mid-teens but he'd even lost somebody who was immortal. He'd lost Pan. And he'd lost Luke. And he'd lost them both twice. He knew that now he'd fight the world if it meant making sure that these three were all right.
"Do you have the list of the campers who-" Hermes said to Dionysus, swallowed and continued. "-who died during the wars?" he asked his brother. The god of wine looked unnaturally serious but even he knew the pain seeing as Castor had died and later so had Dakota. This time that he was getting was no less than a blessing to him.
"Do you want to know? Think about it. I say this as somebody who knows." Dionysus said. Hermes nodded.
"I did. I want to know." Hermes told him, his voice stronger now. Dionysus nodded.
"I'll give it to you."
Grover shook his head as the impact of everybody's emotions were hitting him like a tidal wave. He thought it better to continue reading before it became too overwhelming for him and everybody else.
They either stayed on as counselors…monumental arches, and terraced villas.
Athena did not look happy about the fact that anything about the Romans' camp was good and even less happy that she knew that their architecture was amazing. She, however, looked the least happy about the fact that this group of Romans did not seem so bad and had a healthy amount of respect for her despite being Romans.
In front of her, the demigods…she looked in a mirror.
Percy's face contorted into a poker face as he looked at Reyna and gave her a small nod, letting her know that he knew what that felt like. There were times when you had to be strong for somebody else and he knew the strength that it took the do that. Annabeth gave Reyna a small smile and squeezed Percy's hand as well. Reyna gave the couple grateful looks.
Jason and Thalia grimaced as well. They too, knew just how it felt to keep your uncertainties to yourself and not letting them show on your face in public because that's what was expected of them. They were children of the king of gods and they were expected to be confident every time they met somebody or every time somebody asked them for advice. It was one of the reasons that Thalia had not wanted to be the prophecy child. Like they said, expectations suck.
Zeus, Poseidon and Hades also grimaced. They knew how that felt and they couldn't tell anybody that they did. They were kings, weren't they? They had to be confident and they had to make tough decisions and sometimes that changed the way they were. And at one point they had to either stop caring about what people thought of them or pretend the same. They knew how that hurt and quite frankly, they didn't want their kids to go through the same. But their kids already went through a lot.
The two girls considered each…eventually had become endearing.
Percy gave her the same smile as described and Annabeth blushed. She then glared at him without any heat. She pointed at him and said-
"Mine."
Percy laughed lightly. "Yours." He said and kissed her hand. All the campers and of course, Aphrodite aww'ed. Some of them were dramatic while some were genuine.
His sea-green eyes…leaner and more muscular.
Percy was grinning so wide that it was surprising that it was surprising that his face was still intact. Annabeth was turning red by the minute and her friends were not making matters easier.
"She is in loveee." Thalia whistled and Grover joined in.
"Yes! Come on, lets make it a song!" her seaweed brain joined in. Oh, they were going to have a talk about this.
"This was genuinely just as fun to watch. I mean it was like a scene from some Rom-com movie. Pure silence and both of them staring into each other's eyes and checking each other out as if 30 years had passed since they first fell in love as kids." Frank said. Everybody looked at him in amusement with raised eyebrows. Frank turned red.
"Hey! I like rom-com movies. At least they're not depressing." He defended. Everybody then shrugged and nodded, seeing as Frank had a point.
"It did feel like 30 years." Percy said with a small smile to Annabeth who nodded and glared at Hera who glared back but on Annabeth's persistent glare, she backed off and swallowed.
Annabeth was too stunned…since they were twelve years old
And that's when the Greek campers went crazy with the hooting and whistling.
"One of them finally admits it!" Clarisse shouted, throwing her hands up in the air. Annabeth had turned redder than a tomato. Percy's mouth dropped open as he stared at her with joy in his eyes.
"You should have told him then itself. I didn't even need an empathy link to know that he was crushing on you." Grover snickered. Percy pouted at him and Annabeth smirked at Percy. Grover put his palms up in a surrender gesture. "It really hit me during the empathy link. I had to learn to block it all out." He grinned.
"I'm not talking to you." Percy grumbled and Grover grinned at him and winked at Annabeth.
"I still enjoyed those 4 years though." She said. Percy then smiled and nodded. Everybody else just looked at the couple and chuckled at their banter.
"We all love Grover for exposing Percy." Travis snorted. Everybody laughed.
"I mean everybody knew. Like every single person at camp. Even the new ones. I'm pretty sure most of the counselors were also betting on you too. I mean they all had quite a lot of drachma the day you guys got together." Chris winked at Percy. "I knew before I left and I was surprised that you still weren't together when I came back." He snickered. Annabeth and Percy looked at each other sheepishly.
"Some of those bets were for surviving the war and some of them were for these two. Most of them were for these two." Nico said. All the Greek campers snickered.
"Bro didn't even realize it when the literal goddess of love looked like Annabeth." Jason laughed.
"Oblivious idiots." Thalia snorted.
"Thanks guys. We love you too." Percabeth said.
"As much as this is hilarious-" Hades said and looked at Annabeth and Percy in amusement. "-I do have one question." He continued. "How many people bet on surviving the war?" he asked, worry shining in his eyes.
"Hmm, about 12. But everybody was betting on these two." Travis said. The gods gave small sighs of relief. Though, they didn't like that even 12 had to bet on their own survival but they were relieved that that 12 wasn't the whole camp.
Last summer, she'd fallen for him hard.
Percy sighed with a smile.
"I already fell for you the minute you told me that I drool when I sleep." He said. Annabeth turned red and tossed a cushion at him.
"I think you fell harder during a spar." She said. Percy grinned at her then.
"Oh definitely." He said, inviting another cushion.
"And then he wonders why we call him 'lover boy'." Nico narrated. This time, two cushions hit him.
They'd been a happy…then he'd disappeared.
Everybody glared at Hera.
"As if they hadn't been through enough already." Rachel muttered.
"We've never been through enough." Piper said nonchalantly, making some of the gods wince.
During their separation…or being with him again.
This time, everybody was quiet but they all glared at Hera. Even Athena and Poseidon.
"I'm sorry I ruined your junior year, wise girl." Percy said softly. Annabeth looked at him with wide eyes.
"You don't have anything to be sorry about, seaweed brain. It wasn't your fault. Its not like you got up one fine day and decided that I'm going to get amnesia and disappear." She chided.
"Then I'm sorry that I left you. I know that that it wasn't intentional but this sorry is for both of us. I'm sorry that we lost that time and also that I left you alone. I didn't want to be one of those people." He said. Annabeth just hugged him tightly.
"None of that was your fault. It was especially not your fault that we all were not done being pawns." She said and then glared at Hera and so did Percy. All the gods flinched at the 'pawns' part because if they were being honest, that's what they'd used the demigods as. That's right. They'd used them. Even after the previous war and even after they'd made a promise to Percy. They'd still found a loophole and not a good one at that. Every time something like this struck them, they understood more and more why their own children had chosen to fight with the titans.
Athena sighed as she looked at the love for Jackson in Annabeth's eyes. She knew that her daughter was serious about the son of Poseidon and though she didn't understand romantic love but she understood that she could not be the one to hurt her daughter and pull her away from Percy Jackson. Her daughter had already gone through enough pain when it concerned relationships. This didn't have to be another mark on the same board.
The praetor Reyna straightened…was a dangerous thing
Jason and Reyna looked only slightly awkward. They'd gotten over all of that and just smiled at each other. They both knew that they were better as friends. Everybody looked more interested in what reaction Piper would have but the daughter of Aphrodite looked absolutely unbothered.
"What?" she said and then chuckled. "We both have had our shares of relationships. He knows my ex and I know his. Present and former partners aren't always at bad terms." She said and then winked at Reyna who gave her a thumbs up and grinned.
"And I'm screwed." Jason said dramatically and they all laughed at how true that actually was.
"I welcome you home…Annabeth wouldn't have cared
The hall was filled with wolf whistles from both the camps. Even some of the younger Olympians namely Apollo and Hermes had also joined in the hooting. Aphrodite was clapping her hands happily and cheering the couple she called her 'OTP'.
"I can't believe we missed this. Would've thrown them into the canoe lake again." Connor laughed.
"That a tradition too?" Dakota asked curiously. Percy nodded.
"Yeah. Every time a couple gets together and every time something…like this bullshit happens." He said. The Greek campers snickered.
"Well, we can always have a replay." Annabeth smirked and Percy's eyes widened and he had only a second before Annabeth kissed him and the cheers were so loud that the citizens of Olympus probably thought there was some party going on. This time around, the cheers were by the campers, Apollo, Hermes and the whole sea gang while a few of them just chuckled and clapped.
"All right guys. Lets not get too carried away yet. Both of you are still minors." Grover teased and everybody burst out laughing while Athena glared at the god of the wild. Percy and Annabeth high fived and entangled their fingers.
Percy smelled of ocean air. His lips were salty
There were a few groans at that.
"I did not want to know that!" Triton complained. Annabeth smirked at her most probably future brother in law.
"TMI indeed." Thalia wrinkled her nose.
"Revenge." Annabeth whispered theatrically to her.
Seaweed Brain, she thought…"Hold! Stand down!"
All the Greek campers burst out laughing at the throwback that they all got. Most of the Olympians, however, looked confused yet amused. Poseidon grimaced as he felt the impact of being judo flipped. He wasn't really used to that.
"Thank you for telling them that I wasn't planning on hurting Percy." Annabeth said sheepishly to Reyna who chuckled.
"I recognize such different forms of expressing love." She teased and Annabeth grinned sheepishly.
"That was unexpected yet I wasn't surprised." Percy laughed.
"I love how it's a throwback to that one time during training when Annabeth had judo flipped Percy and Percy just went 'you're beautiful'." Katie chuckled.
"Like that meme?" Hermes asked. Katie nodded and Hermes laughed lightly.
Annabeth put her knee on…the nerve to laugh
Poseidon ooh'ed. "Dam, son." He said and Percy snickered.
"He's got guts." Travis nodded. Katie smirked at him.
"I'm not leaving you again." Percy told Annabeth who smiled at him, her smile slightly watery.
Suddenly the lump of heated…managed to restrain herself.
"Oh thank the gods." Nico said dramatically. Percy, equally dramatically, flipped him off.
Jason cleared his throat… It's good to be back."
"The awkward pause." Connor snickered.
"I don't know how I was supposed to start a conversation after that." Jason defended and Percy and Annabeth grinned sheepishly at him.
He introduced Reyna to Piper…cuddly-panda-bear way
Frank blushed. "Thanks." He said to Annabeth who chuckled nervously.
"Its adorable." Hazel said to him and Frank smiled happily.
The girl was younger…Percy and this girl…no.
"Whoaa noo." Percy said, holding his palms up and Hazel shook her head vigorously.
"I'd never cheat on you." Percy assured Annabeth.
"Yeah, that's one thing he didn't inherit." Nico snorted. Everybody's gazes snapped to him and a few of the peoples' mouths hung open while the younger Olympians burst out laughing. Amphitrite's eyebrows shot up to her hairline but eventually she nodded in agreement. Hades looked impressed and surprised and eventually burst out laughing. Poseidon looked at his nephew in surprise and unable to say anything. Nico gave him a small, nervous smile.
"Nah, you're right. Its something I hope I'll learn from him." The sea god said finally. Percy exhaled in relief. He looked at Nico in surprise and then shook his head, amusement written on his face.
"That took guts, man. I think I'm a bad influence on you." He said. Nico nodded, making Percy laugh.
"I'd never cheat on you either, seaweed brain. I love you." Annabeth said. Aphrodite squealed. Percy smiled warmly.
"I love you too." He said.
"And anyways, the whole Hazel thing would have been incest." He added. Annabeth laughed.
"We're the children of greek gods." Thalia reminded her cousin.
"We may be their children but we don't have the same boundaries. Which means that we have boundaries." Percy snorted.
"They are destroying us, man." Apollo laughed.
"One roast after another." Ares shook his head.
"Their careers just ended." Hermes laughed, gesturing to the big three. Their kids smirked.
The chemistry between the three…the memory was painful
"Okay, that's freakily insane." Leo stated. Nobody disagreed.
Meanwhile, Reyna was giving…"Go burn your bears, Octavian."
Everybody snickered, especially the Romans. The Greeks mainly looked proud of Percy.
"I have a feeling Percy's going to be slapping Octavian with words more than once." Travis mused.
"Indeed, brother. Persassy hit one." Connor grinned.
Jason and Percy looked at each other and laughed, remembering what was going to up soon enough.
Reyna looked like she…while they still could.
"Ohh no. Enough of kidnapping for me." Percy said.
She couldn't shake the feeling…can have a proper reunion."
Reyna sighed and then smiled at Artemis. The goddess of the hunt returned the smile and gave her an encouraging nod.
"Chapter's done." Grover announced.
"I'll read." Rachel volunteered.
