Zor continued to scurry as he exits through the attic entrance. Thankfully, the door was opened a little for him. He did remember that his mistress told him to the Tremaines as the second floor. Which he is, but the question is... which room will they be at. Suddenly, he heard voices. The Bearded Dragon scurried off to where it was coming from and heard them behind the door.
It was opened a little and Zor squeezed through the crack of the entrance and saw the stepsisters throwing dresses at Cinderella and saw Lucifer, asleep on the footstool. He knew this was the room and quickly went in, but scurried towards a table and hid in the shadows as he watched.
"And this too, Cinderella, my slippers. Don't forget..." "Cinderella, take my dress! Here, mend the buttonholes." "Press my skirt, too, and mind the ruffle. You're always..."
Cinderella held onto the clothes that her stepsisters kept on throwing to her. There were so many dresses and shoes she could held onto until she heard her stepmother's voice.
"And Cinderella..."
"Yes?" the girl asked as she looked at her.
"When you're through, and before you begin your regular chores, I have a few littIe things."
"Very well."
Zor listened to her sigh and watched the poor girl leave the room with clothes in her arms, but then turned to face the stepfamily as the stepsisters start complaining.
"Mother I don't see why everybody else seems to have such nice things to wear... and I always end up in these old rags. This sash! Why, I wouldn't be seen dead in it!" said Anastasia as she threw the pink sash down.
"You should talk! These beads! I'm sick of looking at them! Trash!" said Drizella as she threw the beads down to the ground and kicked them away.
Zor shook his head at the girls, always complain about fashion. He remembers watching some of the movies with his mistress and there were a lot of girls fighting and complaining over article of clothes. As he watched the leave, Zor heard some sounds and turned to see some familiar mice coming out of the hiding hole. It was Jaq and Gus. Now his job has begun as watched them.
"Come on. Now, be carefee." Jaq whispered to Gus.
"Duh, uh, yes. Be real carefee."
They quickly tiptoed through the hallway to gather the items, but they didn't know that Lucifer was still on the footstool, sleeping. Zor kept close eye on the cat and hopefully the devil won't wake up. He then turned to look at the mice as they reached to the pile of clothes.
"We can use that, Gus-Gus!" Jaq chuckled as he snatched the pink sash in his small hands.
"Uh... pretty-pretty pretty-pretty..." Gus chuckled until his mouth was covered up the sash with Jaq's hands.
The leading mouse shushed him as he spotted Lucifer.
"Shhh! Look-it! R-ucifee!" he pointed at the sleeping cat.
Zor stood his ground as he felt like he was ready to fight. He watched the mice walk in with the pink sash and goes under the footstool. But Zor now notices that the cat's eyes are starting to open and spotted the sash moving. Looking underneath the footstool, he saw the sash rolling away. Shock and confused, Lucifer watched the sash kept on rolling but as it bumped into the wall, Jaq and Gus accidently revealed himself.
Lucifer let out a growl and leapt off the stool. The mice panicked and quickly grabbed the sash as they went into the hole. Zor quickly got out from his hiding spot and scurried towards the cat, but as the cat made a big leap, his nose got stuck in the hole now the mice disappeared along with the sash. Zor stopped and started hiding under the footstool.
Watching Lucifer as he got his nose out of the hole, the cat starts staring at it. Waiting for them to come out until he, along with Zor, heard a creaking sound. The two turned their heads to a different direction and saw another hole opened to where Jaq and Gus are at now. The leading mouse looked around and spotted something. He points at something for Gus to see and the plump mouse looked to see the beaded necklace that Drizella threw away.
"Oh, beads! What a very pretty beads!" Gus chuckled until Jaq shushed him.
The leading mouse and Zor looked at the cat as the look on his face, knew exactly what the mice needed. He quickly rushes towards the beaded necklace and sat on them. The Bearded Dragon growled in silent way as he and the mice knew that was going to be a problem. Suddenly, Jaq thought of an idea and whispered to Gus's ear.
Zor looked at them, wondering what they were up to until Jaq got out of the hole. Lucifer looked to see the leading mouse coming out of the hole. He got his claws out as he was ready to catch Jaq but saw that mouse snuck past him and was undoing the buttons while he was humming. Lucifer sneaks up to Jaq as he was continued to hum, but then turned around to see Gus coming out.
Knowing that he was trying to get the beads, the cat sat back down on the necklace and Gus went back into the hole. Zor growled a little and felt like he wanted to spit fire at that cat but continue to watch Jaq taking the buttons out. But to the cat's smart thinking, he starts scooting up towards the mouse with the beads. Both Zor and Gus looked shocked to what the cat was doing, and they didn't have the time to signal Jaq to move.
The leading mouse did notice Lucifer coming towards him and with the last button took out and before the cat start making his strike, Jaq flicked the button up and hit Lucifer's nose. Zor gurgled silently as a laugh until the cat let out a meow and starts pouncing to the pile of clothes where Jaq was. That worries the Bearded Dragon but knowing how smart and clever the mouse is.
He turned around to see Gus out of the hole and quickly ran towards the necklace. Knowing how big the beads are, the plump mouse gathered as much he could to hold before he makes run for it. Zor turned back to see Lucifer out of the pile of clothes, but he was still looking for Jaq but what the Bearded Dragon noticed was that the leading mouse was on top of the cat's head.
Zor then turned to see Gus; he was running with the beads until he starts slipping towards the wall. The Bearded Dragon along with Jaq started to panic as they watch Gus, but as the plump mouse hits the wall, all the beads scattered around him. Lucifer looked up as he heard the sound, but Jaq quickly closed the cat's eyelids. Now the cat knows where his prey his, he starts chasing him in the pile of clothes again. Zor looked back to see Gus as he was trying to gather the beads.
Now the Bearded Dragon is pretty sure his friend needs help. He quickly scurried down towards him and used his tail to scoot the beads towards Gus. The plump mouse looked at him for a moment. Wasn't so sure if he was scared or surprised to see him but all he knew was that the Bearded Dragon was helping gathered the beads for him. Jaq finally escaped from the cat through the sleeve from a nightgown and ran towards Gus and Zor.
But what the mice didn't know except Zor now have notice was that Lucifer, now had his head stuck in the sleeve, was crawling towards them. While Jaq and Gus gathered the beads as they could with hats and tails, Zor stood in front of his friends and growled at the cat. The cat smirked thinking what the lizard's gonna do. Finally, as the mice gathered the beads, Lucifer was close to Gus and tried to bite him, but something felt hot that came to his mouth.
A small fireball hit his tongue. The cat looked at the Bearded Dragon and to his shock, he saw the scales lighting up like fire. Luckily, the mice didn't notice it as they got away and cat didn't pay attention to them, he looked at the lizard with a frightful look. Zor growled at the cat, but had a smirk on his face, and then let out a loud growl. Lucifer let out a screaming meow and tries to get out of the sleeve, but quickly crawled away. Zor let out a small squeaky laugh and scurried away to the door.
A moment ago, Madison was out of the kitchen was not being spotted. But also knew the ladies be busy with getting ready. Checking to make sure no one was at the halls, Madison quickly, but with grace, gone up the stairs and walked down the hall to her room until...
"Lady Madison!" voices shout with excitement that cause Madison to jump a little.
She turned around to see Anastasia and Drizella running towards her.
"Lady Madison, have you heard the news?" Drizella spoke.
"The King is throwing a ball for every eligible maiden to attend." said Anastasia.
"I've heard." Madison spoke to them. "Aren't you two getting ready?"
"We are. But aren't you?" Anastasia asked.
"I'm afraid not."
"What?!" the girls exclaimed.
"But why?" Drizella questioned.
"Well, for one I've arrived here yesterday and two, I don't have anything eligible to wear. So... I'm not going."
"It's her decision." another voice spoke.
The girls looked up to see Lady Tremaine coming by as she was listening to the conversation.
"Lady Madison is right that she did arrive here, and the ball tonight is unexpected. I would say we respect her wish and perhaps keep an eye on Cinderella."
"Keep an eye, madam?" Madison questioned.
"You see, Cinderella did want to go to the ball, but she has... so many chores that she has to do. We're not entirely sure if she is willing to go with us or not."
Madison looked at the woman. She always knew she was tricking that poor girl into staying that chateau and not go to the ball. All because the stepfamily are jealous of Cinderella's charm and beauty. Madison couldn't talk back to the stepmother otherwise; things will get ugly.
"Very well. I'll keep an eye on her." Madison spoke to her as she acted with agreement.
Lady Tremaine nods her head as an approval and then looked at her daughters.
"Come girls, you still need to get ready. You need more blush, Anastasia. Drizella, more curls."
Madison watched the Tremaines walked away and entered to a different room. She sighed with relief and starts walking away until she entered her room. Peace and silence is what she needed. No loud noises from the stepsisters or anything. She walked slowly to the window and looked at the view of the sky. Seeing that it was getting close to dark and let out a sigh. It would be nice to go to the ball, but she didn't have anything to wear and also... who will she dance with?
Suddenly, she heard a chirp sound that was behind her. Madison turned around to see Zor with a proud smile on his face. She smiled as she kneeled down and let her Bearded Dragon crawled to her hand.
"I see that everything went fine. Are the mice safe?" she asked her friend.
Zor replied with a nod as he was still smiling.
"And from your expression, you look like you took care of the devil cat very well. Everything wasn't too burnt was it?" she asked and Zor shook his head. "Good."
Madison gently placed her friend on her shoulder and continued to look at the sky.
"Tonight... this will be a magical night that Cinderella will have."
