" Let me get this straight... Damon wants to free out his ex girlfriend from like hundred and forty five years ago? From a tomb that's under the old Fell church?" Caroline asked as she was trying to make sense out of all this. Caroline arrived at school an hour early to meet up with Stefan this morning, so he can tell Caroline about his conversation with Damon last night.
" Yeah, and Damon seems to think Bonnie's crystal might be the key to get Katherine out." Stefan answered as he shrugs his shoulders a little.
Caroline snorts as she shook her head." That's ridiculous. I mean there's no way Bonnie has a key to free Katherine."
" Actually it makes a lot of sense."
"What do you mean?"
Stefan exhales deeply. "The reason Bonnie's crystal is the key to freeing Katherine is because she's a witch."
Caroline brought her eyebrows together as she shook her head in confusion."What are you talking about?"
" Bonnie comes from a long of Bennett witches, back in 1864 I knew Emily Bennett, she was friends with Katherine well technically she was Katherine's witch. She even... she even made mine and Damon's daylight rings." Stefan said with a chuckle.
I" can't believe one of my best friends is a witch and she never told me. I mean, does she not trust me?" Caroline asked, sighing exasperatedly as she still couldn't believe Bonnie was actually a witch and she had no idea.
" You're keeping a secret from her too." Stefan said reminding Caroline about his secret that she's keeping from their friends and everyone else in this town.
Caroline sighed softly as she nodded her head."Yeah, I know," she whispered. "And trust me, not being able to tell my best friends that my boyfriend is a vampire is hard, especially when one of them has fallen in love with your brother." She said, rolling her eyes with annoyance.
Stefan asked, "Elena is in love with Damon?" as he drew his eyebrows together.
" In not so many words, But Elena said they have been spending a lot of time together and she thinks things between them are getting serious." Caroline sighs as she leans back against her locker." What do I do about Bonnie? Should I confront her about it?"
About Elena and Damon?" Stefan asked, not sure if they were still talking about Elena and his brother.
Caroline snorts as she shook her head." No about her being a witch. Should I confront her about it?"
" That's up to you." Stefan answered as he shrugs his shoulders a little.
" Do you think Bonnie knows about you?" Caroline asked softly.
" Probably, but she's still new to her powers though."
Caroline sighs a little." We gotta find a way to keep Damon away from Bonnie and Bonnie away from him. " She said as she noticed Students walking through the halls. She then noticed Bonnie and Elena walking towards them.
" We will, but let's talk about this later." Stefan whispered as he also noticed Bonnie and Elena walking towards them and he didn't want to keep having the conversation in front of them at least not yet anyway .
" Hey guys." Bonnie said as both her and Elena walked up to their lockers." What's going on?" She asked as she felt she had inturpt a very important conversation between Stefan and Caroline.
Caroline just shrugs her shoulders." Nothing really. Hey Bonnie are still coming with me to the Lockwoods after school today?" She asked changing the subject.
" For what?" Bonnie asked as she had no idea what Caroline was talking about.
" For the Ms. Mystic Falls Pageant. You said that you would come with me so I can sign up."Caroline said reminding Bonnie.
Bonnie sighs as she shook her head." Sorry Caroline, I had completely forgotten all about it. I sorta made plans with my Grams already. Sorry." She said as she shrugs her shoulders a little.
Caroline sighs exasperatedly as she rolled her eyes." Fine. What about you Elena? Are you still going to sign up for it?" Caroline asked as she looks over at Elena.
" I've decided that I'm not gonna enter." Elena said as she closed her locker after she got her book out.
"What?!" Caroline exclaimed as she couldn't believe what Elena was saying. "But you have to sign up! It's something that you've wanted since we were kids. Besides, if you don't enter, how am I supposed to compete with you?"
" I don't know what to tell you Caroline." Elena said as she shrugs her shoulders." I will see you guys later." She said as she walks towards her first class.
" What was that all about?" Caroline asked in confusion as she looks over at Bonnie.
" Ever since the accident things like the Ms. Mystic Falls Pageant doesn't seem to matter to Elena anymore." Bonnie answered as she shrugs her shoulders a little.
Shelia was enjoying her afternoon tea when she heard a knock. Setting her cup down, Shelia got up from the couch as she walked towards the door to answer it. As soon as Shelia opened the door her witch instinct started to kick in. But she didn't let it show." Yes?"
" Hi, there. I'm looking for Bonnie." Damon said politely.
" Bonnie's not here."
" Oh, do you know when she would be-"
" Never."Shelia said cutting him off as she glares at him.
" You have quite an opinion for someone who doesn't know me." Damon said as he smirks slightly.
And you have some nerve knocking on a Bennett witch's door and asking her for anything," Sheila said in a deadpan voice.
" What'd I do?" Damon asked as he was clearly very confused right now.
" Spirits talk Mr. Salvatore and so does my granddaughter. You're no friend to us. Now get off my porch." Shelia said as she steps back and gets ready to slam the door in his face.
" Step outside and say that." Damon said as he stepped up to Shelia.
With one look Shelia gives Damon a headache. She steps out as she watched him crumbling on the ground." I am not Bonnie. You don't want to mess with me." She warned him as she walked back into the house and shuts the door before locking it.
" Damn it." Damon groans in frustration as he got up and walks off the porch and gets back into his car. If Damon can't find Bonnie here. Maybe he can find Bonnie at Elena's. He needs to find a way to get that Crystal back and free Katherine.
Walking into the house after signing up for this year's Mrs. Mystic Falls Pageant, Caroline was very excited to be one of the contestants. She was still disappointed that Bonnie hadn't come with her and that Elena had totally backed out at the last minute. However, she wasn't going to let it ruin her moment. Walking into the kitchen, Caroline saw Liz standing over the stove. "Hey, mom," she said as she grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge before walking towards the kitchen table to sit down.
" Hey sweetie, how did it go at the Lockwoods?"
" It went very well, Mrs. Lockwood said she'll call us for our first interview in a few days." Caroline said as she took a drink of her bottle of water.
" Was there a lot of girls who signed up this year?"
" Just the ones from the founding families."
" What about Elena?"
Caroline sighs as she shook her head." Elena decided to back out at the last minute."
" Why would she back out? I thought Elena wanted to do the Ms. Mystic Falls Pageant this year?"
Caroline shrugs her shoulders as she shook her head." I have no clue, Bonnie said ever since Elena's parents died, nothing doesn't seem to matter to her anymore." When Elena quit cheerleading just after one practice, Caroline was little upset but she quickly got over it. But she was really hoping that Elena would sign up. But oh well, there's nothing she can do.
" Well, she could always enter next year."
Yeah, I guess," Caroline said as she took a sip of her water.
Elena and Bonnie were both hanging out in Elena's living room, watching a random reality show, when Elena received a text message from Damon asking if she had seen Bonnie today. Quickly sending a reply, Elena informed Damon that Bonnie was with her at her house. Setting the phone down, Elena returned to sitting on the couch, continuing to eat popcorn while watching TV.
" Was that Caroline?"
" Nope, that was Damon." Elena answered as she put a handful of popcorn in her mouth.
" What did Damon want?"
" He's looking for you for some reason."
"Why would he be looking for me?" Bonnie questioned as she couldn't understand why or what Damon wanted anything to do with her. They didn't get along for obvious reasons; she only tolerated him because of Elena, and that was it.
"I have no clue," Elena said as she looked down and noticed they were out of popcorn already. "I'm going to go and make us some popcorn." She said as she got up from the couch and grabbed the bowl. When she heard a knock at the door, she asked, "Can you see who's at the door?"
Bonnie rolled her eyes with a sigh and got up from the couch. She walked over to the door and answered it. When she saw Damon standing there, she looked at Elena for a moment before walking out and closing the door behind her.
" What do want Damon?" Bonnie asked as she crossed her arms across her chest.
" You know exactly what I want Bonnie. Why are you being so difficult?"
Bonnie snorted as she shook her head. "You're not getting the crystal back," she said. "Sorry."
" It's mine Bonnie and you know that."
" Hmmm, no it was my Ancestors' and now it's mine. Besides why would you even want a witch's crystal? I mean you really don't have a use for it. So tell me Damon, what's so important about it?"
Damon stepped closer, invading Bonnie's personal space."I know that it's a very powerful crystal," he said. "I also know that you're still new at this whole witchcraft thing, and that Emily Bennett has been trying to contact you ever since you placed the crystal around your neck. I also know you're scared."
" How do you know about her?"
" Doesn't matter." Damon said as he stepped back from Bonnie.
Bonnie scoffed as she shook her head again." So just because you knew Emily Bennett, you think that I would just hand the crystal over to you? Just like that?"
The next time you hear from Emily, let her know that I want to talk to her. See you around, Bonnie," Damon said as he turned around and walked back to his car. "Oh, and remind Elena that I'm picking her up later tonight." He said as he got into the car.
As Damon drove off, Bonnie clutched the crystal. Closing her eyes, she took deep breaths, attempting to calm herself down. Turning back around, she walked back into Elena's house and closed the door behind her.
Elena asked, "Who was that?" as she noticed Bonnie walk in ten minutes later.
Bonnie sighs as she walked back to the couch and sat down." Damon."
" What did he want? "
Bonnie rolled her eyes. "To remind you that he's picking you up later tonight," she said. Bonnie knew that Damon was a vampire; she had known it from the moment she shook his hand for the first time, and she wanted to tell Elena. But she wasn't sure how to tell her best friend that her new boyfriend was a vampire.
AN: I know it's been like forever since I updated. Honestly I didn't realize that it's been months since the last time I updated this story. Anyways here's a brand new chapter and yes Elena is going to find out about Damon's secret soon. Very soon. Hopefully I still got some reader lol. Leave reviews xD.
