On the eve of yet another uneventful day, so the time trickles past with unwanted memories of an everlasting summer. They who fear naught but the cries of the moon have yet to feel the stinging pain of loss, so profound is its manner.

At the moment where he stood at the line of trees outlining the meadow of closed daisies, his marred skin faint in the glow of the moon. He knows he may not rest now, but a moment of ever-fresh wind blows across his face, ruffling his curly viridian hair as if swaying along to a melody. Opening his eyes to look at the moment before action, he takes a deep breath, then bolts across the field with the hope he is not discovered. He can feel his heart sprinting behind his showing ribs, the shortness of breath getting heavier to handle. He glances behind himself to see if he is being pursued, yet unable to feel relief at the fact that he is not, for, at any moment, they may discover him. Continuing to run as fast as his weak legs can take him, it is at the moment that he reaches the other side of the meadow that he feels defeat slam into him.

The feeling of a hand grabbing his scruff stills his body, all fight and flight leaving him in an instant. A terrified whine leaves his lips, tears burn behind his eyes, gasping for breath as his scent turns sour. He knows he will now die, it's inevitable. How could he ever possibly think he could ever get away from his nightmare?

A gruff and unknown voice brings him out of his spiraling thoughts, close to his ear. "What are you doing in my land Omega? Where is your pack?"

The young Omega squeezes his eyes shut at the harsh tone, his limbs trembling. He can smell the aggressive scent of the Alpha holding his scruff, burnt sugar, and cloves, making him let off a panicky whine. Too scared to use his voice in fear of retribution, he shakes his head as a means of answer.

He feels the hand slowly start to let go of his scruff, the scent of the Alpha turning milder. A hand grips his shoulder firmly and turns him around to face the Alpha. The younger dares not to look up as it is considered a sin for an Omega to look into the eyes of an Alpha. "Lift your head little one."

Opening his eyes to look at the forest floor, he shakes his head once again. Another hand is brought to his face and he shuts his eyes tight and flinches away for the incoming hit, yet, it does not come. He can feel fingers grip his chin to gently pull his face up. Refusing to open his eyes in fear, unable to determine what will happen next. "Look at me Omega."

He hears a croon leave the Alpha's throat and shock forces his eyes open, only to stare in awe at the most beautiful crimson eyes he has ever seen. Taking in his facial features, he can see his wild hair of light blond, angular jaw, sharp light brows, and even lighter long eyelashes. "Tell me, for what reason are you running so frantically? Is there someone after you?"

The small Omega tries to nod, seeing as the fingers have yet to let go of him. Opening his mouth to ask for mercy, yet only able to let out a painful whimper as his neck is still badly bruised and his throat dry. The Alpha furrows his brows. "What has happened to you? Who has done this?"

He can feel the Alpha's eyes roaming over his face and neck, taking in the abused skin, his eyes lowering to take in further his condition. The Alpha growls at what comes into his vision and can see the bruises, cuts, welts, and scrapes where cloth does not cover. Can see the lack of nutrition causing the Omega's eyes to look gaunt, his ribs to show, and how his limbs stick through his skin in an uncomfortable manner. The younger one feels his face heat up in shame, he knows he is not a sight anyone would admire.

"My name is Katsuki Bakugou, of the Dragon Lands in this here western land. What is your name Omega?" He tries to answer the Alpha back, but once again he is reminded of the state of his throat, for when he opens his mouth, nothing but a painfully dry gasping sound leaves his lips. The fingers holding his chin retract and he shivers at the loss of that small point of warmth. In the next moment, he feels something touch his lips and he flinches. "It's water, drink some, it will help."

The Omega tentatively looks at the source, a waterskin holding a fair amount of water. He feels his hands grasp at it, bringing it to his lips once more. Drinking down hurriedly at the contents, gasping for breath between gulps. "Slow down, it won't run away. I don't want you choking."

After finishing the contents of the waterskin, he heaves for breath, feeling relief in his throat from the thirst. His hands tremble as they hold the bag, looking down. He can feel the tears running down his cheeks now, a combination of fear, gratitude, and relief. "Thank you." His voice croaks, the sound coming out scratchy and meek. "Izuku Midoriya. My name." He holds out his hands to return the water bag.

"Well Midoriya, I think I need to have our pack healer take a look at you. I do not know what you were running from or why, but know this. If you are a criminal, we will find out and you will be dealt with, however, if you are innocent, you will be safe and protected. Either which way, you will not get away from me, so follow along or I will drag you." The Alpha takes hold of the Omega's wrist and starts pulling him along, however, Izuku stumbles due to his legs being weak and shaking, causing him to collapse to his knees. "Well, this is going to be a bit more difficult." He gripped the Omega by the waist, causing the shorter one to squeak in surprise, and carried him in his arms as he made way towards his village. Izuku held onto Katsuki's neck tightly, his scent simmering with worry as to what is to happen next. He starts to feel drowsy from the adrenalin leaving his system and promptly passes out from exhaustion.

He awoke to the smells of lavender lingering in his nostrils, cautiously opening his eyes to take in his surroundings. He can see a wooden ceiling and as he glances around, he finds himself in a warm room. He is laying on a soft nest in the corner closest to the fireplace, the furs and cotton thread blankets being the softest things he has ever felt. To one side under the window sits a table with scrolls and candles, while the opposite side has an enormous bed covered in more furs and cotton tread blankets. He tentatively sits up, wincing at his sore muscles and bruises, the previously open wounds only stinging mildly. He looked down at himself and found that he was clean, something he hadn't been in a very long time, his wounds were wrapped and he donned a silk shirt with soft fleece pants that sat loosely on him. He hoped that he wouldn't get in trouble for using said items. He manages to pull himself to the edge of the bed as the door suddenly slams open, he yelps in fright and scrambles as far back into the nest as he can to hide under the furs.

"God damned barbarians! I swear if I get my hands on that fucker, I will tear him limb from limb!" The aggressive voice belongs to the Alpha that carried him here. He wines as his scent sours, unable to stop the tears from gathering in his eyes.

"Shit! I'm sorry!" He hears footsteps come closer to the nest and shivers with fear. "Listen, I didn't mean to frighten you. Will you please come out so I can see how you are fairing?" Izuku peaks an eye over the blanket to look at the Alpha. The look in his eyes showed remorse and worry. So far the Alpha had done nothing to hurt him and genuinely looked as though he regretted that he had frightened the Omega. He still feared what might come as he was still a deserter which is a crime punishable by death and hoped the Alpha wouldn't find out. He slowly pulled the blanket off himself and made his way on shaky limbs towards the Alpha.

"I'm s…sorry fo…for making yo…you help m…me." Izuku reached the edge of the nest once more and the Alpha made no move toward him further than that.

"Don't be sorry for that, it is my duty as an Alpha to protect others, especially Omegas." He sat down on the ground in front of the nest to show no means of aggression. "Would you be able to tell me what happened to you?"

Izuku shook his head. "I don't want to go back! Please! I will leave and never come to your territory again! I swear!" The tears streamed down his face, his body shaking harder than before.

"Shh, calm down Deku, I won't send you away anywhere, you'll be safe here, honor on my word as an Alpha." The Omega could suddenly smell calming pheromones wash over him, the burnt sugar and cloves stilling his shaking limbs, the tears coming to dry on his cheeks. He had never smelt calming pheromones before, it had always been harsh or aggressive. He felt before he heard himself start to purr, the action shocking him into silence. "Please look at me, I promise I won't hurt you. May I please check your wounds? They were very severe."

The Omega slumped forward on the nest, resting on the edge, giving silent permission for the Alpha to check him over. It's not like he had a choice, Omegas were never allowed to defy an Alpha or Beta, they would be punished. He felt warm hands softly hold his hand, carefully bringing up his arm for inspection, with nothing staining the bandaged meant that the bleeding had finally stopped. The cut on this arm was quite deep. "Can you tell me what caused it?" Izuku shook his head in response, he wasn't allowed to out another Alpha for such deeds.

The Alpha sighs. "I would better know how to treat you if you were to open up to me, but I understand if it may be difficult for you, but, I'll be here, so whenever you feel ready, I'll listen. Do you understand?" His head tilted slightly in question.

"Will I get punished if I don't say anything?" Fiddling with the hem of his shirt with his free hand, feeling nervous. He needed to know how severe the punishment would be, surely it would be better than being a deserter and defying his lead Alpha.

The blonde brows frowned. "Why do you think I would punish you?" He was looking at Izuku with genuine concern and confusion.

"Well… Omegas are not allowed to defy an Alpha or Beta. We may not speak against them or ignore an order." The Omega looked down between them, worrying his bottom lip between his teeth.

Katsuki firmly held Izuku's hand in his own. "I'm not sure what you were taught, but I doubt it's the same here. Sure, everyone needs to obey the Head Alpha or those of a higher station, but only if it's necessary, or to protect them. We don't order unless we absolutely have to. We prefer to ask, to which anyone has the right to decline the request." A sad sigh left his lips. "Did another Alpha do this to you for not obeying them?"

The Omega took a moment to think over the words the Alpha spoke. He wasn't sure he could trust what he said, maybe it was a ruse to get the truth out of him so that they could punish him. Yet, if he kept quiet, he fears that the Alpha would learn through a different means, and then the punishment would be worse. The truth always comes to light. Maybe he can plead they let him leave, maybe he can convince them that he will go back to his village and instead run away.

He hadn't noticed that his limbs started shaking again while tears streamed down his face. "Shh shh it's alright Omega, no one will get to you here. Whatever they did, I won't let them do it again, and if they do come looking for you, I will deal with them." At the words of him saying that they might come looking for him, Izuku started to panic, his breaths started to come in shorter gasps, his chest becoming tighter with fear, his vision swimming. He could no longer make sense of his surroundings, his vision turning from swimming to darkening.

Suddenly he feels pressure surrounding him and a scent of lulling calmness enveloped his senses. His breathing started becoming more steady, his limbs dropping in relief, his eyes dropping closed as he began to purr softly again. He kept himself like that for a while, never before had he experienced such warmth and safety. This was a completely new sensation for him, only knowing pain and cold. He felt himself slowly start to drift off, his breathing finally evening out.

"Deku…" The voice jolted him out of his peaceful lull. "You can't sleep now, I still need to check you over and you need to eat and drink something before your condition gets worse. I'm sorry for touching you without your consent, but it smelt like you were going into drop. I can assure you Omega, no one is going to hurt you here. You can trust me and I will prove it, you hear me?"

Izuku felt fingers touch his chin and gently pull his face up. He opened his eyes to gaze into sharp eyes, yet the look was soft. "You won't punish me?"

"I will not punish you for a stupid reason. We only punish if someone has done something morally wrong, if they themselves have hurt someone in one way or another." The blonde lifted his hand to stroke the Omegas hair. "I promise, if you haven't hurt someone, and that doesn't include hurting someone in self-defense, then you will not be punished. I swear on my life."

Izuku closed his eyes, taking in a deep breath of the Alphas scent, smelling the sincerity in his scent. He chirped softly. The Alpha even apologized for touching him, so he decided he couldn't keep quiet anymore and would answer as repayment, hoping that It wouldn't end in his death. "I deserted my village." He waited for the Alpha to get angry and punish him but all he got was a thumb stroking the back of his hand softly. He opened his eyes to gaze at the Alpha, his expression showing worry.

The Alpha sighed once more. "May I please sit next to you in your nest?" The Omega was shocked, not only had he asked if he may enter the nest but also implied that it was his own nest. No one had ever been so courteous with him, they always demanded and took as they pleased, never bothering to ask, it was as if they owned it and begrudgingly let you use it. He nodded, giving Katsuki permission. The Alpha stood slowly and sat down in the nest near, their legs almost touching. He once again took the Omega's small hands in his own much larger hands, rubbing them gently. Izuku looked at their hands, only now noticing how big the Alpha was compared to him, but it didn't seem to scare him.

"I know that the state you are in is due to abuse, I won't hide that I know that of you. Our healer Grandma Chiyo examined you while you were sleeping. She was the one to wash you, bandage you up, and dress you. She told me what your body had been through, so I am very inclined to think you are not a criminal." Katsuki took a deep breath before asking. "What happened that caused you to desert your village? What did they do to you? I need you to tell me so that I can make sure it never happens again."

Izuku thought that he couldn't cry anymore, yet the tears kept coming. He was sure he would shrivel and dry up at this point. However, his scent was wafting out a scent of relief. He could hardly believe that this Alpha was promising to protect him, in fact, he knew that he shouldn't, but he was so tired of always worrying about what someone would do to him, for once he just wanted to trust someone and feel safe.

The Omega started to tell him the tale of how he was ripped away from his mother's cold body when he was just a pup, the barbarians had raided his home village, taking nothing but valuables and pups, killing everyone else. How they had chained him up as a pup to be a slave, working him to the bone with barely any sustenance or sleep, let alone clothes to keep him warm during the winter months. How as he grew up, he was ridiculed and beaten for being an Omega, told how he was nothing because Omegas had weak genes and would never be able to bear strong pups like an Alpha could. Being grateful the only reason they wouldn't touch Omegas sexually, was because they couldn't risk an Omega getting pregnant and because they were thought to be filthy. They would kill an Omega for fun and no one knew who would be next, a constant presence of fear in their hearts. They would also get punished if their scents would bother the Alphas or Betas, and having to constantly cover their scent glands or hold them in would make them physically sick. Omegas weren't allowed to read or write and were constantly told never to speak. Were never given anything to help them through heats, only thrown into a sealed cell to ride it out in pain until it is finished. His story continued late into the evening, his voice drawing weak after so long speaking.

When he was done with his tale, there was silence, but when he smelled distressed pheromones coming from the Alpha, he looked up at him, shocked to notice tears falling down his beautiful face, causing his eyes to shine like rubies. He extracted one of his hands from the Alpha to cup his cheek, wiping the tears away with his thumb. "Why do you cry? Did I say something wrong?"

Katsuki took a shuddering breath in before replying. "I am so sorry. You should have never had to live through such a life. I wish I could have found you sooner." The Alpha's words caught his heart. This Alpha was crying for him. Distressed for him.

He chirped at the Alpha. "This is not your fault, none of this was your fault. You still found me though, I'm still alive. You said I'm safe now."

The Alpha nodded. "I will protect you." He sniffled and rubbed his face with his sleeve. "Thank you for telling me, I know it must have been difficult." He turned to stand up, gently pulling the Omega with him. "We need to get some food and water in you, we can talk further later. I still need to check over all your wounds, otherwise, Grandma Chiyo will kick my ass, and as small as that Omega is, it hurts like a bitch." Izuku giggled at the Alpha's words. It felt weird to laugh, he had barely ever done it before. He allowed the Alpha to feed him and check over the bandages. Feeling full and content for the first time since he was taken, he soon became drowsy and when they were done, Katsuki led him back to the nest and tucked him in, wishing him good dreams, and blissfully fell asleep.
