CH. 2

"You seem unhappy," Geto said, his voice tinged with amusement as he lounged on the bed beneath the sheets. His eyes remained fixed on you as you tied your long robe loosely over your bare body, an evident frown creasing your forehead. His chuckle broke the silence. "Why?" he added, a knowing smile playing on his lips.
His gaze continued to track your every move as you stubbornly refused to respond. You walked purposefully across the room, your focus on retrieving his monk robes that Roselyn, your diligent assistant, had left outside the bedroom door earlier that morning. It was her routine whenever Geto returned to the villa. During his stay, he dressed more casually in your presence, a silent agreement you both had.
Here was home. Out there was work.
You closed the door, nearly slamming it, after grabbing his robes, and taking them over to him. He remained shirtless, that infuriating smirk still in place. You chose to ignore it and swiftly laid out his clothes on the bed.
Geto continued to find enjoyment in your resistance and leaned closer. "Why?" he repeated, his voice a whisper in your ear.
Heat rippled through your body, but you held your ground, lifting a hand to his face and pushing him back. He fell onto the headboard, laughing and feeding off your frustration.
You bit your bottom lip, resisting the urge to react. Determined to hold yourself together, you finished laying out his clothes, your lips quivering uncontrollably. You grunted and clenched your jaw, shutting your eyes tightly, before abruptly turning on your heel and walking out onto the balcony.
Geto noticed your abrupt departure, still wearing that infuriating smirk. He calmly tossed the sheets aside, got out of bed, and grabbed his clothes.
The endless expanse of clear sea stretched before you, shimmering beautifully in the sunlight. The delicate sound of waves hitting the cliff beneath the villa usually brought you comfort. But today, you couldn't find any joy in it, your heart heavy with aching sadness.
Lost in your thoughts, you didn't notice Geto approaching from behind, his arms gently wrapping around your waist, pulling you securely against his chest. He lowered his lips close to your ear and asked again, "Why?"
This time, you responded, calmly masking your worry as best you could. "Do you have to go, Suguru?"
A smile played on Geto's lips, his keen ears picking up on the worry in your voice. "Yes."
You slumped a little in his hold, and he held you tighter, his lips moving to your collarbone, stopping just above the dark cigarette burn mark. For a moment, anger and disgust flashed in Geto's eyes before he focused on your voice.
"Take me with you, please," you pleaded softly, tears beginning to trickle down your cheeks. "My Domain, it can-"
He cut you off, his voice soft but firm. "No. You stay here."
Your heart dropped, disappointed but not surprised by his response.
"It'll be over quickly," he continued, his voice gentle and light. "Once I get the Queen of Curses, the world will be better. You know that. But I appreciate your worry."
"What about the others? The girls?"
"They'll be fine," he assured you. "They're looking forward to coming back to celebrate Christmas with you. Everyone."
Your heart swelled with joy, and more tears fell. "Ev-everyone?" you gasped, clasping a hand over your mouth. A smile spread across your face, and your whole body trembled with elation.
You rested your other hand on your midsection and felt Geto's hands there. Interlocking your fingers with one of his, you squeezed it. "Thank you," you whispered, trying hard not to choke on the rising tears.
Smiling to himself, he looked at you warmly before peppering your collarbone with velvet kisses, eliciting a soft moan from you. He continued, moving slowly up your neck, increasing your moaning until it was at the right sound, and he found your lips, partially parted and turned upward, eagerly waiting for him.
Using his free hand, Geto grabbed the belt of your robe and pulled you closer until you were pressed entirely against him. He leaned in, capturing your lips in a slow, deep, and passionate kiss. Your body exploded with desire, and he knew it, smirking victoriously.
"You'll come back?" you managed between breaths.
"Yes."
He deepened the kiss, a raspy moan escaping you.
"Fifteen minutes?" you asked, wrapping an arm around his neck.
He chuckled against your lips. "Fifteen minutes? We both know it wouldn't take fifteen minutes."
He was right, so you made another deal. "An extra week? Stay an extra week?"
"Okay."
"Promise?"
"Yes."
*2018 April (Present Day)*
But that promise didn't come. You opened your eyes, and your dream vanished.
You wished you could stay in that dream. You tentatively touched that spot on your collarbone, still feeling his kisses. Tears filled your eyes. How badly you wanted to shed them, but you resisted, grabbing hold of your seashell locket, and refocusing yourself on everything that lay ahead.
The overlapping voices of the other passengers on the plane quickly reminded you of where you were and where you were going.
Tokyo, Japan.
You estimated you were about two hours away from landing. Though you were excited to set foot back on old Earth, you couldn't forget your reason for returning. The mere thought caused you to crumple the acceptance letter from Principal Masamichi. Exhaling, you relaxed and smoothed out the creases on the letter.
You couldn't get too emotional; you needed to remain focused on your goal.
You were returning to Japan after ten years, back to Jujutsu Tech where it all began.
For a moment, you wondered if your family's sweets cafe was still open. You'd have to see. More importantly, you wondered about Gojo.
