Chapter 21: Chasing the Woman (Arukenimon Revealed)

Davis and Mimi are clearing out the Control Spires when suddenly they get an email from Arukenimon. It tells them that she wants to speak to them about her property that they have been destroying. It states how if they want to find her, they need to come a certain location. It's a deserted area near the Giga Forest, a forest where all the trees are oversized and a strange house that is many times larger than a normal house.

Davis is all for going after her, but Mimi holds him back. She states that this is most likely a trap and that they should probably contact the others. Davis relents, but before they could, he gets a message from TK, saying that they are going after the woman but not saying a location. With a message saying that they are on their way, Davis Spirit Evolves into JagerLoweemon, and they go to the meeting point. Along the way, Mimi asks why Davis is transporting them, when they could use Raidramon. Davis states that he is still working on controlling his Beast Spirit, so he's trying to get used to it. Calumon spends the entire ride squealing in joy.

They arrive at the meeting place without much issue. It's a deserted area that is filled with a lot of Control Spires. Standing in the middle of the clearing, surrounded by Control Spires, was the woman. Mimi quickly brings out her Digivice and scans her. It reveals her to be Arukenimon.

They stop in front of Arukenimon, but JagerLoweemon stands at the ready in case Arukenimon does anything. When Mimi asks what her plans are, Arukenimon chuckles before she grips her hair and throws dozens of hair strands at the Control Spires. Seeing that a fight is about to break out, Mimi quickly gathers her DNA Charge but she is only able to get enough to Digivolve Palmon into Lillymon before the Control Spire Digimon attacks. JagerLoweemon defends Mimi long enough for her to Digivolve Lillymon. While this is happening, Arukenimon escapes via a smoke cloud caused by a vehicle.

The Control Spire Digimon turns out to be a trio of Kyukimon who keep the four busy as well as kick up a lot of dust. They are extremely fast and aren't giving Mimi a chance to Spirit Evolve or Davis to Digivolve Veemon. Thankfully, Calumon is ignored, but he flies over to Veemon and the gem on his forehead glows as Veemon Digivolves into ExVeemon. With the help of ExVeemon drawing some attention, Mimi is able to Spirit Evolve into Kazemon and clears the dust and counters the wind attacks that the Kyukimon create.

It takes a bit of time, but eventually, ExVeemon and Kazemon are able to force the Kyukimon long enough for JagerLoweemon to destroy them. With the threat gone, they check their D-Tectors to find that the rest of the Digidestined are in the Giga House gathered in one place. Lillymon and Calumon are worn out from the fight, and Davis isn't much better. As a result, ExVeemon Digivolves to Paildramon and carries Davis, Mimi and Calumon (since Lillymon retreated to the Digivice to rest) to where the Digidestined are. They arrive just in time to see a car drive off into the distance and the other Digidestined leaving the house.

Chapter 22: Damon Corps Revealed

With the threat of Arukenimon and Mummymon, Davis and Mimi double down on destroying the remaining Control Spires at a far greater rate. They also made the hard decision to leave Calumon under the watchful eyes of the Elecmon and Wizardmon, since it would allow Calumon to play. However, they run into trouble as LadyDevimon and IceDevimon start to attack Digimon. Davis and Mimi wasted no time Digivolving Veemon and Palmon to Paildramon and Lillymon, before Spirit Evolving into Loweemon and Kazemon. They started to fight the duo while demanding why they are doing this.

Kazemon is not able to help out a lot against the two, but she can at least distract them. Loweemon is able to fight at an equal level as IceDevimon, while LadyDevimon is weaker than him. However, despite the numbers advantage, both sides are unable to gain the upper hand. It gets worse when they destroy a few of the Control Spires in the fighting. The duo of Darkness absorbed the data of the Control Spires and gained a power up.

Kazemon notices that she wouldn't be much help in this situation and reverts back to her human form. She Digivolves Lillymon into BanchoLillymon. With the addition of BanchoLillymon, they are able to beat the two back and put them in a position of defeat. However, a new Digimon showed up and defended them. He is able to easily defeat Loweemon and BanchoLillymon while Paildramon's attacks did nothing to him.

The Digimon introduces himself as Daemon, the leader of the Daemon Corps. He tells them that he is impressed with their powers, especially since while his two subjects haven't regained their true forms or powers, they are some of the strongest Ultimates. Interestingly, he doesn't recognize Loweemon as a Legendary Warrior, but instead just as a strong Digimon with a connection to Darkness. He mentioned how he looks forward to seeing how their strength grows. Daemon then leaves with his two followers.

Loweemon and BanchoLillymon collapse after he leaves, while Veemon and Mimi rush to their sides. They revert to their normal forms, but besides exhaustion, they are unharmed. After they compose themselves, Davis and Mimi contact the others, warning them about the Daemon Corps with the express instruction to run away if you meet them.

It is during that that the others told them about Arukenimon's newest plot. Apparently, she was so frustrated by her inability to eliminate them (and her quickly diminishing supply of Control Spires) that she decided to create a Mega level Digimon, BlackWarGreymon, who defeated them before leaving. They don't know what they are going to do, but they are worried now that there are three potential threats. When Davis asks if Ken knows about this, one of them speaks up and says that he was there with them when it happened.

Chapter 23: A Cyclone of Calamity

A few days later, Davis and Mimi are searching for any signs of BlackWarGreymon, Arukenimon while destroying any Control Spires that they have. It is at this point that they've destroyed about 50 percent of all the Control Spires. They are talking to some of the Scouting Party who tell them that they have spotted Mummymon and Arukenimon heading towards a Destiny Stone. Mimi and Davis head out to face them.

Upon finding them, they are surprised to find that the other Digidestined are already there fighting a trio of CS Knightmon, Arukinmon and Mummymon unsuccessfully. The only Ultimates they have are Silphymon and Dinobeemon, while Ankylomon is being used as a ping pong ball by one of them despite Pegasusmon's best efforts. It looks like the two Ultimates are unable to crack Knightmon's armor. They send in Paildramon and BanchoLillymon, and Davis Spirit Evolves into Loweemon to start fighting against the five of them. With the added firepower, they are able to beat back Arukimon and Mummymon and destroy two of the Knightmon.

Unfortunately, one of the attacks damaged the Destiny Stones, causing it to crack. Mummymon and Knightmon turn their attention back to the Destiny Stone, which allows BanchoLillymon to destroy the CS Knightmon, while Paildramon distracts Mummymon. They don't get to enjoy their victory for long as BlackWarGreymon suddenly blasts into the scene, and starts to destroy the Stone. BanchoLillymon intercepts him and begins to fight him. They are on about equal footing with BanchoLillymon being able to dodge or block (with her fuku) any of BlackWarGreymon's attacks, while BlackWarGreymon is able to tank any attacks that BLillymon throws at him. Meanwhile, Loweemon is focused on protecting the others from the stray attacks the two Digimon are making.

BlackWarGreymon notices this stalemate and cleverly guides the fight so their attacks begin to hit the Destiny Stone. By the time, Mimi is able to tell BLillymon, the Destiny Stone is one attack away from being destroyed. Mummymon provides the final attack to destroy the Stone since BLillymon caught on to what BWGreymon was doing. A massive tornado picked up, starting to pull them forward.

Mimi shouts that Davis and Paildramon need to get the others somewhere safe. BLillymon follows Davis' lead as they pull the others away from the tornado. Thankfully, Arukenimon, Mummymon and BWGreymon just watched. Mimi Spirit Evolves into Kazemon and dives into the tornado to try to get it under control. It is a tough job for Kazemon, but she steeled herself and was able to get to the eye of the storm. She was surprised to find a glowing orb creating the wind.

The moment Kazemon touched the orb, the tornado stopped and a Spirit floated in front of Kazemon. It entered her D-Coder and she Slide Evolves into Zephyrmon. With the 3 Ultimates, two Warriors, and a Mega who can stand up to BWGreymon, Mummymon and Arukenimon make a hasty retreat. BWGreymon merely leaves without saying much. It is as BWGreymon is leaving that Davis/Mimi finally gets a good scan of him. Unlike the other CS Digimon, BlackWarGreymon actually has a Fractal Code and is thus a real Digimon.

Chapter 24: Kyoto Vacation

Yolei is currently in Kyoto with her class. Mimi is technically joining her since due to some complications, Mimi can't join her Middle School for a few more weeks. They actually split from Yolei's friends when they see BWGreymon along with other Digimon in Kyoto, though they are strangely transparent, but not at the same time. It is while this is happening that they run into two Apemon who are attacking a group of actors. Thinking quickly, Mimi materializes Tanemon and they rush off after the Apemon.

Mimi knows that Togemon is too big for the city, so Tanemon Warp Digivolves all the way to Lillymon to the shock of Yolei. It takes them no time for Lillymon to trap the Apemon in her Flower Wreaths, but they are shocked when Ken and Stingmon suddenly come flying towards them. He drops off Poromon, before Stingmon takes the two Apemon with him. It is after this where they meet Joe's brother Shuu and Sora's dad who want to talk to them about Digimon. Suddenly, Lillymon reverts back to Tanemon, holding her stomach. The lack of food as well as the change in atmosphere made it so that Tanemon lost a lot of energy in the brief period of time she was an Ultimate.

Meanwhile, Davis (as Loweemon) and Paildramon are currently fighting BWGreymon trying to get him to stop his attacks on the Destiny Stones. BWGreymon refuses, stating that it is his purpose to destroy the Destiny Stones and drills past Loweemon to destroy the Destiny Stone. Space suddenly wraps around Davis and BWGreymon as they are pulled through the spacial rift. He is surprised to find himself in Kyoto as Loweemon with Paildramon nowhere in sight. and that he can't revert back to human and his D-Coder isn't working and his D-3 is missing. So he sticks to the shadows and begins looking for a way back.

In the Digital World, TK, Kari, and Cody are facing off with Arukenimon and Mummy with little success. Then Ken and Stingmon appear and help out with Stingmon Digivolving into Dinobeemon. Unfortunately, they escaped after a difficult battle. It is after this that the Digidestined finds Paildramon who is looking for Davis.

Sora's dad and Shuu bring up some interesting points on the nature of Digimon. Specifically the origins of Digimon as well as the four animals that guard Kyoto. When Mimi searches for any Digimon that match their description, she finds out about the four Sovereign Digimon who guard the four cardinal directions of the Digital World. This discovery brings up the topic of why Digimon are appearing in Kyoto. The others are unsure, but Mimi brings up the point that inside the Destiny Stones are most likely the Beast Spirits of the Legendary Warriors. After a few questions, Mimi briefly describes the Legendary Warriors and their existence as spirits. Sora's dad notes that this is similar to the African rituals where the participants wear a mask to become the figure the mask represents.

It is at this point that the group spots BWGreymon and several shadowed Digimon following him. They begin to chase after them when two of the Digimon break away from the group, a Musyamon and Asuramon. Mimi after analyzing the two immediately Spirit Evolves to Zephyramon and starts to fight them with Shurimon joining a little later. While this is happening, Yolei is setting up a Digital Gate from Sora's dad's computer. It doesn't take them long for them to throw the two rogue Digimon into the Digital Gate. They watch as the remaining Digimon disappear into thin air.

Not far away, Loweemon is chasing after BWGreymon and the Digimon behind him before he spots a shining light in one of the shrines near the center of the city. He sneaks in and finds a Spirit sitting in a room. He places his hand on it, and it reveals itself to be the Beast Spirit of Metal. His D-Coder suddenly beeps before the Spirit is absorbed into his D-Coder. The world around him started to distort before he suddenly found himself standing back in the Digital World as a human. He sees several Digimon nearby holding their heads before taking off when they see BWGreymon standing near them.

Paildramon finally finds Davis, sharing that Arukenimon and Mummymon fled. The two decide to leave to get something to eat (as being forced to stay as Loweemon made him work up a huge appetite), making a note to share what happened to Mimi.

Chapter 25: Two More Destiny Stones

Mimi gets to the third Destiny Stone just as BWGreymon destroys it. They are currently in a huge ruin. Once it gets destroyed, a massive sandstorm starts to pick up, and a silhouette of a Dragon appears in the sky. BLillymon overhears BWGreymon ask if this Digimon is who he is destined to fight before leaving. Mimi Spirit Evolves into Zephyrmon and is easily able to navigate to the sandstorm to find the Beast Spirit of Earth creating it. It is absorbed into the D-Coder, and the sandstorm stops. Mimi contacts Davis sharing that the Beast Spirits are what's powering the Destiny Stones, citing that it happening three times is a pattern.

A few days later, Davis and Veemon are heading to the next Destiny Stone that the Scouting Party found. Mimi is heading to the Koromon Village to check up on everyone, then Datamon to see if he has a way to locate the Destiny Stones. They are examining it to see if they could extract the Beast Spirit inside it. Unfortunately the other Digidestined (missing TK and Cody) and BWGreymon appear before they can do anything about it. Dinobeemon, Paildramon and Silphymon start fighting BWGreymon while Davis continues to examine it when Mummymon and Arukenimon interfere.

It is at this point that TK seems unreasonably angry, while a concerned Cody is following him. TK has Angemon fight BWGreymon, and almost immediately, BWGreymon backhands Angemon into the Destiny Stone. Davis hears TK mumble something about how the world will end if BWGreymon is allowed to roam free.

The Destiny Stone glows before Angemon suddenly Digivolves into MagnaAngemon. MagnaAngemon is still too weak to damage BWGreymon, but his Gate of Destiny bypasses his strength and begins to pull BWGreymon into it, though it is noticeably weak. Before BWGreymon is able to start to get pulled through, Davis Spirit Evolves and destroys the Destiny Stone, causing MAngemon to revert and the Gate of Destiny attack to stop. Light starts to pour from the ruins of the Destiny Stone, before Loweemon swipes his hand into it, stopping it. In his hands is the Beast Spirit of Light, before it goes into his D-Coder.

As the Light recedes, the same spectral Dragon appears in the sky. When TK demands to know what Davis is doing, Davis responds how he is not letting an innocent Digimon get hurt, shocking BWGreymon and those listening. BWGreymon was only created a few weeks ago, and in that time, he hasn't actually hurt anyone but those who tried to fight him. Him destroying the Destiny Stones isn't actually that bad.

TK turns to Davis, shouting about how destroying the Destiny Stones is destabilizing the Digital World. When Davis asks what he means, Cody explains how destroying the Destiny Stones is weakening the dimensional barriers between the Human World and the Digital World, using the Digimon appearing in Kyoto as evidence.

Davis quickly shuts that down by saying all the crazy events were just side effects of the Beast Spirits being released from the Destiny Stones. Since their powers are built up inside the D-Stones, destroying the stones causes the powers to be released wildly since they don't have a host to contain them. This calms Cody and the others, but TK still doesn't believe him. TK is distrustful of Davis since he freely embraces the Spirit of Darkness and is almost always using it. At this point, while TK is not listening, Davis brings up the very good point that the Dark Masters wanted to destroy both the Digital and the Human World, so why didn't they go after the Destiny Stones. Heck, why would the devices that protected the balance between worlds only exist out in the open inside the Digital World? There should be a couple in the Human World.

Unnoticed to both, the dragon starts to disappear from the sky. BWGreymon speaks how he is destined to fight this mysterious dragon before leaving, though he does express his thanks to Davis for helping him. Davis and Veemon leave shortly after, knowing that it is worthless to try to convince TK at this time, though Davis is relieved to hear Cody and the others are listening to what he has to say. They ultimately decide to continue to protect the Destiny Stones, but that is more due to the fact that its the only lead they have. Unknown to them, they are being watched.

Chapter 26: Daemon Corps Strikes Part 1

Once more, Davis and Veemon are looking at BWGreymon as he destroys another Destiny Stone overlooking a snowy wonderland, after the Digidestined failed to hide it. Mimi is looking for an underwater Destiny Stone in a different section. A blizzard picks up as the dragon appears once more. BWGreymon moves on now that the D-Stone is destroyed while the Digidestined run away from the blizzard. Davis moves towards the stone as BurningGreymon completely bypasses the blizzard, while Paildramon stands watch. As BurningGreymon enters the blizzard, he is completely obscured from view.

It doesn't take long for Davis to locate the Spirit, but before he could get it, a white figure flies out of the blizzard and grabs it. BurningGreymon flies after it as the blizzard begins to dissipate. Luckily, the figure flew towards Paildramon who punted it out of the sky. However, the figure holds tight to the Spirit. Paildramon identifies the figure as an IceDevimon causing BGreymon to remark its a good thing that TK wasn't there.

IceDevimon starts to laugh as he holds the Spirit close to his chest. He starts spouting on how they are going to go down, and how his position in the Daemon Corps is going to go up now that he has this Spirit before he slams it down into his chest. Fractal Code surrounds him as two axes appear in IceDevimon's hands, ice gauntlets appear around his hands. Paildramon and BurningGreymon go to fight the powered-up IceDevimon before they have to dodge out of the way from several ice blocks that rained down from the sky. They looked down to see a group of Icemon throwing attacks at the two.

Paildramon starts to occupy the Icemon while BurningGreymon starts to take on IceDevimon. Paildramon doesn't have any trouble taking out the Icemon, noting that they are hesitantly following IceDevimon so he makes sure to knock them out before tying them up with his Cable Catcher. BGreymon's natural elemental advantage against ice put him at an even power level as IceDevimon. Making it so that it is a fight about who gets the best hit first. However, IceDevimon gets a lucky hit in, and sends BGreymon crashing down into the ground with enough force to revert him to human.

Paildramon goes to block IceDevimon, but he gets beaten back. Davis meanwhile is cheering for Paildramon as he struggles to stand. Unfortunately, while Paildramon is fast enough to avoid a lot of the attacks, he is not strong enough to damage IceDevimon. Eventually, IceDevimon destroys the unconscious Icemon and further powers up. With new strength he manages to hit Paildramon down into the ground. Davis manages to hobble over to Paildramon while IceDevimon begins to gloat about how when he gets back to base he will get a huge promotion.

Paildramon manages to get up and begs for Davis to run. Davis refuses, pointing out how IceDevimon had no problem using his own comrades (ahem minions) to power up and defeat them. They need to take out IceDevimon or who knows what kind of havoc he will unleash. Davis' point is further made when a surviving Icemon begins to try to crawl away before IceDevimon swoops in, destroys it, and absorbs its data. Davis looks back over the battlefield and sees several partially destroyed Icemon with data slowly flowing into IceDevimon.

DNA Charge flows out of Davis as he screams at the sight. Paildramon tries to calm Davis down, but Davis is unresponsive. Paildramon has to move as IceDevimon begins to attack, but the DNA Charge flows into Paildramon letting him fight at an equal level.

Meanwhile, only seen by Davis, Davis is confronted by Duskmon who asks him if he wants power. Davis is understandably on edge seeing Duskmon, but Duskmon just continues to ask. Davis hesitantly responds yes, but he asks what's the catch. Duskmon replies that the way to true power is to embrace Duskmon and let him run wild. As he says this, shadows begin to converge on Davis causing negative emotions to start to become present in his mind.

The images of the deleted Digimon started appearing in front of him causing Davis to grow angrier. The whole time, Duskmon kept whispering how he needs to use his power. His whispering kept getting louder and louder before Fractal Code surrounds his hand. Before he could Spirit Evolve, Paildramon finally manages to pierce Davis' thoughts. He's telling him how he can feel the Darkness trying to control him, and how Davis will always regret it if he falls to Darkness again, especially after all Mimi did to save him.

Upon hearing Mimi's name, the shadows all suddenly retreated as he remembered all the great times that he's had with Mimi, Veemon and Palmon appeared before him. Along with them is a new resolve. The DNA Charge that was flowing out of Davis suddenly concentrates inside his body as it glows gold. He then performs a DNA Overdrive, Digivolving Paildramon into UlforceVeedramon (I know it doesn't follow the traditional path, but I don't care).

UlforceVeedramon is able to easily overpower IceDevimon and actually rips the Beast Spirit from the chest of IceDevimon. Fractal Code surrounds IceDevimon as he Digivolves into a damaged SkullSatamon. SkullSatamon fires a Nail Bone attack to disrupt UVeedramon's data before fleeing. It hits UlforceVeedramon, but it only affects it for a few seconds, but it is enough for it to make a large gap between them. UlforceVeedramon goes to chase after him, but Davis gets a message saying that Mimi needs help. UlforceVeedramon grabs Davis, and they head out to help their friends.

Chapter 27: Daemon Corps Strikes Part 2

Going back like 2 hours (or something like that), Mimi (as Ranamon) is currently examining the Destiny Stone that is located underwater. She has BLillymon looking over her outside of the water, so she only had to worry about attacks from underwater. She is surprised to see that Ikkakumon, MetalSeadramon and some Dolphmon were guarding the stone. After explaining what she's trying to do, Ikkakumon lets her. She placed her hand against the Destiny Stone, and it began to glow. She felt a rush of power, as she started to pull the Beast Spirit out of the D-Stone. Before she could complete it, all the water (and herself) was blown away.

Note: As Mimi began to pull the Beast Spirit from the Stone, the glow alerted BlackWarGreymon to its location. Since he is a Mega, he can travel at high speeds, so it only took him a few minutes to stop him. This puts the other Digimon on high alert and they send a Dolphmon to alert Tentomon about BWGreymon's arrival.

Unfortunately, Leafmon, Salamon, and Pururumon are too weak to fight, so it is up to Cody and TK to fight BWGreymon alone.

Outside the water, BLillymon was able to stop BWGreymon from straight up destroying the Stone by telling him that her partner was working to remove something from it. She states that she has no problem letting him do so afterwards, but he must wait for her partner to finish. BWGreymon actually considers this, and he is further stopped by Cody appearing to try and talk BWGreymon down.

Unfortunately, they are suddenly attacked by several tentacles coming from the ocean. BLillymon and BWGreymon are easily able to dodge, but Cody is thankfully able to be saved by the timely appearance of Angemon. BWGreymon is so infuriated that he doesn't realize that he was attacked and throws a Giga Destroyer at the water revealing the D-Stone and blowing Ranamon away from it. It also revealed that the attacker was a MarineDevimon. BWGreymon didn't care for that and immediately went to destroy the Destiny Stone. He is blocked by the timely arrival of a new Digimon, Shakkoumon (before anyone says anything, in the show, for no reason, TK and Cody can just DNA Digivolve despite not actually reaching some character driven moment).

Shakkoumon is able to defend against BWGreymon's attacks while BLillymon starts to focus on the MarineDevimon. Unfortunately, both sides are unable to do much damage to the other because Shakkoumon is not strong enough and MarineDevimon started to apply hit and run tactics using the water. While this is going on, Ranamon sent a quick message to Davis asking for help before she went back to trying to pull the Spirit out of the Stone. However, she had to abandon this as dozens of Gesomon start to attack her.

The Gesomon start to throw ink at BLillymon forcing her to move away from MarineDevimon or be blinded. Meanwhile, BWGreymon finally broke through Shakkoumon's defense, causing the Ultimate Digimon to revert to Tokomon and Upamon, and destroys the Destiny Stone, causing a massive torrent of water to exit through the area which blows away the Gesomon (and almost causes Ranamon to be blown away). TK and Cody grab their Digimon before booking it.

MarineDevimon manages to tank it and goes to grab the Spirit. Ranamon manages to grab it before MarineDevimon and quickly Slide Evolves into Calmaramon. With her new power, she is able to force MarineDevimon to the surface where BLillymon is waiting. It is at this time that Davis and UlforceVeedramon arrive with Davis Spirit Evolving into Kumamon and freezing the part of the ocean that MarineDevimon is before Slide Evolving into Korikakumon. Seeing that he can't fight against two Megas and two beast Spirits even with his army, MarineDevimon quickly flees.

The four wait for a few seconds before Korikakumon and UlforceVeedramon revert back to an exhausted Davis (who is bruised) and Chibomon. Calmaramon reverts back to Mimi who then Spirit Evolves to Zephyrmon and grabs Davis. BLillymon grabs Chibimon, and the four head over to the Koromon Village to get them treated by Cutemon. Meanwhile, TK and Cody leave to report what just happened to the others.

Chapter 28: A Nice Meal

Currently, Davis and Mimi are taking a break at Digitamamon's newest restaurant, enjoying some noodles. At this point, they've been searching for the last Destiny Stone (and BWGreymon) for a few hours and are running low on energy, but they can't seem to get a lead on where the Destiny Stone is. Or they would be relaxing, if Davis and Digitamamon didn't get into a cooking contest to see who could create the best noodles to the delight of Mimi, Veemon and Palmon. The smell of the food manages to attract the attention of Arukenimon and Mummymon who enter politely to the joy of Tapirmon (the waiter) and Digitamamon.

The two Digimon are on guard when they see Davis and Mimi, but the humans and their Digimon are quick to calm them down when they hear that they are here to get food without causing any trouble. They actually invite the Terrible Twosome to be judges in the cooking contest to the joy of Mummymon and the grudging thankfulness of Arukenimon. It isn't long before the food is finished cooking. Digitamamon presented his restaurant's signature dish, while Davis presented his dish of fuh, a Vietnamese soup made of noodles, broth, some vegetables and meat. It is a tie with Mimi, Veemon and Mummymon surprisingly voting for Davis, and Arukenimon, Palmon and Tapirmon voting for Digitamamon. Despite this result, both sides do end up completing a bowl each of both dishes.

With the pleasure of a good meal, Davis is able to ask a few questions such as why they are so focused on destroying the Destiny Stones. Mummymon absentmindedly answers that he really doesn't know, but it just feels like what they have to do, before Arukenimon silences him. She states that they are actually thinking about giving up, since they aren't actually making any progress to their goals and almost all the Control Spires have been destroyed. It is at this moment that the other Digidestined arrive. Arukenimon declares the truce is over, and they begin to fight the other Digimon. Or they would if everyone didn't revert back to weaker forms in the middle of the fight. Mummymon and Arukenimon use this opportunity to chase after Digitamamon, while the Digidestined get their bearings.

TK demands to know why they were not fighting Arukenimon and Mummymon. Davis responds that they had no reason to fight since they were eating, and they weren't willing to damage Digitamamon's restaurant when they could be eating. They actually weren't that bad, Palmon says. Davis and Mimi decide it is a good idea at this point to follow Digitamamon and Tapirmon to make sure they aren't hurt. TK wants to go after them, but Cody pulls him back, pointing out that their digimon need to eat. Veemon hears them right before they leave and says that there is a lot of leftovers from Davis' and Digitamamon's cooking contest to the delight of the Digimon. As they are leaving, Ken shows up, and he and Wormmon join the others in eating.

Note: TK is still on edge, despite all that has happened. He is convinced that Darkness=bad, and despite Cody and the other's best efforts, he really doesn't trust Davis right now.

Davis and Mimi don't have to look long since a large glow shows up in the sky. It's a Destiny Stone, and the two quickly perform a DNA Overdrive to Digivolve their partners to their respective Mega levels before rushing to it. They arrive in time to see the humorous scene of Mummymon flailing in the ocean as Arukenimon just laughs at his misfortune. At this moment, BWGreymon and the others appeared.

BWGreymon immediately throws Terra Destroyers at UlforceVeedramon and BanchoLillymon, stating how he will not let anyone interfere anymore when his opponent is so close. The two Mega levels instinctually avoid the attack, but it strikes at Mimi and Davis' feet causing them to be knocked back into the glowing Destiny Stone. They impact the Destiny Stone before falling into the noodle broth that the stone was hid in. Meanwhile, their Digimon partners are enraged at the attack and immediately begin to attack BWGreymon. It is the scene of BWGreymon fending off, only partially successfully, the double attack.

Note to self: UlforceVeedramon is actually stronger than BWGreymon by like three times so BLillymon actually sits it out halfway through the fight.

Eventually, UlforceVeedramon manages to put BWGreymon to the point where he is almost able to finish him off. Mummymon and Arukenimon go to destroy the Destiny Stone, but they are pulled away by Digitamamon and Tapirmon. Before he can, the soup broth bursts outward and two new Digimon (JetSilphymon and Rhihimon) fly into the air. Rhihimon shouts at UlforceVeemon to stop fighting BWGreymon, and UVeemon recognizes Davis and is so shocked by his new transformation (since it feels almost as strong as he is) that he lessens his grip enough for BWGreymon to slide out. JetSilphymon called out to Rhihimon and reminded him that they still had something to do.

Together, the two of them rested their hands on the D-Stone. The light of the stone started to glow much greater as the stone began to crack, before it shattered, releasing a giant beam of light into the air. When the light recedes, the Beast Spirit of Wood rests comfortably in JetSilphymon's hands as storm clouds start to form in the air. TK asks what the two did, but Rhihimon states that they freed the Digimon to the delight of BWGreymon. From the clouds, a massive blue dragon descended.

Chapter 29: Before the Raging Storm

Everyone just stared at the dragon as it lowered its head down towards the watching humans and dumbfounded Digimon. They hear it take a huge breath, putting them on guard, before it lets out a booming laugh, shouting about how he is finally free. BWGreymon gets the attention of the Digimon, shouting about how he is destined to fight it, causing the Digimon to rebuke him (and introducing himself as Azulongmon). Azulongmon then asks why BWGreymon feels the need to prove his existence.

He states that BWGreymon is a very powerful and very real Digimon (with every interaction actually freeing BWGreymon of the Control Spires that made up his body and turning it into a real Digimon's body) that has its own thoughts, opinions, and life with the only thing its lacking is knowledge. Azulongmon prompts BWGreymon to explore the Digital World, not for fights (he suggests fighting Davis and his group if he must) but to learn how to live. It is through this that BWGreymon will be able to make his own purpose for living. Upon hearing this, BWGreymon remembers the Agumon who offered to be his friend and leaves to find it, peacefully. Before he leaves, Azulongmon gives the final piece of advice that the circumstances of one's birth does not matter, it is how they live their life that does. Davis goes even further and says that he shouldn't be afraid to seek out either the Koromon Village or Wizardmon.

He goes on to explain how the Dark Masters sealed him specifically away using the Destiny Stones and the Beast Spirits of his predecessors. The Beast Spirits hold extreme amounts of power, but they weren't meant to act without a host with considerable will which the Dark Masters being made from Apocalymon lacked, so they created the Destiny Stones to seal him and the Beast Spirits away. Everytime a Destiny Stone was destroyed, the seal began to weaken, but at the same time, he needed enough power concentrated outside the seal to release him. When Davis and Mimi touched the stone, he was able to transfer enough power to unlock the forms that would allow the seal to be broken.

When asked why that was the case (or however I decide to approach it), Azulongmon responds that the Control Spires naturally strengthened the seal, since they performed the same purpose as the seal (being that they sealed away power). He goes on to say that the Control Spires themselves actually were the factor weakening the barrier between the Digital and Human World, since they were designed to breach the dimensional barriers. It is the after effects of the Control Spires, combined with the Beast Spirit of Metal, which has spatial powers, that caused BWGreymon and the other Digimon to be sent to Kyoto.

It is at this moment that Arukenimon and Mummymon walk back into the clearing, with Arukenimon speaking that its about time someone put together what they were doing. She holds up her hands in a defeated purpose, stating that while they succeeded in weakening the dimensional barriers, all their work was for nothing since all the Control Spires have been destroyed. Mummymon predictably goes on about how now they can really get together to the annoyance of Arukenimon. Arukenimon states that now that their plans are foiled, they really don't know what they are going to do before walking off.

With the three Digimon gone, Azulongmon turns his attention to the Digidestined, Davis, Mimi, Veemon and BanchoLillymon (who stayed Mega because she didn't fight). He starts to speak about how he is the guardian of the Eastern quadrant of the Digital World, which prompts Yolei to make the connection between him and Kyoto, to the delight of Azulongmon. Azulongmon goes on to explain how the Dark Masters sealed each of the four Mega level Digimon to prevent them from interfering with their plans with Piedmon being extra crafty when sealing him away.

When the original Digidestined gave up their Crests, the power of the Crests were meant to free the four Megas, but Piedmon's seal worked too well. Not only did it continue to seal Azulongmon away almost entirely, but it prevented the other Digimon Sovereigns from directly interacting with the Eastern Quadrant. And with the threat of the Digimon Emperor, the Four Sovereigns and Gennai used the ancient form of Digivolving known as Armor Digivolution to bypass the Control Spires restrictive power. Further, using the Spirit of Metal, they had to craft a new Crest of Kindness, thus creating the Digi-Egg of Miracles. With the Destiny Stones broken, Azulongmon

But Azulongmon didn't know that the Legendary Warriors would be needed as well. Azulongmon shares that he felt when Mimi, Davis and BanchoLillymon got pulled into the Dark Ocean by Dragomon and when Davis and Mimi unlocked their new powers. The four Sovereign Digimon were tasked to look over the Digital World by the Three Celestial Digimon that worked with the Legendary Warriors, and they were told that the Warriors would rise when great evil (not Darkness) would threaten the entire Digital World. Unfortunately, those forces are directly unbalancing the Digital World, causing Azulongmon to be unable to recover his powers easily.

Ken looks down at this, wondering aloud if they will have to destroy all the forces of Darkness in the Digital World. TK starts prattling on about how the forces of Darkness are a terrible thing, but he also states that it is impossible to get rid of Darkness. Before he can go any further, Davis interrupts him, stating how he still doesn't get the truth about Darkness. Darkness does not mean something is evil or bad. Like light, it is a neutral force, but it is up to their wielder on how it is used. When TK goes to argue, Azulongmon defends Davis, stating how using the powers of Darkness, Davis has done a huge amount of good for the Digital World. Likewise, he states how TK tried to use the power of light to destroy BWGreymon who is a real Digimon trying to find his place in the world.

Azulongmon's form begins to flicker as he speaks. He states that he has used up a great deal of his power breaking the seal, before a light floats down to Mimi. Azulongmon states that he was able to hide away one of the Beast Spirits before he was sealed, but now is the time to give it back. Before he leaves, he asks the Digidestined to think upon his words, and to be wary because the threat to the Digital World is still not gone, and he is not just talking about the Daemon Corps.

Stunned by what was shared, they all quietly left, contemplating what they were told. Unknown to them, two Digimon were watching what was happening. One of the figures says that they need to watch them, specifically Davis, Mimi and their Digimon.

Chapter 30: Astamon

A few weeks pass by, and the Digidestined and Davis and Mimi are all working towards scouting and restoring the Digital World. They are on edge with Azulongmon's words. The two groups (the Digidestined and the Warriors) are trying to go back to working together with Mimi going with TK, Cody and Ken and Davis going with Yolei and Kari. Mimi is meeting with Leomon to help check up on some rowdier Digimon in the mountains, while Davis is going to check out oceanside cities.

Mimi and the others arrive at the bottom of the mountain where Leomon is waiting. There's some small talk as they head towards where the Digimon are arguing with TK bringing up Davis' actions as the Warrior of Darkness to the exasperation of Mimi. Leomon, not unwise to TK's anger at Darkness, responds that the origin of Davis' power did not matter since he used it to protect and free any Digimon he could. Mimi reminds TK that if Davis did not awaken the Spirit of Darkness, then she would still be in the Dark Ocean under the command of Dragomon.

Before they can continue the conversion, they arrive at a clearing with two groups of Digmon facing each other with a single Digimon for each group leading them. One one side there was a familiar herd of Tuskmon and Monochromon with the leader Triceramon facing off against a Lavogaritamon and his group of Lavorvomon. Mimi quickly jumps into battle and Spirit Evolves into JetSilphymon. Her appearance calms the Triceramon, but enrages Lavogaritamon. When she starts to check up on Triceramon, Lavogaritamon is so enraged about the interference that he throws an attack at Mimi's unprotected back.

Mimi goes to block it, but a figure disperses the attack before completely incapacitating Lavogaritamon. It is an unknown Digimon to Mimi, but it introduces himself as Astamon. He speaks on how he was searching for Digimon to follow him, but he is disappointed to see that the best candidate is only able to attack their opponents back. He turns to JetSilphymon before stating that there are two candidates that he finds are worthy. When JetSilphymon asks who he really is, Astamon says that he is the Prince of the Dark Area, but he is currently trying to amass an army to bring peace to the land.

He says that he knows how JetSilphymon and Palmon are partially responsible for the defeat of Dragomon, as well as most of their accomplishments throughout the Digital World. He then says how it will be a great help if the inheritors of the Spirits were to help him in his goal. He says he is especially impressed with Mimi's action because while she doesn't have the raw power of Davis, she is just as capable as Davis. JetSilphymon respectfully declines, citing that she has a responsibility to the Digital World. Astamon accepts her choice, but he warns her that if she gets in his way, then he will not treat her with mercy before leaving.

They wait a few moments, before checking on the Triceramon. When Mimi inquires what was going on, Triceramon quickly explains that they are trying to move across the mountains to reach a new grazing ground, but they were stopped by the Lavogaritamon who demanded they pay tribute to pass through. But when they explained that they didn't have anything to pay, they got hostile. They've been trying to negotiate their way through, but the Lavorvomon wouldn't talk. It got to the point where Triceramon realized they would have to force their way through the Lavorvomon.

With that said, they made their way down the mountain and saw Triceramon's herd off.

Chapter 31: The Great White Whale

Meanwhile, Davis, Kari and Yolei are flying over there on their Digimon. Along the way, Yolei asks about where they are going. Davis explains how there has been a report about a pirate crew who has been stealing supplies, as well as, all the gold over on the western coast of the Eastern Quadrant Digital World. They are heading over to see if they can find them and get them to stop. Of course, when they arrive at the seaside town/city/whatever, they don't have to look since there is a literal gold pirate ship fleeing the town.

The three humans waste no time and go to check up on the town. There they meet several Syakomon, Kamemon, Gwappamon and the leader Shawjamon who are all injured, but they suffered no casualties. After checking on them, they find out that the pirates are led by a Mega level pirate Digimon called Olegmon who is covered in golden armor. He has a first-mate in Mermaimon who commands several Octomon, Hangyomon, Tobiumon, and Scorpiomon. Shawjamon says that thankfully Olegmon never goes further than just raiding for supplies and gold.

The three humans and their Digimon quickly head out after the pirate ship with Davis becoming Rhihimon, Veemon Digivolving into UlforceVeedramon, and Gatomon and Aquilamon DNA Digivolving into Silphymon. Along the way, Davis says that they should be careful, but they are going to try to talk first before fighting. When asked why, Davis brings up the point that Olegmon avoids causing casualties which means that he has some form of morals. He also explains that one of the members of the crew, Mermaimon, may be a Digimon who he freed from some Dark Spirals a while ago. It doesn't take long to find the ship, resting in the middle of the ocean.

When they landed, the Digimon were all on guard before Davis asks to speak with the captain of the ship. He even goes as far as to release his transformation, causing Mermaimon (who is sitting in a built in canal in the pool's deck) to recognize him. She follows through with this request, causing Olegmon to walk out of his quarters. Firstly, Olegmon expresses his gratitude for freeing Mermaimon from the Digimon's Emperor's control. After the pleasantries are finished though, Olegmon quickly demands to know why he is here.

Davis explains that he is here to ask Olegmon to stop pilfering the villages. Olegmon states that it is not possible. Before anyone can ask why, Olegmon begins to explain that a while ago, Daemon arrived and tried to recruit them. However, all but the MarineDevimon refused to follow them. When the crew tried to prevent him leaving, Daemon let loose an attack on the weaker members. Olegmon then pointed to several damaged pieces of his armor, stating that he took a lot of damage from the attack, and he needs the gold to restore his armor, otherwise he will be vulnerable to Ultimate level Digimon.

Before Olegmon can continue, something impacts the side of the ship. A cannonball impacted the ship, causing everyone to stumble. Olegmon angrily shouts for everyone to get to their battle stations causing the Digimon to scramble. Notably, the Hangyomon and Octomon were manning the cannons while Mermaimon, the Tobiumon and the Scorpiomon were ready in the ocean. When Davis asked what's going on, Olegmon said that he was preparing to fight the biggest other pirate in the ocean, CaptainHookmon, and his crew of Hookmon, Coelamon and Ebidramon, who has no care about who has treasure. The King Whamon is new since CaptainHookmon has been hunting it, though he still has the pirate ship sailing next to it.

Upon hearing this, Davis Spirit Evolves and promises to help. Rhihimon and UlforceVeedramon are easily able to plow through the opposing forces, as Silphymon stays back to help defend Olegmon's ship. CaptainHookmon is a confident Digimon who gleefully proclaims that with King Whamon under his command no one will be able to stop them. He then shouts at King Whamon to attack.

A massive stream of water blasts from Whamon's blow hole towards Olegmon's ship. Thankfully, it missed, but King Whamon then retreated underwater. Rhihimon and UlforceVeedramon, seeing the opportunity, began to quickly detain CaptainHookmon and his crew. CaptainHookmon put up a great fight, utilizing a huge back of tricks to counter Rhihimon, but when UlforceVeedramon finished taking out the members that were on the crew, CaptainHookmon was easily detained. With the members on the ship detained, Rhihimon begins to interrogate CaptainHookmon.

CaptainHookmon sees no reason to hide it, and he states that he captured King Whamon's friends, Tinkermon and Petermon, who built their kingdom of Never-Ever Land (yes, that is the actual Digital World Equivalent to Neverland) and hid them away. Whamon is following them or he would destroy the two. He refuses to tell them where he hid them before King Whamon surfaced.

CaptainHookmon shouts for King Whamon to destroy them, but King Whamon refuses to do so. A female voice brings all their attention to the top of King Whamon's head. There three Digimon rested on top of the giant whale's head, which CaptainHookmon angrily identifies as Petermon and Tinkermon as two of them. King Whamon asks for the two Mega Digimon to hop on, and he releases a huge wave sending the ship into the horizon once they do. Though, Rhihimon and UlforceVeedramon make sure to grab some gold. CaptainHookmon's water troops quickly follow after the speeding ship, ending the battle.

Upon getting up there, the third Digimon introduces himself as Reapmon, who was sent out here to scout Digimon for his master's army. He thought King Whamon would be a great addition, and he found out that CaptainHookmon had hidden Petermon and Tinkermon inside King Whamon, so he couldn't save him. King Whamon appreciates the help, but he doesn't want to fight. He just wants to make a home for all the Digimon who don't want to fight.

Reapmon ends up following the duo onto Olegmon's ship who are celebrating their win against CaptainHookmon. With the gold, Olegmon is able to restore his strength back to his normal level. With a few grateful words and a promise to stop pillaging, Olegmon departs from the three humans and their Digimon. Reapmon stays behind to talk to Olegmon after seeing his protectiveness for his crew members.

Chapter 32: Daemon

With the help of all the Digimon, the Digidestined and Warriors have succeeded in destroying almost all of the Control Spires and restoring the Digital World to its original state. Davis and Mimi are about to take a break when they come across a small village on the outskirts of the Digimon Emperor's territory where the largest surviving cluster of Control Spires still exists. This town is entirely empty with not a single Digimon in sight.

Concerned with what is going on, Mimi, Davis, and their Digimon start searching the village for anyone. They find nothing except a few destroyed doors with ransacked houses. In one of the houses, Calumon finds a book unintentionally after it hits him on the head (he thinks that they are playing hide and seek). The book contains a lot of writing with a few pictures. He takes it to the group excited about showing them the cool book that he found. When he shows it to Mimi, Mimi remarks that it is just an old book. Calumon is excited and rushes back towards the house in hopes of finding more.

Mimi starts to leaf through it, but is quite shocked when she saw the history of the village. It turns out that this village was where a greatly powerful Digimon was sealed away. He was known as Daemon, the Demon Lord of Wrath. He and his followers were causing trouble, before the Digimon Sovereigns destroyed them and sealed their data at this location. The legend was passed down through the town to prepare if the Digimon ever comes back. They all realize exactly what this means and realize that there is another threat they have to deal with.

Palmon wonders if the other Digimon who were after the other Spirits and Destiny Stones were part of Daemon's group. This causes Mimi to groan as there was another group to worry about. Davis points out how they should bring this up with Leomon and the others. They need to start preparing, and Leomon would be able to see about recruiting some more Ultimate Level Digimon to help combat the threat.

As they are leaving, a floating cloaked Digimon appeared. He congratulated them for finding his background, causing them to realize that this is Daemon. As they prepared to fight, he laughed and stated that he wasn't there to fight them just yet. He is looking forward to seeing how they will grow as he is searching for his lost key. He also states that he will be certain to pay them back for the trouble they have caused his followers.

Now, Davis and Mimi are doubly worried and they both hurry to go inform Leomon.

Chapter 33: A Christmas to Remember

The first half of the chapter is a bit of a fun episode to give everyone a chance to breathe before everything goes crazy. Since Ken and Wormmon has been working more with Davis and Mimi as a bit of a fifth and sixth member, he is a little more comfortable with asking them to head to the party. It is a little more shocking when he asks the younger Digidestined (as the older is at Matt's concert). At the party, Davis and Mimi help break the ice with some delicious food.

Unfortunately, they have to stop because some Control Spires had appeared at the concert and they need help with the rampaging DarkTyrannomon (3 of them), Matadramon, and the Bakemon that showed up. They immediately all rush over and help by destroying the Control Spires and successfully force the Digimon back into the Digital World.

They quickly get to work and are successful in rounding up the remaining Digimon.

After this, they home, but are shocked to wake up and see Digimon all over the world. After a brief fight where Ken is able to get Wormmon to the Mega level with Imperialdramon, Gennai appears and explains what is happening. Then they all split up into teams to get the Digimon back home by traveling all over the world to reopen the DigiPorts.
