...Overlord...

The word echoed through the adventurers' heads as their minds collapsed under their own weight.

Lurk laughed lightly with cold sweat running down his back. "O-Overlord? Y-you are quite a prankster Ainz."

Lurk looked into the undead's eyes with a smile on his face, but deep down, the poor thing was just trying his best to ignore the obvious.

Silence encompassed the place for a few moments as the adventurers' hands reached back to their weapons.

Then Maple's happy voice brought the adventurers' attention back to Maple.

"Well, Ainz is a human at heart so there should be no problem."

A dryad walked next to Luckrut and with a stern face commented in a sour tone. "That skeleton doesn't have a heart to begin with."

Maple put on a worried expression as she noticed how all the adventurers began to take aggressive and restless positions before Ainz.

"Wait, wait!" She ran towards Ainz and uncovered his ribs, and pointed to the large red orb inside his belly. "Look, he has a heart."

The silence in such a place was so heavy while the gazes of all the adventurers fell on that large red orb that was located between the great overlord's ribs.

Ainz slapped his face and growled in frustration then, he suddenly froze, as if he had realized something, and raised a hand and quickly said [Amnesia control], then he took Maple by the hand and walked away. of the place after erasing the memory of those present...

Ainz Ooal Gown - Momonga

Near the plains.

I'm an idiot, it's the only resolution I can come to after the last very awkward interaction, however, I can thankfully declare that at least I'm not that idiotic. Looking behind me at Maple who was following me with a confused look I couldn't help but let out a sigh even though I have no lungs in my being, once I was far enough away for a second and took Maple by the shoulders looking into her eyes.

I notice her curious and confused gaze looking at me with such torture... The emotion that her gaze causes me is such that my emotional suppression has to calm my mind, looking into her eyes I apologize slightly.

"Hey, sorry for what happened there. Back, no matter how much you say it, I am an Overlord, and humans tend not to think of me as a human."

She tried to object, but I raised a hand indicating I wasn't done yet.

"Maple, I'm glad you're so proactive in searching for Carne Village... but you know, there is no need to go through all of this."

Maple's eyes widened in surprise and terror at my words, however, I couldn't help but feel a small weight lift from my being with her tender gaze, in a small playful movement I casually pointed to Ainz Ooal Gown's ring on one of them my bony fingers...

Maple looked at him with her head tilted without understanding much, I couldn't help but laugh.

"Maple, do you know what this does?

She put a hand to her chin as she said, "Isn't that the ring that allows you to teleport to any part of Nazarick?"

At that moment her eyes widened as her face slowly turned red.

I silently cast Gate next to me and Maple lowers her head, suddenly I feel a small blow on my side that despite seeming to have been thrown with force does not really hurt me, with some tears of shame Maple complains loudly.

"You could always do this because you let me make a fool of myself!

Hitting me limply in a small, tender tantrum, Maple's voice trembles with shame. "We even played that role in front of Emperor Jircniv! Now we have to create a nation if we don't want to look like idiots!"

I laughed out loud, this girl has a real knack for dissociating from reality if she would just keep her head on the ground a little more, but I'm afraid that if she suggested it out loud Maple would stick her head in the ground and somehow way that I have yet to discover, obtain a skill even though I have not learned any new skill in this world.

I lovingly stroked Maple's head as I looked back at the city we were leaving behind, it's time to come back to my friend's child.

Carne Village

2 days later.

Several unique and different personalities gathered at a wooden table inside a small wooden hut that was used as a house by the village chief.

On one side on the right side of the table were all the floor guardians of Nazarick. (Except for the giant golem Gargantua and Victim ) On the other side of the table were Gazeff Stronoff, Erni, and the village chief.

Finally, at the end of the table Maple and Ainz stood seriously...

"I appreciate your presence today to talk about an important topic ... the objective of this meeting is to talk about the future," Ainz announced in a deep voice.

"During the last few days in this village we have integrated into the place, however, there is a problem, this village belongs to a noble from the Kingdom of Re- Estize." Ainz's gaze fell on Gazef who returned a defiant look into the skeleton's eyes that caused a sudden burst of anger from Albedo, however, Ainz quickly appeased her before looking back at Gazef. "Forgive me if the indiscretion of my next question is offensive, but let me ask directly, In your position as a warrior Captain, would there be any problem if I decided to take over this village?"

The warrior captain's eyes narrowed and he opened his mouth before closing it and thinking his words carefully. "Ainz-dono... I don't know how to say it more sensitively... but you are a skeleton." The man paused while looking at the floor guards with nervous and hostile faces before sighing tiredly. "Your power, as well as that of your subordinates, is undoubtedly immense." Gazef closed his eyes and rubbed his temples before continuing. "Even if I will plead for your good intentions in front of the royal court that does not take away from the fact that you are undead, with the annual war against the empire on the horizon and the recent political tensions, the Kingdom cannot afford to have such a great threat running completely free... " Stronoff lowered his head in shame. "I'm sorry, but I just don't see a way in which you can stay in the Kingdom, I thank you immensely for your gratitude, but for everyone's benefit I think it would be better if you left the village... All of you." The warrior captain's eyes fell sadly on Maple for a second.

A tense silence fell over the table, gloomy and melancholic as it was, it was also productive enough to allow a barely audible denial to be heard by everyone...

Suddenly that small denial became a decision, Enri slammed his hands on the table and stood in front of the warrior captain with a frustrated look. "How can you be so cold to our saviors when you guys didn't even arrive on time?! If it weren't for Ainz neither I nor my sister would be alive and it was Maple who got rid of all the attackers in the village."

Gazef noticed how Enri's voice lost some strength in that last part.

"Miss... I think you know very well who was responsible for most of the casualties among my men."

Maple's face darkened at the dark memory. Enri looked nervously at the girl before counterarguing. "But Ainz-sama brought them back to life, didn't he?!"

Those words touched a nerve in the warrior captain, Gazeff, who until then was stuck in a pose of reverence towards Ainz suddenly sat up and looked with hard eyes at Enri, the girl took a small step back in a shrug before clicking her tongue angrily and taking several steps forward until their faces were just a couple of centimeters away from each other. "We are nothing more than ants to the nobles you serve! Why should they care if we are now corpses or a village ruled by Ainz Ooal Gown-sama?!"

The warrior captain frowned profusely while neither blinked nor broke eye contact for several seconds, finally Gazef closed his eyes and sighed, calmly patting Enri's shoulder. "I understand your feelings, but the nobles will never accept an undead..."

"Then you have to lie to them! Say that the village was destroyed and there is nothing left, or say that Ainz is human, a mystery sorcerer who came to help!"

Gazef looked with a sour look at the girl before sighing and saying in a monotone and bored tone.

"I need to report the presence of the sun scription attacking the village, any sorcerer who is put in place will simply be sought as a possible pawn for the crown and even if Ainz can disguise himself as a human, I doubt that he will be willing to swear allegiance to the King."

A glance from Gazef at the guards confirmed the obvious indignation and hatred of each of them at the mere idea. "It's just not possible..."

"E-excuse me." Maple timidly raised an armor-clad hand, and then the attention of the entire room suddenly focused on Maple who shyly shifted in shame. "W-well... you know... eating them... it was me..." Maple's gaze drifted as she moved her hands restlessly. "Wouldn't it be ok if I were the one to swear loyalty to the king and ask for the village as a reward?..." At that moment Maple turned to Ainz and the guardians. "Ah! I-I'm not trying to take the glory... Momonga is the real savior of the day really! and I don't really know how to manage a village so I have no problem letting you manage it, that way there would be no reason to mention who Ainz is or that the floor guardians are demons."

After some time of deliberation, almost everyone in the room seemed convinced by the idea... But one demon in particular... Demiurge put a hand to his chin as he slowly analyzed Maple's words and actions, his face serious as he listened to Ainz show concern about Maple being possibly used as a weapon by the kingdom... It was clear to him: This alliance was truly a farce, Maple was trying to put Ainz in debt and obtain a position of superiority in this alliance, Ainz's supposed concern for Maple's well-being was seen by Demiurge as a subtle way of telling Maple that it would have a negative effect on Ainz's conquest plans, but Maple strongly insisted on this idea while acting like an airhead, her performance was so good. She was almost able to deceive Demiurge, but although he did not know Maple's ultimate goal he was smart enough that she was opposed and was actively putting obstacles in Ainz's plan of conquest.

Demiurge frowned, annoyed at encountering another entity that seemed to surpass his wits a side from the supreme one, and as if it were a personal objective, he decided to discover Maple's plans.

For the sake of Ainz Ooal Gown!

Author's Note.

Okay, first chapter in a while, (No for fanfiction, this was the second chapter in a short time.) I hope the somewhat bad first half isn't so bad that I throw the whole chapter away, but I didn't like where the story was going. (I wanted Ainz and Maple to register as adventurers in E-Rantel) And I wanted to go back to an earlier point in the story... Then I remembered... Ainz can use cursed [ Gate ] to return to Carne Village or the ring of Ainz Ooal Gown to return to the grave!

Drawing from that I managed to use the idea I had at first in which Maple went to the capital with Gazef.

Finally, we have Demiurge about thinking as only Demiurge can be.

Anyway, see you in a while with Tanya, although now I'm a little busier than on vacation, I have more motivation and, in the end, weekends are still a good time to write a chapter.

Sincerly.

"All the clases I took left end-of-year jobs that I can only do in my free time"

J-More

P.S. Now to correct errors it has been said. (Gazef is written with a single f but it is possible that I have sometimes skipped the name with ff ... sorry )

Pd2. Sorry for changing so much the way I do dialogues, this "||" It is a vestige of my other story, you cannot die if you are already dead and it is incorrect, the most correct thing in Spanish, in theory, is to use "—" while the English way is rather with the quotes "" " " and I think that I have used all three in this story...

Pd3. Damn, I reread the chapter while I was reviewing it and it was over very quickly, why can't the damn author publish faster? .·´¯`(▂)´¯`·.
