Thick, black smoke fogged her vision, poisoned her lungs. It invaded her mind, blocking any form of rational thought as she ran along the corridors.

The flames licked the walls, coming at her from all corners of the hallway. The sides, the ceiling, the floor, trapping her in. Imprisoning her.

There had to be a way out.

She coughed, struggling for breath as the flames encircled her. She ran back in the direction she'd came, looking for a window, a door, anything that could get her out into the fresh air.
