Chapter 10

Dorothy stood in a briefing room with Peggy, Steve, and the others. Dorothy bit her lower lip softly. This meeting was probably one of the largest to get down the information about where Hydra bases were. It made her heart sink somewhat knowing that Hydra had their grubby mitts all over the place and it wasn't going to be all that helpful if they weren't going to be able to stop them in their tracks.

"The fourth one was in Poland, here, not far from the Baltic…" Steve said, sketching precise coordinates on a map, perfectly duplicating the one he had seen. "And the last was outside of Strasbourg, say thirty, forty miles west of the Maginot line." He looked up. "I only got a quick look."

"Nobody's perfect," Peggy admitted as she looked up at him.

An aid picked up the map and carried it across the room.

Steve, Peggy, and Dorothy turned as Howard approached, a blue Hydra cartridge in his hand.

"Hey, aren't you supposed to be picking up a medal right about now?" Howard said with a smile.

"I'm off the publicity circuit." Steve mused his lips quirking into a smile. He wasn't about to be in the public eye again being what some people called him a chorus girl. He had finally proven himself that he was able to be the soldier that no one thought he could be.

Phillips approached them from across the room. "Rogers, you just embarrassed a senior senator in front of a dozen reporters and ten members of Parliament." He handed Steve a medal. "You should get a medal just for that." His eyes went to the Hydra cartridge. "You figure out what this is, yet?"

"If you believe Rogers, it's the most powerful explosive known to man," Howard explained as he looked at the thing that was in front of him. He still didn't know the depths of what this little device could do.

"If?" Steve questioned as he looked over to Howard.

"Well, either you're wrong or Schmidt's damn near rewritten the laws of physics." He moved towards his lab. "And I'm rather fond of the laws of physics…"

Dorothy let out a soft chuckle and shook her head. "Only you enjoy the laws of physics." She said looking at her brother.

"You enjoy them too, sister dear."

Dorothy rolled her eyes as she looked at her brother with a gaze of irritation.

Phillips moved towards the room-sized map table.

Dorothy bit her lip as she looked towards the table with her arms crossed.

"These are all of Hydra's factories."

"The ones we know about. But Sgt. Barnes said Hydra shipped all the bombs to another facility. And that...wasn't on the map."

Phillips studied the map, deciding. Then walked towards his office. "Agent Carter, coordinate with MI6. I want every Allied eyeball looking for that main Hydra base."

"What about us?" Peggy questioned turning her head to look at Phillips.

"We're going to light a fire under Johann Schmidt's ass." He looked over at Steve. "What do you say, Rogers? It's your map. Think you can wipe Hydra off it?"

Steve started, finally given the responsibility that he always wanted. "I'm going to need a team."

"We've already started lining up the best men."

"If you don't mind, sir...so Have I."

Dorothy let out a chuckle. "Come on Peggy, let's get on the horn with what Colonel Phillips needed you to do."

Peggy nodded her head and looped her arm with Dorothy and the two women left the room to go and get what was needed. "So you were rather close with Sergeant Barnes," Peggy said with a soft chuckle.

"I didn't do all that much." Dorothy mused. "I just helped him to the infirmary and went from there." Dorothy shrugged her shoulders smiling a small smile.

Peggy let out a soft chuckle. "Admit it. You're smitten with him." Peggy mused as the two of them walked together.

"I don't fancy him, Peggy," Dorothy said with a chuckle as they walked towards their private bunker area where they could make phone calls to MI6 to get help involved as quickly as possible.

"Oh, you don't hm?"

Dorothy shook her head. "No, he's a little rough around the edges." She said softly as the two of them walked to the radio room to get on the line with MI6.

"And someone who doesn't make a fool of himself when he talks to you?"

Dorothy rolled her eyes slightly as she opened the door. "Most men wouldn't talk to me, to begin with, and you know that. If they don't want the wrath of Howard that is. Besides… no man likes a brilliant woman."

"What makes you think that?"

"Peggy you know with this line of work. Men are scared of women who speak their minds or who are smarter than them."

"And Howard doesn't seem to be too concerned that you are smart as he is."

"He doesn't have to be concerned… He's my sibling. He's not a normal man."

"You do have a point on that."

This is the end of Chapter 10. I know there was quite a bit in here but not enough. It was more of a filler chapter. The next chapter of course will be fun to write as most of them are. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. Reviews keep me going when it comes to writing. Until next time.
