A/N: Look who's back from the dead( i know I posted in March but that feels like years ago now)

If I had a nickel for every Jo-centric fic I've written involving canon events, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

I'm not expecting a whole lot of attention for this story, but that's okay. I had an idea and I wrote it out. If other people like it too, then cool.

Enjoy!

All the hard work had finally paid off.

Despite all the press and gross comments and people on the street telling her 'no, you're too much of an ugly bitch to go to the Olympics.'

'You couldn't win a reality tv show so you can't possibly go to the biggest sporting event in the world.'

'Shouldn't you be qualifying in the men's event? Oh wait, you're too slow for that.'

She'd prove them all wrong.

Jo couldn't wait to destroy the hopes and dreams of those pathetic athletes running behind her.

She couldn't wait to see the look on those stupid faces that doubted her because of her teenaged self.

"Time to kick some international ass," she said under her breath before getting on the plane to London with the rest of Canada's Olympic team, sitting with her fellow athletics qualifiers.

She didn't even notice the gymnast with the orange necklace and short black hair that kept staring at her from afar.

Considering how long their flight was, it made sense for the two of them to run into each other at some point.

Jo was trying her best to suck it up and get over the fact that whenever she looked out her window the world looked like it was getting further and further away when it really wasn't, and that she felt an uncomfortable amount of nausea the whole flight that didn't want to go away, alongside her heart rate going at the speed it would when she was running.

Now would be a great time for those dumb 'anxiety' meds to start working, she thought as she clawed her armrest.

She drank water until she had dried out the provided cup. "Shit, where's a flight attendant when you need one?" she asked no one through gritted teeth, not really wanting to get up to find one but doing so anyway because the chair felt too constricting and standing surprisingly helped.

When the two athletes bumped elbows as she shuffled down the plane to demand more water, Jo took it as well as one would expect a nauseated, exhausted person would. "Watch it," she growled at her, irritable after six hours in the air.

"Sorry, um, I actually wanted to talk to you earlier but you were busy and, um…" the gymnast said nervously, mildly intimidated by the other woman's stature. "I just thought it kinda funny that we're both here."

"I'm not following, short stuff," Jo admitted. "I've never seen you in my life." She briefly covered her mouth with her hand and swallowed what little saliva was left in there.

"Oh, well I guess that makes sense, but um…you didn't happen to watch Total Drama Pahkitew Island on TV, did you?" The smaller athlete looked at her with mild concern. Maybe it was the sweat on her forehead despite the cool cabin of the plane.

Jo frowned. "No." She didn't watch All Stars or Pahkitew because that show didn't deserve anymore of her attention once she'd been eliminated. She'd had enough of Chris McLean's psychotic antics and avoided his image whenever possible lest she punch yet another hole in someone's wall.

"In any case, I'm Sky," she introduced herself, offering her hand to shake. "This is my first Olympics, it's always been a dream of mine ever since I was little, and it's kinda cool that another Total Drama veteran is here too-"

Jo let out a short laugh. "Damn right I'm a veteran after all the shit old man McLean put me through. I should get discounts at Costco for the radiation alone." Her expression returned to stark neutral bringing that up.

Sky retracted her hand and ran it through her dark hair awkwardly. "Yeah…we had to sleep in a cave. The island almost deleted itself," Sky agreed with a wry smile. "I won, but-"

"Oh congratulations," Jo said sarcastically with a slow clap. "Bravo."

Sky gave her a look. "You really are just as abrasive in real life, huh? And I thought it was just a strategy…"

Jo scoffed. "Listen flippy, it's not exactly my favorite topic to discuss. That show's all anyone brings up with me and I'm real-" she swallowed again, "sick of it by now. I'm here to win some hardware and that's it. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a flight attendant to catch." She pushed past her and moved further down the plane, occasionally using the heads of empty seats to keep herself steady.

Sky sighed and sat back down next to her teammate, who'd overheard a lot. "You all good, Sky?" she was asked.

She sank into her seat, disappointed. "Yeah, all good here…pass me that magazine, will you?"

Yes, Jo has a fear of flying now because of the whole debacle in the All Stars finale.
