In 1969 at Woodstock the band 'Creedence Clearwater Revival' was scheduled to go on stage at midnight, but they were following up 'The Grateful Dead' and as John Fogerty (The lead singer) states, "[The Grateful Dead] pulled their usual shenanigans and that set went on….and on….and on". By the time CCR took the stage long after midnight on Sunday, August 17, the massive crowds were mostly zoned out or asleep. Looking out over the sea of people, Fogerty described it thusly: "Dante scene, just bodies from hell, all intertwined and asleep, covered with mud." The band was about to just not play and instead see about another time for their performance. However, Fogerty recalls seeing and hearing one guy way out in the back and in the darkness, flicking a lighter and shouting at the top of his lungs which was barely audible all the way to the stage, "We're with you, John!"
John Fogerty still performs and he frequently tells this story at his concerts. The story concludes with the band becoming so inspired that night that they went ahead and played the entire set, performed their entire show just for that one guy.
I told that story to tell this one.
When I published my first story, I did not think I would really ever publish another as when I was writing "The Extra Son The World Would Never Need" I had a burst of genuine inspiration to the point that the story quite honestly wrote itself. I put so much time and love into it from the beginning of that April when I had the idea all the way to that September when I published the final chapter that I did not know if I would ever have such a feeling again.
For some time now I have been exchanging messages with a fan who so loved my first story that I feel it is proper to mention him here. Dargur left some reviews on my first story and then was sending me ideas of which he gave me the permission to do with what I wanted; alter and change them as needed to make the story or stories work. But the important thing to note here is Dargur's massive amount of patience in this matter. For nearly a year and a half I went to work on a Master's Degree of which I have since finished and from the moment I published the final chapter of my first (and as of now only) story in 2020 to today Dargur has been sending messages of story ideas and inspiration.
I must make a confession to him and any others: I had told him that by September of 2022 I would have something for him. Sadly, I have nothing for him yet. There were times over the course of time and communication between Dargur and I that I had thought about abandoning this endeavor and letting this project go despite the active ideas in my head on the matter. But then I thought about my single dedicated fan who deserved to have his patience rewarded. And so, like CCR at Woodstock, I have resolved to write just for that one guy.
With that said, I am sure that I have more fans and so I will announce this. I do have a sequel planned for my only story. I have a rough storyline conceptualized. Real life factors have been slowing progress, but know that IT IS COMING….eventually.
I also have an idea for another story which may or may not see the light of day and may or may not be connected to the same storyline as the aforementioned. This one is very early in development.
Both stories will take place within the 'Tale Spin' Universe.
With that said, a delayed story is eventually good, a rushed story is forever terrible. It is my hope to get at least one story out before February.
Thank you everyone and special thanks to DARGUR for without his constant messaging, I would not even be here to release this message.
