The Ultimate Song of Love
A/N1: I don't own any recognisable characters, but myself an OC named Mawuli.
A/N2: I also realise that these universes normally won't work, but that's the beauty of Fanfiction and can do what I'd like.
A/N3: Constructive criticism is open, but if it's about how long the song is, keep it to yourselves because I know. I've sung this. As well as the lyrics, they were on purpose.
A/N4: And if you think I've missed any characters like Thumblina, Miss Juliana, or Minnie Mouse, it's because there is a limit and would make this already ridiculously long song longer. But, if you want a verse from them, leave a review and I'll try my best to come up with one for them.
A/N5: And now I leave you with a challenge: You create your own feel good song for a character that's had a difficult life in a book or a real person that you know, and if you choose a real person, perform it for them and then give them the lyrics. It doesn't matter if you can't sing or play an instrument or aren't a 'good' lyricist, what matters is that you care about them and took the time to create the song just for them.
A/N6: P.S. Don't like, don't read. For those who do, please enjoy! And maybe this will save someone, I hope. Whatever one may be going through, please go about it in the SAFEST of ways!
Summary: Female heroines, especially Disney-esque heroines, are known for their many strong qualities such as cleverness, kindness, and loyalty. But, what if they banded together to sing and dance to a song they worked on for a man whose life always needed an extra bit of light? Who else could the song help lift up?
"Señor Madrigal?" Princess Kate inquired softly, her voice imbued with gentleness and nervousness. The man in question was reading in an empty, but public living room, long salt and pepper curls drooping in his face. The expression was of the questioning type. "When you are available, your presence is requested in the Royal Theatre." He marked his page and glanced off to the side.
"It's only three o'clock," the man announced. "I have time right now." Kate sucked in a breath.
"How's your progress with crowds?" she asked cautiously. The Colombian male shrugged.
"I can walk around the Encanto Plaza well enough," he replied proudly.
"Good to know," the princess noted. Then she took another breath and pulled out her phone. Each of the Disney Girls and the third Generation of Madrigals got one for the project that they'd worked on for the man in front of her. She called Mirabel. "Mira, él me dijo ahora."
"Ah, okay, getting ready! See you in five!" She hung up.
"Okay, listo," the girl said. He got up and walked to the door. Once out, she raced up and down the hallways, hoping that she would beat him there. The theatre happened to be four floors below. She came to the top of the first staircase and grasped its ornate bannister. She was filled with adrenaline and thus had left him in the dust. She yelled as she slid down to each floor. There were a few more halls to rush down before she reached the theatre.
Raya set her dark gaze on her. The other princess grinned.
"You made it," Anna cried. Kate grinned. He hadn't arrived yet.
"I'm going to be truthful and admit that the ride was really fun! Just don't look down and hold on tight."
"Kate!" Elsa exclaimed. "Don't encourage others!"
"Sorry," she said sheepishly. Mirabel checked again and she reported that he had arrived. He was making his way down the centre aisle, choosing the centre seat in the first row to seat himself.
"Okay, we're ready to get started," Mirabel stated, gesturing to an extra figure behind everyone. "You can go introduce yourself and the reason why he's here, alright?" The man nodded.
The man was tall, but very slight. He walked with long, purposeful steps. "Hola, me llamo Regulo Arcturo Negro," he greeted in a very low, soft voice. "Your sobrinos composed you a song that we hope that you enjoy."
With a sweep of his hand, the man, Regulus, masterfully conjured up a heavy, ornately carved piano. Bruno huffed out a laugh as Regulus dipped his head forward and long curls swept forward to fall into his eyes. The first few notes floated out of the piano, filling the air with tenderness. "I, actually, don't know the melody or lyrics to this song, so some of it will be a surprise to me as well," he murmured, feeling awkward for not knowing and how he had admitted it himself and to another person.
With another gesture of the hand, the air around him would amplify the voices. Mirabel appeared, dancing to the music for ¾ time. Then she began to sing. Upon her arrival, Bruno stood and cheered loudly. Regulus was very surprised that he could be so loud.
We hope that someday you'll show us all that you feel
Except that he didn't want to frighten them with how broken he was. Well, everyone is broken, even the brightest of people.
All that there is, it's real
Every nightmare, every warm touch, every experience was real.
In the end, it will help you heal
Would it truly help him heal? It's been five years but he still had those thoughts of whether or not he was worthy of the time he got to spend with the ones he loved, as short of spurts as they were.
You're truly a part of the family, but we know that statement would make you reel
It did and didn't he know it. Every day he was still mind-boggled that he could interact with people, let alone his family.
Regulus smiled. This man out in the house was so loved.
'Cause your dreams, that's what you've always wanted to feel
It was true. When he was away, his dream was to be able to interact with his family, and he could do that now. He was going to make the most of that opportunity now.
It had been Regulus' dream as well, to have his parents and his brother be on good terms, but unlike Bruno, that dream never came true. He'd never be able to tell his brother how much he mourned the time that they'd lost and that he had been right about his former master.
And now it's real
For Bruno, it was. However, Regulus had fled to Russia and that's how he was discovered by Anastasia. He'd made a name for himself with his piano expertise.
It's the biggest deal
Any wonderful family reunion was a big fuss. Even an introvert like Bruno and Regulus would make a point to participate.
Worthy of a buffet meal
Bruno thought of Julieta while Regulus thought of Kreacher, the Black Family House-elf. Both men chuckled fondly as they observed Mirabel singing and frolicking in time with the music.
By the way, fates aren't sealed
With what the prophecies reveal
Because people and circumstances can change the course of one's life. Mirabel did just that for Bruno. Without her, he'd be still living in the walls of Casita. Without Anastasia, Regulus would be wallowing in self-pity in that he should've drowned in the lake of inferi.
And all those rude people should kneel
That made them chuckle. Without missing a beat, Regulus rose to his feet, still playing, and bowed gracefully. "You're not rude!" Mirabel protested.
"It's the polite thing to do," he countered. Bruno shook his head. Señor Negro didn't need ro to do that.
You've got a core of steel
"Uh…Thanks? So do you," Bruno said awkwardly. Mirabel inclined her head towards her tìo. What he has done in life has been out of necessity, not because he was particularly brave, but his family would strongly disagree. It was easier to agree than to protest; he'd learned that the hard way.
Since people make you peel
Back the layers of life that are not ideal
Isn't that the truth? Everyone was always asking for a vision, and many of them weren't the best when it came to the outcomes. People dying, people getting ill, and people being evil. Regulus had fought in a bloody war.
You would look amazing in teal
Bruno looked at his shirt under his ruana. It was a faded purple. However, how would it look in a soft green-blue like his sobrina's skirt? Regulus gave him a tentative stare. Bruno nodded. With a jab of his thin, pale pointer finger, the shirt matched Mirabel's flamboyant skirt in colour.
We're so sorry for all the time that people rudely steal
From you when you're trying to heal
Bruno shook his head again. No one needed to apologise, least of all Mirabel. She and the rest of the younger generation were doing their absolute best in their efforts to help him heal. This song was a great example of it. Regulus rolled his eyes. Let them apologise for whatever they think that they did. It would make them feel better. But they'd done nothing. But still.
