Cream colored paint splashed onto the wooden walls of heelers household, being spread around In the process. The ones doing so were Bandit and Shane who were In the middle of repainting the house's walls outside to cover up cracks and old paint that changed color followed by being damaged overtime as Bandit pointed to Shane where he should paint next.

"Get those cracks to your left. Also don't forget to paint over the huge one to your right, Chilli has been on me about that one especially" Bandit guided him as the human teen listened, painting over the areas the blue heeler had recommended him as Bluey and Bingo the came over fascinated by what they were up to.

"Dad. What are you guys doing?" Bluey was the first to ask her father who dipped his paintbrush in a bucket filled with paint, that was next to both him and Shane before answering his oldest daughter. "Nothing. Me and Shane are repainting the house while your mother is gone. Shouldn't take much longer" Bandit told his daughter as she then responded with an "Oh. fascinating, come on Bingo let's get back to playing explorers" She said as they both ran off again leaving Shane and Bandit alone to talk amongst themselves.

"Hey. Thanks for helping me out while Chilli and Brandy are on a spa day, today would've been stressful if it wasn't for you being here" Bandit told Shane who was in the middle of painting another spot before dipping his brush again with paint.

"It's all good dude. Not like I haven't done chores before, however I never had much experience with painting honestly. My mom wouldn't let me to avoid ruining my house floors" Shane said back to which Bandit just laughed a little at the last thing he said. "Honestly Mate. I don't blame her," Bandit joked back while we were painting the wall.

Presumably 20 minutes had passed or it felt like 20 minutes to Shane and Bandit who were sitting on the ground breathing heavily, their backs against the wall that was only half way done from being completely repainted. "Dad? Shane?" The two then overheard the faint sound of Bluey to their right as they both turned and saw her running over to them as she looked at them with the face of confusion.

"Is everything alright?" The blue heeler asked the two as Bingo came over as well, painting heavily from running in a quick pace. "Yeah, is it?" Bingo said while trying to catch her breath. "Everything's fine, we're just a little… exhausted" Shane explained to them, breathing heavily like Bingo was doing a second ago, frankly he had no idea painting a wall would be so time consuming and tiring as Bluey responded again. "Well at least you got some of the wall" Bluey admitted, this comment from Bluey surprised the two as they looked up and saw they only had the left side of the wall finished and repainted, she was not wrong.

"Uh… I imagined we were closer to done" Bandit uttered, He swore they were almost at the homestretch, but his thoughts ended up incorrect. "Guess not," Shane responded, grabbing a water bottle next to him and putting it to his mouth, attempting to take a drink out of it only for his tongue to receive a droplet of water and nothing more.

"Biscuits, by the time Chilli and Brandy get home we're still going to be out here, this is going to take forever," Bandit said, in favor of just wanting to throw in the towel. "What? You really wanna give up that easily, Bandit?" Shane asked him, confused as to why he wants to give up so soon especially when they're almost close to being done.

"Well kid, it is rather hot out today, My thirst has already gone down the drain and now I want to consider taking a dad nap. maybe some more cold water could help though" Bandit suggested which gave the young blue heeler an idea. "Umm…. Tell you what. If Me, Bingo and Shane go inside and gather a cooler's worth of water… Would you consider helping him finish the wall?" Bluey offered to which Bandit did a brief thinking face, wondering if he should agree to this or not but his mind would be made up when he responded.

"Deal" He said, making Bluey smile with excitement. "Hooray! Come on Shane let's go grab some" Bluey says, giving Shane's hand which he stood up and followed her around the corner as Bingo did the same. Inside the kitchen, Shane opened the refrigerator, only to find a few bottles of cold water within it. "That's all we have?" Bluey says in shock that there wasn't more than she thought. "Seems likely" Shane replies, grabbing the ones that were in there and placing them onto the kitchen counter.

"We must have drunk the rest. Unfortunately this isn't going to be enough" Shane said, disappointing the two young heelers. "aah… What are we going to do now?" Bluey and Bingo both asked in unison, their tone of voice being saddened by the news. "I'm not sure. But I'll take these outside in the meantime, surely there will be some luck" Shane told the two before grabbing the bottles of cold water and heading back outside leaving Bluey and Bingo to think amongst themselves.

"If only there was some way to get more help" Bingo wonders sadly. "Help? Umm.." This however made Bluey think of a potential idea, she wasn't sure what it would be until it then struck her. "Ha! Bingo you're a genius!" Bluey acclaimed with an idea as Bingo turned to look at her sister after hearing that.

"Genius? Why's that?" Bingo asked in confusion as to what's going on. "I know just who to call for the job" Bluey continued to acclaim once more as she then ran into the living room. She then pushed a step stool over to a wall where the telephone was placed as she stood on to it and grabbed the phone putting it up to her ear while humming before dangling in a pacific phone number to which it rang for a second until someone on the other end answered. "Gooday! You reached Sparky"

An Hour later

Shane's POV

I continued to paint the spot I left off on to receive water with Bluey and Bingo… speaking of which. Bandit was to my right painting with me, turns out the few cold waters was enough to keep both of us hydrated for another good while. However as we put some effort in getting it done, I could hear the sound of vehicles being stopped and presumably parked.

I placed my brush back into the paint bucket and went around the corner to the front of the house, cautiously seeing a white truck with some construction materials in the trunk followed by another green vehicle similar to one my grandpa used to drive. I recall he sold it because it kept breaking down and running out of gas quickly but I digress. They were parked in Bandit's driveway which I found strange. Did Bandit invite some friends over? My eyes would then lock onto three bipedal dogs who were talking among themselves.

The first two appeared to be male, one had brown fur and dark brown eyebrows with gray nose to boot wearing a yellow construction like shirt and a tool belt with different tools around his waist. The next had beige colored fur, a brown nose, curly mullet like hair that covered his eyes and a somewhat mustache sporting a construction vest with sunglasses in said hair followed by a tool belt similar to the other guy which even includes similar tools.

The most notable thing I found looking closer was that he had tattoos on each side of his arms, one of a cherry and the other being a black tiger face. After investigating those two I moved my eyes to the ladder somebody different. Unlike the other two there appeared to be female with mostly red fur and a brown nose wearing earrings but just like the guy with the tattoos, she also wore a construction vest only that she strangely had no toolbelt instead she had on some safety goggles and a hard helmet.

"Shane? Whatcha looking at, Mate?!" While overly thinking to myself, I heard Bandit call out to me. This instantly blew my cover as the three looked in my direction, giving me normal yet surprised expressions. "Are the neighbors bothering you? or… Woah Sparky?" Bandit walked over to me seeing what I was looking at, being surprised as well at who it was. "Yep, that's me and the usual… Chippy" The dog with brown fur stated, presenting himself to go by the name Sparky while pointing at the one with tattoos who went by the name Chippy. "Sup" Chippy only said as Bandit then walked over to them while I followed suit.

"How you doing, Mate?" Bandit asked Sparky who was grabbing a bottle of chocolate milk from his vehicle. "You know. The typical business stuff… not really worth blabbing about to the havens that's for sure, say who's the kid you got there? Last my mind remembered you didn't have a human in your family" He asked back to which he proceeded to drink the entirety of his chocolate milk. "His name is Shane, he's just staying for the the time being" Bandit responds as I proceed to jump into the conversation.

"Bandit. you know this guy?" I had a question of my own, making the guy chuckle a little bit at my question before answering. "Know him? Me and Chippy here are the tradies who built the fish pond in Bandit's backyard" Sparky answered, I was then left in confusion as I gave him a weird look.

"Wait… there's a fish pond in the backyard?" I wondered which caught Bandit off guard hearing what I just said. "You didn't notice there was a fish pond back there?" Bandit retorts. The scene then changed to the backyard, showing a fish pond built and with water flowing down a mini waterfall before returning to me, Bandit and the other three. "I mean… It's in an obscure part of the backyard and.." I tried to explain, only to realize I sounded dumb in front of these adults. "Nevermind" I decided to immediately end the awkward conversation.

"So… what are you all doing here exactly?" Bandit changed the subject, in wonder as to why these tradies were here in the first place. "Received a call from your daughter apparently, said your looking to get the outside walls of your house a little touch up if you know what I saying, plus I thought it would be a great opportunity to teach the new recruit, Chippy's girlfriend Cherry, a thing or a two of how Me and Chippy get it done" Sparky claimed, I now knew who the red saluki was, her name was Cherry… Well that explains the tattoo on Chippy's arm. "Excuse me… What! Which one of my daughters called you?" Bandit wonders in panic that he found out one of his daughters were the ones that brought them here.

"I did" Suddenly Me and the others heard a voice that was obviously Blueys, as we all looked on the steps leading to the front door, the young blue heeler along with her sister who sat and listened in the whole time. "Shane?" Bandit gave me a side eye with a raised eyebrow, as I realized he thought I had something to do with this considering I went into the house with them to fetch water.

"Trust me, I did not tell them to do this" I defended myself, being honest that I grabbed the water and headed back outside but now thinking about it, I did leave them alone inside the house… My eyes then widened. "So what are we waiting for, we got two and a half hours to knock this out of the park and I think with you and your human kid's help, this place will look astronomic" Sparky says, Bandit looked hesitant at first about needing help but seeing it would be faster then if Shane and him had done it he shrugged.

"Two and a half hours Huh? I guess that's fine if you're not planning to do anything outside of that" Bandit said however he would turn out wrong… So Very Wrong.

To be continued...
