Three years later

Link was alone in his house in Kakariko Village when there was a knock on his door.

I wonder who it is. Link thought as he walked to the door. But once he opened it there was nobody there. He was about to close the door when he noticed and envelope on the ground. He picked it up and noticed the Zora's Sapphire Symbol on the corner of the envelope.

Dear Link,

I'd like to see you at the Zora's Fountain in front of Lord Jabu-Jabu.

Sincerely,
Ruto, Princess of the Zora's

He left right away to head to Zora's domain, but as soon as he got there King Zora was waiting for him.

"Hello Link, what brings you here?" King Zora asked.

"Your Majesty, I got a letter from Princess Ruto," Link responded. "She wanted me to meet her in front of Lord Jabu-Jabu."

King Zora nodded his head as he moved aside, "Will you let me know what she wanted because I didn't know that she sent you a letter?"

"Of course."

He walked past King Zora and got to Lord Jabu-Jabu expecting to see Ruto, but she wasn't there. Little did he know she was peeking at him from under the water. At that moment she jumped out of the water and landed in front of Link.

"Hey Link," Ruto said. "I'm glad that you made it."

Link bowed, "Of course, your highness, you needed me for something."

"Yes," Ruto said as she smiled at him mischievously, "I wanted to talk to you about the future

Ruto walked closer to him and pulled him into an embrace.

"Ruto, what are you doing?" Link cried but for some reason he was enjoying it.

She kissed him for the first time and they stood holding each other for a while. Ruto finally let go of him and blushed.

"Would you like to be my boyfriend?" Ruto asked hoping he says yes.

Link nodded his head, "Of course."

"Come on let's go tell my father."

Ruto grabbed his hand and they left the Zora fountain. Once they were in front of King Zora Link bowed as Ruto spoke to her father.

"Father, Link and I are dating now."

King Zora looked to Link "You may stand Link, is this really true."

"Yes, your majesty," Link responded.

"Well daughter as long as you are happy, that is all I care about," King Zora said, "Link I know you would take good care of her."

Link nodded his head, "Yes, I would protect her with my life."

"Father is there a place he could stay here in the domain?" Ruto asked, "Because I want him to be closer to here."

"For now let him go back home as I prepare a place for him."

Link kissed Ruto before he left. "I'll come visit as soon as I can."

"Do you promise?" Ruto asked.

"Yes I promise."

Ruto watched him leave. Once he was gone King Zora looked at his daughter.

"So you really do love him don't you."

Ruto looked at her father and nodded her head, "Yes, I really do."

"Do you love him enough that you would want to marry him?"

"Yes, and maybe one day have children together."

"I understand," King Zora replied. "Like I said before, as long as you are happy that is all I care about."

Once Link left Zora's Domain he ran into Princess Zelda.

"Link what are you doing here in Zora's Domain," Zelda asked.

"I was just visiting Princess Ruto."

"Knowing what Princess Ruto is like, I'm sure there is more to it than that."

Link blushed, "Well, she asked me to be her boyfriend."

"And what did you say?"

"I told her yes," Link responded, "Because I really do love her."

Zelda looked down disappointed, "Are you happy with that decision?"

"Yes, I am."

"Alright then, good-bye Link." Zelda said and she ran off in a hurry.

She seemed disappointed. Link thought as he watched her go.

Zelda returned to her father crying.

"What's wrong, Zelda?" King Icil asked.

"I found out that Link loves someone else," Zelda cried.

"Who?"

"Princess Ruto."

"Of the Zora's?" King Icil asked.

Zelda nodded her head and cried some more.

"Did she ask her or did she ask him?"

"She asked him to be her boyfriend."

The king looked at his daughter, "And what did he say?"

Zelda started crying again, "He said yes."

The King felt bad for his daughter and he didn't know what to tell her.

Once Link got back to Kakariko Village it was night so Link went to bed. He laid back and stared at the ceiling. I'm glad that Ruto felt the same way that I do. Link thought as he fell asleep.

One Month Later

Link was settling down in his new house in Zora's domain behind the Zora's Fountain (A/N Those he played the game it's close to the Fairy Fountain where you get Farore's Wind.) All of a sudden there was a knock on his door. Once he got the door open Ruto ran past him inside. Link was in awe of her beauty and her father scolded her.

"Ruto, it's impolite to burst into someone else's house," King Zora yelled.

"I'm sorry father," Ruto replied. "I was just very excited that Link is staying here in the domain and to see him, but mostly I'm excited to see him."

Link looked to Ruto's father, "It's okay your majesty, I was about to leave to see her anyways."

"Link do you want to go to Lake Hylia and relax?" Ruto asked.

Link nodded, "If it's alright with your father."

Ruto looked at her father hopeful. King Zora thought about it for a minute.

"Normally I wouldn't let you go by yourself, but since Link will be with you then you would be alright to go."

"Really," Ruto squealed. "Thank you father."

Once they got to Lake Hylia. Ruto grabbed Link's hand and they walked and swam until the got tired.

"Let's just relax floating on the water," Ruto suggested.

Link nodded, "Whatever you want to do."

All of the waters were eerily calm.

"Are the waters here always this calm?" Link asked.

Ruto shook her head, "No, not this calm.

But before they could see anything something grabbed Ruto. Ruto screamed and struggled.

"Link help me," Ruto cried. "Something's got me."

Link struggled to catch up but something hit him on the head.

Oh no Ruto. Link thought before he went unconscious. I have to save her somehow.

He saw a figure swim up to him and felt arms under him. The figure pulled him along but he couldn't see who it was. Though the only thing that he could recognize was that the figure was a female.

I wonder who that is, Link thought. Then everything went dark.

Ruto found herself in a dark room and she saw a figure.

"Who are you and what do you want with me?"

"You brought this on yourself Princess Ruto," the figure said.

"Why, what did I ever do to you?"

The figure didn't answer.

"Answer me," Ruto demanded.

"You took Link from me," the figure said finally answered as it walked into the light.

Ruto's mouth dropped as she was shocked at who it was. It was Zelda.

"I loved Link, but you took him from me."

Once Link came to there was someone standing over him.

"So you're finally awake," the figure said, "You took quite a hit."

"Where's Ruto?" Link asked hoarsely.

"Who is that?"

Link swallowed hard, "She's my girlfriend and she's a Zora."

"I'm sorry, I didn't see anyone else," the figure said. "My name is Nolava, by the way."

"Why Zelda, I thought we were friends?" Ruto cried.

"Yeah," Zelda replied coldly. "We were, but not anymore."

Ruto looked down sadly. I hope Link is alright, Link thought.

"I didn't know that you loved Link," Ruto said, "I'm sorry I really didn't mean to take him from you."

"Yeah, she did," a voice said. "But you are just bait to lure the Hero of Time here."

That voice sounded like Link's voice. Ruto thought as the figure came into view and the figure looked exactly like Link.

"Why do you want the Hero of Time?" Ruto asked.

"Well, since you asked, I want to kill him and take the Triforce of Courage away from him."
