-Haley's POV-

The drive to the hospital felt like an eternity. Nathan and I sat in tense silence, both lost in our thoughts and concerns for Brooke. I couldn't shake the feeling of dread that had settled over me since Julian's call.

When we finally arrived at the hospital, we rushed inside, following the directions to Brooke's room that Julian had provided. As we approached the door, I couldn't help but wonder who Julian Baker was and how he was connected to Brooke.

Nathan reached for the door handle, and I could see the determination in his eyes. He was ready to face whatever awaited us in that room, but I could also see the worry etched on his face.

The sight that greeted us as we entered the room was heart-wrenching. Brooke lay unconscious on the hospital bed, her face still bearing the signs of her ordeal. Tubes and monitors surrounded her, a stark reminder of her fragility. Julian stood by her side, his expression a mix of relief and anxiety as he saw us enter.

"Brooke," I whispered, my voice breaking as I rushed to her bedside. I took her hand gently, squeezing it as if trying to convey my love and support through that simple touch.

Nathan remained standing, his eyes locked on Julian. There was tension in the air, and I could sense that he was sizing up this stranger who had been with Brooke during such a critical moment.

-Julian's POV-

The arrival of Haley and Nathan Scott was both a relief and a source of anxiety for me. I could see the genuine concern on their faces as they approached Brooke, and it was clear that they cared deeply for her. But there was also a sense of tension in the room, an unspoken question about who I was and what my role was in all of this.

Haley, with tears in her eyes, reached out to Brooke, and I silently stepped aside to give them some privacy. Nathan, on the other hand, continued to scrutinize me. I could feel his gaze, and I knew he had questions.

"Thank you for calling us," Haley said to me, her voice filled with gratitude.

I nodded, my throat tight with emotion. "I couldn't just leave her alone. She needed someone here."

Nathan finally spoke, his voice measured but with an edge of caution. "Who are you, exactly? How do you know Brooke?"

I took a deep breath, realizing that I owed them an explanation. "I'm Julian Baker. I'm new in town and went for a late run to get a lay of the land. I was running passed the store when I saw it had been broken into and saw her...hu-hurt and called an ambulance." I finish on a choke.

Nathan's gaze didn't waver, but he seemed to be assessing my sincerity. "And how did you know to call us?"

I hesitated for a moment before answering, "I saw that she had called Haley multiple times today. I thought she was someone who should know what happened to her."

Nathan seemed satisfied with my response, at least for now. "Thank you for being there for her when she needed someone. We appreciate it."

The tension in the room began to ease, and I could see the relief in Haley's eyes as she focused on comforting Brooke. I knew that this was just the beginning of a difficult journey for all of us, but at least we were united in our concern for Brooke's well-being.
