Foreword: And so the torch is passed from father to son, let's see how things pan out?

Gohan had decided to stay over at Bulma's place to avoid walking in on something he didn't want to see and ended up staying in a guest room. Gohan got up and did his morning routine and after he had breakfast and brushed his teeth he was confronted by Vegeta.

Vegeta: "Want to train with me in the Gravity Chamber?"

Gohan: "...I'm not going Super Saiyan 2 during training Vegeta"

Vegeta: "How else am I supposed to learn it?"

Gohan: "After Cell is dealt with"

Vegeta gave Gohan a sour look before skulking off to the Gravity Chamber leaving the still in Super Saiyan youth stood in a hallway alone before Trunks walked into the hallway and walked over to Gohan.

Trunks: "Sorry about father, he's probably not in the best mood due to being called out for letting Cell get his full power. Well that and no longer being the strongest after you and Goku came out of the Time Chamber. So you guys really got to the next level of Super Saiyan?"

Gohan: (Nods) "Yeah, I think we were able to get it in the Chamber because we where already close to making Super Saiyan as natural as our base forms before going in and it was a matter of polishing it and having another 'triggering event' in Super Saiyan like the original transformation."

Trunks gave a thoughtful look and nodded, the description making sense to the fellow Half-Saiyan before a questioning look formed on his face.

Trunks: "How can you have a 'triggering event' during training?"

Gohan: "Good visualization of a heart breaking situation"

Trunks: "Losing people you care about?"

Gohan: "Yeah..."

Trunks: "I see, thanks for telling me. I'm going to train with my father, best of luck with mom and the android"

Gohan: "Thanks, best of luck with Vegeta"

Trunks gave a thankful nod and walked to the Gravity Chamber while Gohan walked to Bulma's workshop, finding the inventor haunched over the work desk and finishing the installation of little red domes on Android 16's palms. Bulma stood up, stretched and turned around while rubbing her eyes.

Gohan: "All-nighter?"

Bulma: "Hey Gohan, yeah I might have overdone it. But I installed the Energy Absorption function and created a Quad-core Infinite Energy battery from the parts Bansuri got from the scrapped Android 19 and the programming wiped Androids 13, 14 and 15. This battery plus the one he already had? I think 16 here can at least contend with Cell. I also removed a bomb."

Gohan nodded along to Bulma's overnight work and was impressed at the theorized power Android 16 now had. He was thrown off-guard by the mention of a bomb though.

Gohan: "Bomb?!"

Bulma: "Yeah, every Android design Gero has made has a bomb in them whether they're complete machines like 16 here or if they were people once like Lapis and Lazuli. Still, the fact Gero kidnapped people to turn into weapons for a petty grudge against Goku for stopping a group trying to take over the world? So glad he's dead."

Android 16 had sat up on the table as Bulma was putting away tools and parts while ranting about Gero, 16 found his movements to be easier and that with his current power he could face the Super Saiyan in front of him and have favorable odds to leave the encounter victorious, assuming the transformation after the current form is unused.

Android 16: "If I had these upgrades earlier, I could have destroyed Cell's previous forms...before I lost Lapis and Lazuli..."

A sad look formed on the Android's face at remembering how he failed his friends before he shook it off and gained a determined expression.

Android 16: "Gohan, as I am not yet used to the power and functions I now have, I would like to face you in a 'sparing match' so I may recalibrate myself and optimize my combat abilities"

Gohan: (Nods) "That's fair, the first time I turned Super Saiyan I needed to get a handle on the new power too. Gravity Chamber is being used by Vegeta and Trunks so we'll have to use a different area. Bulma?"

Bulma: "Yeah I have another place you two can train in, follow me"

Gohan and 16 followed Bulma through Capsule Corp until the stopped at a reinforced metal door which led into a room with a lot of space and looked to have an odd texture on the walls, ceiling and floor as if it was covered in cling wrap?

Bulma: "This room is made of the strongest materials I can get and coated in a special shock spreading film to make the room even tougher. I'm not sure if it can take full power energy blasts but it should handle hand-to-hand well enough not to be damaged too badly"

Gohan: "Got it, no blasts. Anything else we should keep in mind?"

Bulma: "Mmmm, try not to throw each other through the door and that's about it"

Both Gohan and 16 looked at the door leading into the training room and saw that while the door was sturdy looking, it wasn't as reinforced as the rest of the room. Both of them nodded in understanding of the after seeing this Bulma smiled and walked away to let them train.

Gohan: "No blasts huh... reminds me of when I wanted to go to Namek. The test to see if I could go was a fight that didn't have blasts too. Although I think you'll be stronger than Krillin."

Android 16: "That is correct. So, shall we begin?"

Gohan: (Smile) "Yeah, let's do this"

Gohan started the fight going of a punch to the solar plexus only to have the fist caught by 16 and for the Android to push the hand back and advance with a punch of their own, Gohan responding by side-stepping the attack and punching 16's ribs. Gohan was then certain that raw power wasn't the answer when his punch only slightly budged the mechanical opponent.

Gohan: 'Uh oh'

Gohan stepped back in time to avoid being elbowed in the head, the Half-saiyan switching to more tricky style of combat, making use of Instant Transmission, the Yardrat Clone technique and the Solar Flare to compete against 16 without going Super Saiyan 2. This more technique-based fighting style was more successful against 16 than the more strength oriented Gohan used against his father during training, 16's greater power only allowing the machine to land strikes against clones and forcing Gohan to back off.

Andoid 16: "According to my scanners, my power output exceeds yours and yet I am unable to land a decisive blow. It appears that techniques are a major factor that allows for victory"

Gohan: "My friend Bansuri once said 'I'm sure you understand that fights are more than just raw power' after I trained to go to Namek. Power isn't as helpful if you can't make the most of it or outright use it up."

Android 16: "I see."

Gohan: "Want me to help you learn martial arts? Could be helpful to know"

Android 16: (Nods) "I would appreciate the instruction"

Gohan smiled and started guiding 16 through the stances and motions of Turtle School Martial Arts, offering corrections where necessary and praise when applicable. Bulma would later walk by the room and see through the door the two of them performing the movements and smile at the absurdity of a child teaching what looks to be an adult and how oddly heartwarming the scene was.

Trunks dodged his father's kick and countered with one of his own, the attack being blocked but sending Vegeta flying back and allowing the prince back on his feet with a roll. The two of them were in regular Super Saiyan trying to reach the same level of mastery over the form as Goku and Gohan, hoping to reach the mentioned Super Saiyan 2 and get strong enough to deal with Cell.

Vegeta: "And you're certain this is the way to get to Super Saiyan 2?"

Trunks: "From what Gohan told me, Super Saiyan needs to be as natural as your base form before you can transform to the next level"

Vegeta: "Since the first Super Saiyan transformation is from our natural state, I guess it makes sense to ascend beyond it is similar"

Trunks charged at his father, the 150 times gravity of the chamber adding a weight to the movement that would bolster the speed of the inhabitants of the Gravity Chamber when they leave. A series of jabs sent at his father were either blocked or redirected and countered with a kick to send Trunks backward. The two of them didn't use blasts because they didn't want to damage the chamber (and earn Bulma's wrath as she is the one that typically repairs it).

A series of punches, kicks, blocks and redirections made sounds reminicent of machine gun fire as father and son worked to sharpen their skills, Vegeta pushing harder in an attempt to empower himself so he could deal with Cell the next time he saw him and make up for his mistake and Trunks pushing harder so he could take down a tricky opponent before they could gain ground or escape, the latter done by Cell after goading him into a big blast.

The human z-fighters felt like they wouldn't be useful in the upcoming battle against Cell, Krillin pushing himself the hardest after failing Lapis and Lazuli and making it to Mastered Kaioken times 30 and unmastered at times 35 making him the strongest human in the world, Tien being the second strongest able to use Mastered Kaioken at times 25 and unmastered at times 30, Yamcha pushing to third strongest with Mastered at times 20 and unmastered at times 25 and Chiaotzu being the weakest at Mastered times 20 and unmastered times 22..All these impressive gains meant nothing in the face of the overwhelming power of Cell, forcing the humans to consider other options and techniques to deal with Cell.

Yamcha: "Maybe we could make a technique to paralyse Cell?"

Chiaotzu: "You mean my telekinesis? Because Cell's too strong for me to hold in place"

Yamcha: "Oh...Maybe the Evil Containment Wave could stop him?"

Tien: "While that technique would work regardless of power difference, King Piccolo proved that technique only puts off the problem to later."

Krillin: "Lapis and Lazuli are also inside Cell, I don't know if they're aware of things around them but locking them away with Cell wouldn't be fair"

Yamcha: "Oh...I don't think we have a way to get them out..."

Krillin: 'Get them out...wait.' "There was a technique on Yardrat that could apparently split people fused together...but none of us learned it and since it's an advanced technique I don't think anyone could learn it in time even if they teleported their and back..."

Tien: "In other words, our only choice is to wish Lapis and Lazuli back with everyone else Cell absorbed or Killed after Cell is dealt with"

Everyone looked somber at the realization that they basically had to wait and see, hoping that Goku, Gohan, Piccolo and/or Bansuri would be able to deal with the threat of Cell.

Bansuri erupted with an aura similar to Super Saiyan, his power ascending to new heights far beyond the enhancement gained by the highest level of Mastered Kaioken, Bansuri looking at himself realized that his skin had turned a light yellow and that the black patterns on his arms have disappeared. This was a new form gained from awakening the full potential of 5 Namekians in 1, Bansuri walking into the living area to look at himself in the mirror to inspect himself, noticing that aside from what he had already noticed, nothing else had really changed.

Bansuri: "Looks like appliying Guru's ability to all aspects of myself at once was the answer and not any specific order or combination. I think I'll get used to this form before seeing if I can use Kaioken with it. (Bansuri looks at the time and sees that he has a month left) Oh, guess combining it with Kaioken can wait until next time, I'll just focus on this form for now...What do I call it?"

Bansuri got a glass of water and drank it while thinking, taking a seat and looking thoughtful.

Bansuri: "Hmm...'Super Namekian'? No... 'Unleashed Form'?...'Awakened Form'...Yeah, Awakened Form works well and makes the most sense to me."

Bansuri finished his drink and set about meditating in his new Awakened Form, focusing on optimising the form to the best of his abilities in the time he has left in the chamber, the silence helping his focus a surprising amount. Will Bansuri have gained the power needed to deal with Cell? Will the Z-fighters be ready for the Cell Games when the time comes? Find out next time on Some Help.
