Chapter 10: Mending the Pieces

TURP: Indeed they will... now to deal with the fallout

killertyger26: Yeah, I wrote that part to show that Lincoln wasn't in the right state of mind and that his anger was out of control, now I doubt Lincoln would ever harm his sisters physically, he may say things that hurt their feelings, but Lincoln would never harm his sisters. So for him to break Lisa's arm in that moment, showed he was really not right in the head for that moment.

yami15147: What can I say, I like to torture my readers a little but thank you and I hope you enjoy today's chapter!

Mr png: Update this story or another?

Currently, Lincoln is in the hospital, and outside his room, looking in, were Taylor, Lisa, Lily, and the rest of the loud family.

"The Loud family, correct?"

Lynn Sr and Rita turned their heads to see a Doctor approaching them and they quickly walked over to him with furious nods.

"Doctor, tell me what happened to our son!" Lynn Sr asked.

The Doctor looked at them and sighed, "Unfortunately, we don't know ourselves," He said. "Whatever happened to Lincoln is something we've never seen before, but whatever happened seemed to stop and he's okay but, for the time being, he's knocked out and will need to be held overnight for his safety," The Doctor told them.

Rita nodded, "Thank you, Doctor," Rita said.

The doctor nodded, and he walked away.

After hearing this, Taylor's anger swelled up again, and she was so mad that they didn't know what happened to Lincoln. But she did remember his anger at Lisa, so she turned around and looked at her and glared at her, "What the hell did you do!?" Taylor asked.

Lisa, who now had her arm in a cast, looked at Taylor, but before she could speak, Lynn jumped in front of her and glared at Taylor.

"It's none of her business!" Lynn cried.

"Bullshit!" Taylor seethed "It is my business! Your obviously hiding something! Something that caused all of this! Lincoln's nightmares! THIS! What the hell happened!?"

"Nothing happened," Lisa chimed in.

"No... no... you're lying,"

They all turned to see that it was Lily who had spoken, she had tears welling up in her eyes and she looked angry yet scared.

Lily looked up at them with a glare, and then turned to Lisa, "He kept asking you what you did to him! he kept asking what you did to him! You're lying! You're lying!" Lily cried out

Hearing this, Taylor grabbed Lisa by the collar and pulled her closer, "Even Lily knows you did something! So what the hell did you do!?"

Lynn was about to interfere and start throwing fists, but Lucy grabbed her shoulder and stopped her.

Lynn was confused, "Lucy, what the-?"

"We can't hide it anymore," Lucy said, "Not anymore, and can we even after what happened today,"

"She's right," Lisa said. "This might have been inevitable, I knew this may have happened, I knew that Lincoln's "nightmares" were his memory resurfacing, however... him remembering slowly wouldn't have caused this,"

Taylor looked at her with a raised brow, "What do you mean?" She asked.

"A reaction like this was never supposed to happen if things proceeded naturally, its the forcing of remembering those memories, that caused his memories to hit in such a large wave that his mind couldn't handle it," Lisa said, "The brain was fighting itself on was questioning what was real,"

Hearing this, Taylor remembered what Lincoln had said to her.

"I-I don't... I can't... I-I... Is this real!?" Lincoln asked. "A-Are my memories of you even real...?" He asked.

Taylor glared at her, "What did you do exactly?" she asked.

Lisa looked at Taylor and breathed in deeply before exhaling and composing herself, "A long time ago, our family kicked out Lincoln for a long time because we believed him to be bad luck, but that wasn't true, however, we didn't believe that still, not until we convinced ourselves that he was good luck in a squirrel suit, so we had him stay in that suit for a long time," Lisa told him. "However, one day, he passed out in the suit and had a heat stroke, and after that, we took him out of the suit and let him live in the house again, outside of the suit, however... Lincoln had become depressed and... had been heavily thinking of killing himself," Lisa said.

"WHAT!?" Taylor cried with shock.

"The family was concerned, our parents were trying to decide what to do, but in order to save him from himself... I took it upon myself to find a solution," Lisa said.

"What did you do? What fucking solution did you find, that caused... this!?" Taylor asked.

"I created a machine that would wipe the Bad luck incident from his mind and I then replaced them with memories that I created, at the time, it was I who only knew about Lincoln's alternate memories, but the next day before Lincoln awoke, I informed the family and told them to act like everything was normal, which they agreed to in order to keep up the illusion," Lisa said, "The only one not a part of this was Lily, as she was too young to remember everything, so there was never a need to tell her," Lisa said.

Taylor let go of Lisa and backed away from the family with furious eyes. "You're all fucking monsters..." Taylor said, "What you did, what you've done! It's terrible! It's fucking terrible! Lincoln... Lincoln... Lincoln didn't deserve this! You don't deserve him! Not after what you've all done!" She cried.

Lynn stepped forward with a glare, "You're wrong!" Lynn cried.

"I'm wrong!?" Taylor cried, "What's wrong is that you kicked him out! Fucking made him wear a suit that nearly killed him! Fucking forced him to forget everything! You caused this! ALL OF YOU!" Taylor cried.

The family recoiled from her words and while they wanted to argue with her, they knew they couldn't. Taylor spoke the truth, the hard truth that they have been denying for years.

Taylor continued to glare at them, "Stay away from him... Stay away or I swear to god, I will tell everyone!" she seethed. "Believe me when I say this too, Lincoln will help me... because if you think you, any of you, can make this right... you're dead wrong," Taylor said.

"She's right," Lisa said.

The family looks at the genius with shocked looks.

Lisa didn't look at any of them but looked at Taylor. "We've done enough, let us leave," Lisa said as she turned around and walked away.

The rest of the loud family looked at her and they slowly turned around and followed her, their faces expression nothing but sadness as they left.

Once they left, Taylor entered Lincoln's room and sat next to Lincoln as he still was unconscious. As she looked at the boy she loved, she put her hand on his and held it tight, and tears began to fall from her eyes.

"I'm sorry..." She quietly sobbed. "It's my fault... I made you remember all that pain..."

"I-I'm not b-bad luck... I'm not bad luck... p-please... I-I'm scared..." Lincoln said as his eyes slowly began to close.

Taylor felt a pain in her chest and she continued to quietly sobbed, her tears falling on her and Lincoln's hands...

At the loud house and alone in her room, Lisa pulled out a video camera and set it up facing her before she pressed the record button and looked at it.

Lisa cleared her throat as she began to speak. "Perfection is not something a scientist should ever strive for, as there is no such thing as perfect in this world, and while it may sound cliché, it's the truth, which is why living beings evolve and adapt, many admire perfection, such as my older sister Lola, and those that admire it seek to obtain it, but I believe there's no point of obtaining perfection because if something perfect does exist... then there is nothing left," Lisa said. She then took a deep breath before continuing. "See, in a perfect world, there is no room for imagination, no place left for a person to gain additional knowledge or abilities, Perfection isn't a gift, but a curse, perfection brings about despair, and yet... I wanted it,"

Lisa stopped and took off her glasses before closing her eyes and pinching the bridge of her nose, once again taking a few deep breaths. It's only been a day since Lincoln entered the hospital, but she had not slept since, and despite what one may tell you, losing a night of sleep can truly affect you.

She was tired. Not just because of lack of sleep, but because of many other things around her and what was on her mind.

Lisa put her glasses back on and let out a long sigh before continuing, wanting to clear her mind with her recording.

"Despite what I said before, I too had wanted to keep something perfect," Lisa began. "Despite how I behave around my family and others, and what my family may think, I... truly do love them, I love them all dearly and wanted to keep them just the way they are, wanted to keep what I deemed the perfect family, sure there were ups and downs but we loved each other, cared deeply for each other, and we all cared deeply for our brother... to me, my brother Lincoln was perfect, like a beautiful glass vase, and yet, I helped create the cracks in his "perfect" being,"

Lisa stopped once again, taking a few deep breaths before continuing.

"I had helped in causing everything to fall apart with my brother and so, I believed that I could fix him, that I, in a sense, could simply put tape around the vase and keep it in its perfect shape... but the vase had finally broke, and there was no way of repairing it back to what it was," Lisa said, with a small sad chuckle. "Humans are indeed like glass, easy to break and can sometimes never be put back together, but glass can melt and be reformed into something better, and into a better version of itself, instead of putting tape on the vase and trying to make things seem like they were before, I should have simply tried to reform the vase, I should have instead sought help and..."

Lisa couldn't finish as tears formed and she quickly wiped them away, not wanting to cry as she had no reason to, in her opinion.

"I-I thought that I could fix everything, that everything could somehow be fixed with my own science and my inventions but... I should have known that it was impossible, that I-I couldn't simply fix my brother," Lisa sobbed, "I couldn't earn his forgiveness the right way and instead simply took the easy way out and now, and for that... I can never forgive myself nor can I ever be loved by him again,"

Lisa took off her glasses once again, looked away from the camera, and wiped more tears that were forming again. She took in a few deep breaths in order to calm herself, and once she was calmed, she put her glasses back on and looked back at the camera.

"Yet, despite knowing this... I will do everything to help Lincoln, to truly help him... no matter what," Lisa finished, before ending the recording.

Lisa grabbed the camera, set it next to her computer, and uploaded the video to her daily log library folder, after that, she set the camera aside and simply put her head down on her desk, wanting to sleep while trying to think of a way to help her brother, this time, in the right way...

Another day had passed and thankfully, Lincoln had woken up but was told to stay in the hospital for a third night and would be released tomorrow, which Taylor was both happy yet worried to hear. Of course, she was happy to hear that Lincoln would be released and there was no lasting damage to him but the reason she was worried was because she didn't want Lincoln to head back home, fearing that his sister would once again try to erase his memories or something else.

Currently, Taylor was at the park with Mikey, and that's when she also saw Lily seemingly waiting for him, however, she greeted Mikey before she walked over to Taylor, the older girl wondering what could be on the youngest Loud daughter's mind.

"Hi, Taylor," Lily greeted with a small smile.

Taylor softly smiled at Lily. "Hey, Lily," Taylor greeted back.

Lily then took a seat next to Taylor and seemed to be wanting to ask the older girl something, Taylor picked this up and looked at the young girl with a raised brow.

"What's up, Lily?" Taylor asked.

Lily's expression looked scared and worried as she looked at the teen girl. "Do... Do you hate me?" Lily asked.

Taylor was taken aback by Lily's question, but quickly gave her an answer, "No, Lily, I don't hate you, you've done nothing wrong," She told her.

"But you hate my family... for what they did to Lincoln?" She asked.

Taylor sighed, she didn't want to tell the young girl the truth, but Taylor knew better that kids know more than they let on. "I... I do," Taylor replied.

Lily nodded, "I-I don't really understand what Lisa did, but I... I know it hurt Lincoln, they really hurt him, because I-I've never seen Lincoln so angry at Lisa" Lily told Taylor. "I've never seen Lincoln so angry and... scary," Lily finished with a small shudder.

Taylor clearly saw that what had happened that day clearly affected Lily, of course, it would, and that entire event was terrifying. Taylor knew that before what happened, Lincoln never got too heated with his sisters, always being the voice of reason and keeping a level head, but what happened, what Lily had witnessed her brother do, Taylor knew that it shook the younger girl to the core.

"Lily, I'm so, so, sorry, that you had to see Lincoln like that," Taylor told Lily, "But please, don't be scared of him, he... a lot happened to him that day, and Lincoln just needs help,"

Lily looked to the ground with a sad expression, "Are... Are you going to help him?" Lily asked.

Taylor nodded slowly, "I am," She told her, "I promise that I'll help Lincoln for as long as she breathes,"

Lily looked back at the older girl, "Really?" she asked with a small hopeful expression.

Taylor softly smiled, "Yeah," She replied. "So for now, don't worry about it, ok? Go ahead and go play with Mikey, and leave everything to me, okay?" Taylor asked.

Lily smiled, and without warning, the youngest Loud hugged the teen girl before getting up from the bench and ran over to the playground to go play with Mikey and a couple of other kids.

Taylor was a bit surprised by the girl's hug but smiled as she watched the girl run and play with the other kids. However, when she left, another Loud took a seat next to Taylor, a certain loud sister whom Taylor was very angry at.

Taylor turned to them and glared, "What are you doing here?" Taylor asked with a furious tone.

Lisa didn't look at her but watched her sister play, "I just want you to listen, and once I've finished, you can punch me in the face if that is what you want, but please listen, it's important," Lisa told Taylor.

Taylor wanted to simply punch the young genius as soon as she looked at her, but she didn't want to get violent in front of Mikey and Lily. "Get to talking," Taylor demanded.

"Taylor, I want you to take Lincoln in for the time being," Lisa told him. "The Reason I want you to take him in, is because I know that Lincoln would want nothing to do with the family as of the moment and I can not blame him for that, and I can see just how much you love him, and from what I overheard from you conversing with Lily, I believe that right now, you are the person who can help him, who can do what we as his own family... failed to do," Lisa told her.

Taylor looked at her with a peered at her, "How does the rest of you're family feel about this?" Taylor asked.

"Don't worry about that, I have already dealt with that," Lisa said.

"I'd also have to talk to my mom about Lincoln staying with us," Taylor told Lisa.

"No need," Lisa replied, "I've informed her already of the current situation and why,"

Taylor was surprised by this, "You told her... everything?" Taylor asked, shocked.

Lisa shrugged, "As my older sister Lucy pointed out, there's no point in hiding it anymore," Lisa replied. "It's time that we all have to face the music," Lisa said

Taylor looked at Lisa, and couldn't really figure her out, the young genius remained blank and expressionless which felt off to Taylor. Not off in the sense of a bad vibe, but off in the sense that Taylor couldn't read the younger girl. "Why are you doing all of this?" Taylor asked.

Lisa finally turned away from watching Lily and looked at the teen next to her, her face still remained blank but when Taylor finally looked into the young girl's eyes, she saw sadness.

"I love my brother," Lisa said.

With that simple statement, Lisa got up and walked away as Taylor watched her leave, she couldn't help but feel a sense of pity for the genius...
