Sequel to Chapter 66 (InuMirSan, Museum Curation, Orange)

Inuyasha delivering her lunch had saved her a trip to the cafeteria, as well as waiting in line for her food and a table, so Sango was able to leave the gallery on time.

Miroku had offered to pick her up on his way home from the grocery store, but she hadn't wanted to chance him waiting in the parking lot and spoiling any of the frozen items in case she had run into overtime, so she'd told him she'd meet him at home.

As much as she loved her job, Sango knew how much time it took away from them spending time together, which was why she'd been working so much overtime lately. Now that the latest piece was hanging on the wall and all the paperwork had been filed, she could finally take some time off.

Double-checking the confirmation for their trip to an out-of-town onsen, she sent out a final schedule for the upcoming gallery to all the employees, then shut down her work computer and locked it in her desk.

She wasn't going to give anyone any reason to contact her over the next week and a half.

Sango almost skipped to their front door after getting off the bus, barely able to hold herself together. They hadn't been able to take a vacation together in years; their schedules had either refused to line up, or they just couldn't justify the expenses. But she already had three buyers on the line for five different pieces in the gallery, and Miroku had just finished a job for a city-funded playground.

It was time to celebrate.

She opened the door, kicking off her shoes and not bothering with her slippers, cutting off Miroku's welcome with an excited kiss. He smiled against her lips, taking his fill and leaving them both flushed and short of breath. "Not that I'm complaining, but is there a reason behind such an overzealous greeting?" he asked.

Ignoring his hand on her ass, she patted his cheek. "It was a good day."

"Didja manage to turn that painting into something worthwhile?" Inuyasha asked, leaning against the kitchen doorway.

She grinned at him over Miroku's shoulder. "Why? Were you wanting to buy it?" Inuyasha pretended to retch into his shirt before she slid up next to him, stealing another kiss. "Thanks again for lunch. It was delicious."

"Told you," Miroku said with a smile.

Inuyasha glared at him. "You also said it wouldn't have mattered if I had burned it."

"Was I wrong?" he asked, turning back to Sango.

"Of course not," she grinned.

Inuyasha threw his arms up in the air. "This is why you both suck with customer service," he grumbled. "You'd give them anything they wanted just to keep them happy."

The pair grabbed onto either arm, Miroku still grinning. "Ah, you are mistaken, dear Inuyasha."

Sango placed a finger on the hanyou's mouth to keep him from retorting. "We only do that for you."

Silver ears twitched, and he tried pulling his arms away, but their grip tightened. "Leggo! I gotta make dinner!" He finally managed to detangle himself, but not fast enough to avoid Miroku's hand on his ass, Sango joining in for good measure. Muffling curses under his breath, Inuyasha flipped them both off. "Now I'm gonna burn it on purpose."

"We'll still eat it," Sango said in a sing-song voice.

"Keh, fine. Get food poisoning, then."

She clicked her tongue. "Well, we can't chance that. Especially with all the travelling we'll be doing tomorrow." She planned on keeping it a secret until later but couldn't help herself, wanting to start the celebration earlier. The two males looked at her in confusion, and she pulled the paperwork out of her bag. "Everything's already planned. We leave at 8 am."

Miroku looked over the itinerary, wiggling his eyebrows at the mention of their one room and a king-sized bed. Inuyasha eyed the details, then crossed his arms. "You bringin' your laptop with you?"

She held up her bag, nothing but her empty lunch kit and a few grey clips inside. "Wouldn't be a vacation if I did." His shoulders visibly relaxed, and she placed the bag on the floor, wrapping her arms around his waist. "No work, I promise."

Inuyasha pursed his lips, then pressed their foreheads together. "If I see any emails, I'm throwing yer phone in the spring." Sango drew a cross over her heart, then pointed at some of the amenities and excursions they'd be going on.

They were so busy discussing the details it wasn't until the smoke detector went off that they remembered about dinner.
