Miss Queen B: Ugh, I'm so far behind on a lot of things, it's amazing I was able to finish this story...Notes:

Note One: Hey everyone, and no I'm not dead, I had to put my writing on the back burner for a bit during the summer and early Fall for other priorities, so it took me awhile to finish this chapter, but it's done and hopefully worth the wait. I'm really grateful for your patience, keep your fingers cross that it won't take me long to post my next story or one-shot I have lining up.

Note Two: Thank you for the reviews in the last chapter and all the music recommendations, you Readers are wonderful. I can't wait for the feedback for this one.

Note Three: So about this chapter: We get to meet Na Kika's children and to Gojira's dismay, there's some family drama. Second, Na Kika remembers the last conversation she had with Dagon which includes the news of Gojira's birth and lastly, in the present day, she spends time with Dagon's grandson for the first time.

Sorry for the long wait, here's the final chapter. Enjoy.

Although she started her family late in life, she was eager to have as many hatchlings as possible, but in the end, she was only able to produce one batch of eggs. Just one. Part of it was due to her age, while young in the heart, she was nearly at the end of her egg laying years and the other part was her mate's hesitation. He already sired heirs during his younger days and they were already grown and living their own lives and didn't think he had the strength to go through parenting again. Yet, when it came to her happiness, and the fact it was the only thing she asked for, he quickly changed his mind and she got pregnant not too long after their discussion. She ended up with four hatchlings out of a batch of twenty-five. It was truly a bittersweet memory.

She was alone when she laid her eggs and it wasn't because her mate didn't show interest. He was in hibernation and against his protest, she reassured him she would be fine during her pregnancy. Unfortunately, it was everything, but fine from what she can remember. There were complications during her Carrying times and the laying took longer than she thought, but she pulled it off with pride. Her batch was small and she blamed herself for that. If she was younger, no doubt, there would've been more eggs and she wasn't prepared for the endless days and nights of her staying up to watch over her little ones. Nature was cruel. Everyone knows that and even though it was "Normal" for her to lose some of her eggs from natural causes or hungry predators, it didn't make the hurt less painful. She nearly lost them all a day before their hatching time thanks to a horrible Root Kaiju. She didn't provoke him and he wasn't even hungry for eggs, he was just bored and in the mood to kill.

She hated that memory, but it wasn't exactly an easy thing to erase from her mind. It was a bad fight and even though she took a horrible beating and won, she only managed to save four of her eggs. The next day while recovering from her wounds, her three sons and daughter were born.

Motherhood was hard, but rewarding no less and even though her Hatchlings were grown and off to live their own lives, they all promised her they would meet up twice a year for a reunion. One with her and their Sire during the Warm Season and one with her during the Cold/hibernation time.

This year was different and she was so excited she couldn't stop smiling. She never thought she would live to see the day her Hatchlings would meet the lost son of her most dearest friend. Yet here they were meeting each other in a large field of polished rocks, coral and seaweed. Though there was some awkwardness. Her young ones were a bit stand-offish the second they saw Goji with her which made Goji distance himself with his guard up high. Her sons didn't even bother to approach her even when she flashed her happy blue colors.

She waved at her boys with a huge smile before turning her attention over to Goji. This is so exciting. She said with glee.

Gojira's eyes narrowed, Are you sure about that? From the looks of it, you're the only one happy here?

She giggled, Well, it's not every day I bring a guest with me to our family reunion and well, from the looks of my oldest son, he probably told the others about you.

Her sweet and darling, Amor. The oldest of her four hatchlings (the first one to hatch from her batch) and what her friends and Mate would call her Miniature Twin. A splitting image of her in every way, it was hard to tell them apart until one of them spoke. Despite being a half-breed, Amor could pass off as a normal-looking Octopus. He didn't get any of his Sire's traits as a species, but was one hundred percent of his Sire on the inside. Like her Mate, Amor was serious and firm and made sure while Levi was gone during hibernation, he kept his siblings in line. Levi taught Amor at an early age that being the oldest means he had a lot of responsibilities. Amor had a lot Pride and he adored his Sire and wanted to make him proud. He would drive his brothers and sister nuts with his Bossy ways, but Amor never let that bother him when they were young and even now as adults. Though letting him get away with a lot of stuff seems to have bit her in the rear now since he's been pressuring her to stay with him to look out for her. With her mate gone for half a year, he didn't like the fact she was alone, especially during the Fallen Star's reign. He wanted her safe like any responsible, caring Male would, he even got his mate and her grandhatchings involved to guilt her into living with him, but still she declined. She's been through so much and her Mate taught her well how to survive on her own so there was no need to be taken care of.

Goji sighed, And that usually means bad, so there's no reason for me to be here. He said, turning around to leave, only for her to grab him by tail.

Nonsense, you came all this way and I want you to meet my Hatchlings. She said, turning him back around before guiding him over to her Hatchlings. Feeling a bit of resistance coming from Goji's side. His eyes slightly bulged from being pushed to socialize with complete strangers.

Look, I agree to escort you to your family, that doesn't mean I have to interact with them. He said, stopping her from going any forward. At the corner of her eyes she could see Amor gearing up in case something goes wrong, showing off his distrust he has to anyone with sharp teeth. Her other two sons didn't move, but their eyes told her they would attack if Goji tried anything.

Still, her smile didn't fade. You shouldn't feel uncomfortable around them, my Dear, in fact, I would feel happy if you saw us as your family. Being an only hatchling, I'm sure you would love to have a few siblings to bond with.

He stared at her, slightly disturbed. That sounds so wrong even coming from you, Na Kika…

Oh, and why is that? She questioned, only to get interrupted by her middle son.

Mother, will you come over and say hi before Amor has a heart attack! Kama shouted while getting a small snicker from her youngest son, Erato.

Kama and Erato were considered twins in a way. They hatched hours after Amor and nearly at the same time with Erato coming out a few minutes after Kama and they've been side by side ever since. No mates yet, they were too carefree and wanted to explore their giant ocean world before settling down and she can respect that. They got their adventurous needs from her after all since she spent most of her youth exploring and finding beautiful treasures. They both got their Sire's eyes, a mixture of blood red and sunrise orange and even settled their colors to match his glittery scales. They ended up getting some of their Sire's looks unlike Amor. Though her species were known for their slimy, soft texture, both ended up growing an armor of scales that covered their entire body except around their suction cups. While the scales did provide them protection from other predators' bites and scratches (and expose their beautiful colors of blue and green) they weren't as flexible to stretch or fit in tight places like Amor. At first she thought their differences would cause a lot of stares or harassment from her Kind, but it was quite the opposite, their scaled armor fascinated them and brought a lot of attention from the females.

Her boys would fight a lot, like any siblings would and it was mostly due to Kama and Erato always getting on Amor's nerves for being so strict while they were fun and mischievous and Amor accusing her of playing favorites with his younger brothers. Still, they were close, they were there for each other when needed and would always make up easily after a fight. Amor may find his brothers annoying, but they do love each other…it was their sister they tend to have a problem with…

Which is probably why her one and only daughter wasn't around.

She sighed, There's nothing stopping you three from approaching us, you know. She said, giving her boys a sweet smile while waving at them to come over.

Kama and Erato wasted no time getting into Goji's face while Amor took his time while giving her a disappointing look and she knew why. Goji wasn't exactly a secret to her family. When they were little, she would tell them stories about her younger days including her time with her best friend, Dagon. The places they've seen, the Kaijus they had met and how much she truly adored him. Amor, being as smart as he is, didn't take long to figure out her true feelings she had for the lizard kaiju. When he was an adolescent, he even questioned her loyalty. If Dagon ever came back would she leave with him? Did she even love his Sire or just settle because Dagon left her for another female? What hurt the most was when he asked why she still thinks about him even after he abandoned her so many decades ago. Though at the time, they didn't know he was actually dead. In short, it was a very sore topic for her son and his opinion about Dagon grew even worse when she saved Goji's life. Amor pretty much told her, bringing Goji into her life would be a bad idea and very disrespectful towards his Sire. One thing she can't stand is when he brings Levi into the argument. Levi trusted her and she was true to her words during their courtship. The very second Levi mated her and claimed her as his, she could never love another male. To her, having Goji around wasn't like she was getting a part of Dagon back, she saw it as helping and showing support to a Dear Friend's hatchling who needs it.

So you're the famous Dagon, mother is always talking about? Kama said, while swimming around Goji for inspection. Even going as far as darkening his scales color to look more intimidating. Funny, I thought you would be…I don't know…older?

Annoyed, Goji was about to say something when he flinched from Erato touching his back plates. Do you not take care of yourself, your back plates are so weak and brittle…He even went as far as wiggling one,...and small. I thought lizard kaijus have big ones?

Well, they light up according to Mother, perhaps all that power made them weak. I mean look at all those cracks. Kama added.

Erato went right into Goji's face, getting an eye twitch from her lizard companion. When was the last time you cleaned your scales, do you know how much pest grows there if you don't check on them every once in a while.

Goji let out a small growl and glared at her. Na Kika…

My Darlings, please give him some space. He's not used to all the attention. She giggled.

We're just trying to figure out what the deal is, that's all? Kama said, while swimming over to her to give her a welcoming nuzzle on the forehead. You talk about him all the time, I thought he would look more superior.

Or dangerous like that three-head Thing that's been destroying the land and sky. Erato said, changing his scales to a bright gold just for fun.

Goji chuckled which surprised her and crossed his arms. I'm far more superior than those fools. He said, getting into Erato's face with a smug smirk. There's a reason they feel threatened by me.

Erato laughed and slapped Goji's back. Oh, I have a feeling you and I are going to be great friends, Dagon."

Before she could correct him, Amor swam up next to her. That's not Dagon, you idiots! That's the male's heir that mother won't leave alone.

Her sons floated back, finally giving Goji some breathing room, and changed their colors back to normal. Kama cleared his throat, Well, that would explain why he looks so young and a bit egotistic. I swear, give a male some special power and he thinks he's a gift to the world.

Erato chuckled and was down right giddy. Calm down, Kama. I think it's cool. Can you imagine having the ability to vaporize Kaijus and nature in your own body? It's like those Fire Demons Sire tried to kill for attacking Amor. Remember when he bit one of their armors and ended up burning the inside of his mouth due to their Lava Blood?

Oh, how can I forget that day? Amor really thought that was it for him. He really thought he was going to be a meal for hungry hatchlings. Kama added.

Amor huffed, Why are we talking about something that happened decades ago when we have more important issues to address. He shouted, turning his bright blue and purple colors into a darker shade.

She can tell Goji was getting annoyed and eager to leave, so she calmly patted Amor's head and cleared her throat. Boys, boys, stop it. We do have a guest afterall. She said, floating over to Goji to make sure he didn't wander off. He actually gave her a glare knowing she trapped him. She admired him nonetheless, if he really wanted to, he could just shove her away and leave, but he did respect her. Now, everyone, this is Gojira and Gojira these are my boys. She said, pointing at Kama.

Kama smirked, Kama, the adventurous one.

Erato, the fun-loving one. Erato greeted before all eyes rested on her oldest son.

Amor just fluttered his black fins in distress and wouldn't even smile. I'm Amor…

The dull and boring one. Kama said, underneath his breath. Amor didn't catch it, but she did and gave him a glare.

Gojira blinked. Well, this has been fun, but I need to go. He said, backing away from them again.

Gojira…She called out to him while following him.

Hey, where are you going? We're all family here. There's no need to leave. Erato shouted.

No offense, we're not family. I was just being nice by escorting Na Kika here. My good deed is done so farewell.

She rolled her eyes, knowing very well that was a lie. She told him back home, she didn't mind coming here alone since she's done it many, many times before, but he insisted on coming along anyway. Goji, you don't need to feel uncomfortable around them. If you trust me enough to be around you then you can trust my boys as well.

Mother, don't speak for all of us, please, we're not hatchlings anymore. Amor shouted.

Goji stopped and let out a small grumble. Lover-boy has a point. He doesn't want me around so why should I stay if it's going to cause tension.

My name is Amor, Lizard. Amor shouted back while still keeping a firm face.

Same thing. Goji replied before looking at her. Really, you named a male kaiju Amor? Do you have any idea what that means?

I do, hence why I named him that after he was born. Just like my other three hatchlings.

Something stumped him and he looked back while quietly counting to himself. Three? You mean Two right?

I know what I said, Goji. All four of my hatchlings have Love-related names.

Goji scratched his head, trying to figure out all the confusion. Ok, I'm probably going to regret asking this, but I'm lost here. I thought you only had three sons.

She lowered her head from the remark and wasn't sure how to explain his assumption. No, I have a daughter as well. She's just not here.

Goji snorted amusingly, Females, always running fashionably late.

Her boys looked at each other uneasily with Amor shaking his head from Goji's slight rudeness, but she couldn't blame him for wanting to make a sly joke. He didn't know the story. I wish that was the real reason, but no, I haven't seen her in over fifteen years. I'm not even sure if she's alive or not…

Probably one of her biggest failures in life. Even worse than leaving behind her home and family due to a long-going feud with her Sister: Losing her bond with her one and only daughter, Chanda. While her sons came out appearing like her, Chanda was the only Serpent-Lizard of the batch and apparently, one of the worst things that could happen to her daughter. While her brothers accepted being half-breeds, Chanda had a harder time adjusting to it, especially reaching adulthood. It was hard for her to connect with someone due to her Breed being so rare and would often swim alone while her brothers played around with other octopus hatchlings. The times she would play with other hatchlings, she would get rude glares and discomfort looks from other parents. Chanda was a sweet and kind hatchling, but they only saw her as a predator like her Sire, thus dangerous. She would hear sly jokes from others asking her what she would do if she woke up one day to find "Chanda eating Amor for a mid-night snack." Levi tried to show her around other Serpent-Lizards as she grew older, but that only made Chanda's self-loathing even worse.

She was just too gentle to fit in with her Sire's species. She didn't eat red meat or game; she grew up eating Shellfish and tiny fish like her brothers did and didn't have it in her to hunt no matter how hard Levi tried. Her peers were even worse when they found out she had an Octopus for a mother. Making cruel remarks about her Sire betraying their kind for loving something they consider a "Food Source." and would never accept something that wasn't a hundred percent predator. Of course all that changed when Chanda reached adulthood. While she didn't appear as an Octopus like her, she did inherit her beauty and grace. Chanda grew into a very beautiful mature kaiju with her bright blue eyes and vibrant colors she could change on her razor sharp scales. She was slim, flexible and smooth with back fins as soft as feathers. The final touch was the moonlight glow she can summon to give her body a more radiant look. The once ignored, "Not-good-enough," kaiju was soon bombarded by dozens of Suitors in an attempt to Court her. Dubbing her the newest "Jewel of the Sea" and one of the most beautiful things on the planet next to the Rare, immortal Moth kaiju Mosura.

Levi was quite pleased knowing his daughter was finally feeling a sense of worth she always wanted and even introduced her to a few males he thought were suitable, but Chanda would always decline. Chanda wanted a male to love her for more than her beauty and knew most of the males that were seeking her out weren't looking past her pretty, glowing scales. She tried so hard to be supportive, to be there for her daughter who was going through so much identical crisis and trying to find worth and connection with someone, but she didn't know how badly things were until it was too late.

The months leading up to Chanda's disappearance started out nice. A Suitor (another Serpent-Lizard) ended up catching her eyes and was gentlemale enough for Chanda to give him a chance to court her. For the first time, Chanda was happy and in love and to her that was one of the best feelings to see your hatchling in especially since Chanda was the last one of the four to get herself going in life. Amor already settled down with his own family and the twins were out to explore the world and all Chanda wanted was to meet the love of her life. As silly as that sounds, she was young and hopefully romantic like her. Chanda fell hard for the Suitor and Levi already gave the male his blessing to propose till tragic hit.

She wasn't there when it happened, she and Levi were enjoying each other's company while waiting for their Adult Hatchings to arrive for the yearly reunion when Kama came out of nowhere to alert them that something terrible happened. According to Kama, he and Erato were on their way to their Meet-up spot when they were ambushed by a Serpent-Lizard, while they were both young and strong, it was a surprise attack and the male ended up knocking out Erato leaving only him to defend himself and his brother. What made it worse, it turned out the Male was actually Chanda's Suitor who was trying to kill him for a Courting Gift. The noise ended up summoning Chanda and she was horrified to see the Suitor attacking her siblings. She tried to stop him, leaving the Suitor stunned when he realized they were siblings and ended up calling Chanda a Freak. Kama said that was when Chanda snapped. Her sweet and gentle daughter ended up killing the Suitor in a fit of frustrating rage while he watched in horror. Once it was done, Chanda took one look at the body, disgusted and horrified for what she did before looking over at Kama. Before he could say anything or tried to comfort her, she took off without a word. Disappearing without a trace.

She took it really hard, but not as hard as Levi did. The guilt of knowing he didn't do enough to help his daughter or even protect his sons shut him down completely and he spent the next decade searching for her with no avail. Chanda was just gone.

A small suspicious hum escaped Goji's mouth and took a good look at her boys. No, she's alive.

She jerked from the sudden answer, What? How would you know, you didn't even know I had a daughter.

Goji slowly pointed at Kama and Erato, I'm going by a hunch, but telling by the nervous looks on your Brats' faces when you brought up your daughter, I think they know and the fact that I can smell fresh wounds on Love Squid over there, I have a feeling he had a bad encounter with her before meeting you here.

Oooh, he called you a Squid, Amor. Kama laughed only to get smack upside the head by Amor.

The tentacle he used to hit Kama had a very familiar bite mark on it, a fresh one no less, there was still blood seeping out of it. Stunned to the point her heart skipped a beat, she stared at Amor with wide eyes. Amor…did…did you encounter Chanda?

Everyone stared at the young male who quickly hid his tentacle from her. Mother…

Her colors turned red, Don't even deny it. I lost count how many times Chanda bit you growing up, I know her teeth marks anywhere.

We were going to tell you, since this is our family business, but everyone got distracted by the rude guest you brought. He said, while pointing at Gojira.

Gojira rolled his eyes, Oh shocker, when something goes wrong, I'm the one to blame.

Nobody is blaming you, Gojira. She defended before turning back to Amor. So she's alive and here!

Amor nodded, Yes, she's alive, a whiny brat as usual, but alive. He said, deadpanned.

She was livid, Ok, so where is she? Why isn't she here? Did you tell her not to come!

Amor sighed, Mother, she only came out of hiding just to ask me if everyone is doing ok. The whole Fallen Star creature has her spooked knowing a lot of kiajus were dying by them. I told her to suck it up and come see you, but she refused. We ended up getting into a big fight after that…

It wasn't unusual for Amor and Chanda to fight despite her being a female. She had razor scales and sharp teeth and knew how to use them when backed into a corner. Not that would scare Amor, with eight limbs and strong muscles, she lost count how many times she would find Chanda in a tight choke hold.

Where is she? She demanded, trying hard not to panic. She needed to stay calm since this was a very delicate situation.

She's still around. After she bit me, I sprayed ink into her eyes in order to escape, so I doubt she's going anywhere-

I have to find her. She might be hurt. She said, looking over at Gojira.

Um, I'm the one who got bit here, mother. Amor said, showing her his wound.

Erato looked at him funny. She tore off one of your limbs when we were young and you're crying over that?

Kama rolled his eyes, Mother, are you sure that's a good idea? I mean, it's been years.

That's your sister and if your Sire was here, he would agree with me. She said, before turning to Gojira. I want you to go with me.

Gojira floated back. What? Why?

Because you said you will escort me wherever I go and I'm going to search for my daughter.

Amor scoffed, Mother, she doesn't want to see you. She doesn't want to see anyone. I know this is hard to understand, but she left the family.

She was just lost and confused and I wasn't there for her when she needed me the most, so I have to be there for her now. I can't lose her again. She said, before giving her son a firm face. Now where is she?

Erato and Kama stared at Amor, who just shook his head and pointed in the direction behind him. About three miles that way. I left her in a field of seaweed. I'm pretty sure she's still trying to wipe the ink from her eyes.

Alright, you three wait here. I'm going to bring her back. She said, before tugging on Gojira's arm to follow her. Gojira gave her a loud, annoying grunt while getting weird looks from her sons.

Why do we have to wait while the lizard gets to go? Kama asked, slightly offended.

I don't need to explain myself now, wait while I bring Chanda back. She said, swimming away while Gojira followed her grudgingly. He wanted to say something, but from the looks of it, he was waiting til they were out of hearing from her sons.

So what's the plan? Are you just going to force her to come back and play happy family? He asked in a very snarky way.

She slowed down her swimming and let out a sad sigh. Honestly, I don't know…she's been gone for so long…what can I say? I'm not sure if I should even be mad at her or not for leaving. I mean, there was a lot of burden, confusion and shame in her, I just never thought she would disappear like that. She whispered, sadly, while letting all her bright colors slowly fade.

Hey, hey, hey, I can't have you get all sad and dull on me. We don't need two emotionally unavailable kaijus in one spot. He said, dully.

If that was your attempt to cheer me up, you did a very poor job.

I wasn't trying to. I just don't like dealing with sad kaijus. He said in disgust. It's very uncomfortable. When she frowned again, Goji rolled his eyes and huffed. So why did she run away in the first place?

She can still remember the last time she saw Chanda. As beautiful and radiant and so in love with a very honorable Suitor. Her bright blue eyes were shining so bright, they were almost crystal clear and she was trying to figure out what color scales she wanted to try in order to impress the young male. Chanda was lucky to inherit her camouflage trait like her brothers and even master the skill to turn invisible which was probably the only thing she was proud to show off. She always went with a mixture of purple and green, a nice blend of hers and Levi's colors, but decided to try a pure white with purple highlights in order to stand out. The Suitor was solid black like night so she wanted to be his light like the glow of the moon. She was so happy, she finally found someone who loved her despite being a half-breed. Chanda couldn't wait to bring the Suitor to their reunion to meet the family, even Levi was maturely eager for her to meet the male that put a smile on Chanda's face.

But it never happened…(I'll be back soon…) was the last thing Chanda said to her.

Unlike my sons, my daughter Chanda was born different…

The word "different" was enough to make Goji understand where she was going with this and even soften his face a little. Hmm, how differently are we talking about? I mean, your other adult brats seem alright being half-breeds.

It was easy for them since we're a harmless species…she, on the other claw, came out a full serpent-lizard like Levi. growing up she was so sweet and caring, she didn't even act like a Predator, but that didn't matter to friendly kaijus. When they see sharp teeth that's their sign to grab their little ones and run. It was even worse with Levi's kind, they just didn't accept her for being…her.

Yeah, look, no offense to you, while it's frowned upon to mate with someone outside of your species, it's unheard of for a Predator to love something they would prey on let alone breed with them.

You love Mosura, don't you? She asked, trying to poke holes in her Foster Son's logic.

He didn't even flinch from her question. As if he knew she was going to point that out. She knew the risk, like I'm sure you did when you got together with your mate. I'm sure he knew what was going to happen when your daughter was born. Predators are ruthless kaijus, we have to kill in order to eat so we can't put a lot of personal emotions in it. Mosura had to accept that, but I would still have to leave her behind to hunt. She can't stop me, but she won't watch me kill. I'm sure it was hard for your daughter not to be able to find somewhere to belong. How could she be what nature made her to be when having brothers and a mother like you around? If I saw her at first glance not knowing who she was, I would see her as Weak.

I see, just like how everyone saw you as a "Freak." I would hear Chanda call herself that many, many times before lashing out on me for not understanding her pain. It was so hard to see her struggle trying to figure herself out.

Goji snorted, Yeah, I know the feeling…He then stared out at the wide open ocean around them. So, was that the reason she ran away?

She slowly shook her head, No, Chanda actually found a Suitor that looked past her half-breed status. A nice serpent-lizard like her and she was so in love. She thought she found someone that would love her for her inner beauty…She trailed off a bit. After so many years, just like so many that she loved left her life, she had to tune Chanda out in order to keep her sanity. Only remembering her and the heartache whenever she stares up at the moonlight or sees the sad look on Levi's face.

So what happened? Goji asked.

The Suitor ended up attacking her brothers, Kama and Erato. Apparently, Chanda lied, she never told the Suitor she was a half-breed and had siblings that were Octopuses, so the Suitor thought Kama would make a nice courting gift for her. When Chanda got between them, the Suitor was appalled, calling her a freak for being different and she ended up killing the poor male in order to save her life and her brothers. She disappeared after that.

Goji didn't react like she thought he would, but again, he was a kaiju with sharp teeth. Was that the first time she killed someone of her own Kind?

Probably the first time she actually killed something that wasn't little fish or calms.

She was lucky she wasn't part of a Pack like I was. Killing one of your own is normally punished by death or banishment. I should know, that was a great changing point in my young life and all because some stupid bitch thought it would be funny to sick her Betrothal on me.

That must've been horrible. She said, trying to show support. She knew Goji left his Pack in order to get away from Apollo, but never knew what was his breaking point.

Yeah, it was...for the first few years till I met my Companion. He said, still trying to keep a firm face, but the mention of his Companion put a little sadness and regret in his eyes. Look, I know you want to bring your Daughter back, but after all this time, do you honestly think she wants to see any of you?

She wanted to know how we were all doing…that's enough for me to know she still thinks about us

I'll give you that, but she was about to disappear again till your son got in the way. I don't think forcing her is going to be a great solution.

I'm not going to force her. What Amor did…was not the greatest idea, but his heart was in the right place. I know he was just as devastated as we were when he found out she ran away. I'm sure if I talk to her, maybe she won't leave me again.

Na Kika, sometimes Kiajus like her...just want to be left alone. Goji said, looking away in order not to offend her.

Kaijus like her? What do you mean?

You know exactly what I mean…look at me…He trailed off, letting his plates glow dully to prove a point.

You felt alone all your life, Gojira, could you really look me in the eye and tell me you were happy? That life would be better if your Companion or Mosura didn't take time to get to know you and get you to open up to them.

I grew up ignored, and even when I had my Companion around, that didn't change much. Ang was welcome, I was lucky enough to be included as long as I kept my distance. After getting so many negative reactions, it was easier for me just to keep for myself. To be alone instead of getting ridiculed all the time. My Companion got a lot of heat from his other friend. Always telling Ang to ditch me because "He's making us look bad." As for Mosura, she lost a few companions because of me. I'm sure you and your sons lost some friends and respect for having your mate and daughter around.

I did, but that's life. I lost a lot of kaijus I thought were family, but I don't want history to repeat itself. I ran away from my family after getting betrayed by my sister and never went back. Even after so many centuries, I still regret doing that. Not really one of my finest moments and I don't want her to make the same mistakes like I did.

Mistakes? Which mistakes? Running away from family, being out there all alone, or getting involved with the wrong male?

The first two. Like I said, I regret never going back to my old home. The only time I did was because Dagon thought it was a good idea only to regret it after meeting my sister. She said, getting an eye roll from Gojira and she playfully tapped his cheek. And like I said before, I don't regret meeting your Sire or the years we were together. I have you…it's like my other long-lost hatchling is finally home.

He snorted and pulled her tentacle away from his cheek. Please stop saying that.

Saying what? She asked.

Look I don't know what you said to your Brats, but I'm not family. Trust me, my mother's friend tried to pull this whole "Motherly" thing on me growing up and it didn't work. It was just a chore to her in favor of my mother. I'm sure she despised me just like everyone else that knew my mother.

How Dagon's pack felt about you has nothing to do with me and my own feelings. Have I not proven that to you, Goji? I don't see you as a Freak just like I don't see Chanda that way either. I just see you and I love you.

He grumbled, That's because you're so pushy. Even after your daughter ran away and told your son she didn't want to see you, you still insist on being there for her. It's not like she's a lost hatchling. She's a grown adult and if she's been gone all these years, most likely she doesn't want to come back.

You pushed me away, called me awful things and yet here you are? Sure I was the one who said I would love it if you visit me more, but you didn't have to do it. You can live on land, so there's no way for me to track you down.

Well, I wouldn't feel right not seeing you again since you helped me out in a bad situation…and because you knew about my Sire more than anyone in his Pack. He said, looking away. A weird thing he would do when trying to show compassion…but that whole "love" thing needs to stop.

But it's true. She said, calmly.

You barely even know me. All you're seeing is my Sire. I'm actually surprised you don't hate me for existing like so many others do.

Funny, I used to get that from Chanda during our little spats. She really thought if she came out like her brothers I would love her more. She really thought I didn't love her that much because of her struggles. You two are so alike, Goji, so why would I hate you for being here?

Oh come on, you know why? Do you really want me to say it?

She blinked. What? That I should be bitter about you and Shri for bringing happiness into your Sire's life. That's not how love works, Goji. I love your Sire so much that the only thing that mattered to me was his happiness, even when it wasn't with me. How could I be bitter and hateful towards you? The moment Dagon told me about you, I couldn't wait to hold your tiny self in my arms. Dagon wanted me in your life because he knew what an impact I would be to you just like I was to him…

Though at first, it was hard, she didn't think she would react the way she did after hearing about his birth…

~Cool by Gwen Stefani

At her age, she was thankful to having a very good upbringing. Her Foster Mother/Friend made sure of that with a lot of love and discipline. The result was her growing up into a fine, beautiful and very mature young female. She was never the jealous type, she would never curse or wish ill-will on another kaiju or throw tantrums when things didn't go her way. Perhaps the main reason she was able to leave her home without causing a mess after she found out about her sister and the Shark Kaiju she loved way back then. Any other female would have torn her sister apart for sleeping with a male that was clearly interested in another, but not her. Life was simply testing her for a reaction and in her heart, she did the right thing by leaving instead of fighting for an unfaithful male and for her reward, she started a new life and found a new love.

Or so she thought…

It felt like life was testing her again, only this time, she didn't have much confidence for a good outcome…at least on her part. The male she loved, the one she trusted the most and considered her very best friend, was in love with another female…and the worst part, she saw it coming, but didn't have the heart, selfishness or that deviousness to stop it. How could she? It wasn't like Shri was trying to break her or Dagon apart, she was just part of Dagon's very little inner circle and fitted Dagon's criteria better than her. While Dagon saw her beauty and gentle heart and constantly reminded her how much he "Value" her, he was very old-fashioned. He has nothing against other kaijus, he just prefers females of his own species. Interspecies relationships were still very rare in her generation with her being dubbed as "One of Those" kaijus. It was truly bittersweet and humorous when she thought about it. Dagon didn't care (often joked about it) about her choices of males, but can't seem to look past her not being a lizard kaiju….

She fluttered her black fins to calm her nerves and tried to relax in the warm water thanks to the bright morning sun. Letting the gentle currents push her wherever they wanted her to go. She was a mess even though she hid it very well. After Dagon confessed to her about his feelings for Shri, he took off in order to think. She thought he was going to be gone all night, but came back after a few hours in order to escort Shri home. It was still the middle of the night, they could easily sneak back to the pack without anyone noticing, but before he left, he gave her his plan. Despite his feelings, he didn't want any more conflict with Apollo and decided once he was sure Shri was safe at home and asleep, he was going to leave for good. Of course she protested his decision, knowing very well he'll regret it, but he said it was the right thing to do. Apollo was already on edge with him over a lot of things and didn't want to make things worse and he definitely didn't want Shri to choose being with him or the family Pack she grew up with. He knows very well what life is like being a Loner and Shunned. While it's hard for a male to make it out there by himself, it's pretty much a death sentence for a female.

She wanted to argue, but Dagon clearly made up his mind so instead told him she'll wait for his return. Sadly it didn't go according to plan…Dagon didn't share all the details, but when he tried to leave Shri stopped him then one thing led to another and it didn't take a genius to figure out what those two did. A couple of months later, Shri realized she was Carrying…

She blinked, letting the rays of the sun and Shri's voice bring her back to the present time. It's been months now since her world was turned upside down and it seems like the one kaiju she cared about was moving on in life with her following him or not.

I wish he'd hurry up with the food, I'm getting really hungry. Shri said, tiredly while shifting a bit to her side to get more comfortable.

Sitting in her favorite spot on the shoreline, her eyes trailed over the warm, moist sand and stopped directly on Shri's swollen belly. How are you feeling today? Any pain? She asked.

Shri shook her head, No pain yet, just discomfort. I'm really hoping I'm carrying two eggs instead of one. She said with a slight chuckle.

Oh? Do you want a large family?

No, because there's no way one egg could feel this heavy and big. I don't get it, all my other female companions had easy pregnancies, so why is mine different?

She frowned, Mating season was in bloom once again so, she was left watching others start families while she was still single and aging. The last time she counted, she was already reaching her six hundred year of life. While still young in a way, her kind were known to live up to a thousand years, but at her age her young ones should be having young ones of their own. And listening to Shri talk about her pregnancy's woes wasn't exactly helping her depression. Part of her wish Dagon didn't beg her to help out with this, but she took pity on him (and her) since this was their first time being parents. Still, it hurt. She lost count how many times she would have to put a fake smile on her face every time seeing Shri and her expanding stomach. The way Dagon would pamper her and make sure she was safe and in good health. They were around a lot more, Dagon made sure not to let Shri out of his sight unless it was her watching over since he feared Apollo might do something in Shri's most vulnerable moment.

Speaking of eggs, Echo's egg hatched yesterday…Shri said, with a disappointed look on her face.

Luckily, Apollo has been keeping his distance due to a surprising Expectation thanks to Echo coming forward. He really didn't have a leg to stand off accusing Shri for being a lying cheating female knowing he was playing around with Echo and got her pregnant way before Shri was showing signs. Instead of kicking out or killing the poor female for outing his sneaking trysts, he decided to use her to give him the Heir he wanted to have to Shri. Making Echo out to be a "Second-Grade Sap" as Dagon would put it.

She raised a brow, Why do you look upset?

I'm not upset, I just feel…sorry for her. She had a female…Apollo took one look at the hatchling and just turned around and walked away. The male's pride is so hard in that one, he can't even love his Heir because it wasn't a male.

And how is Echo? Is she at least happy?

Dagon never respected Echo as a Pack member or even as a lizard kaiju. He couldn't stand how desperate and pitiful she would be just to get attention and after setting her sights on Apollo, he wasn't surprised by the terrible outcome. Apollo didn't treat her well, more like property instead of a mate and seemed to only like her because she worshiped him and now, from the sound of it, she was on her own raising her hatchling.

I can't really tell…I'm just going by what my friend Jaya told me since Echo doesn't want me near her, but Jaya said she pretty much zoned out after Apollo left. Alas, once she snapped out of it, she started making up excuses for Apollo's behavior. Like "he just needs time to adjust", "Once he sees how strong and worthy Nyx is, he will love her as his Heir" and so on and so on.

Nyx…interesting name…She said, just to sound nice.

Shri shrugged and sat up to breathe a little better. She let out an exhausting huff, Oh kaiju, I swear this egg is sucking the life out of me. Shri whispered, winded from just sitting up. Yeah, Echo thought a dark name would make her sound powerful for Apollo.

Not really a name I would pick for a hatchling, I would have used a more "Softer" name. She said, dreaming of the day she would finally lay eggs and naming them once they hatched.

Oh? Like what? Shri asked, with a smile. A smile that read I'm curious and not in a smug way other females would do to childless females.

She blushed, letting her thoughts of what her hatchlings would look like cloud her mind. She can only imagine the colors they would inherit from her and the bright beautiful blue eyes. She wanted girls, part of her felt like she wouldn't know the first thing about handling boys since they were so rough and energetic. Dealing with Dagon during their decades of friendship was proof of that, especially if her sons took after their Sire. She nearly hiccupped from the little daydream. Who would be the Sire? For decades, she shamelessly imagined it would be Dagon she would start a family with like any female would think from being in love. It was just her being silly and hoping that day would come, but now…

She stared at Shri's belly again and felt a lot of shame. She can't have those thoughts anymore. Dagon was taken now and was about to be a Sire for the first time. Those dreams of him giving his heart to her and starting a beautiful family and life were long gone now.

I always like the name Amor. She said, smiling. A beautiful name that means Love because she was sure her hatchlings would be Sired out of Love and a gift to give to the male she loves.

Sounds a little too Soft in my opinion though I'm sure that's suitable for your Kind. Shri said, tiredly.

We are known for our colorful transitions and wisdom, so it would fit perfectly. Her eyes trailed back to Shri's belly. So what are you hoping for?

Shri chuckled, sounding a bit winded. I honestly don't care…I'm more worried about Dagon. He seems…a little scared.

Any first-time parents would be scared. She said, in defense.

It's not that. I'm sure he told you long ago why he never wanted hatchlings…

Yes, but that shouldn't stop him from loving the Hatchling. He was just afraid of all the backlash they might endure just like he did. He was very well loved by everyone in his old Pack until his powers started showing.

Well, if this hatchling does end up like his Sire, it will be different. Dagon will be here to show him the way and be proud of being so rare. Shri said, placing her claws on her belly.

She smiled, resisting the urge to touch the large belly herself, and started to play with the muddy sand instead. So have you thought of any names yet?

I already told Dagon if we have a female I want to name her after my mother, but I haven't thought of anything yet if it's a male. All I know, he doesn't want his Heir named after him. He said he doesn't want his son to live in his shadow. He has this sense that his Heir is going to do great things in life….

The next time Dagon came to see her, it was a few days after Shri's egg arrived. One egg to be precise, one huge egg that left Shri with complications. Apparently the egg laying was difficult and messy. Shri bled a lot due to how large the egg was and nearly lost consciousness if it wasn't for Dagon's quick thinking. Dagon gave her a boost of strength by gently spraying some of his blue radiation on her. After a day of sleeping, she recovered very quickly and spent most of her days resting next to the egg. The visit was short though. He didn't even stay for the whole day let alone a couple of hours before leaving her again. He really couldn't stay long, despite Apollo moving on with his own Heir, there was still tension in the air and he didn't want to leave Shri alone too long. Then he was gone once again. Promising to come back when he had some free time.

She can still remember their last day together…even right down to the cool colors of the water, a mixture of greens and blues and how calm and smooth the currents were. She was searching for a late evening snack when Dagon appeared behind her. She didn't even have to flinch from sensing him coming near. His bright light was a dead give away and Dagon whispering her name wasn't the brightest or sneakiest thing to do. She didn't bother to look at him, it's been months since his last visit and she was sure he was aware how upset she was.

The evening is nice and warm…do you care to go for a Float? He asked as gently as possible.

Picking up a clam she found, she turned around and threw it in his face. It harmlessly bounced off his forehead before tumbling down into the sand. Dagon huffed, creating little bubbles before swimming closer to her. I know, I know, you're upset with me.

Can you blame me? She asked, turning away from him again. She didn't want him to see just how upset she was. He thinks it's out of anger, but really, she was more hurt than ever. She knew that sounded selfish, he had other priorities, but she couldn't help the way she feels. I hardly see you anymore…

And I do apologize for that Na Kika, but come on, it's not like before where I would leave just to go exploring or get into some kind of mischief. I needed to be there for Shri.

She wanted to point out that he was also an Alpha for a growing Pack, but like always, that Title didn't faze him. All he saw was protecting his Mate and egg, so instead she just lowered her head, feeling a great wash of shame and sadness, and said nothing. It felt like if she said something, she might crack from stress she's been bottling up for months. Her face suddenly felt a soft nudge by Dagon's snout followed by him nuzzling her face. She wanted to pull away, but it's been so long since Dagon showed some sort of affection towards her, she instantly reciprocated by nuzzling back. And to think, she used to be so shy whenever he'd hug, hold or kiss her face or push him away and now it was a rare and somewhat a forbidden thing since he was taken. She blushed, any ruly male would take advantage of her vulnerability, but Dagon wasn't nuzzling her for that. He was just showing her how Sorry he was for brushing her off for months.

Let's go for a Float, I have some great news. He pleaded again while pointing up to the surface.

She sighed before giving him a light nod. Alright, but just for a bit.

Although happy to go along with it at first, it wasn't till her head popped out of the water to see Dagon floating on his back when she started to feel tense. Normally, she would rest on top of him with her face right above his heartbeat while he talked and talked about what he did all day, but the thought of getting close to him like that again…knowing at night he would be cuddling up with another female. Nuzzling and touching her with the same caress he used to give her during his playful moods…

Is something wrong? Dagon asked, looking at her with those golden eyes. They slowly turn bright blue due to him making his plates glow for a more relaxing environment. She swallowed and quickly shook her head before letting her tentacles latch on to the far side of his stomach to help pull herself up and out of the water. Dagon laughed, causing his body to wiggle violently. Na Kika, easy on the suction cups.

Her heart was pounding while she adjusted herself to get comfort, literally lying on top of him while letting her tentacles take over. They needed to wrap themselves around something in order for her to stay put, so one curled around his tail while two more wrapped around his leg and arm. While she was doing this, Dagon waited patiently with a smug look on his face, going as far as showing off his sharp teeth. She could feel her face burning up from the staring before finally settling down. Facing him with her complete and undivided attention, she spoke. Alright, so what's the news? Did Apollo disappear? Oh, and how is Shri doing with the egg?

He smiled. She's fine, happy and getting her strength back. The egg hatched yesterday. Congratulate me, Na Kika, I'm now a Sire to a boy. He said, excitedly before pulling her in for a big hug.

The sudden hug instantly choked back the happy squeal and congratulation she wanted to shout. She tried not to show it, but her colors started to change, going from blue and purple to a bright blend of reds and pinks. He was hugging her really tight to the point the tips of his claws and the scales on his neck were slightly digging into her flesh. He smelled so good and he was so warm due to all that radiation and her whole body went limp.

Dense as always, Dagon continued. Shri named him Gojira and he's quite big for a newborn, but healthy. His roar is so loud, I never heard of a pair of lungs like that before. He's perfect, Na Kika…

(Gojira) She couldn't help, but smile from his word, trying so hard not to break this shell she had to put on in order to support her best friend. It wasn't till he said: I can't wait for you to meet him, when she felt something cracking. Could she really be fine with that? Could she really keep a straight face with Dagon bringing his beautiful newborn over to her to see and bond with. It took everything in her power not to shut down every time she had to talk to Shri with that pregnant belly knowing she was basically watching the female live the life she so badly wanted with the male she loved for so long. Dagon pushes her back a bit, so he can rest his forehead on hers. He was still grinning like any proud newbie Sire, I really can't wait. If he's anything like me, he'll Value you just as much as I do.

Something snapped inside and everything froze.

He slowly pulled away when he spotted a single tear rolling down her eye. Are you crying?

She jerked and quickly wiped her face. No, don't be silly, that's just leftover water.

Really? He asked, not buying it, Then why did you freak out about it instead of laughing it off? What's the matter, I thought you'd be squealing with joy? I lost count how many times you would jump in excitement after seeing newborns?

Nothing, it's nothing really…She shifted, causing him to chuckle from the sudden tickle and she cringed. Oh kaiju, I need to get off of you! She shouted before sliding her way back into the ocean, feeling embarrassed and hurt and angry at herself for sounding so selfish.

What the hell, Na Kika? What do you mean you need to get off of me? You always love to float on my stomach?

She stared at him, taking in his handsome glow and feeling all the love and admiration coming back after trying so hard to bury it within her. She can't feel those feelings for him anymore, he had a beautiful mate waiting for him and an newborn hatchling. I do…but…you shouldn't…I mean…I shouldn't…

He turned over, looking more annoyed than ever, Na Kika, just spit it out while there's still a little sunset left.

She took a deep breath, trying to find the right words that won't offend him. Sorry, it's just that…I'm not sure if this is…appropriate…There she said.

He raised an eyebrow, stunned by her words which surprised her then tried to shoo off the awkwardness with a light chuckle. What are you talking about? You would always rest on top of my stomach while we float around. Is it my belly? I mean I know I gain a bit for not swimming around as much as I use too, but-

It's not that, Dagaon…She said, lowering herself into the water. Feeling like a shy, love-sick adolescent again. Not as bad as when they tried to have sex for the first time, but it was up there in her list of embarrassing moments. I don't think we should get that...close…I mean…Shri…she's home with your newborn…

His face dropped, reading between the lines, Really, Na Kika. I have great news I wanted to share with my best friend and you want to spoil the vibe with a weird allegation. It's just the two of us. I've asked because we haven't floated around and talked and I know this would cheer you up after upsetting you…

I know, but things are different now and-

And you thought I was that type of male? Granted, sure, I've been with a lot of females in my past, but I would never do that to Shri or put you in some uncomfortable position.

Well, I am uncomfortable, Okay. She stammered, looking away from him. More tears were forming and she didn't want him to see it.

Why? Because you were lying on my stomach. You think that's some form of betrayal to Shri? Give her some credit, she's thinks you're a wonderful kaiju to have as a companion, she would never-

She closed her eyes, wishing he would go away. I am not wonderful, Dagon, she shouldn't feel that way about me and you shouldn't say you Value me because it's just going to make things worse. I don't feel right having you so close and you shouldn't either.

Oh fuck Na Kika, you're not making any sense. What the hell are you trying to say? What's wrong with Shri liking you? Are you telling me you don't like her-

No, it's not that…She somewhat lied. She likes Shri, she wouldn't hurt Dagon, but that was the same reason she couldn't stand Shri either.

Then what is it?

It's nothing.

It's not nothing, you're crying and pulling away from me-

More tears and when she felt him closing the gap between them, she turned around and hissed at him. Stunning him from the sudden treatment she never thought she would pull on him. Any other predator would have struck her with their sharp claws, but Dagon just floated there quietly. His blue light faded out completely from his plates and eyes. She sighed, not even trying to hide her tears. You're so happy Dagon…You grew up so much, you lead a Pack now, you have a beautiful Mate and now, is a Sire to a healthy little boy…I want to be happy for you, I really do, but…but…it's not fair…

He blinked, clicking his tongue before looking away, Na Kika, I know you haven't had the best of luck when it comes to finding a male and if it feels like I'm rubbing these changes of my life in your face, then I'm sorry-

It should've been me…She said quietly and could literally feel Dagon froze from her words.

What?

It should've been me…why couldn't it be me? Why couldn't you see past my features, my species and give me a chance to make you happy? For so long, I was there for you…and now, you don't need me anymore and it hurts so much because it should've been me and I know this isn't the right time to say it and it's so selfish, but there's so much I can take and bare, I'm sorry…She sobbed quietly…I love you, Dagon…

There was dead silence, the only sound she could hear was the waves and her last bit of her cries and that scared her. It shouldn't take this long for Dagon to react, especially after that immature confession. What in the world was she thinking? He came here to tell her about his newborn hatchling and she thought that was the right time to confess her love for him. Stupid, she thought, very, very stupid. She didn't have it in her to look at him. No doubt, he was angry at her and trying to find the right words to tell her to go away and never speak to him again-

I love you too, Na Kika.

Her eyes nearly bulged out from hearing those words. Not "I Value you" like he would always say, he actually told her he loved her. She slowly turned around to face his serious and firm face. He wasn't joking, but he didn't look happy about it either. W-w-what?

He rolled his eyes and slowly swan over to her to make sure she was listening, I said I love you too, Na Kika…how could I not? You're my most trusted friend in the entire world…

Part of her wanted to sink and live in a dark hole, Dagon, that's not what I meant-

I know exactly what you mean…but I don't want to ruin what we have…you deserve better than me, Na Kika and deep down you and I both know we're more compatible as companions than romantic partners…

She stared at his composed face, though she could see the slight bit of hurt in his eyes and it wasn't from her confession, it was from the fact he was about to hurt her once again. You really think I deserve better, I…I don't understand.

He huffed, Na Kika, we've been friends for over a century and during those times I would listen to you talk about your ideal male. A Prince Charming that would do anything for you, be there for you and court you properly with respect and romance. Someone who's mature and sophisticated, not someone like me who comes and goes as he pleases and constantly upsets you for being gone months at a time. If it was the other way around, I wouldn't have stuck around like you did nor have the patience to deal with my ongoing shenanigans. You're so traditional, saving yourself for your true love and I respect that. He then let out a small chuckle, I mean, I've been with dozens-

She gave him a look, a reminder that she didn't like him talking about his Flings.

-Um…yeah, right,...and still you don't judge me even though I know you want to. I actually felt ashamed for the longest time for trying to take away your purity just to show you how fun it is…because that's not how you wanted it to happen. You want it based on love and not just some experiment because I couldn't keep my male instinct in check. Every time I would playfully get close to you, you always flinch and freak out from my touch…

She blushed, I was shy, Dagon…it's a natural reaction being around someone you have feelings for.

He chuckled, We're not adolescents here, Na, Kika, I would expect that from dumb, young kaijus and to me, if you really love someone romantically, you wouldn't flinch from their touch. When I started feeling something for Shri, I didn't feel shy and neither did she…everything that happened between us when we were alone just felt…natural…smoothly like the currents in the water. I think when it all came out in the open how we truly felt about each other, we forgot about the risks knowing she was in a bad bind. Now we have a hatchling, something I never thought I would sire in my life nor wanted to, but I don't regret it and I'm going to do my best not to screw this up.

Every single word sunk into her like his blue radiation and although what he said hurt, it did feel like a heavy weight lifted off her shoulders. And here she thought Dagon would yell at her, he had every right to do so, but like always, he knew he had to stay calm and show compassion towards her. He did love her, loved her enough to know he wasn't the right male for her and knew she wouldn't be happy if he left his new family for her. She sniffled, Do you really think you're not good enough for me…why do you always think so low of yourself…

I know I'm not the right male for you, Na Kika…and I'm sorry for you wasting so many years on me and keeping you from finding the right one, but I know he's out there and he's going to be the luckiest male in the entire ocean. And once he proves his worth to you, you're going to fall in love with him instantly. He's going to give you everything you ever wanted and I'll be honest, I will get upset that he's taking you away from me, but I'll be happy knowing you'll be happy.

She let out a small giggle and that put a smile on Dagon's face. So, you're not going to…forget me? She asked, thinking the word "Leave" would be too much.

He held her close causing her to flinch once again and she blushed. They've been friends for so long, why did she flinch from his touch, she wondered while Dagon nuzzled her stronger. How could I forget about you, why would you think I would leave you? I told you from the very beginning nothing is going to tear us apart and I want you to be in Gojira's life. I want him to form a strong bond just like we did and in case something happens to me or Shri, I want him to know you'll be there for him when he needs it.

She wanted to cry again, but instead held on to him as tightly as possible. You Promise…you'll always come back to me…no matter what?

Have I ever broken a promise before?

(Read Tsunami, Chapter 8)

That was the last time she saw him…

…because a year later he ended up passing away. Sacrificing his life to protect the ones he loved and according to his Heir, was soon forgotten over the decades…

When she saved Gojira from the Fallen Star, she really thought it was Dagon. She really thought she was going to see her Dearest Companion after nearly two hundred years again only to be taken aback when she realized it was his adult son. Broken, injured and just as confused as she was over their awkward introduction.

And here she thought she was going to meet him as a hatchling…not a young adult with the same blue smoke spewing out of his back due to his injury. She lost count how many times she got onto Dagon for about that only for him to brush it off like it was no big deal. Flashing her that reassuring smile just to get her to calm down and shut up. The image of his face started to cloud her mind that she wasn't paying attention to Gojira and his rather rude matters. Dagon was dead…after all this time, all these years, it turned out he was gone from this world. Part of her wanted to break down, but didn't want to do it in front of Gojira. She had too much pride to collapse like that in front of a stranger so she took off.

Hey, where are you going!? Gojira shouted as if she was the one being rude and loud.

I need to go. She said, already feeling her throat clog up and her heart pounding. Dagon was dead…

GO!? You can't just go! Get back here, I can't move! How do you know my Sire!?

She shut her eyes and clench her mouth as hard as she could to prevent herself from screaming. Remembering the last time she and Dagon were together. He was so happy and despite her confessing her love to him and wishing it was her that gave him a happy life of a mate and heir, he still wanted her in his life and he still wanted her to meet Gojira one day. I'm sorry. I just need a moment, please. I'll be back. She said, floating further away, feeling a bit guilty for leaving Gojira in his predicament-

Stupid BITCH! You can't just tell me you knew my Sire then just leave! Come back! He roared, only for it to fall on deaf's ears.

Once she was alone, she floated there like a weightless jellyfish, letting the numbness of realization and guilt drown out the pain of her own wounds. She was still bleeding thanks to the Fallen Star, but it didn't matter to her at the moment. All she could do was focus on the scream of grief that was building up in her throat. Dagon was gone and for the longest time, she thought he abandoned her. She spent years, almost decades waiting for him, making sure she never went too far from her home so she wouldn't miss him. Sometimes wishing for the ability to live outside of the water long enough to find him while growing more and more despair. She was convinced he left her for her own good. Knowing Dagon, he probably thought flaunting his new life around her would be too much for her to handle and thought it'd be better for him to never come back. Yet, he promised her and told her no matter what, nothing will tell them apart.

She started to choke, slightly shaming herself for ever giving up on him and the days she would hate him for leaving. It wasn't because he was heartless or saw her as a burden, he just…died. Leaving her without her loveable companion and Gojira without a Sire his entire life.

She covered her face, bracing herself for a loud and horrible scream to escape her mouth only to hear Dagon's voice in her head.

(I want him to form a strong bond just like we did and in case something happens to me or Shri, I want him to know you'll be there for him when he needs it.)

(Nothing will ever tear us apart)

Like always Dagon was right about her love life. She did end up meeting someone wonderful, sophisticated, and charming and just like him, she met Leviathan by chance. After a couple of Decades with no sign of Dagon, she decided to swallow her pride and go back to her hatchling-hood home even if it means dealing with her sister's behavior. She ended up getting lost along the way due to getting bad directions from another fellow octopus kaiju and crossed paths with the mature lizard-serpent. She thought there was going to be hostility between them since he was a Predator and she was basically food to his Kind, but Levi surprised her. Apparently, she wasn't his type of food, (Too squishy, I prefer Flyers) and was even nice enough to tell her she was in a danger zone of predators that would find her as a meal. What was weird about their encounter was the fact she felt comfortable around him. His mannerism matched her own, he was warm and polite despite his sharp teeth and didn't even flinch when his scales brushed up against her by accident. They were rarely apart after that encounter, he was there for her every single day, watching over her, letting her take her time to open up to him and slowly falling in love. A year after their meeting, Levi told her he loved her and wanted to court her which she happily accepted. Many, many, many years together with four hatchlings later, she was happy how her life was going. it was everything she ever dreamed of and thought everything was complete till Gojira came crashing down into the water.

She pulled her tentacles away from her face and stared up at the water's surface. The sky was still dark and violent thanks to the Fallen Star's present, but she could see a little bit of sun coming out slowly. Literally shining down on her and taking it as a sign.

I'm sorry, Dagon. She said out loud. Apologizing for his sudden death and for doubting him for so many years. Please forgive me.

She didn't have time to cry now. Goji was in trouble and she needed to be there for him. It was the least she could do after Dagon spent years looking out for her and she was already growing fond of his stubborn Heir.

She sighed, Your son is rude by the way, but I'll look after him no matter what. I won't let you down.

She suddenly felt a sense of warmth on her face. Believing that was Dagon's way of nuzzling her and saying (Thank you)...

Part XII

You Found Me

When they made it to the seaweed field, she was greatly disappointed to find nothing, but a few floating leaves and signs that a fight went on not too long ago. She could smell Amor's blood and actually spotted a few pieces of Chand's scales shining on the ground. We're too late…She said, sadly while Goji swam past her to inspect the damage. Circling around the large field in silence while letting his golden eyes scan the field. What are you doing?

He sniffed the water before looking at her. I heard that Octopuses can change color and turn invisible, is that true?

She huffed, Honestly Gojira, you really need to pay attention, you've seen me change colors before and yes, in a way, we can turn invisible. Why?

Did your brat inherit that trait by any chance? He asked calmly while settling his feet down in the seaweed.

Yes, they all did though only Amor and Chanda were able to master the invisibility trait. Again, why? She asked.

He raised his foot, Oh, I just want to make sure my senses weren't playing tricks on me, that's all. He said calmly before stomping his foot down on the ground.

There was a loud scream and suddenly Chanda appeared with Goji holding down her tail with his foot. She froze from the sight of her daughter. Despite being gone for so long, she was still glowing brightly and showed no signs of poor health and starvation. The only thing that stuck out was the black ink her brother left behind on her bright white scales. It was all over her body and smudged all over her face.

Get off my tail, you disgusting beast! Chanda hollered while showing off her blood-stained teeth.

Chanda…She called out to get her daughter's attention.

Chanda stared back at her, but instead of a bright, welcoming smile, she tried to flee, only to be pulled back violently, nearly crashing into Gojira, who refused to let go of her tail. Chanda quickly got up and tried to flee again.

She tried to come closer, holding her front tentacles in front of her in an attempt to calm her down. My Dear, stop, it's just me-

Go away! Chanda screamed and tried to swim away once again, but Goji didn't budge. In fact he had a little smirk on his face from watching Chanda make a spectrum out of herself. I already told Amor, I'm not coming back!

She got a little bit closer, knowing very well from dealing with predators all her life that comforting them takes time and patience due to their aggressive behavior. But you came back anyway, that right there shows me you still care and after being gone for so long without a word, why do you want to leave again? She asked calmly.

Chanda growled, For fuck sake mother!

Language my daughter, proper young females don't talk like that-

-Mother! Don't you dare lecture me, I'm not the perfect child Brat like Amor! She screamed back.

A small snicker escaped Goji's mouth and she knew right off the back it was going to make things worse. Chanda heard it and slowly turned her attention to him as if seeing him for the first time. Did you just laugh at me? She hissed.

Goji's rare smirk slowly turns back into an annoying frown. Na Kika there is no way this drama queen is your daughter…He said, pointing at her.

Goji, this is no time for jokes. She said, rubbing her face.

I don't recall you ever whining like this before and I'm quite shocked she came out somewhat good-looking.

Chanda's fins flare up from the insult. Somewhat? Is that your way of flirting?! By insulting my looks and stepping on my tail?!

Goji cringed, Don't flatter yourself, Serpent. Don't get upset, I don't see you as Good Taste.

Chanda's color blackened to a dark gray and red from his words. That's some Talk coming from you overweight, piece of waste of space. You give lizard kaijus like us a bad name for your fat, overeating, destructive habits.

It's called muscles and armor, Miss and trust me it's a lot better than being thin and lanky. I'm barely putting weight on my foot to hold you down yet you still struggle to break free!

Chanda was now shaking. Who the fuck are you and why are you still stepping on my tail?!

I'm just a friend of your Mother, so stop yelling and quit making that ugly face. He shouted back while showing off his own set of sharp teeth. Even going as far as trying to size her up. Chanda was tall thanks to having a long neck and tail, she even surpassed the height of all three of her brothers, so she wasn't easily scared.

Goji, please just let her go. She demanded. Goji rolled his eyes before removing his foot off Chanda's tail. Her daughter didn't even bother to look at her before taking off as fast as possible. Chanda! She shouted before swimming after her. No, come back! Knowing very well she wouldn't be able to keep up with her. Levi's kind were lightweight and fast, making it easy for them to hunt or escape danger.

A bright, familiar beam flew past her and for a moment, she thought it was aiming for Chanda, but instead it flew past her daughter as well and hit a large rock in front of Chanda's escape route. There was a loud explosion and the rock blew up into nothing, but pebbles and clouded dirt in the water. Chanda instantly stopped dead in her tracks and just stood there, stunned and scared at the same time. Her colors slowly turned back into her bright pearl white and looked back at her and Goji, unsure what to do or say.

Flabbergasted, she turned around to see Goji heading over to her with blood seeping out of his mouth. Did you really shoot your beam at my daughter?!

Unfazed by her allegation, he snorted. You wanted her to stop, so there you go.

That was uncalled for, Goji.

Hey, be glad that was a perfect shot, most of the time I can't control these beams. He said, while making sure not to take his eyes off of Chanda.

And you thought testing it out on Chanda was a good idea?!

He grumbled, Again, you wanted her to stop and she did yet you're still not happy. You're here giving me crap for complaining all the time yet you pull this shi-

It's you…Chanda said, interrupting them, while staring at Goji in disbelief.

Goji blinked. Last time I checked, it's me.

Chanda shook her head, No, you, the one I hear about from other kaijus. The one that's been fighting Fallen Star. The freak with the blue light. The Abomination that's going to save everyone from extinction. The One mother would talk about when we were younger and here I thought she made the whole thing up to make me feel better about myself…

Goji scoffed, Yeah, yeah, I've been called worse things. I know the drill. Nobody likes me until I'm the last chance for them to live due to the Fallen Star's invasion.

Chanda frowned, I didn't mean to insult, it's just nice to know I'm not the only one. A Freak of Nature…at least you have a purpose.

She could actually see Goji's eyes soften a little from Chanda's words, but still he held a firm face. She, on the other hand, had a lot to say. Is that the reason you ran away, Chanda? How many times have I told you, you are not a Freak-

Don't start, Mother. You wouldn't understand. You never had and you never will because you've never been in my place. She said, looking away.

Chanda, Kama told me and your Sire everything. He told us what happened between you and the Suitor and you have no right to feel guilty for what you did. You were protecting your brothers' life.

If Kama told you everything, you wouldn't even be here. I'm sure he told Erato and Amor, why do you think Amor didn't show any reaction when he found me.

What are you talking about? Why would I not want to be here? You're my daughter, your Sire's beautiful moonlight. When you left, it was so hard for me because I had many who left my life and most of the time, I have to swallow it down in order not to lose my mind. Your Sire and I would worry about you every single day and he would spend most of his time looking for you.

Chanda huffed, Mother, I never told Onyx about you or my brothers…I loved him so much that I was scared and ashamed to tell him thinking he would leave me. I really thought he loved me for who I am, that he would be the one to show me I wasn't abnormal and would finally learn to love my mixed inheritage, but when he realized the octopus he was trying to kill for a courting gift was my brother. He called me a Freak…A disgusting half-breed…A low graded pile of trash just like those inbreed parasites…

She tried to reach out to touch her, You shouldn't be ashamed of-

Chanda growled and floated away from her. Well, I am, alright! Nothing about me makes sense and you and Sire and Amor and Kama and Erato will never understand the confusion I feel every single day. Things were so easy for them, Amor was perfect, he came out looking like you and was loved by everyone, and Kama and Erato just knew how to charm kaijus to see past their rare traits, but no, it wasn't easy for me! As soon as everyone saw me, they thought I was dangerous! There were times I so badly wanted to be just like you and my brothers, but that wasn't me and I don't know how to be a serpent-lizard like Sire because that isn't me either. I don't know who I'm supposed to be! Chanda cried, before swimming away from them once again, but only this time to put some distance between them. The moonlight glow around her body began to fade, turning her scales into an ugly gray color.

She frowned, she really didn't know what to do now. All the speeches she had about self-worth didn't mean anything to Chanda since she heard them all and she was right. She didn't understand what her daughter was going through since she wasn't a rare mixed breed. Still she needed to try, but before she could go over to her, Goji beat her to it. Stunning her from his sudden need to get involved.

Before Chanda could put another foot of distance, Goji blocked her from going any further. No way, you're not running away again. He said, calmly.

Chanda wasn't amused, This is none of your business, Lizard.

It's Gojira and if you don't stay and talk things out, I'm not going to hear the end of it from your mother. The last thing I need is the Old Hag crying on my shoulder and making me uncomfortable.

If I'm not going to hear out my brother or my mother, what makes you think I'm going to waste my time listening to you?

Because like you said, I'm a Freak of nation, just like you. He said, letting his plates and eyes light up. Giving her a small glimpse of Dagon she so badly missed. When Chanda didn't say anything, he continued. Look I get it, you're mad at the world for not accepting you for who you are yet at the same time, you're mad at yourself for being different, right?

Chanda blinked, making her blue eyes dull down a bit. How did you handle it? When did the confusion stop for you?

It wasn't that hard, basically when I was growing up, the Pack I was living with knew my fate before it even happened and thought it was best to ignore me. I've learned from an early age, it was best not to make a connection with other kaijus…He sighed…Great for survival, but you could say it made me careless, heartless and mean. I pushed away those who tried to care about me and attracted those who only wanted me dead. I've pretty much been a loner my whole life.

Were you happy? She asked…Being alone?

Goi had to think about that…It was…quiet. That's probably the simplest way to describe it. There were no whisperings, screaming or getting strange looks. It was just quiet and I thought it was better that way until I met a few kaijus like your mother that saw something…Ok…with me.

Chanda sighed, Yeah, she's like that…she would try to find good in everyone she meets and even when it blows up in her face…she would just brush it off and try again. I lost count how many times I snapped at her for just trying to compliment me and the disappointed look in her eyes when nothing goes right in my life. I would hear her voice her concerns to my Sire, but even he was at a loss what to do. They tried so hard, and I was so tired of disappointing them because I didn't know who I was…

She wanted to intervene, tell her daughter that she was there for her no matter what even after hearing the shame and anguish of just being alive, but the way Goji was gesturing his tail, he didn't want her to impose. Chanda was opening up, finally letting out all the hurt and negative emotions she's been bottling up for so long, to another rare kaiju with similar issues. She was just surprised Goji was allowing it. He was showing off that soft side she and no doubt Mosura would only see.

At least you have a Support System…Goji said, gesturing over to her and for a second, she locked eyes with her daughter for the first time in fifteen years…Your mother is one stubborn old thing…when I was injured and couldn't walk for months, she was there to help me even though I was so mean to her. I would make so many crude remarks to her that she would slap me with a smile on her face.

Chanda let out a sad chuckle, That's her way to get control of things. My brothers still flinch when she's about to slap. When she realized Gojji wasn't laughing, Chanda gave him an odd look. You're not the laughing type, are you?

Goji shook his head. It's rare.

Like your smile? She asked.

Pretty much and this conversation we're having. I try to stay out of other Kiajus' dramas, but like I said, I'm a friend of your mothers. Trust me, I don't usually give kaijus I don't know this much attention.

I blame my beauty. It's ok, you're not bad looking for a Land Lizard. She teased.

Goji rolled his eyes. Taken…

Really? That's a shock. Who was blind enough to see you as a Ray of Sunshine.

Beats me, I'm still trying to figure that out, but she wants to be with me and honestly, I might not say it out loud, I'm…happy.

A smile formed on Chanda's face. That's fine, you're not my type anyway. At least you found someone who sees past that strange glow stuff you can shoot out of your mouth. When my mother told us about this lizard she knew back then, I thought she made up the whole thing. Only Amor thought you were real, but I couldn't believe there was a kaiju like that out there that could do what you can do until the Fallen Star appeared.

She knew my Sire, he gave me these so-called "Gifts" and according to her they were very close. She never had anything bad to say about him, I was only a year old when he died and didn't know him as well as she did, so it was nice of her to fill in the blanks. He said, giving her a small look of appreciation since he would never tell her face to face.

They stayed quiet for a bit with Chanda lost in deep thought and Goji getting more and more uncomfortable till Chanda clicked her snake-like tongue. I didn't mean to kill him…

Goji's eyes perk up, Who? That Suitor you were whining about to your mother?

I wasn't whining and yes, Onyx…I loved him so much…I really thought if I didn't mention my mother or brothers, if I hid the fact I was a half-breed maybe that would give him time to love me enough to see past that. He was so gentle and sweet…romantic…everything my Sire told me a male should be to a female…

Ok, we're having a moment here, please don't mess it up with all the sappy talk. Goji asked, as politely as he could.

Sorry, King Sensitive. Chanda said in a passive-aggressive way, getting another eye roll from Goji.

You know…Goji said softly, getting Chanda to look at him…my late companion once told me if someone can't see you at your worst, they shouldn't have you at your best…or something like that…my biggest regret was never paying attention when he was trying to lecture me…

Your point is? She asked.

What I'm trying to get, I know you had strong feelings for this Suitor, but if he couldn't accept you for being who you are then maybe he wasn't the right one for you. I mean, you said you were in love with him, but in the end, you decided to protect your brothers instead.

Chanda frowned, I told him to stop so many times, but he didn't listen. He was so stunned when I told him Kama was my sibling and after all the name calling, I just snapped.

My point actually, if he really loved you, he would've stopped. You shouldn't feel bad for what you did. I should know, I killed one of my own kind as well, but it was in self-defense. That Fool was misguided and I told him I wasn't going to fight him, but he didn't listen. It ended up costing his life and as stupid and silly as this sounds, there will be other chances to find someone. I mean look at your mother, you can tell she waited a long time before finding your Sire and they're happy, right?

She nodded

I know running away seems like a solution, but I've been on the run for nearly half my life and it can mess you up mentally if you're not careful. Do you really want to continue on like this and be ok waking up looking like me. He said, pointing a claw at his face.

She didn't know what Chanda saw when she stared at Goji's face, but it was enough to make her fins flicker and shake her head. No and to be honest, the last couple of years have been hard. The very few friends I made died thanks to the Fallen Star and their allies.

Yeah, yeah, life sucks right now, but at least you know you have Na Kika to go home too. You know she'll always be there for you no matter what. So why not save me the headache and come back, so she can help you get your life in order. You know deep down, you really don't want to leave again.

Chande stared at him, her blue eyes were dull thanks to a lot of regret before staring at her. How could she forgive me after being gone for so long? She asked.

Goji shrugs, Well, she's been here the whole time, giving us space to talk, so that's a start. I think she's just waiting for you to close the gap.

Are you going to leave? Chanda asked.

Goji's eyes perk up. I was just here to escort your mother-

I'll go back if you promise to stay for a couple of days. I really enjoy our conversations. It's nice to have someone that's…kind of like me.

Goji grumbled and noticed her begging to take up the offer, he then huffed. Fine, you're lucky you caught me with some free time to spare.

Later that evening…

It was like she was living out one of her dreams, watching her sons welcoming back their sister with love and forgiveness. There was no awkwardness either, Chanda was a little shy at first, but that was quickly erased when her brothers pulled her in for a long-overdue group hug. Chanda even went as far as apologizing to Amor for biting him…

I'm sorry….

It's ok, I'm just glad you're back.

We missed you.

Wait till Sire hears about this when he wakes up.

Something she hasn't seen them do since they were young hatchlings and right next to her was the son of her most Dearest Friend who she couldn't help, but kiss his cheek to show gratitude.

Knock it off. Goji said, gently pushing her away.

Thank you for talking to her. You didn't have to. She said, smiling.

I know, but I'm sure if it was the other way around, you would've done it as well. He said.

I would have, because I care about you.

He just crossed his arms before looking at her Adult Hatchlings reconnecting again. I should really be heading back to Mosura.

Oh? I thought you were having second thoughts about your relationship with her? You told me you thought about never going back.

No, I just realize dealing with her is a lot easier than dealing with your everyday drama. No offense, but your Brats are exhausting.

All hatchlings are Goji. Just wait till you have a bundle of little ones of your own. She said, giving him a playful nudge. She was already a Grandmother thanks to Amor and his mate having little ones and can't wait to have more to love and hold.

Why would you say things like that? It's not going to happen…

Your Sire said the same thing yet here you are? She teased.

It's not going to happen…

Just think of the pride and joy you'll feel once you see them hatch?

Shut up, Na Kika, it's not going to happen.

I'm sure Mosura will change your mind.

It's not going to happen…

Little Stanger

~I have died every day waiting for you

Darling, don't be afraid

I have loved you for a thousand years

I'll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believe I would find you

Time had brought your heart to me

I have loved you for a thousand years

I'll love you for a thousand more.~

~A Thousand Years by Christina Perri

(Read Tsunami, Chapter 6)

Present Day, Five years after The False King's death

She held Goji's hatchling high above her head just so she could see the way his soft scales shine thanks to the bright morning sun before lowering him down to give him a soft nuzzle. His small little giggles made her want to cry in pure happiness. It's been forever since she held a tiny hatchling in her tentacles and who would've thought it would be the grandson of the male she will forever hold dear in her heart.

Can you tell me why it was a bright idea to wake up this early in the morning. Gojira asked, before letting out a loud yawn.

Azure followed by letting out a small yawn as well, which she comforted by gently patting his scale-less back. Because Azure woke up hungry and you said you were going to find one of Mosura's old companions today. That bird-serpent you don't, remember?

Yeah, but I was hoping for a few more hours of sleep, thank you very much. He mumbled while trying to wake up.

What better way to start the day then bright and early, plus that's when the best food is out and the water is so nice. Especially up here near the surface. She said, holding Azure close to her chest.

Goji grumbled, Quit spoiling him.

I'm older than you, my Dear. I can do whatever I want with my Grandhatchling. She said with a sly smile. And I don't hear Azure complaining either. She added, looking down at Azure who was enjoying all the snuggly hugs.

He didn't bother to correct her, mostly because over the years after meeting each other, he came to accept being seen as one of her own sons like her other hatchlings (Whether he liked it or not). He might say it out loud, but he was grateful to have someone like her being there for him when needed. Last night, he came by, visiting for the first time since the False King's awakening to share with her what's been going on over the years. She, too, suffered a horrible reaction being under the False King's spell and like many others, decided to go back to sleep to wear it off. In a great Gojira Fashion, she was sleeping in her cave when he came to visit. Greeting her with his signature hello.

(Hey…Old Hag, are you still in there?)

She was reaching a thousand years old now, but her beauty and good heart was still there. Why else would she be alright putting up with Goji's rude antics. What she didn't expect was a small pair of bright blue eyes staring back at her when she woke up. She didn't need Goji to tell her who the little hatchling was, he had the same color scales and soft features of Dagon and she instantly fell in love with the beautiful little boy. While she held the Little Prince safely in her tentacles and watched him sleep, Goji informed her what's been going on. Same old, Same old in his opinion. There weren't that many kaijus left, some of them went back to sleep while others decided to explore the new world. The Humans are still a burden and now nosy. What really brought a smile to her face was when Goji told her about the fate of her mate Levi. He survived the "Big Sleep" and is sleeping somewhere on the other side of the world. He even promised her once his trip around the world with Azure is done, he'll escort her to him. Azure was born about a year ago, but he refuses to tell her why now, all of a sudden, he decided to Sire a hatchling. (There's no point talking about it. He's here and Mosura is over the moon about him) He told her though there was a speck of anger in his voice. She didn't want to push it, especially with Azure around, so she decided to drop it for now. When he's ready to talk about it, he'll talk about it.

Fine, if you want to play the role, you watch him while I go find him some food. He gets cranky if he doesn't eat.

Shocker! She said, before looking down at Azure. Your Sire gets cranky too when he doesn't have a decent meal. She giggled which made Azure squeak in pure joy.

Don't talk to him like a baby either. Goji complained before swimming down to the darker part of the ocean.

Why not? I do it to you all the time. She said, while never taking her eyes off of Azure.

Just stay out of trouble, please and make sure he doesn't wander off! He shouted from afar.

She shook her head, letting out a small giggle before resting her body on a giant rock with Azure still in her tentacles. Azure stared up at her with his big, curious eyes while she slowly changed her colors to entertain him. Flashing him with bright colors of reds, oranges and yellows before cooling down to a few blues and dark greens. Intrigued, he placed his small claw on one of her tentacles to feel her soft, squishy texture. Another one floated above him which he tried to bite playfully.

Too slow, my little one. She said, before lifting him up as high as he could. He let out a loud giggle only to gasp in horror when he saw something behind them. Her fins flared up, sensing something dangerous coming by, she quickly brought him down and hid him in the tangles of her coil tentacles. She knew who was approaching, the only closest kaiju to her home and an unwelcome one as well.

Azure let out a small whine which she shushed him quietly. Stay low and do not make a sound. Azure nodded and curled up into a small ball before covering him up from the Intruder. As soon as she put on a firm face, the purple sea-dragon swam by.

You're up early, Na Kika. Tiamat hissed while letting her fins on her face flutter.

What did I tell you about invading my home turf, Tiamat? She asked bluntly.

Tiamat smirked, We're up here near the surface, not down below, so your little rule doesn't work here.

Boy, someone is in a bad mood…again…

Tiamat chuckled, I wouldn't call it a bad mood, antsy is more like it. I don't know why, but something strange is about to happen. I can feel it in my scales and whiskers.

Well, they always say you should trust your instinct. She replied. Who knows, perhaps you'll meet an old friend from the past since a lot of Kiajus are waking up now.

Never had any friends, but enemies…now that would be a great day when I kill my enemies off. She said, trying to sound scary, but it didn't faze her.

She shrugged, Very well, good day then. She said, waving her off.

Tiamat's wicket smile wouldn't fade as the sea-dragon swam a little bit closer to her. Are you hiding something, Na Kika?

Hiding? She asked, trying to stay as composed as possible. What makes you think I'm hiding something?

Oh, I saw you playing around with something from afar. Something small with blue dots. It's hard to tell, my eyesight isn't as sharp as it used to be.

It's called Aging and horrible behavior just makes you age even faster. Why do you think I still look so young after so many centuries? She joked.

Tiamat was not amused and floated a little closer to her. Despite her heart beating fast and Azure digging his tiny claws into her flesh, she stayed calm. You know food have been so scarce lately-

-I would blame it on your laziness-

-wouldn't it be nice to share whatever little snack you are hiding in your tentacles. Tiamat asked, trying not to lose her temper.

If I was hiding food, I assure you I wouldn't be sharing it with you. Now, good day. She said, trying to wave her off again.

Then give me the whole thing and I'll be on my merry way. She hissed, before letting her yellow toxin seep out at the corners of her mouth.

I'm being visited by the King…do you really want him to come back from his hunt to see you threatening me? She asked calmly.

Tiamat floated back with a firm face, You can't hide behind him forever, Na Kika. One day, he won't be there to save you.

Same thing about the False King, Tiamat…She smacked back.

Tiamat rushed right into her face and growled, hoping to scare her, but she didn't move an inch. Making sure to keep Azure hidden from the unhinged female. Tiamat snorted before slowly swimming away from her. You're lucky I'm saving my energy on more important things instead of your food, Na Kika.

Should I be lucky? She asked.

You should me because like I said, I get the feeling something strange is about to happen. Tiamat said, calmly before disappearing into the unknown.

She shuddered, Veil Female. She whispered only to hear a small whimper. She quickly got up from her spot on the stone and held Azure close to her to calm him down. Oh, it's ok, Azure, the mean, old female is gone now, she is not going to hurt you. Not when I'm around. She said, nuzzling his little face with her forehead. Azure reached out to touch her face with his claws, a way Little Ones would do to show trust. A bittersweet feeling washed over her, knowing a little piece of Dagon was still alive in this rare and wonderful hatchling and making her hope, he was resting in peace. She held him close to her chest again and began to twirl around to rock him. Remembering the times she used to do this to her own hatchlings in order to keep them at ease while the rays of the morning light shine down on them. Hearts beat fast, colors and promises. How to be brave? How can I love when I'm afraid to fall, but watching you stand alone. All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow….

She kissed the top of his head. One step closer…

I have died every day waiting for you.

Darling, don't be afraid. I have loved you for a thousand years…

I'll love you for a thousand more…
