Pokémon: Sinnoh no Isekai

Chapter Two-hundred and sixty-five: Battle of Gods

People from all over had gathered to witness the epic battle that was about to go down in Wyndon Stadium over in Wyndon, the capital of Galar. It was an official battle in the current season of the World Coronation Series, where a lower ranked member of the Masters Eight was challenging the Monarch, who was sitting ranked as the undisputed number one strongest trainer in the world. Should the challenger win, they will take the Monarch's place as the number one. But the trainers that were going to be battling one another may be a surprise to some folks.

Dawn Berlitz, the Champion of Sinnoh and current Monarch of the World Coronation Series, was challenged by Brandon, freshly in the Masters Eight and the Pyramid King of the Kanto Battle Frontier.

Although the audience was packed, Kenny, Trip, and Mina were able to get good seats in a private VIP room that allowed them to watch the battle. "Dawn's gotta win here," Mina said, "Keeping Brandon from becoming the Monarch aside, we need him to be made reasonable enough to be bargained with so we can get Regigigas off of him, at least for long enough to get whatever the 'ultimate key' needed to access Arceus is."

"I'm betting it's the Azure Flute," Trip said, "But how it'll come to us is a mystery."

"Hey, it still strikes me as odd that the people running the World Coronation Series are allowing trainers with legendary and mythical Pokémon to use them at all," Mina said, "Up to the point that the bigwigs running things have no issue with trainers using entire parties of legends and myths."

Gesturing down to where Dawn and Brandon stood on the pitch, Trip said, "The World Coronation Series is a televised event, with some battles even being broadcast around the world. Although it is a Pokémon battle tournament, it's also still an event aired on TV. The guys running it want to draw in as much viewers and ratings as possible, as that means they earn more from it. Legends and myths draw in loads of viewers. It's all about upping viewership."

Mina nodded in understanding, a contemplative look on her face. "I see."

"Hey guys, guys," Kenny said, "Shut up! Dawn's full battle against Brandon is about to kick off!"

Indeed, the battle that Brandon challenged Dawn to was a full battle where each trainer would be using their respective full teams of six. For Brandon, this would be seeing him use all six of the Regis; Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Regieleki, Regidrago, and Regigigas. The lone fact in and of itself that the Pyramid King was carrying an entire party of legendary Pokémon made him bar none one of the strongest trainers out there. After all, what sort of team had any realistic shot of being able to stand up to a team that consists solely of legendary Pokémon?

That question is what made Brandon (smugly) confident going into this battle he had challenged Dawn to. As such, when the battle was called to begin, he sent out his first Pokémon at the same time Dawn sent her first Pokémon out. However, after the two Pokémon came out to battle one another, Brandon was caught off guard by the behemoth that Dawn had sent out, a behemoth of a beast that had made him realize that his challenge to Dawn may not end up being the easy breezy cakewalk that he was expecting it to be.

"Regirock, I need your assistance!"

"Alright, Kurumu! Let's get goin'!"

The first scene in the battle between Brandon and Dawn saw Brandon's Regirock up against Dawn's named Groudon who, upon coming out, underwent Primal Reversion due to holding the Red Orb, ended up becoming Primal Groudon in the process. The Pyramid King had to choke back a curse as he now realized just what it was exactly that he was now up against. "What manner of farce is this supposed to be?!" Brandon exclaimed, "Where in blazes did you even meet a Pokémon like Groudon, much less catch it?!"

"Like you're one to talk," Dawn retorted dryly, "What with your penchant for exclusively relying on the legendary titans." Dawn's aim for her battle here against Brandon, aside from keeping him from becoming Monarch and (hopefully) make him reasonable enough afterwards to be bargained with, was to give him a taste of his own medicine. He was known quite well for using legendary Pokémon constantly against those he battled, at least when he could. As such, Dawn despite how she (normally) wasn't one to do so herself was running a full team of legendary Pokémon herself, so as to counter Brandon's (bound to be) full team of legendary Pokémon.

However, Dawn was coming at Brandon with a stronger selection, again to give him a taste of his own medicine. Dawn was kicking things off with Kurumu, her named Groudon who had Primal Reversed to become Primal Groudon. In this state, Kurumu had a BST that surpassed even that of Arceus, the (figured) power that Dawn and the other reborn trainers were after. Dawn was hoping to end this battle as quickly as possible, so she went on the offensive. "Kurumu, use Earthquake!"

"Regirock return!" Brandon said as he swapped his Pokémon around, "Regidrago, I need your assistance!" coming out in Regirock's place to battle was Regidrago, one of the Regis who the reborn trainers had helped Brandon with capturing. It ended up eating an Earthquake from Kurumu as Brandon wanted to avoid his Pokémon taking any super effective hits. "Now is when I make my comeback!" Brandon declared, "Regidrago, use Dragon Energy!"

Brandon went wide-eyed with shocked surprise by the move Dawn had called for her named Primal Groudon to use. "Kurumu, use Dragon Claw!" What's more is that Kurumu was faster than Regidrago; its Dragon Claw raked against Regidrago's form, scoring a super effective hit before Regidrago was able to retaliate with Dragon Energy. The hit from Dragon Claw, plus how it took a hit from Earthquake upon switching in, took a chunk out of Regidrago's health, meaning that Dragon Energy, which required the user to have as much health as possible remaining to deal maximum damage, was curbed in the damage it dealt to Kurumu.

Gesturing forward, Dawn called out, "Kurumu, use Earthquake!"

"Regidrago return!" Brandon said as he swapped his Pokémon again, "Regigigas, I need your assistance!" Coming out to battle at Brandon's command was Regigigas, the very Pokémon that the reborn trainers were aiming to ask him about. It was as if they were being teased with the last piece of the puzzle they needed to get so they'd be able to get the 'ultimate key' that was needed to unlock Arceus, not that anyone outside of the reborn trainers themselves as well as Cynthia, Professor Rowan, and Johanna knew that a run-in with the Alpha Pokémon was possible here.

But the Pyramid King was clearly caring only for the immediate threat to his pride and ego that was going on right now. The instant he pulled back a sleeve to show that he had a Dynamax Band as he recalled Regigigas to use the Dynamax Band on its ball, Dawn immediately swapped her Pokémon around. "Kurumu that's enough, fall back! Alright, Sif! Let's get goin'!" After the swap, Dawn's named Primal Groudon was called back, bringing an end to the harsh sunlight and great heat that had since thestart of the battle basically been beating down on Wyndon Stadium.

In Kurumu's place was Sif, Dawn's named Zacian. After Brandon had finished Dynamaxing his Regigigas, he saw that Dawn not only had swapped out her Groudon, but sent out a similarly as impressive Pokémon in its place. "...Impressive," Brandon scowled, trying to keep up a superior attitude, "It would seem that I am not the only one to reach for strength. But whose strength is tops?" Gesturing forward, Brandon called out, "Regigigas, use Max Knuckle!"

"Sif, use Behemoth Blade!" Dawn called out.

Sif, with its superior speed compared to Regigigas (even if it wasn't slowed by Slow Start), struck first and hit Regigigas hard with Behemoth Blade, the attack doing twice as much damage due to Regigigas being Dynamaxed at the time. Regigigas then struck with Max Knuckle, and despite the vast area it covered it really didn't do a whole lot. Regigigas was being curbed by Slow Start, and even the boost to its attack stat from using Max Knuckle was not going to change very much. It would take a few more Max Knuckles on part of Regigigas to begin approaching its damage output without Slow Start in place.

Brandon scowled, realizing that, given how much Regigigas was stung by the named Zacian's Behemoth Blade, it would go down before it was able to build up enough strength to compensate for being curbed by Slow Start. Inevitably, after repeated calls of Max Knuckle out of Regigigas and repeated calls of Behemoth Blade out of Zacian, it was Regigigas who had gone down first. "Regigigas has been defeated," the Rotom Drone announced, "Zacian wins!"

The crowds cheered as Dawn scored the first knock out in the six on six battle against Brandon. As the Pyramid King called back his defeated Regigigas after it had come out of its Dynamax, Kenny in the audience said, "So his highness the Pharaoh of the Pyramid is the first to lose a Pokémon in this battle, ehh?"

"Regigigas was a few turns away from Slow Start wearing off," Trip remarked, "It couldn't keep up with Zacian who not only suffered no manner of debuff but had buffed itself upon entering battle." Sif, who was mildly scuffed up, still looked fresh and rearing to go.

However, when Brandon tossed up a Pokéball while calling out, "Registeel, I need your assistance!", Dawn had other plans.

"Sif that's enough, fall back!" Dawn said as she swapped her Pokémon around, "Alright, Kurumu! Let's get goin'!" Dawn's named Groudon, still in its Primal Reversion state, came back out into battle, bringing with it the harsh sunlight and great heat of its Desolate Land.

Upon seeing Groudon who he knew was a ground type thus strong against steel, Brandon swapped his Pokémon around. "Registeel return! Regice, I need your assistance!" Taking Registeel's place in battle was Regice, who Brandon was hoping would give him an edge as its ice was strong against Groudon's ground. However, he was not expecting to hear what Dawn called for.

"Kurumu, use Fire Punch!"

The named Primal Groudon gave a bellowing roar as it rushed Regice with its right fist pulled back and engulfed in a mass of flames. The flame cloaked fist collided into Regice with the force of a truck sending an anime protagonist into another world. Groudon acquiring a partial fire typing upon Primal Reversion, combined with the harsh sunlght and strong heat, greatly bolstered Fire Punch's already great effectiveness against Regice, and Dawn saw that it had very clearly scored a critical hit. As such, it was inevitable when the crowds cheered wildly upon Regice going down in battle.

"Regice has been defeated," the Rotom Drone announced, "Groudon wins!"

Brandon recalled his fainted Regice as he looked up at Dawn's named Primal Groudon. The Pyramid King realized that Groudon alone, especially in its current state, spelled a LOT of trouble for him; it knew Dragon claw which was strong against his winded Regidrago, and its ground typing gave it an edge against Regirock, Registeel, and especially Regieleki who by the way had virtually zero options against Groudon. There was also how Groudon apparently knew Fire Punch which, in addition to taking out Regice, was also a threat to Registeel.

But Brandon wouldn't back down; his pride wouldn't allow it, even though the rules for the battle actually did permit a trainer to forfeit if they felt the need to. He figured he needed to buy time to come up with a plan for counterattack, so Brandon tossed up a Pokéball while calling out, "Regieleki, I need your assistance!" Coming out to battle was Regieleki, probably Brandon's worst choice against Groudon. But it should have a speed advantage against the large and heavy behemoth. Pointing forward, Brandon called out, "Regieleki, use Ancient Power!"

"Kurumu, use Earthquake!" Dawn commanded.

True to form, Regieleki was the first to attack, striking the named Primal Groudon with Ancient Power. But it hardly registered on Groudon, who retaliated by triggering a massively powerful quake that shook the entire area with potent seismic waves. Legendary though Regieleki may be, it was still on the frailer side of lore, and it was hit hard by a super effective attack from a heavy hitting beast that also got S.T.A.B for using said attack. As such, Regieleki was thrown back and ended up going down to the one Earthquake from Kurumu.

"Regieleki has been defeated," the Rotom Drone announced, "Groudon wins!"

The crowds went wild with cheers as Dawn not only got Brandon down to three of his six Pokémon left, but Dawn herself suffered no losses. Dawn admitted to herself in her thoughts that the last trainer with an all legend team she faced had pushed her harder than Brandon here. Cynthia when Dawn battled her for the Sinnoh Champ title had pushed Dawn harder than Brandon here, as Cynthia had actually taken out two of Dawn's Pokémon in their battle before Dawn won. Ash during the Lily of the Valley Conference had pushed Dawn harder than Cynthia did by taking out half of Dawn's team (three of six) before Dawn won.

Brandon, the Pyramid King of the Kanto Battle Frontier, was proving that he was having trouble keeping up, even with the great power (no denying it's great) that he was boasting. He couldn't keep up with the trainer Dawn had named her Darkrai after. He couldn't keep up with Cynthia. He couldn't keep up with Ash. Brandon, despite how he had made it into the big leagues, was showing he was having trouble keeping up with the others who were there as well. Brandon was about to send out his next Pokémon, but before he could toss up the Pokéball to call said Pokémon out...

*KATHOOM*

Everyone took pause, and some in the audience even screamed, when an explosion from outside of Wyndon Stadium was heard. A large pillar of black smoke was rising up into the sky, choking the azure skies above with black, fouling the air with cinder and fume. Dawn, upon seeing Kurumu get antsy and wanting to act, told her named Groudon to hold on until they knew what was going on. Luckily for them, an announcement was made over Wyndon Stadium's intercom system, but the announcement made Dawn, as well as the other reborn trainers who sat in the audience, feel as if their hearts were leaping from their chests.

"Folks, please don't panic," the voice on the intercom system called out, "But a large number of members of Team Scorn have just struck outside of Team Scorn in what is obviously a bid on their part to carry out some manner of terrorist attack. Additionally, the battle between the numbers eight and one trainer in the Masters Eight will have to be canceled here and resumed at a later point after the terrorist attack by Team Scorn has been stopped."

Dawn let out a sigh and she nodded once in understanding. Recalling Kurumu, Dawn said to Brandon, "It would seem there's more important work to do than fighting for the position of number one trainer in the world, Brandon."

"It would seem so, young lady," Brandon remarked, "Defeating those villains shall be an excellent warm-up for when our battle is able to resume, and I put you in your place and become the Monarch of the World Coronation Series!" Brandon then turned around and ran out of the stadium, obviously aiming to go fight off the Team Scorn members who were attacking Wyndon.

After the Pyramid King had taken off, Dawn was met up by the other reborn trainers. "So the only reason why you didn't whoop the ass of his highness the Pharaoh of the Pyramid is because Team Scorn decided to randomly attack," Kenny said.

Dawn nodded once in agreement. "But the question remains. Why is Team Scorn attacking Wyndon?"

"Let's go find out," Trip said before leading Dawn, Kenny, and Mina out of Wyndon Stadium to go confront Team Scorn. Kenny also made a comment on how Team Scorn is the only reason why Brandon wasn't whooped, as Dawn was totally winning their full legend team versus full legend team battle. Dawn... was not exactly about to try and argue the point with Kenny.

...

Outside the front of Wyndon Stadium, the reborn trainers saw it as members of Team Scorn were swarming all over, battling what all trainers they came across. Dawn saw it as half a dozen Team Scorn grunts were confronting Brandon. Despite being heavily outnumbered, Brandon was smiling confidently, giving off an air that was far more confident that what he was giving off over the course of his battle against Dawn. "You villains had made a very terrible mistake in interrupting the battle I was going to win against the current Monarch," Brandon boasted, "Now you will serve as warm-up for when that battle can be redone and I take my rightful place as the top trainer in the world!"

"The Admin's Assistant serving under Admin Scorbunny got it on good authority that you would go down in battle against Dawn Berlitz," the first male grunt said.

"Just as you will go down to us of Team Scorn today," said the first female grunt, "Here and now."

"NOOOOO!" Brandon bellowed out, in his signature style of bellowing the word 'no', "No matter the number, villains such as yourselves shall never best the likes of me! I shal-"

*BANG*

Time seemed to slow to a painful, frightening crawl as, to the horror of the reborn trainers and all others who saw it happening, Pyramid King Brandon was shot in the head by a sniper who was hiding nearby. Brandon's now lifeless form crumpled to the ground, him never having a chance to fight off the villains who were attacking the capital of Galar. Speaking of said villains, once Brandon fell to the ground dead, they immediately went into action. "Pyramid King Brandon is dead!" called out a second female grunt, "Collect Regigigas from him!"

The grunts proceeded to rush Brandon's remains, but his body was surrounded with the aura of the attack Psychic being used; the Pyramid King's corpse was then yanked away, and received by Kenny and Trip who stood with Dawn and Mina, the latter having her Gardevoir out. "You guys had started this whole attack on Wyndon," Dawn said, her expression unamused as she regarded Team Scorn, "Just to get Regigigas from Brandon."

A gunshot struck the ground about a meter away from Dawn, startling the reborn trainers. Quickly looking around, Dawn soon spotted a sniper on the roof of a building nearby. Even at the distance the gunman was at, Dawn was able to see said gunman clearly enough to identify her as Captain Miyuki, the Third Captain of Team Scorn's Longsword Sector which is the sector of Team Scorn native to the Unova region. Miyuki saw it that Dawn spotted her, so she quickly gathered the stuff that she had with her and took off. Dawn also saw Miyuki take off with a sniper rifle.

"One of the Captains from Team Scorn's sector in Unova had assassinated Brandon," Dawn spoke up. She would have acted to move after Miyuki, but the grunts there kept the heroes occupied, especially as they were after Brandon's corpse so they could loot Regigigas's ball from it.

...

The attack on Wyndon from Team Scorn came to an end after an hour of fighting all over the city when an order came in for the grunts to pull out. Aside from the Pyramid King, no-one had died. There were some other humans who were hurt but all of those injuries were no big deal. And the Pokémon who had fought to defend the Galar capital were all treated. The reborn trainers, standing near where Brandon's body laid on the ground under a white sheet, were approached by Galar Champion Leon, a somber look on his face.

"I got it that Pyramid King Brandon of the Kanto Battle Frontier was assassinated by a Team Scorn sniper," Leon said.

Dawn nodded in the affirmative, her expression and the air she gave off grim. "I got a good enough look at the sniper before she fled to identify her. She's a Captain of the sector of Team Scorn native to Unova. My friends and I also heard the Team Scorn members we fought boasting about how they were aiming to collect Regigigas from Brandon after he had been killed."

Leon's eyes widened a bit in surprise. "Team Scorn is after Regigigas? But why?"

"The lads here and I," Kenny said, "Are aiming to get a hold of all legendary and mythical Pokémon found in Sinnoh region lore. That includes Regigigas, the only one we don't have yet." Kenny did not mention there was... one other... Pokémon aside from Regigigas. "We were planning to try and strike some manner of bargain with his highness the Pharaoh of the Pyramid to get Regigigas from him, at least for long enough to see what happens if we have all of Sinnoh's lore between us."

Turning to look to Leon, Dawn asked, "How did other efforts to repel Team Scorn from Wyndon go?"

Gesturing to Dawn, Leon said, "With the exceptions of Nina and Rimu, all of the Masters Eight had taken part in repelling Team Scorn from Wyndon." Leon turned to look to where Brandon's body laid on the ground under a white sheet. "...Even if some never got a chance to fight."

Trip looked surprise to hear two of the Masters Eight didn't participate in repelling Team Scorn from Wyndon. "Nina and Rimu didn't participate in repelling Team Scorn?"

"I got it that the attack starting up had scared Nina greatly, and her friend Marnie spent the time trying to calm her down," Leon said, "As for Rimu, he was actually asleep in a hotel room he and his girlfriend Penny had rented when he was found. Penny was asleep in a separate bed in the room. From the looks of it, they had stayed up late eating snacks, drinking sodas, and watching animes."

"But all of the other members of the Masters Eight helped to repel Team Scorn," Mina said.

Leon nodded once in the affirmative. "We all were here in Wyndon to see Dawn battle Brandon," Leon said, "And from what I saw, the battle had it played out fully would have been the stuff of legends!"

As the Galar Champion talked to the reborn trainers, they were met up by someone from the staff that helped to run the Battle Pyramid, who now had no defender. "I got it that Brandon had died in the Team Scorn attack on Wyndon," the employee said.

"He was sniped in the head by a member of Team Scorn," Dawn explained, "The words heard from those we had fought suggests that Team Scorn carried out this attack on Wyndon solely to get Regigigas from Brandon."

The employee looked confused. "Just Regigigas? Why not all of Brandon's legendary Pokémon?"

"Team Scorn may have been interested in that," Trip surmised, "If only as some sort of bonus. But all we heard and confirmed was that Regigigas was their main prize that they were after."

The employee looked grim. "...Brandon has family living in the Sinnoh region, his only living blood related relatives. A younger sister named Luna, and two nieces named Tabitha and Claire." Gesturing to where Brandon laid, the employee said, "As they're his only living relatives, they're entitled to what possessions Brandon has left behind due to his death here. That includes his Pokémon."

"Then we're going to have to beseech this Luna lady and her daughters Tabitha and Claire to work out some manner of deal regarding..." Mina began, trailing off when she saw looks of surprised realization on the faces of Dawn and Kenny. "...Umm, do you guys know something?" Mina asked.

A few days later in the Sinnoh region, the reborn trainers were standing outside of the Battle Pyramid which had landed in Twinleaf Town. There, the reborn trainers, with Johanna, Cynthia, and Professor Rowan standing nearby, were discussing things with the late Brandon's surviving family members. In a twist that was surprising (as well as convenient) to the reborn trainers, Brandon's younger sister Luna is Johanna's friend who prefers to go by her nickname of Cookie; similarly, Dawn and Kenny had met Cookie's daughters Tabitha and Claire before, with Tabitha, who weighs in the range of a quarter-ton, being the (very) fat girl who Dawn battled at one point during the Lily of the Valley Conference.

"So my older brother was killed by those horrid Team Scorn villains because they were after his legendary Pokémon," Cookie said, the expression on her plump face firm, serious, and greatly unamused. Said expression also showed signs that Cookie had been crying recently.

"According to testimony from Johanna's kids, as well as Kenny and his girlfriend," Rowan said, "Team Scorn was after only Regigigas specifically."

Tabitha looked curious and mildly confused. "They only stated interest in Uncle Brandon's Regigigas? Why just that one?"

Gesturing to Tabitha, Cynthia explained, "Dawn and her companions have been tracking down and capturing all of the Pokémon found in Sinnoh's lore, which includes Regigigas. Team Scorn obviously wanted to get and steal away with Regigigas in order to prevent Dawn's group from getting everything. It wouldn't be the first time that Team Scorn attempted to play keep away in such a manner."

"We were planning to bargain with Brandon to get Regigigas from him," Dawn explained, "At least for long enough to see what will happen if we have between us all of the legendary and mythical Pokémon of Sinnoh. Regigigas is the last one we need."

Cookie held a hand to her (double) chin, a look of consideration on her face. "Well, since my daughters and I got everything my brother left behind including his Pokémon, I would be more than glad to simply turn custody of Regigigas over to them if the need is that great. But Regigigas is a special Pokémon, I feel it'd be kind of cheap if they simply got it no problem." Looking to the reborn trainers, Cookie said, "Would any of you be okay with battling Regigigas first, besting it in a battle before its handed over to your custody?"

"Ma'am you more than raise a fair point," Kenny replied, "Thus I shall be the one to battle Regigigas!"

...

After things were explained to Regigigas, it agreed to battling Kenny to see if he would be able to take custody of it, becoming its new trainer should he best it in battle. Furthermore, Regigigas would be battling without command from anyone, bringing things to being as close to a battle with a wild Pokémon without the Pokémon in question actually being wild. Kenny, with an amused smirk on his face, stared down at where Regigigas stood in the field in Twinleaf Town as he tossed up an Ultra Ball to initiate battle against the last Pokémon of Sinnoh lore that the reborn trainers needed.

"Okay, Black! Let's make it cringe!" Kenny called out as he sent in his named Giratina. Dawn saw the practical value of this move; Regigigas's known attacking moves are mostly normal type with one fightng type. Black, being a Giratina thus part ghost type, can't be touched by Regigigas's power due to immunity. Granted, Regigigas as a normal type is immune to ghost in turn, meaning that Black's Shadow Force won't do squat. But Black is part dragon type as well and knows Dragon Claw; Kenny also had Black learn Earthquake and Iron Head. Black will be able to touch Regigigas.

Pointing forward, Kenny called out, "Black, use Dragon Claw!" Giratina cried out as it rushed Regigigas, clawing at it with claws glowing fiercely with dragonic power. Regigigas tried to retaliate with Hammer Arm, but the fighting type attack didn't do jack to the ghostly dragon. Another call from Kenny for Dragon Claw saw Black back to hacking at Regigigas with dragonic power-glowing claws. Regigigas then tried to use Crush Grip, but again it didn't do anything to the named Giratina. A bit of a cheap way to clear this challenge, but it was still valid, and the reborn trainers needed Regigigas to get the 'ultimate key'.

After a few more rounds, Regigigas finally shook off the effects of Slow Start, but that still didn't help it as, in addition to its offensive moves being useless against a ghost type opponent, by the time Slow Start wore off Regigigas was close to going down in battle anyway. Kenny mixed things up by calling for Black to use Iron Head, and the slamming headbutting attack from Black, its head shining like polished metal, knocked Regigigas back onto its legendary fanny before it fell onto its back. Kenny called for Black to get back and wait to see if Regigigas would try to get back up.

However, Regigigas indicated that it was bushed by waiving a hand at Kenny in a 'no more' kind of gesture. "...I believe Regigigas has acknowledged Kenny's strength," Cookie said, with Regigigas giving a tired thumbs up in response to Cookie's words. As such, Cookie who was technically the owner of the Regis now willingly gave Regigigas over to Kenny's ownership. With that, the reborn trainers had between them all of the legendary and mythical Pokémon found in Sinnoh lore. They now had everything they needed to get the 'ultimate key' that would help them get to Arceus.

"Heh, I even have an idea on what to name Regigigas," Kenny said, "But I think we'll wait on that until AFTER we see what all happens as a result of the three of us having between us all of Sinnoh's legendary and mythical Pokémon."

Cynthia nodded in understanding, able to tell that Kenny wanted to keep exact details from Cookie and her daughters; it was best to not let people outside of those in the know be aware that a meeting with Arceus was now possible. As a side note, Cookie when asked what she intended to do with the other Regis remarked about how she planned to look into releasing them back into the wild, as she by no means had the capacity to handle such powerful Pokémon; it's part of why she consented to the reborn trainers taking Regigigas off her hands, although she still required that they battled it first to show they're strong enough to handle it.

But that was Cookie's own trial. The reborn trainers, now that they had between them all of Sinnoh's legendary and mythical Pokémon, had all of the 'keys' to bring about the 'ultimate key' that would allow them to unlock a meeting with Arceus. However, how that meeting will go, as well as what the region wrecking threat that the Alpha Pokémon can help fend off, is something that has yet to be figured out. It was getting a bit late, and the reborn trainers figured that it could be something that they could tackle in the morning.

END, CHAPTER TWO-HUNDRED AND SIXTY-FIVE

Aiuthor's notes;

This chapter sees Brandon the Pyramid King have the first half of a full battle against Dawn. Both of them sport entire teams of legendary Pokémon, but it's safe to say that Dawn's team has an edge as everyone she brought are box cover legends where as Brandon's legendaries are lesser legends save for one who did have the BST to go toe to toe with some of what Dawn brought to the table. However, the battle is interrupted about part way through, when half of Brandon's team is down, because a Team Scorn attack is launched on Wyndon, where the Dawn versus Brandon battle is being held.

Shockingly enough, Brandon is sniped in the head by Miyuki, the sniper Captain from the Team Scorn sector native to Unova. It also turns out that Team Scorn attacked Wyndon in a bid to collect Regigigas in order to keep it from the reborn trainers, but the villains are ultimately unsuccessful. The attack is soon ended, and Dawn informs Leon that Team Scorn was aiming to get Regigigas. Leon nodded in understanding, and tells Dawn that the rest of the Masters Eight also helped with repelling the attack that Team Scorn launched on Wyndon. The rest of the Masters Eight aside from Nina and Rimu, which strikes the reborn trainers as curious.

But there's no time to dwell on that, as Brandon had died. As such, what he left behind, including his Pokémon, goes to his surviving family, which turns out to be Luna aka Cookie, as well as Cookie's daughters Tabitha and Claire. After things are explained to Cookie, she agrees to let the reborn trainers take Regigigas, but they have to best it in battle first to prove they're strong enough to handle it. Kenny takes the challenge and wins with relative ease as Regigigas couldn't touch Black. This leads to the reborn trainers having all of Sinnoh's lore between them, giving them what they need to meet Arceus.

However, that will be continued into the next chapter. Until then, take care.
