NO ANBU, NO HINATA HELPING.
JUST MIKA.
We all have goals, Mika was no exception. Dreams, ambitions, Ideals... Mika had plenty of those. Mika's goal? Being like a Sanin, exceptionally power and free to roam. Mika really never had an desires to linger in the Leaf, stuck in a place that let him linger with his abusive father for years. He would never forgive or forget the years of pain, fear and doubt.
No, that would never do.
To achieve this goal, so vast and empowering, he had to break it into pieces. First, find a place to overcome his innate weakness. As a Brainiac and voracious reader, the Hospital seemed like a perfect place for him to rise to power undercover. He could learn to heal sure, but it would help his control, reserves, and influence. You couldn't heal people for a solid year and not evolve as a chakra user, or get more influence as a ninja. This would open so many doors for him, for the rest of his life.
The next step was gaining more power, maybe a weapon or seals or whatever, but something. That could wait, the hospital would increase his skills enough to compete with his classmates and not be ignored as a ninja for a time. His first step would keep him safe for a time and that is all that mattered...
For now.
""""
Mika's head was covered in sweat as he worked over the spiraling mixture of coffee colored liquid, separating the fluids with just his chakra. It took a long twenty seconds, but he did it.
Iida looked on with pride. "Your control is great, not quite enough for the mystic palm but not far off. I will be assigning you chakra control exercises, just a few, to work on your reserves and control until you are ready. Sound okay?" He passed on some scrolls, as well as a bag of books. "You have three plus more hours here. I want you to finish these books, starting with the book on anatomy and the scroll on chakra control. These are the basis for your education here. Can you handle that? I will be quizzing you... oh and since you applied for being a combat medic, you will need to work on evasion training. We will have to get you set up there. We have a two hour training session every other day. You only have three days a week to train, to let's do MWF, with Saturday being a work day. Half your training is on studying medical concepts, training in chakra control and being quizzed. Two hour on taijutsu training, those same days. Saturday is reserved for just working as an aide, to get you more experience and an income and to get you respect in the hospital. Sound good?"
Mika nodded, excited. "I love it. I will be very dedicated, I will not waste your time."
"Be sure you don't, I only have so much time. Now I have some paperwork, you start studying the book until I get back. Make notes if you are confused, we will work on quizzing you before you leave."
And so Mika got to studying hard, though the book was rudimentary, meant for beginners. He learned about cells, organelles and the structural theory of chakra's influence on the body. It was a lot, even for him, but he learned it nonetheless. Soon, far too soon his mentor was back and they got to quizzing.
Mika passed with a hundred percent. " What is the largest Organ? What organ can regenerate other than Skin? What are the most common blood types?" On and on it went, he could not answer it all as some questions were not in his book, but that seemed to be the point.
Iida stopped after ten minutes. "I like this, you learn fast and can say when you are ignorant. That is good... I like this a lot. Your training begins in full on Monday, go home and read your chakra control scrolls. I expect you to have tree climbing done by Monday! Oh and take notes, that always helps. Off you go!"
And off he went, back to his small apartment Immediately he opened his scrolls up and started to read, sitting by his small coffee table. "I can do this in my living room, the walls aren't any different from a tree in this example." Laying down he put his bare feet against the wall and pushed his chakra out, and slowly started to stick. Slowly he walked up the wall, getting a feel for it.
He'd master it in about twenty minutes...and using his bathtub, mastered water walking in another two hours. He vowed to add it into his taijutsu training, the idea of practicing on the water made him giddy with joy. The Scrolls flat out said it would help his reserves, so really all was good!
The final chakra control exercise was both easy and hard, it was sticking leaves to his skin. Doing it at all was easy, but doing many leaves or pieces of paper got tricky. Mika decided to meditate while he did this, before bed, since all ninja were encouraged to meditate.
All in all, for the first time in his life, he felt challenged, encouraged and ready to make a real change in his life...
And that was just the beginning, who knew what he could do when he graduated?
Or even better, when he hit his peak?
He giggled, imagining the potential he really had, no longer hidden away by birth... here he would shine and here... he would find himself.
And nothing was better than that.
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was a joy to write.
Love, your Ninja Overlord,
Mika.
