Third Person POV
(Two Weeks Later)
"Holy shit, what happened here?!" Page One exclaimed.
When they reached their destination, they were greeted with quite the sight. There were chunks of Beast Pirates Ships scattered everywhere throughout the island's shores and shallow parts of the ocean. Most of the sand was painted with blood, mostly eaten bodies and blood-stained.
It didn't take a genius to figure out that a battle went on here and that the Beast Pirates lost horrifically.
"What do you think did this?" Ulti asked.
"Your guess is as good as mine, but at least we only have to worry about finding the fruits now," Crow said sorrowfully.
They may have been pirates, but they were still people with hopes, dreams, and families. They didn't deserve a cruel fate like this.
"Yeah, true...so what do you wanna do with the bodies?" she asked, looking at the Lunarian with worry.
Usually, Ulti would cuss someone out for feeling pity for a bunch of weaklings, but when it came to Crow, she couldn't find it in herself to be a cunt towards him.
The horned girl was deeply aware she was a total bitch toward everyone and had a short temper. Even her brother wasn't safe from her outbursts and harsh treatment.
However, when it came to the Lunarian, she was almost a completely different person. Sure, she was occasionally rude to him and raised her voice at him, but other than that, she treated him like a prince!
So when Ulti saw the look of sorrow on his, it crushed her a lot as she wanted to comfort him, but she didn't know how to. She was never good at dealing with emotions or helping people, which shouldn't be much of a surprise considering her environment. Nonetheless, Ulti wanted to help Crow, so when they returned to Wano, she'd ask Uta for help.
"Let's bury them."
Once they finished burying all the bodies, Page One asked. "So what's the plan?"
Crow thought for a moment. The Lunarian wanted to split up to cover more ground, but at the same time, he worried that whatever killed their men was still on the island, and he didn't want to risk either of the siblings getting killed.
Crow would never forgive himself if that happened. On the other hand, he knew he was being overly paranoid and protective. The siblings were some of the strongest in the Beast Pirates, with only Kaido, the All-Stars, and two of the Flying Six surpassing them in strength. He knew they could go against most people without an issue.
"We'll split up."
"You sure that's a good idea?" Page asked hesitantly.
"Yeah, especially with the killer possibly still running around the island," Utli said.
"If I'm being frank, I'd prefer not splitting up at all, but we need to find those Devil Fruits ASAP, and the quickest way to do that is by splitting up," Crow argued.
While they didn't like the idea of splitting up, the siblings couldn't refute his argument. They may not be as fast as the Lunarian, but they were still fast enough to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time in their Dinosaur forms, and the island they were on was on the smaller side. If they were lucky, they could find all the Devil Fruits within a few days.
Ulti sighed. "Alright, I trust you."
"Me too," Page said.
Crow nodded. "I'll cover the north. Ulti, you cover the West and Page, you got the East. When you find one of the Devil Fruits, inform us and take it back to the ship, understood?" They nodded. "Good, and if you run into trouble, shoot a flare so I can find you two quickly."
"You got it," Page said.
"If we find whatever killed our men, and it turns out to be a person, do we kill them or let Kaido deal with them?" Ulti asked curiously.
"If it's a person, we capture them and bring them back to base. Kaido always needs strong recruits after all, but if it proves they're more trouble than their worth, we kill them," Crow stated, and the sibling agreed.
However, little did they know Crow wasn't doing this to increase Kaido's military strength but to gain allies to go against the Oni one day.
If it were indeed a person that caused all this mess, he'd attempt to sway them to his side as he needed powerful allies, and if the Lunarian failed to persuade the individual, he'd just kill them. No way was going to help increase the strength of Kaido's forces.
Ulti grabbed his hand and looked into his eyes. "Sounds like a plan, but be careful, alright?" her voice was soft and filled with concern.
Page gawked at the sight. 'I know I've seen her like this with Crow before, but it's still unbelievable!' he exclaimed in his mind.
Crow smiled. "I will be. Now go. The sooner we can leave this island, the better."
The siblings nodded, shifted into their dinosaur forms, and approached their assigned directions. Crow flexed his wings and took off into the skies, flying at speeds that nearly rivaled Kings.
(Two days later)
"Still can't find any Devil Fruits?" Ulti asked through the snail.
"Nope. You?"
She sighed. "Same here with Page and me. Do you think the person we're looking for took them?
"Knowing our luck, most likely," he sighed. "If we can't find any by the end of the day. We'll return home."
"But-"
"I know what Kaido said, but we covered the entire island already. We're running around in circles at this point," he pointed out.
"I know you're right...I just really don't wanna deal with a pissed-off Kaido."
"Don't worry. I'll take full responsibility for failing the mission."
"You sure? You know how Kaido tolerates failure..."
Ulti was incredibly reluctant to let him take all the blame because she knew Kaido would most likely beat him within an inch of his life, regardless of how valuable the Lunarian was.
"Yeah, I'm sure."
"Ok..if you're sure..."
Crow was about to say something else, but his sense went off, and he instinctively ducked, narrowly avoiding a sword swing.
"I'M UNDER ATTACK!!"
"WHAT?!!" Ulti screamed.
Before the girl could ask any more questions, Crow cut the call in favor of focusing on his attacker. He shot out a burst of flames, took out his flare gun, shot into the air, and threw it to the side. He quickly turned around and blocked an attack from a sword.
"I guess you're the person that's been killing my men?" he asked rhetorically.
The person clashing blades with him was a beautiful,pale-skinned Wano-looking woman. She has silky black hair that goes past her shoulders, cold gray eyes, and a small scar underneath her right eye. She wore a red scarf and a skintight black suit that left little to the imagination. If he had to compare bodies, her body looked similar to UtUta's, the only difference being that the black-haired beauty was built like a goddess of war.
'NOW IS NOT THE TYPE TO BE HORNY!!' he mentally scolded himself.
The woman didn't reply to his comment. She instead kicked him a few meters away and went back to attacking the Lunarian, and he could barely keep up with her due to how fast she was.
He blocked every strike and thurst with great difficulty, making it very evident that the woman was the superior swordsman.
He had only been utilizing swords for a month and had barely mastered the basics. It was a miracle he was lasting this long against a seasoned warrior. He was much more comfortable fighting with his fists, elbows, legs, and fire than with a blade.
Still, he managed to last five minutes against the experienced user until he got disarmed. Crow grinned ferally at the woman, making her incredibly cautious of the teen.
She went for a thrust, but that proved to be a mistake as the Lunarian evaded the sword and grabbed the woman by the wrist, twisting it, causing her to wince and drop her weapon.
The woman was then met with a hard elbow to her face, underneath her chin, and to her nose. Crow then flipped and slammed her to the ground and then planted his foot on her throat.
"Now make this easier on your-" he grunted in pain as he felt a knife stabbed and twisted into the leg he was using to secure his opponent.
Due to his leg being injured, his hold over the girl weakened, making it the perfect opportunity for her to attack as she pushed him off, causing him to fall to the ground. She quickly got back on her feet and was about to pounce on the Lunarian but was met with a fireball to the face, which she barely avoided.
Crow, pushing through the pain, quickly got up and punched the woman in the abdomen hard enough for him to hear a few ribs crack and blood shoot out of the woman's mouth.
He then grabbed her by the throat and rammed his skull against hers, causing her to hiss in pain. He then slammed her back to the ground, causing the earth beneath them to crack. The teen got on top of her and began unleashing a fury of punches to her face until she stopped moving.
By the time Crow was done smoking the woman's pack, she was no longer the beauty she once was. The woman was now a twitching, bloody, and purple mess that could barely breathe.
Crow sighed. "Should've made this easier on yourself," he then got off the barely conscious woman and dragged her toward a tree.
The Lunarian heard the sibling's footsteps but didn't turn to face them. He didn't want the woman getting the drop on him while he wasn't paying attention, despite that possibility being unlikely.
"Holy shit, you fucked her up!" Ulti exclaimed, looking at the woman with fury, pity, and amusement.
"Remind me not to get on your bad side," Page said.
Crow chuckled. "She was a tough one. I can see how she dispatched our men so easily."
"What do we do with her now?"
"You guys stay here and watch her. Imma returns to the ship for medical supplies and something to tie her down. After that, we'll question her," they nodded. The woman lifted her head to glare at him and return the look tenfold, scaring the siblings. "As for you," he closed the distance between them. "If I find them hurt or dead when I come back...you'll wish that killed you earlier, got that?" he growled. Her answer was to spit in his face, earning her a punch to the face that knocked her out cold. He wiped his face clean. "I'll be back."
He took off to the sky, leaving the sibling to watch the unconscious woman.
"H-He's scary..." Page Whimpered.
"I know...it's kinda hot."
He looked at his sister in disbelief. "What the fuck?!"
End.
