Kiss me (before Sunrise)

"Do you think that on Earth the Sun also sets at seven at night?" It was Suletta's specific question as she looked at the artificial sky above them. The huge clock showed exactly seven o'clock and the artificial light was turned off to allow a nighttime atmosphere full of fake stars.

Miorine glanced at her Groom out of the corner of her eye. They were both on their way to her bedroom, Suletta would spend the night with Miorine, the pilot had to study for the first round of exams and Miorine said that it was her duty, as her Bride, to help her.

"No," Miorine responded in her usual dry tone. "The time of sunlight depends on the season of the year and the region of the planet where you live," she explained, she always tried to use patience and simple explanations with Suletta, but not because she considered Suletta stupid, quite the opposite. All of Suletta's practical knowledge was limited by her life on Mercury and the fantasies she fed through anime and manga. "Depending on the season of the year, the sun can rise from five or seven in the morning, and it can also set at five in the afternoon or eight at night. There are even regions of the Earth where there is sunlight for six months straight."

Suletta made a surprised face as she smiled happily.

"Miss Miorine, you know a lot of things."

"I've studied a lot of things about Earth since I plan to go there," Miorine shrugged. "My plan is to live in any region near the Equator Line; there is better weather."

Suletta suddenly felt embarrassed. "I'm so sorry I ruined your escape."

"Don't be. I suspect my father would have found me sooner rather than later and that would have made me even angrier," Miorine sighed deeply. "Thanks to you, at least I don't have to be with stupid Guel or any other idiot who only wants the wealth and power that comes with marrying me," she looked at Suletta very seriously. "You're a million times better."

Suletta swallowed and turned red up to her ears. In the months she had been at school, her stuttering had diminished enough for her to speak more clearly, but it only took half a compliment from Miorine to feel like her entire body was short-circuiting.

"I... Well... I-I have to t-take responsibility f-for what I did, plus now I-I'm your Groom and I w-want to help you in any way I can. I want to f-fight for you until the day you can live on Earth," Suletta said softly as she played her fingers with each other and her body shrank to make herself as small as possible.

To tell the truth, the tall and strong Gundam pilot looked ridiculous like that, that's what Miorine thought and she couldn't help but smile, because that ridiculous girl was her pretty Groom. Miorine couldn't help but take her hand and regain her serious expression.

"Walk straight, you are my Groom," she ordered.

"Yes!"

They walked hand in hand until they finally had the greenhouse in sight.

"When you go to Earth, I'll miss you," Suletta confessed, gently squeezing Miorine's small hand.

The school princess frowned, her heart tightened inside her chest and her first reaction was to get angry at her.

"Stupid, don't think you'll get rid of me so easily!" Despite her claim, Miorine didn't look at Suletta. "You're my Groom. You have to take responsibility for everything, don't forget that."

Suletta got a little confused and didn't understand the meaning behind Miorine's words. The tall pilot tilted her head slightly.

"B-but I'm already taking responsibility, I haven't lost any duels."

Miorine frowned but did not elaborate further. She decided to end the topic and she let go of Suletta as soon as they reached the building and her bedroom.

Their night of studying passed without incident, Miorine teaching Suletta and Suletta learning slowly but effectively. Maybe the pilot wouldn't get the highest grades in school, but she wouldn't fail either. One detail worth mentioning was that half of Suletta's nightwear was in the female dormitory of Earth House, and the other half was in Miorine's room.

After studying, they took turns showering, changed into their pajamas, and slept together on the only bed in the room.

Suletta looked at Miorine's back; her Bride normally slept against the wall with her back to her. The bed was narrow and Suletta really liked feeling Miorine's warmth and scent.

"Miss Miorine..."

"What's wrong, Suletta? You should sleep now; you have a test in the morning."

Suletta smiled. "Yes, after seven, when there is sunlight." The pilot couldn't resist getting a little closer to Miorine, just a little closer, without completely invading her personal space.

Miorine tensed as she felt Suletta's warmth close to her back. She wasn't going to confess out loud that she considered Suletta a very warm girl.

"When we talked about sunrises and sunsets, I remember reading a manga about a girl who really wanted the boy she liked to kiss her right before sunrise, because that was the first thing she wanted to feel when she woke up," Suletta said while smiling. It wasn't a bad idea to look for that manga in Aerial's virtual library. She had been so busy at school that she hadn't had time to read and watch shows with Aerial. "And also that she wanted to feel a kiss after sunset."

Miorine was silent for a few seconds and then sighed heavily. "Lame."

"Huh? I think that's cute and very romantic."

"You really like cheesy things," Miorine didn't resist and moved enough to reach one of Suletta's arms and make her come closer to her. Suletta's arm officially rested on Miorine's waist, Miorine's back against Suletta's chest, both girls properly spooning. "Sleep."

Suletta pouted but her disappointment didn't last long either, she was busier processing Miorine's sudden closeness. Her Bride's warmth was so relaxing.

"Wouldn't you like to receive a kiss before the sun raises, Miss Miorine?"

"No. Go to sleep now."

"Okay," Suletta said and finally yawned, a sign that she was genuinely tired after studying intensely for several hours. "Good night, Miss Miorine. Have sweet dreams."

"You too, Suletta. Good night."

The night passed, silent.

Miorine woke up before the alarm. It was just before seven o'clock. After rubbing her eyes, Miorine frowned as she remembered Suletta's words.

"A kiss before sunrise," Miorine murmured. The girl swallowed and slowly turned around so she could face Suletta.

Suletta's peaceful sleeping face was criminally cute, that silly girl had no right to look so cute while she was sleeping! Miorine growled as she involuntarily stared at Suletta's lips.

A kiss before sunrise...

But it wasn't right to kiss someone who wasn't awake, that would be abusing Suletta's trust... But Suletta was her Groom! She supposed she could kiss her whenever she wanted. Miorine swallowed and frowned. Miorine decided to attack head on; she had no time to waste.

"Hey, Suletta, wake up, you need to get ready for class."

Suletta murmured something without waking up, then smiled and pressed Miorine closer to her body. Miorine growled.

"Suletta!"

"Hmm?"

"It's not sunrise yet."

Silence.

"Sunrise?" Suletta slowly began to wake up.

"It must be before sunrise, right?"

Until that moment Suletta reacted and opened her eyes, only to see that the face of her Bride came closer to her and gave her a brief, sweet and soft kiss on her lips.

Suletta's entire body trembled, her heart trembled with joy and she reciprocated the kiss for half a second before Miorine finally escaped from Suletta's arms. Her Bride wasn't looking at her.

"If you get a good grade on your test, I'll consider what you said about the sunset one."

Suletta smiled lovingly, she was so lost in love with Miorine! The pilot sighed deeply and nodded obediently.

"I'll get a good grade."

"Good, now go and get ready, go."

Suletta nodded several times, but before obeying her Bride's order, she was the one who leaned in to kiss Miorine's cheek.

"Good morning, Miss Miorine."

An angry Miorine turned red as a tomato, grabbed her blanket and covered herself up to her head. "Good morning."

Suletta smiled, too happy. She couldn't wait until sunset.
