Jaune Arc, The Mary Sue

Preface:

You probably won't see why this is a Mary Sue parody story until the second half of the story. But, after reaching that point, it'll become pretty clear.

Chapter 1 - Jaune Arc, The Mary Sue

""Once, the might Oum said, let there be Lighting. And there was Lighting."

"Once, the mighty Oum said, let there be Choreography. And there was Choreography."

"Once, the might Oum said: "Let there be adorable, badass little Red Riding Hoods. And so was Ruby Rose born."

"Once, the might Oum said: "Let there be elegant, pretty petite Snow Whites. And so was Weiss Schnee born."

"Once, the might Oum said: "Let there be refined, sneaky ninja Beauties with Beasts. And so was Blake Belladonna born."

"Once, the might Oum said: "Let there be sexy, mature long-haired Brawler Rapunzels. And so was Yang Xiao-Long born."

"Once, the might Oum said: "Let there be a world of monsters and those who slay them, a world a fraction of what it once was."

And so, the World of Remnant was born...

Book of Oum, Creation of the Fantasy World of Remnant 1:1"

"Alright, dad." Jaune sighed, "It's time to go back in the house!"

His dad, Jackson, just sat in his wheelchair, muttering again, and repeating the same things over and over again, about things Jaune didn't understand.

He had never quite been the same after that archeological expedition to the borders of the Grimm-lands. It was supposed to have been a simple, easy trip. There weren't many Grimm around that area, most of the being focused more in the center and the depths of the Grimmlands, but they had brought along about ten or twenty huntsman anyways, just to be safe. One of which included Jaune's dad, Jackson Arc.

The expedition was even led by a famous professor from Beacon, Professor Ughbleck, or something, as Jaune recalled his dad telling him before he went on the trip.

But whatever had happened on that trip had broken the minds of those who had returned. A scant few, among which Jaune's dad was one.

The professor seemed to have been the only one who managed to return any semblance of his sanity, but even he retired from his post at Beacon shortly afterwards.

Their family had never been quite the same since.

Jaune just sighed. He felt bad for planning to leave his family with their dad like this, but he had had his own dreams to accomplish, too.

And he didn't want to be tied down to his family forever, without at least achieving some measure of independence. Plus, who knows? Maybe after he became a huntsman, he could try to get the bottom of the mystery as to whether expedition team saw that day, and why they all gone insane. Maybe even find a cure.

...But that was all talk for the future.

For now, he had to make preparations for his entrance into Beacon Academy.

...Including his faked transcripts.

A few weeks later...

Ozpin sighed, as he reviewed yet another student's fake transcripts, as filtered out by Glynda.

Was it really so much to ask for that these unqualified students try to get some kind of training before applying to Vale's most rigorous and demanding school for aspiring huntsman? Thy were supposed to be there to protect the future of Vale

Thy were supposed to be there to protect the future of Vale, after all. Not just to fulfill their own personal dreams of glory and satisfaction.

Nevertheless, Ozpin had decided this year to do something about it - normally, he'd just let it go, and let the unqualified students see for themselves just how far behind they really were. And if they still somehow managed to keep up and catch up! Great! Another defender for the innocent lives and Remnant as a whole.

But the bodies and lawsuits were piling up, so he really needed to cut down on reported student deaths and mysterious abscences during Beacon's initiation trials.

Ozpin couldn't just magic everything away, after all (as much as he'd like to).

Ozpin read the next one. Jaune Arc, huh? From the prestigious Arc family established by Jeanne?

Well, probably just another case of an overprotective family refusing to train their youngest. That was becoming an increasingly common phenomenon, recently.

Ozpin sighed. Well, he'd at least try to let off the descent of his old comrade down easily.

Tell him he knew about the fake transcripts, scold him, then give him some words of encouragement, and recommend some training and reapplying in a few years.

Well, that was what he was going to tell most of the fake applicants he was going to call in today. But with extra words of encouragement.

After all, if he was of Jeanne's blood, he almost certainly had at least some potential, just waiting to be tapped into.

At least, that was what Ozpin had thought, until the boy, no, the young man himself had actually walked into his office.

Jaune swallowed, incredibly nervous, as he walked into the Headmaster's office.

Jaune could feel his body shaking, and his breath shallow, as he prepared for what was to come. 'This is about my fake transcripts, isn't it?'

For some reason, the headmaster looked a little bit anxious and nervous, though Jaune couldn't blame. It probably wasn't easy for him to bring these things up, either.

"Mister...Arc..." Ozpin started, "I..."

He seemed to pause, as if trying to consider what to say.

Ozpin cleared his thought. "Your...transcripts are quite clearly fake." He began.

Jaune's heart skipped a beat.

"So, may I ask why you felt the need to do so, sir?"

Jaune started sweating nervously, "I, I, well sir, I don't have any formal experience," Jaune started, trying to think his way out of the dilemma, "But I felt like despite that, I had enough experience to be qualified as a student, having experience acting as a huntsman out in the wild..." A bold-faced half-truth of Jaune's part.

Ozpin hummed, though whether that was a good hum or a bad hum, Jaune didn't had no idea.

"May I ask, why Beacon?" Ozpin continued, "Surely, with your vast expense of prowess and expertise, surely there would be many other things you could be doing?"

Jaune laughed nervously. Had the headmaster already seen through him, so easily?

"I, I, uh, wanted to experience the student huntsman life, you know? Because it's something I never had the chance to experience before!"

Ozpin looked at him, curiously, one eyebrow raised.

"Plus, I, I'm sure that there are some things your school teaches that I've never learned about before!" Jaune quickly added, to try to appeal to Ozpin.

"I'm sure it would be a great learn experience!" Jaune finished, "For me, and for you!" Jaune nervously added.

'Wait, what the heck am I even saying now?' Jaune thought to himself, 'I totally just blundered on that last part, there's no way he's gonna accept me, now!'

Ozpin chocked on his coffee a little bit. Coughing into his hand, Ozpin cleared his throat. "Well, Mister Arc..." He began...

Jaune froze. 'Here it comes, just make it quick, please...'

"We'd love to have you." Ozpin finished, extending out his hand, as a gesture of acceptance, "I only hope you'll use your powers for the good of Vale, and the World."

Jaune looked on, shocked, but happy, as he had taken the headmaster's hand into his own before he even knew. Jaune laughed, happily and relieved.

"Yeah, yeah, of course! You bet! No doubt about it! Thank you, mister headmaster!"

Ozpin nodded. "Yes, of course. Anything for a man of your caliber, Mister Arc."

"Now, if you'll excuse me..." He said, I do have some other matter to attend to, as well."

Jaune nodded and quickly left. Little did he know, as soon as he did, Ozpin quickly headed for his intercommunications device with Mrs. Goodwitch.

"Glynda, if you could, would you please..."

Ozpin's POV

When the boy, no, the man, had walked into his office, he had been completely different to what Ozpin had been expected.

Ozpin had expected another nervous young and incompetent figure to stand there, just as so many other faked applicants had.

Instead, there stood a veritable Hercules before him, a man that seemed more deity than human before him, body radiating radiating and literally shaking with power.

Ozpin didn't know why, but he could sense that in the young man's body, the presence of the Brother Grimm of Light's power within the boy.

No, it wasn't just that, but also that of the Brother Grimm of Darkness.

As well as a power that seemed to be even further beyond (much further beyond) than them.

...Could it have been? The lost power of the Creator of Remnant, then known by a different name in the early days of their World.

...The power of the lost "Oum", spoken about only in legends, back even in his early days of youth?

"Mister...Arc..." Ozpin started, "I..."

Ozpin paused, trying to consider his words carefully.

Ozpin, not knowing how to start, just blurted out the first words on his mind. "Your...transcripts are quite clearly fake."

Ozpin kicked himself, internally, though the figure of the young man before him didn't seem to mind at all.

"So, may I ask why you felt the need to do so, sir...?"

The one before him answered quite confidently, "Well sir, I don't have any formal experience," He said, echoing back Ozpin's sir, as if in sarcastic amusement, "But I felt like despite that, I had enough experience to be qualified as a student, having experience acting as a huntsman out in the wild..."

Ozpin hummed in agreement, though saying only that much was clearly a very big understatement.

"May I ask, why Beacon?" Ozpin asked, genuinely curios. After all, with that much power in his hands...

"Surely, with your vast expense of prowess and expertise, surely there would be many other things you could be doing?"

Clearing the World of Grimm, for example? Or challenging Salem for the sake of Remnant...

"I wanted to experience the student huntsman life, you know? Because it's something I never had the chance to experience before."

Ozpin looked at him curiously, one eyebrow raised. Was that enough reason? Surely, he could be using his power to much greater effect, for the sake of everyone on the world if Remnant! Still, Ozpin feared to say that aloud, lest he offend the man who held such tremendous power in the tip of his hands.

"Plus, I'm sure that there are some things your school teaches that I've never learned about before." He added, as if covertly testing Ozpin. "I'm sure it would be a great learn experience." He said, slowly, and confidently, "For me, and for you." Ozpin could sense the veiled threat hidden in those words.

Ozpin broke out into a cold sweat, as he chocked fiercely on his coffee, though he managed to hide it quite well.

Coughing into his hand, Ozpin quickly and hurriedly cleared his throat, not wanting to keep the man before him waiting any longer.

"Well, Mister Arc..." He began, "We'd love to have you." He said, extending out his hand, as a gesture of submission, "I only hope you'll use your powers for the good of Vale, and the World."

Ozpin hoped he didn't come off as too strong or too nervous in pushing his intentions on to the young man like that, but he was relieved when he saw the young man laughing jovially instead.

"Yes, yes, of course." The man assured him, quite confidently, as though he had something planned himself, "No doubt about it. Thank you, mister headmaster."

Again, there was that sarcastic tone in his voice. If it was anybody else, Ozpin might've taken offense. But a man of Jaune's immense power? No way.

"Yes, of course. Anything for a man of your caliber, Mister Arc."

"Now, if you'll excuse me..." Ozpin said, hoping he wasn't too rude, "I do have some other matter to attend to, as well."

Thankfully, Jaune didn't seem to take any particular offense to that, striding off slowly and slowly after having nodded in affirmation.

Little did he know, as soon as he did, Ozpin quickly headed for his intercommunications device with Mrs. Goodwitch.

"Glynda, if you could, would you please fetch me a pair of new pants?"

"Sir...?"

"I...may have browned mine a little bit." Ozpin admitted, nonchalantly.

"Sir?!"

Author's Notes:

Jaune's view of things is more objectively true. Ozpin's is just being distorted by the presence of the powers in Jaune lol. Which only activate when he's nervous lol.

But that's how it's gonna be for a lot. Dunno if there'll be a perspective flip like this again, but there might be a similar conversation with General Ironwood later. Only general Ironwood will think Jaune's trying to threaten him while Jaune's just trying to answer nervously, and Ironwood is being a lot more hardline lol. General Ironwood would probably be a lot hard to convince, but allow some concession in the face of Jaune's overwhelming presenting.

The ending of their conversation would definitely echo the end of this chapter, though. Only with Ironwood and Winter instead of Ozpin and Glynda.

What's still in store for Jaune, you might ask? Jaune accidentally blowing away mountains, killing thousands of villagers (nobody blames him for it, though), lots and lots of unwanted attention from super clingy girls, etc. It'll be a wild ride for Jaune.

Honestly, by the end of the whole story, Jaune will probably be so tired of these whole misunderstandings and everything, that he would just want to be normal lol.

Next chapter preview (during initiation):

"Oh! Oh, Jaune! It's so big, and thick, and warm, and..." Pyrrha sighed suggestively, as her face flushed crimson, matching the color of her hair.

Jaune blushed as he just stood there, waiting for Pyrrha to complete the ceremony. "Uh...we, we are still just talking about my aura, right...?"

Pyrrha didn't seem to hear him, as she let a dreamy sigh, her eyes completely glazed over in pleasure.
