I remember I promised you that I was working on a story and here it is. This story will involve romance and supernatural powers.

I hope you like it.

'I want you to remember you are the heart of the sacred amour.' a male deep gentle voice said. 'In a thousand years, the seeker appears, and the ghost clan vanishes into the gate.' he said again. 'Find the seeker before it's too late" he warned.

Jan Di awakened hot from her dream. That was the same dream that she had every time she went to sleep ever since she was five years old. She had no idea what it meant or how it had anything to do with her life. The dream was always vivid as if it was trying to tell her something crucial, something she needed to do as a person. She was no normal human, though, for she had learned one of her skills was the ability to stop or reverse time, and she could cure herself with just a drop of water. What exactly was she? A regular human person or an immortal disguised as a human.

"Water," she mumbled, then remembered she had a biochemistry test today. "Oh no," She checked the time and saw that it was only five minutes till the test. She sipped the water fast and hurried out of her hostel room, hoping to make it to the test on time. She attempted to recollect all of the main topics she had studied for the test as she headed toward the lecture hall.

Ji Hoo, as he walked in, he saw Jan Di in her disarray, rushing to class. He then recalled the first day he met her. She was in the same state of manner when she pumped him as he walked into the lecture room on their first day at Shinhwa University. He was struck by her beauty and grace, and he knew right then that he had to get to know her better. As fate would have it, they ended up in the same study group and became close friends over the semester, but when he told her that he was the guild president, she distanced herself from him, which hurt him the most. He couldn't understand why she was avoiding him because he was the guild president. And to make matters worse, she found out that he was also part of the F4, which cut off all his connections with her. He wanted to reach out to her and get her to think positively about him, but the F4 record had ruined the slightest bit of friendship that had grown between them.

The F4 were known since high school for being high and mighty above all students and being the heirs to the most prominent families, which gave them leverage to do whatever they wanted. Despite his efforts to repair their friendship, the F4's reputation and entitlement had created an insurmountable barrier between them. Their social status seemed to always come before any genuine connection they might have had.

"Good morning," he asked, hopefully, this time expecting an answer from her since they were standing on the same side of the door leading into the big lecture room that had students who seemed not to be interested in the test they had in a few minutes.

Jan Di glanced at him, wishing to have used another path, but being polite, she replied, "Good morning, and proceeded inside. As she walked towards her seat, she noticed that he was following her and hoped he wouldn't sit next to her. Unfortunately, luck wasn't on her side as he took the seat next to hers and started a conversation.

"I hope this time the test we do is in a group that way we can share ideas," he began leaning closer to her, and her perfume, that sweet, fruity scent of peaches with a hint of mint, filled his nostrils. It was a unique scent since he knew her well and knew she didn't wear any perfume on her body or wear any makeup. She was natural all over.

She smiled politely, trying to hide her discomfort as she silently prayed for the conversation to end soon, and luckily, the lecturer walked in and said, "The test will be in groups." He declared.

Ji Hoo secretly smiled, relieved that he was going to spend three hours talking to Jan Di, even if it was just discussing answers. He would be with her, and he wouldn't miss a chance of touching her slightly while sharing ideas and answers. Ji Hoo went to get the paper and answer sheets from the lecturer, and when he returned, he asked Jan Di to walk to the corner of the room so they could work without being disturbed.

Jan Di agreed, and they walked to the corner of the room. Ji Hoo had wrapped his hand around her shoulder, which luckily she didn't push away. He cleaned the table and pulled out a chair for both of them to sit in. The test had three sections. The first section was multiple choice, the second was a short answer, and the third was an essay question.

Taking advantage of her closeness, Ji Hoo tentatively tucked strands of hair behind her ear, bringing the full view of her face. He then saw how tense she became, but she then relaxed when he drew the test paper in front of her. "Which section should we begin with?" he asked, his one hand holding the paper while another was on her bare shoulder since she was wearing a pink floral cami dress that exposed her collarbone, sightly her back, and her shoulders. Her skin was white, soft, and smooth.

She looked up at him and smiled. "Let's start with the multiple-choice questions," she replied, her voice steady now.

"OK," they both focused on the questions and answered them and since Ji Hoo had better handwriting than her, he was writing out the answers. As they answered most of the questions, Ji Hoo couldn't help but see Jan Di hold her stomach.

"Are you hungry?" he asked.

Jan Di shook her head and gulped down her saliva, yearning for some chocolate. She was used to having them during this time of every month. She remembered her best friend telling her about the benefits of dark chocolate and how it could help with menstrual cramps, making her crave it even more, and how Ji Hoo would give it to her as a simple gesture but he had stopped the previous month due to their fight.

"Are you-" he swallowed, not daring to look at her as he had noticed her face glowing with another beauty in her "Are you perhaps in your periods?" he asked softly, and her reaction on the face was his answer. He didn't have time to regret it as he dug in his pocket for a bar of chocolate. Ji Hoo always carried chocolates with him every morning for Jan Di

"This will ease your craving," he said, handing her the chocolate.

Jan Di looked at him and then at the bar. She hesitated for a moment before taking the chocolate from him and unwrapping it and she took a bite, a smile slowly spread across her face, and she felt her craving begin to subside.

"Can we continue now?" he asked as he wrapped his hand around her back, knowing a simple massage would reduce the pain she would be feeling.

She nodded and tried to put some distance between them, but he stopped by holding her waist before she could keep her distance. "I know I was wrong about hiding my past from you; I feared you would judge me, and that's why I kept it from you," he said tenderly to her, something he had been dying to say for over a month. He had been miserable the whole month without her by his side and sitting just next to her in the same chair, as she meant the world to him. He hoped she would forgive him and give him another chance to make things right. He promised to be honest with her from that moment on and never keep anything from her again.

"We should finish up the work," she said, looking away from that tender gaze he was giving her.

"But can we talk after the paper?" he requested, looking into her eyes. "Can we please sort this out together?"

"Sure," she replied at the same time regretting why she even agreed to talk with him in the first place.

After agreeing to talk to him, their minds both were focused on the biochemistry test for the next two hours, sharing ideas, answers, and essays. While the students kept glancing their way, Ji Hoo and Jan Di didn't mind whatever was being talked about behind their backs. Their concentration was so intense that they didn't notice the time passing. When they finally finished, they both felt confident about acing the test. "Well done," he said smiling while extending his hand to her.

She took it, and shook it with a small smile, "Well done to you too," she replied.

After three hours were up, Ji Hoo and Jan Di walked out of the room, and Ji Hoo asked her to meet at the stairwell, where their second encounter happened. Their second time meeting, she had been looking for somewhere to eat, and by chance, she found a secluded place in the stairwell. She smiled and walked in while Ji Hoo, who was there, was walking to the exit, leading them to collide and fall. As they both fell, Ji Hoo quickly grabbed her to prevent her from hitting the ground, but he hit it instead. They had looked into each other's eyes and felt an instant connection, as though they had known each other for years.

"I'm sorry," she apologized but kept lying on top of him. He didn't mind her weight on him, and he couldn't help but smile at her apology.

Jan Di felt her heart race as she made her way to the stairwell, wondering what Ji Hoo wanted to talk about. But then again, she knew he wanted to apologize for hiding the fact that he was part of the F4.

When she arrived, he looked at her with a serious expression and said, "I know we've only known each other for a short time, but I feel like there's something special between us." He approached her with slow steps, his gaze still on hers.

"Is that why you called me here?" she asked him, backing away from his closeness.

"No… I want to explain my side of the story," he said. "Can you give me that chance?" His voice was desperate.

"Sure,"

Ji Hoo smiled and led her to the table, which they'd been sharing at the stairwell ever since they met. She sat down, and he sat opposite her. "Why didn't you tell me that you are part of the F4?" she asked him.

Ji Hoo swallowed and opened the locker with a bowl of chicken soup. "Before I answer you, can you take this?"

Jan Di looked at the bowl, recalling that she was in her monthly period and was having dizzy spells now; if she didn't eat or drink, she would collapse. She quickly grabbed the bowl and started eating, hoping it would help her feel better. After a few minutes, she felt more energized and ready to continue the conversation.

Ji Hoo hesitatingly extended his hand to hers and began to explain how he was part of the F4. "Those are my childhood friends. We've been together for over 20 years. The things they do are not what they want to do. It's their loneliness." He explained. "We've known each other for months, and I am sorry that I overlooked this detail of my life. Can you please forgive me?"

"Ji Hoo—" She opened her mouth to speak but kept feeling numb just looking at the way Ji Hoo held her hand and pressed his lips on her knuckles. "Let's start afresh," Ji Hoo said, breaking the silence. "I know we've had our differences in the past, but I want to put that behind us and move forward together. Please?"

"I don't know what to say to you," she replied, looking away.

Ji Hoo walked over to her and took a seat beside her, wrapping his hand around her bare shoulder and drawing her into a soft embrace making her quiver for a bit. "Meeting you was the biggest change in my life. I never thought I could have a very close friend in my life who made me feel more alive than my best friends. You have brought so much joy and positivity into my life, and I am grateful for your friendship every day. I cherish the memories we have made together and look forward to creating many more in the future with you... only."

"I appreciate your honesty," she said.

"This previous month," he said, turning her to him and looking into her eyes. "I have missed you so much. I have missed eating together, seeing you smile, and hearing your voice. I have been counting down the days until we could be together again," he whispered, pulling her into a tight embrace. "I don't ever want to be apart from you for that long again."

Jan Di smiled at the feel of his arms around her. Yes, she had missed her friend so much and missed hearing him speak. She had also missed the flirty glances he throws at her when their gazes lock for a moment. She had also missed the simple hugs, the soft kisses he gives her on the cheek whenever he sees her. She had been amazed that she had been smiling ever since she met him, and the powers locked inside her body had been unlocked. And at some point, she wondered what role he played in her destiny because he also normally appeared in her dreams. She couldn't help but feel that there was a deeper connection between them, one that went beyond their physical interactions. Perhaps he held the key to unlocking her powers and the secrets of her past and future.

After the hug, Ji Hoo and Jan Di drew away. Ji Hoo looked at her with a gentle smile, his eyes reflecting the warmth of their embrace, and her heart skipped a beat as she realized how much she had missed him. He then raised his hand to her face and tucked the strands of hair behind her ear, looking for a way to describe how his heart felt for her. He had been harboring feelings for her, but the fact that she saw him as a friend made things difficult for him. They had just sorted out their differences, and now if he brought up the matters of his heart, he feared it would ruin their friendship, and he didn't want to risk losing her altogether. For now, he was content with having her as his best friend. He knew that their friendship was valuable, and he didn't want to ruin it with his romantic feelings. He decided to keep his feelings to himself and cherish the special bond they shared as friends.

"Do you want me to accompany you back to your hostel?" He inquired, running his fingers through her silky, long black hair, which fell to her waist and gave her a gorgeous appearance. His thoughts returned to the first time he met her. Despite the fact that she had bumped herself into him, the first thing he noticed was her beautiful hair, which was longer than usual. He was intrigued by the way her hair blew in the wind, and he remembered how she apologized profusely for the accident, her eyes gleaming with sincerity. He realized then that he wanted to get to know her better.

"Thank you, Ji Hoo," she replied with a smile.

"You're welcome," he replied, smiling, and then he softly pressed his lips in the corner of her mouth.

Ji Hoo and Jan Di walked back silently, each holding their bags. It was in the afternoon, but the weather didn't look good. It was cold, which wasn't good for her since she was having menstrual cramps, and Ji Hoo, being a gentleman, took off his coat and wrapped it around her. "Thank you," she said.

"Do you need medicine?" he asked, watching her clutch her stomach more.

"I will be fine; the pain is just for one day," she replied.

He insisted, "It's better to take some medicine now and avoid any complications later. I can go get it for you if you'd like."

Jan Di sighed and agreed, but as it was part of a woman's life, she guessed swallowing medicine was only to ease her pain. They both walked back to her hostel, which, although it wasn't big, was still cozy and elegant.

Ji Hoo was visiting her hostel for the first time since he had previously simply stopped at the door, but due to her illness, he was permitted to enter. And the immaculateness of the place greeted him the instant he walked in. The enormous single pink sofa in the center of the room looked inviting, and the fresh lavender aroma flooded his nostrils. The pink drapes that hung across the window, the light pink woolen carpet that covered the floor, and the fluffy pink pillows on the sofa completed the room's pleasant and feminine ambiance. The natural light streaming in through the window lit the room, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The small dining room has a small round table and three chairs attached to her small kitchen, which has small equipment. A small fridge is placed in the corner of the kitchen, leaving little space for movement. Despite their size, the dining room and kitchen are cozy and functional for a small family or couple.

"Can I get a tour of your bedroom?" he asked after looking around.

"Sure," she said, leading him to another door after the sitting room. She opened it and walked in, only to find her dog, Bark, peacefully sleeping on her bed. "Come in," she invited him. Bark slowly opened his eyes and wagged his tail, then jumped off the bed and ran towards her, excited to see her. She smiled and petted him, feeling happy for his company, while Ji Hoo took in the sight of her simple yet elegant room.

The room was painted pink, with lavender flowers on both sides of the queen-sized bed. The fluffy white woolen carpet that covered the room added a cozy touch to the overall ambiance. The large window overlooking the garden allowed natural light to flood in, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. 'Her room is very nice,' he thought, walking over to the bathroom, which was also small. The bathroom had a marble tile floor and a modern sink with a large mirror above it, making it seem more spacious than it actually was. Then there was the big bathtub that seemed custom-made just for her, with lavender flowers and scented candles on the ledge beside it, creating a relaxing and luxurious atmosphere perfect for unwinding after a long day.

"Wow!" he exclaimed, coming out of the bathroom. "Your hostel—" he said, but his words died down when he noticed her dog, using his teeth to grab the blanket and covering her with her pink covers while she slept. He couldn't help but smile at the sight of the dog's protective behavior toward its owner. He quietly tiptoed to her bed and sat at the edge, running the back of his hand on her cheek before leaning in to kiss softly on her lips. 'For now, I will kiss you secretly,' he walked out of the room, not wanting to disturb their peaceful slumber.

As Jan Di slept, Ji Hoo went to her kitchen to prepare something to eat and drink for her since she wasn't feeling well. He opened the fridge to get ingredients he could use to make a healthy and yummy dish that could replenish her energy. Ji Hoo carefully selected fresh fruits and vegetables from the fridge and began to chop them up into a colorful salad. He also brewed a pot of ginger tea, knowing it would help soothe Jan Di's upset stomach.

"Chicken stew with vegetables," he murmured, and he began to prepare. As he cut the chicken into pieces, her dog, Bark, jumped on the table and silently watched this strange newcomer in his owner's house. He smiled at the dog and gave him a piece of chicken as he continued to chop up the vegetables, adding them to the pot with a sprinkle of seasoning. "Do you think she will like it?" he asked the dog.

Bark wagged his tail and looked back at Ji Hoo. He then barked twice.

Ji Hoo chuckled softly and continued to prepare the food. After that, he took the dog off the table and took it to the couch. As he sat down, the dog jumped on his lap and snuggled up to him. Ji Hoo smiled and stroked the dog's fur, feeling a sense of comfort and warmth while Jan Di rested. He was happy that he didn't have any more lectures for the day, coursework, or projects to do.

After three hours of sleeping, Jan Di finally awoke with her dog licking her face. She then recalled having that dream again. This time, she saw herself standing in the clouds, holding a man's hand who had long golden hair with a familiar scent. He was smiling brightly at her as they watched the world at peace, with no more wars. It was a good feeling that she wanted to keep dreaming.

"What did that dream mean?" She asked herself while she grabbed her towel to go to the bathroom and shower. After that, she came out refreshed, and the smell of good food welcomed her. Recalling that Ji Hoo had come to her hostel, she rushed to the living room to find him watching some movie on the TV with Bark beside him.

"You finally woke up," Ji Hoo said, rising from the couch. "The sun is setting; how will you sleep at night?"

"I thought you left," she said, approaching him while he did the same.

He smiled at her and replied, "I couldn't leave without saying goodbye."

"I'm sorry—" she began to apologize, but Ji Hoo hushed her by placing a finger on her lips. He looked at her intently and said, "You don't have to apologize. I understand." Then he pulled her into a warm embrace, cherishing the last few moments they had together.

"I should cook for you then."

"No need; I already cooked; we can eat," he said, leading her to the dining table, which was already set. He pulled out the chair for her. She smiled and sat down, admiring the beautiful table setting. The aroma of the food filled the room, making her stomach growl with hunger. Ji Hoo then took a seat opposite her and poured her a glass of cocktail juice. She thanked him and took a sip, feeling the coolness of the drink soothe her parched throat.

"What did you cook?" she asked with eagerness in her voice.

"Chicken stew," he replied, feeling her bowl. "It will help you since you are in your...um...periods." She smiled gratefully and took a spoonful of the stew, savoring the warm and comforting flavors. "Thank you so much," she said, feeling touched by his generosity.

"So how is that girl you fancy doing?" Yoon Seo Young asked his grandson. "Did you sort things out together?"

"Yes, we did." Ji Hoo replied.

Yoon Seok Young smiled and walked over to the couch where Ji Hoo sat. "Did you tell her how you feel?" he asked his voice full of excitement.

He shook his head, looking up at the ceiling, which had expensive chandeliers hanging from it. "I couldn't bring myself to do it. I just cleared up the misunderstandings between us, and for now, am content with the friendship we share."

"What if someone takes her away?" His grandfather tried to reason with him. "Then what will you do?"

"I don't know, grandfather, but I wish to fix my friendship with her, get closer to her than before, and then tell her how I feel."

Yoon Seo Young looked at his grandson, grinned mischievously, and stated. "Every girl loves chocolate and flowers. But they like being complimented as well. Compliments can make a girl feel appreciated and valued, which can go a long way in building a strong and healthy relationship. It's important to be genuine and specific with your compliments, highlighting the qualities you admire in her." he added.

"But where do I start from, to compliment her?"

"Valentine's Day is soon coming. Why don't you ask her out?"

That was the first chapter
