The Rangers got inside the giant temple and were completely amazed at the architecture inside. The statues of their Zords lined them up forming the path to the Power Cube in the center of the room that Tobias and Michael noticed while the others admired the internal layout of the ancient structure.
"Tobias is that the thing you were talking about?" Michael asked.
"Yep. Oh we should be careful where we step." Tobias warned.
"Why?" Xander asked.
A roar shook the place as a Zord came charging at them and jumped over the Power Cube and landed in front of Tobias and the others. The creature gave another mighty roar as Tobias stood his ground but everyone else was on guard. The Zord had what seemed like an angry expression as it stared down everyone.
"Tobias I think you need to get away from that thing!" Zach called out.
"If anything we should morph and be ready to fight." Brett suggested.
"Wait you actually think we are capable of fighting a Zord?! Are you crazy?" Xander said shocked.
"Tobias you need to super speed out of there." Michael said.
The Zord was breathing furiously and Tobias lifted his hand up as his Dino Gem transformed into his morpher with the Zord's faceplate replacing it. The morpher was its face with green eyes and a horn coming off the mouth and horns sticking out the backside of the morpher.
"Hey buddy its okay. I know you were waiting for me and you don't have too any longer. I'm here now." Tobias said as he reached out and rubbed his hand on the side of its face. The Styraco Zord let up the pent up anger of waiting for so long as it gave out a relieving coo sound and slowly move forward nudging him with the side of its nose.
"See Styraco Zord is not a threat it's just mad that I have been ignoring it." Tobias said as the rest of the team calmed down.
"Yep he's definitely my kid if he's that reckless." Michael said relieved that his son was going to be okay.
Austin Pappert appeared next to the Zord with his hands behind his back.
"Hello there Power Rangers." He said politely.
Everyone quickly stared at the spiritual person who had appeared before them. The man was in a white spiritual robe as he was glowing radiantly with a smile on his face.
"Hey relative." Brett said back to him.
"So what do I have to do to get the Shield powered up?" Tobias asked eager to obtain his new power. Austin nodded back to Brett before turning his attention to Tobias.
"Hold out your hand and imagine the Shield of Triumph forming in it." Austin said.
Tobias closed his eyes as he slowly raised his arm out and in just moments the Shield materialized with the blade tucked away inside.
The Zord stepped to the side revealing the pedestal with the Shield imprint inside it as Austin pointed, "Place you're Shield into the imprint and the diamond around the Power Cube will lower as it transfers the energy from the Styraco Zord into your Shield.
Tobias slowly began walking up to the pedestal and gently laid his Shield into it. When he did a clank sound was made and the light from the Power Cube began illuminating the room. The diamond began melting like ice to a flame as it turned into a tube connecting the Cube to the pedestal. Light began moving through it and a beam of the light attached itself to Styraco Zord as the mighty creature laid itself on the ground allowing the power to transfer.
"It'll be a bit for the power to full transfer but until then do not remove the Shield from the pedestal nor the Power Cube." Austin instructed.
"Austin how did all of this happen? How did this world come to be?" Brett asked.
"You know I was curious as well. There are so many questions we have to this cube's existence, the creation of Mesogog, and everything we've been through." Xander asked.
"That is a story for another time Rangers. I think its best of something you guys should see for yourself. With the help of the Power Cube I've put a program inside the super computer in your guy's underground hideout. I will give Brett the ability to access it and you guys will not only get your answers but you'll see things through my eyes as if you were there." Austin said as he walked over to Brett and placed his hand on his head. In a flash Brett was given all the information he needed to access the secret file of the creation of Mesogog.
The temple floor began to shake as everyone began looking all around the building. In just seconds a gold streak came speeding through the doors and zipping past the Rangers. The streak that ran by them stood on top of the Tricera Zord statue.
"You guys must be the Power Rangers my master has told me about!" the creature said with his hands outstretched towards them.
"How the hell did you get in here?!" Xander asked surprised.
The creature scoffed as he became a gold streak again and ran down and grabbed Xander by the throat as he lifted him up into the air.
"Doesn't this seem more fitting for that of the Ptera Zord Ranger?" the creature said as he looked at everyone. "Hi everyone! The name is Golden Rod. I was born of the part of Zeltrax so I guess you can say that I'm his son." Golden Rod said cheerfully. The muscles on his arm holding Xander by the throat began to tighten and Xander was making weird noises as he tried to break free from Golden Rod's grasp.
"LET HIM GO!" Tobias and Michael said as they both super sped to Golden Rod. Golden Rod kicked Michael in the chest and kicked Tobias in his side.
Zach came charging in for his friend but Golden Rod didn't even need to look as he made a fist with his free hand and back fist him across the face knocking Zach to the ground.
Xander's arms were giving out and his face began changing colors as his life was rapidly being taken from him.
"I honestly didn't know how easy it was to just kill you guys in human form. It's kind of sad really that the Power Rangers are so weak if not transformed. I was hoping for more of a fight. Hey where is your Black Ranger?" Golden Rod asked. He looked around and in a second he felt something heavy smash into his elbow holding Xander. Xander fell to the ground and Tobias got up and super sped to get him out of harm's way.
"Ouch that hurt." Golden Rod said.
"You are quick to underestimate us." Brett said with anger in his eyes.
"Am I now?" Golden Rod said as he super sped behind Brett and grabbed him up and chucked him across the temple. Michael sped to catch him and bring him back to the others as Zach ran up to Xander who was just getting off the ground coughing and getting air back into his lungs.
"Are you okay?" He asked him.
"I'm-I'm fine..." He said still coughing.
The color on his face reverted back to normal as Golden Rod began slapping his hands together.
"I hope you are ready for more death like experiences." Golden Rod threatened.
"We need to morph we can't fight him in our current state." Tobias commanded.
The Rangers brought their morphers to their chests.
"Ready?" Tobias asked.
"READY!" the others called out.
"As if I'd let you." Golden Rod said as he super sped to take them out.
Tobias couldn't react to his speed in time, but Michael was able too. Michael got in front of Tobias catching the fist his son would've received and stopping Golden Rod.
"Erk…You guys transform! I'm fast enough to try and catch his movements! I'll be right behind you!" Michael said as he and Golden Rod began a battle of speed zipping around the battlefield trying to keep up with Golden Rod and keeping him away from the others.
"Let's hurry guys!" Zach said as everyone's Dino Gems transformed.
"Dinothunder! Power Up!"
Everyone took to their normal stances and transformed as summoned out each of their weapons.
"Tyranno Staff!"
"Ptera Grips!"
"Tricera Shield!"
"Brachio Staff!"
The weapons materialized into the Ranger's hands as they charged in towards Golden Rod. Michael went to do an uppercut but Rod was quicker as he arm barred his attack away and hitting him across the face. Golden Rod grabbed Michael by the throat and held him up to use as a shield as Brett was the first one to come in with a slash. Brett stopped his attack in time as his blade was an inch away from Michael's face. Michael was fighting to breathe and in the split second reached for his morpher as all the Rangers stopped their assault afraid of hitting their comrade. Tobias began making a fist as he realized that Golden Rod could end his father's life in a second. Tobias then had an idea as he dropped his Staff.
"Heh giving up? Not something a Leader should be the first to do." Golden Rod said.
Michael's morpher transformed causing Golden Rod to shift his attention to him and in that moment Tobias grabbed his sword on his hip and with quick speed charged at Golden Rod and was able to break pass the range to use Michael as a meat shield and when he did Tobias slashed at Golden Rod's side before turning the sword into a gun and planting it into the elbow that kept Michael off the ground and pulled the trigger as multiple blasts were shot into Rod's arm causing his father to fall.
"Brachio Staff: Wind Strike!"
Brett stabbed his weapon into the ground as a ball of wind wrapped around Michael and carried him away from harm's way. When Michael got to a safe distance Tobias put the gun under Golden Rod's chin with an inverted grip. He went to fire but Golden Rod began to glow and as the trigger was pulled, the enemy wasn't there anymore and in just a second the Rangers felt a barrage of attacks hit them but Tobias was slashed at the side and sent flying across the battlefield. Tobias was getting up off the ground to get back into the fight but as he got up Golden Rod sent a yellow ball of energy at him and as it made impact a giant explosion formed around him as Tobias whole body went into shock and as the smoke began to clear he was standing with his head held up high to the ceiling. His Ranger Form began to fade away as his human form fell to the ground face first. Blood was pouring down his face and his clothes having major rips and tears all over. His body had a bunch of dark bruise spots and when his face hit the ground he passed out from the pain.
The Power Rangers stopped as they watched Tobias fall to the ground slowly and Michael saw this as something snapped inside him.
"THAT'S MY SON YOU MONSTER!" Michael said as his Dino Gem changed.
"If you think you can then by all means go ahead and try. I've been messing around with you guys like a bully on a playground." Golden Rod chuckled.
"WHITE RANGER DINO POWER!"
Michael charged at Golden Rod and leapt into the air as his armor came flying through the air and attached themselves on his body. He had one arm cocked back as waves of black and white energy pulsated around his fist. As he fell to the ground he slammed his fists into the ground causing a shockwave of energy to be released ripping through the grounds foundation and sending Golden Rod flying into a wall. Upon impact he began laughing like this was all a hilarious joke to him. Michael super sped from the battle field and in an instant was directly in front of his opponent who was still laughing.
"What's so funny?" Michael asked as he charged up both his fists.
"Just how much stronger I am than all of you combined! I can't believe Mesogog had such a hard time with such weaklings!" Golden Rod said.
"Tch. You think I'm weak? Let's see you say that when all your body parts are broken and you're begging for mercy on the ground like the damn insect you are!" Michael said as he brought both his arms back.
"White Jurassic Overdrive!"
Michael began rapid firing his punches hitting random spots into the trapped opponent. Cracks in the wall began spreading throughout the temple with every solid punch. Michael was hitting harder than he ever had with this combo but for every strike he didn't hear the sounds of snapping so he kept hitting as hard as he could thinking he would break through the defenses that his enemy's body has.
"Are my attacks even doing any damage to him at all? He's not even moaning in pain." Michael thought. He then cocked back one hand as a black flame like power built up around it and he did a haymaker right into Golden Rod's face that sent out powerful vibrations that violently shook the entire temple. A huge gust of dust formed around the two and Michael couldn't see Golden Rod due to the thickness.
"Everyone get ready to use your power moves. I'm going to back you up with my Brachio Staff. Xander you'll need to get in close and be relentless with your slashes. Zach fire off a shot from your horn and then provide defensive back up for Xander using your shield. Michael get out of there! He's not dead yet!" Brett called out but Michael was in such anger at Tobias's defeat and warped in his mind that he didn't hear them.
In a quick instant Golden Rod's hands crossed over in an X shape as a bright light illuminated through the dust. Michael noticed this and quickly jumped back in an attempt to dodge but was immediately hit by the beam of light sending him through one of the statues of the Zords. He rolled onto the ground until he slammed up against the wall. The wind was knocked out of him as his body was numb as if he was paralyzed.
"The hell? My body won't move." He thought as sparks of light were zipping around his body. "His attack paralyzes the body? This isn't good. I have to warn the others." He went to open his mouth but it was locked in place. "I can't speak!" He thought shocked.
Golden Rod used his hands to put on the side of the walls as he supported himself out of the hole. He began slapping his hands together as he turned his neck sideways with loud snaps.
"He took one of Michael's most powerful blows and is still standing?!" Zach said shocked.
"I think you guys should go into Super Dino Mode. Our normal modes aren't going to cut it here." Brett suggested.
Zach and Xander crossed their arms over their chests as a bright light formed around them.
"Super Dino Mode!"
The two transformed as Zach lifted his shield up.
"XANDER GO!" Zach called out as Xander began running at a fast speed and his Ptera Grips began glowing bright yellow.
Rings of light were up and down Golden Rod's arms as he gave a chuckle and started walking towards Xander.
"I love it when the prey runs to their death." He began cackling as he went to assume a fighting stance.
Zach put one arm on his elbow that supported his shield and aimed the horn directly at Golden Rod.
"Dino Shot!"
The horn ejected out of his shield as it made its way to Golden Rod. The enemy saw the horn at last second and raised his arm up to block it and when he got it, the attack knocked him back a bit. Xander was getting ready to launch his attack but Golden Rod lifted his foot and transferred some of his power that paralyzed Michael into his foot. Brett noticed this as he turned the dial to a wind symbol.
"Brachio Staff: Wind Strike!"
Green wind formed around his blade as he horizontal slashed the air sending a strong burst of wind gathered behind Xander giving him a huge boost in speed and when Golden Rod went to kick him, the wind boosted him upwards in time for the attack to miss.
"No one hurts my friends!" Xander said as Golden Rod couldn't counter in time.
"Get him Xander!" Zach said supportingly.
"Aerial Smash!"
Xander raised back on arm and a massive surge of power coursed through his arm and he punched down in the center of Golden Rod's face slamming the opponent on its back and into the ground as a yellow ring of light burst outwards from the impact and a strong gust of wind moved throughout the temple.
"Alright Xander! Move away from there!" Brett called out as Xander jumped into the air and flew up to safety. Brett turned the dial to the mountain symbol.
"Brachio Staff: Earth Strike!"
Brett stabbed his staff into the ground as spikes formed in random spots of the hole and Brett turned the dial to a fire symbol.
"I'm ending this!"
"Brachio Staff: Fire Strike!"
The same spikes became engulfed in flames and then turned to molten lava as they retracted back into the ground and then reappeared in different spots of the hole. Brett then removed his sword from the ground as he turned the dial again.
"Brachio Staff: Wind Strike!"
He did an upper cut slash with his blade as the green wind went up into the air and carved out a hole in the top of the temple as it fell to the ground and slammed right on top of Golden Rod and before it did the lava had quickly vanished so that Golden Rod would take a full blunt of the attack.
Zach ran over to pick up Michael and Xander was scanning the battlefield for Tobias.
"Hey man are you okay?" Zach asked Michael.
The paralysis was greatly wearing off as Michael could talk again.
"Holy shit that was amazing. You know not to be offensive but I was thinking Brett wasn't all that strong because he loses a lot of his fights he's in. But I also keep forgetting he pours his powers into the things we need to help us in our fights. Remind me not to get on his bad side." Michael chuckled.
"You should've seen when he took on the White Ranger before you. He was merciless to your evil side when they first met." Zach said to him.
"Guys! I can't find Tobias's body!" Xander called out.
Everyone started looking around for Tobias as it wasn't in the same spot as it was before.
"Did it get hit in my attack? Couldn't have I made sure to keep my range small so it wouldn't touch him." Brett wondered.
The ground began to rumble as a beam of light engulfed Xander forcing him to scream in pain as he fell to the ground de-transformed. Brett and Zach ran to catch up to their friend but as Brett began to move Golden Rod appeared out of nowhere and delivered a roundhouse kick into Brett's side that caused him to spin in the air and fall to the ground. Zach ran to protect his friends as Brett was paralyzed on the ground. Golden Rod faced Zach as he took a boxing stance and began throwing a couple of straight jabs at Zach who blocked them with his shield. Zach knocked the last jab to the side as he spun around and went to kick Golden Rod in the face. Golden Rod caught his foot as he added a lot of pressure on to it.
Golden Rod was breathing heavily and even though his power was active, the attack he endured from the Rangers looked like it did some very significant damage.
"You guys are a pest. I wasn't expecting to deal with such a mortal blow like that. I almost thought I was going to die after being engulfed in lava and a boulder being smashed onto my corpse. You guys will pay greatly. If it wasn't for your attack Blue Ranger, your yellow friend would've been killed the moment I kicked him in the neck. I was going to paralyze him and follow up with another kick to the underside of his jaw with enough force that he would die. But I think because of your interference, I'll snap your neck off first." Golden Rod said with a blackened face.
Golden Rod lifted Zach with his foot as he slammed him to his left side and then raised him again and slammed him on his right. Zach had dropped his shield as he kept getting slammed into the ground repeatedly. Golden Rod did this a few more rounds before he stopped as Zach's body was in pain and Golden Rod saw a piece of the statue nearby them that had a sharp point sticking out. He began dragging Zach's body across the floor as they began to approach the broken statue.
"I actually have a better idea. What if I smash the face in?" Golden Rod said with a psychotic tone in his voice. The temple was spinning and Zach was having a hard time trying to think about how to get out of the situation as he was getting dragged across the stone floor. He didn't even hear what Golden Rod had said as he was trying to get his thoughts together. His ears were ringing and his body in pain. Golden Rod dropped his body as they arrived to the statue and Golden Rod stood over Zach's body as he grabbed the back of his head. The spinning began to stop as Zach began to realize the situation he was in. "I can't wait to see how many blow it's going to take until you die." Golden Rod said.
Michael's legs were still a bit numb and couldn't tap into his super speed to save his friend. He was starting to feel useless and inferior as he saw all of his friends sprawled out on the ground being unable to move.
"Nobody is going to die today. If anyone is going to die it'll be me, not them." He said as he began moving his feet. It was a struggle to get one foot forward but Michael ignored all of that as he began fighting through the numbness. He watched as Zach's head was lifted backwards. "Move legs….MOOOOOVVVVEEEE!" He said as he finally super sped and then fell to the ground after one step. He looked up as he began to fear for the loss of his comrade and friend. Golden Rod began moving Zach's head to the statue and a red streak grabbed Golden Rod in the nick of time and with enough force, dragged the enemy outside of the temple and chucked him about twenty feet away as the person who was now standing was Tobias who had begun to breathe heavily. In his hand was the Shield of Triumph and standing behind him was the spirit of Austin who was looking down at him.
"You know what you must do now Tobias Edge. Show him how strong the Triassic Power truly is and make your mark on history." Austin said to him.
Tobias brought his Dino Gem to his chest as it transformed into the Triassic Morpher.
"I thought I killed you!" Golden Rod said to him.
Tobias didn't respond back to him as the roar of his morpher was made and despite everything he had witnessed and all the pain coursing through his body from the attack. He just stood there with a stoic expression that wasn't revengeful or angry, but an uneasy calmness.
"Dinothunder….Rise Up."
