Season 5 Chapter 16: I want to make a deal with you
A/N: Funny story, this chapter was supposed to take place just right before (now) Chapter 13. But then I realized that the Chapter 13 is more suitable to be in there instead. Then the problem came of what is after Soulburner duel. Initially, I planned it to be Chapter 19 but I realize that I need to get this out of the way because I need to start advancing the plot. In the end though, it didn't matter too much because the events from Chapter 15 till now takes place at the same time chronologically.
Within the three kings of SOL Technologies, there were disagreements on how would SOLTIS would be sold to the world around. SOLTIS has been providing excellent sales from around Japan. They had been thinking of expanding SOLTIS internationally to earn profits for SOL Technologies. However, concerns arise that SOLTIS would eventually crash the Job Market from around the world because they are becoming more effective in doing tasks than a normal human being. The one who called himself Red King, proposes to ignore the problem and selling SOLTIS to the world. The second king, who calls himself Yellow King, proposes to cease and to reinspect SOLTIS to ensure quality of SOLTIS is ensured before promoting to the world. The third king, who called himself Blue king, makes a proposition to sell SOLTIS regionally first with laws being put in place or to shut down SOLTIS entirely.
Disagreements came cross across the Kings until they have gone the point of no return. They have had enough with each other and have declared the Revolution Program, a program that once activated, will put the three to contest for the position of the Emperor. The position of Emperor will not only have absolute control of SOL Technologies, but to also to call themselves as the God to Link Vrains.
However, there is a drawback to this program. Should they be defeated while the program is active, they will not only lose their status as King and to lose all of their shares within SOL Technologies, but to also be deleted from Link VRAINS. They will not be able to return to Link Vrains ever again.
If Red King has to admit, everyone was waiting for this moment to arrive. His allies, Queen, Bishop, Knight, Rook were loyal to him. He had made a deal to help him ascend to become Emperor. But loyality was not enough to him. Uncertain of what enemies he would face, he had his Pawn AIs on his created with the prototype AIs left by the fired employer Kitamura. While the Pawn AIs were vast in quantity, to King's annoyance, it was revealed that Kitamura had his employers to operate on them, resulting the Pawns having no algorithms. Kitamura had essentially only made an Avatar of the AIs.
Irritated by his incompetency, he have neither the time to make an Algorithm for these AIs. But still, he needs more on his forces if he ever hopes to become an Emperor. This war will attract the attention of not only the Knights of Hanoi but the meddlesome Playmaker and his allies. That was when Knight had brought upon his bright idea to improvise the situation of his Pawn AIs, by recreating the lost incident once again. All that is left is the origins of the Fire, Wind, Light and Dark ignis.
They had known the whereabouts of the Jin Kusanagi, the origin of the Light Ignis through their capture of Specter. However, they would need to isolate him from the protection of the Knights of Hanoi.
King has assigned Rook to capture Takeru Homura. King had known that Rook had connections with the underworld, which was why he had assigned Rook to capture the originator of the Fire Ignis.
Fujiki Yusaku, the origin of the Dark ignis, they had found out he receives education from Den City High School. It would be easy to capture him but, recent reports has shown to be him being absent for about half a semester. While it might be possible that he changed schools, there were no signs of activity from him over the past three months. Searching for the Dark Ignis might take some time. Should the originator of the Dark Ignis not be found, he would need to find a replacement for the Dark Sector.
The origin of the Wind Ignis, Sora Yagami, was first reported to be deceased. However, there was a recent chase in Link Vrains which caught his attention. He observed the duel between Soulburner and Zephyr. While he has no evidence of Zephyr being Sora Yagami, he had decided to make Zephyr a target of the Wind Sector. If Zephyr is indeed the origin of the Wind Ignis, it would create an ideal Pawn Ais. If he wasn't, at least his plan of the Pawn Ai's would be complete.
Still even with these Pawn Ais, even if he promotes himself to Emperor, there is a certain threat that Bishop was quite paranoid of. Bishop had reported of a certain mysterious group that threatens to destroy the entirety of not just Link Vrains but of the world's internet. While King thought to be the Knights of Hanoi doing, Bishop was certain that it was a doing of the world's most dangerous terrorist organisation with an insignia of a dark rose with thorns holding a scythe. King had wondered about it. But just as he ignored it, a dark figure formed itself from the shadows.
Realizing that he was still in Link Vrains, he had summoned his rapier as the stranger greets the king himself.
"I have heard of the upcoming war of the Kings that is waged between you three. The way you go about in this war, you and your chess pieces will eventually be defeated and by deleted from Link Vrains."
"And who are you to intrude into this place?"
"My apologies. Pardon my rudeness. I am Dragon. Your pawns- or should I say your Soltis androids, has no codes installed into them, requiring your employees to operate on them. What an embarassment, any programmer would know that Ais would need to be coded, Ignis or not."
"And how is that any of your business?"
"If you are going to program Ais to duel, they should have a script for events of their strategy and conditional events in the event that their card effects are being negated. At the rate your group is progressing, you can never complete this project of yours. And even if you do, they are just inferior, just like your Knight." Dragon has opened a window that shows Knight being unconscious. It was at the very moment that King strikes at Dragon. However, Dragon effortlessly dodges the attack.
"Oh? so you wish to fight me? Fighting me is a terrible choice." Dragon materializes a sword to prepare for combat. At King's another strike, Dragon swipes the King's rapier with his sword, breaking and dematerializing the rapier and followed up with a kick which pushed King back.
"Let me give an advice, duel me instead. At this rate, you will be obliterated. I can erase your entire existance in Link Vrains right now if I want to without needing a Player Kill function." Dragon approaches towards King slowly as his blade scratches the floor.
"And if you die here, you can NEVER return to Link Vrains. You will automatically lose the upcoming war between the kings." His blade begins to glow in darkness. Dragon is ready to kill if he is provoked any further.
King rematerializes his rapier as he got back on his feet. However, Dragon remained indifferent as he continued to approach him. Soon, Dragon stopped as he fired a missile at King. However, with King's quick reflexes, King barely dodged it. King took this opportunity to strike Dragon at the side. But Dragon had seen through the attack and parries the attack that would have stabbed him.
Dragon immediately swipes is blade downwards, creating a blaze of fire from the ground that approach towards the King. King jumps away at such a dangerous attack.
Noticing the opportunity, Dragon activates a card which summons data storms that separates them from battle.
"As much as I love to continue fighting, I'm afraid that it's of no interest of mine to have you slaughtered. I have decided to force you into a Duel"
"A duel? You can't be serious."
"Yes I am. Right now, we are trapped between data storms that could tear us apart rather easily should we try to escape. And don't even think about logging out. This Data Storm's frequency is high enough to simulate radiation that will interfere with your systems."
"Challenging a King, how insolent. I hate that you dare to insult me. You will learn your place!" King activates his duel disk. Dragon revels in the heat of the battle and struggle when King accepted the duel.
Dragon vs King
"I would like to make some... alterations to this duel. In return, you can choose to take the first or the second turn." Dragons snaps his fingers. Soon, King heard a noise from his duel disk.
(Dragon: 4000 - 8000)
(King: 4000 - 8000)
"What did you do?" King heard a noise that came from his duel disk.
"This duel would be boring if it were to be a normal duel. So I did myself a favor to double our starting LP so that the duel doesn't end that quickly. More importantly though, I have to test this program which appears to be functioning."
Turn 1: King
"You'll regret underestimating me. I summon Dinomorphia Thezizia. Thezizia's effect allows me to add Dinomorphia Domain from deck to hand. I set 2 cards face down and end my turn."
"Is that how you open your field? Just a monster with 2 set cards? It would be solid field if we were in decades ago."
"Take your turn. You are being very cocky right now. Soon, you will learn that you are nothing to the King."
Turn 2: Dragon
"Yeah sure. Being impatient won't win you the duel. I draw."
"I summon Hajun, the Winged Mayakashi."
"I pay half my LP (King: 8000 - 4000) to activate the trap card Solemn Judgement. Hajun's summon has been negated." After the moment of Hajun's summoning being negated, King suddenly felt that his chest was in pain. He held onto his injured wound.
"Solemn Judgement huh? I never expected you to play that way." Dragon notices the pain that the Red King had just taken.
"It seems that you have not realized it yet but in this duel, whenever you take lose LP, you will also take physical pain equivalent to the life lost. Seeing that you lost half of your life, it must be quite the killer you took. I'm not sure if that pain was worth to negate my effect." Dragon taunted. King hadn't know what kind of duel that Dragon had put him into.
"I activate Eldlich's effect from my hand. I send Zombie World from my hand and itself to the GY to target your other facedown card. It goes to the GY."
"Not if I pay half of my LP (King: 4000 - 2000) activate Dinomorphia Domain's effect first. With it's effect, I fuse Thezizia from the field and Dinomorphia Diplos from my deck. Fusion Summon! Dinomorphia Kentregina!"
"Kentregina loses ATK equal to my current LP (Kentregina's ATK: 4000 - 2000)."
"Interesting. So you are intentionally lowering down your LP to strengthen your monster."
"I'm not through yet. I activate Kentregina's effect by paying half of my LP again (King: 2000 - 1000). I banish Domain to use it's effect again. I send another copy of Thezizia and Diplos from deck to GY to Fusion Summon again. Dinomorphia Stealthbergia! With this LP loss, Kentregina's ATK increases (Kentregina's ATK: 2000 - 3000)."
"I set a card and then I activate Eldlich's effect." I send the card I have just set to the GY to add Eldlich to my hand. Then I summon the avatar of endless greed, Eldlich the Golden Lord!" Dragon's ace monster was summoned.
"Since you activated Eldlich's effect, Stealthbergia's effect activates. You take damage equal to Eldlich's ATK (Dragon: 8000 - 5500)."
"Eldlich can't be destroyed by card effects until the end of your next turn and Eldlich gains 1000 ATK/DEF.(Eldlich: 2500/2800 - 3500/3800). Battle! Eldich attacks Stealthbergia." Eldlich casts a golden spell onto Stealthbergia which turns them into gold. Eldlich then smashes it, destroying the monster. Since Stealthbergia was in defence position, King does not take battle damage.
"Since Stealthbergia is destroyed by battle, Stealthbergia's effect activates, I summon Diplos from the deck. Diplos's effect activates upon summon, I send Dinomorphia Sonic from Deck to GY and since my LP is lower than 2000, you take 500 damage." (Dragon: 5500 - 5000).
"I end my turn."
"Interesting, so your deck functions by intentionally lowering your LP to a near death state to unleash it's deadly effects. And because you lost so much LP, you had to take THAT much pain. I hope you don't pass out before our duel ends."
Turn 3: King
"I draw and activate Pot of Extravagance. I banish 6 cards from my Extra Deck face down to draw a card for every 3 cards banished by this effect. So I draw 2!" King draws 2 cards and he sees that one of the cards he drew was Polymerization.
"I activate Polymerization. I fuse Kentregina and Diplos! Fusion Summon! Dinomorphia Rexterm!"
"Rexterm's effect: I pay half of my LP (King: 1000 - 500), for the rest of the turn all of your monster's ATK are equal to my LP! Additionaly, you cannot activate monster effects you control whose ATK is equal or greater to my LP. Beckoning Roar!" (Eldlich ATK: 3500 - 500).
"Battle! Rexterm attacks Eldlich!" (Dragon: 5000 - 2500).
"I end my turn"
"Very good. You have summoned quite a troublesome monster for me to deal with. However, against me, I. AM. INEVITABLE. On this very turn, I'll show you, what it means to be DETHRONED." Dragon's figure became a darker silhoutte that grew wings behind his back. Soon, the entire area was consumed by darkness as Dragon takes his turn.
Turn 4: Dragon
"My turn, draw. Since I control no cards on my field, I can activate Infinite Impermance from my hand. Until the end of this turn, Rexterm's effects are negated." Lightning stroke on Rexterm.
"With Rexterm's effects negated, I can use my monster effects freely. I summon Hajun and activate it's effect, when summoned, I summon Dakki, the Graceful Mayakashi. I tune the Level 2 Dakki with the Level 1 Hajun! Synchro Summon! Level 3! Oboro-Guruma, the Wheeled Mayakashi!"
"I activate the effect of Dakki when a Mayakashi" monster(s) is Special Summoned to your field from the Extra Deck. I special summon itself! Then I tune the level 3 Oboro-Guruma with the level 2 Dakki! Synchro Summon! Level 5! Tsuchigumo, the Poisonous Mayakashi!"
"Level 5. You are going to-"
"That's right, I have formed a loop that allows me to continously summon a stronger monster each time I have synchro summoned with Dakki always returning back to my field as a Synchro Material. Now then, I send the Level 5 Tsuchigumo, Level 7 Tengu and Level 9 Yoko tuned with the Level 2 Dakki to Synchro Summon!" Dragon declares as his aura grows stronger. Dakki turns into rings as Tsuchigumo floats to be surronded by the rings. Soon, the rings rotates around him at high speeds as it forms a sphere. The figures of Tengu and Yoko were briefly seen before it was tuned.
"Ten Thousand souls from the underworld, form into a new life and rule the world of sorrow! Synchro Summon! Level 11! The avatar of gluttony, Gashadokuro, the Skeletal Mayakashi!" From the sphere, it dugs down to the ground. Then, a hand rises from the ground as a gigantic skeleton arises. Dragon has summoned his strongest Mayakashi monster and has brought back Dakki again. At this point, Data storms could no longer be seen. In King's eyes, he could only see Dragon and the field.
"You fool. The highest level Monster could ever have is a Level 12. You don't have a level 13 monster in your Extra Deck."
"Oh? Who said I was summoning a level 13 Synchro Monster? I activate Yuki-Musume, the Ice Mayakashi's effect: Since I control a Mayakashi monster, it summon itself to the field and then I send the Zombie Mezuki to the GY."
"These monsters again. But you can only control 1 Gashadokuro at the time! At most, you would be summoning the level 9 Yoko!"
"HA HA HA. And again, who said I was going to synchro summon this time? Appear, the arrogant circuit that connects to eternal despair! The summoning conditions require 2 "Mayakashi" monsters! I set Yuki-Musume and Dakki! Link Summon! Link 2! The avatar of sorrow, Yuki-Onna, the Ice Mayakashi."
"Dakki's effect activates once again. And now just like the Synchro Summon, I'll do the same with Link! I send the Link 2 Ice Mayakashi and Link 3 Icicle Mayakashi that will be used with Dakki to bring fourth Yuki-Onna's strongest form!" Yuki-Onna claps her hands as the ice begins to surround her. Soon, winter came.
"The winter enrages! The untold terror shall freeze those who approach the world of sorrow! Link Summon! Link 4! The avatar of sorrow, Yuki-Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi!" Ice spikes begin to launch every where. King blocks himself from being hit.
"Mezuki's effect activates! It banishes itself to summon Yoko from my GY. Yoko's effect activates when its summons itself from the GY, I destroy Rexterm!"
"Rexterm's effect activates when it's destroyed, I summon Therizia. And that means Therizia's effect activates, I can-"
"Yuki-Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi's effect activates, Therizia's ATK is changed to 0 (Therizia's ATK: 1500 - 0) and it's effect is negated."
"Battle. Gashadokuro kill Thezizia!"
"This is the end. Yuki-Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi attacks you directly." (King: 500 - 0)
Dragon wins.
"Now that I've won. I want to make a deal with you. In exchange for my help, I want you to help me exact revenge."
"Revenge? On who?"
"It'll be a long story. But to abbreviate it, the one who messed up your company 5 years ago... is coming back.." At first, King was confused about his statement. However, he remembers the warning that Bishop was paranoid of. That guy... He can't be-
"I want you to eliminate our Mr. Popular. If you have been watching what was going on, he was the one that crossed you 5 years ago. You can continue to do whatever you want, even capture him to make up for the unlikely hood of being unable to capture the originator of the Dark Ignis. I don't care. I want him out of my way." Dragon explained his demands. He then summoned a disk as he threw it to the king.
"Take this. This is the data that you would need to progress your pawn Ai project quickly. This is a token for my willingness to ally with you or a compensation for this mess or whatever you think of it about." Dragon then walks away from a defeated King as he mutters to himself.
"Sol Technologies would want to capture one of the three. With me setting the second as their target, I will enact my revenge on the last! When he comes back to the battlefield... I will have my revenge." Dragon talks to himself. Insanity starts to leak within him. His dark silhouette grew an aura that quickly grew larger by a second.
"Revenge... For what you have done 5 years ago... You cannot hide forever. Once you return, you will never escape from me. I will curse you, drag you into despair and kill you myself. I do not care if this world has to die as long as I get my revenge." Dragon muttered in anger as his 'eyes' became crimson flames.
"No one will save you..." Dragon's blade shines in darkness as flames were formed to shape into his smile. Dragon then laughs in insanity as he leaves.
A/N: I bet you guys did not expect to see actual fighting huh? The last time we saw that was in Arc V. Vrains didn't have that. At most, it was Blood Shepred firing at Aqua as he chases the Ignis. In this story, not everything can be solved with duels. That may be true for the previous seasons but combats will become more relevant. Of course, I am not phasing out duels, that's what makes a Yu-Gi-Oh story.
About the duel starting at 8000 LP, in story reasons explains that Dragon is testing the program which appeared to be working. Outside the story reasons, every time i write a duel, 4000 LP duels always end way too quickly especially since that I most likely am going to use decks that was made after 2019 like Dogmatika in Chapter 13.
In the next chapter, we will get back to Thunder Emperor trio. We will discover in detail how did World Traveler got his World Legacy Deck which also contained Accesscode Talker.
