AFTER GETTING INITIATED into the guild, Mitsuki was offered a room at Fairy Hills. She declined, having wanted to find a nicer apartment to call home - which she did.
Though a part of her did wish she had accepted the Fairy Hills offer.
While yes, she was paying significantly less than for a one room studio - she wasn't aware that Lucy Heartfilia lived next door to the apartment she was currently renting… and Team Natsu was loud.
Not in a sexual way, mind you. Mitsuki was certain Natsu and Lucy were not in that stage yet to understand the feelings they had for one another. Or at least, Natsu wasn't at that stage yet. He seemed denser than most, in an endearing kind of way. Only this morning Mitsuki wanted to shove a boulder so far up his ass he'd be shitting them for weeks.
"NATSU! I TOLD YOU TO STOP DOING THAT! YOU TOO, HAPPY!" Lucy's booming voice echoed the walls as Mitsuki groaned at the rude wake up call.
"BUT LUCY!" Both whined simultaneously, causing Mitsuki to sigh as she sat up straight. She figured she wasn't getting anymore sleep, especially with how loud her guild mates were behaving. Her heart leapt in her chest at that sentence. Guildmates. And she didn't resent them.
Already she was waking up happier.
Getting ready for the day, she made herself some breakfast. Classic french toast with some berries and syrup, one of her favorite go-tos. Right after she had gotten her key she had filled her kitchen up with some of her favorites. Necessities that didn't go bad quickly. While she could always go to the guild and get food, she enjoyed just cooking for herself.
It was one of the few things she could do that her father didn't have control over.
"Do you guys have to be so loud in the morning?" Mitsuki grumbled as she saw the three standing outside of Lucy's apartment.
Lucy gasped when she saw Mitsuki, bowing shamefully. "I'm so sorry Mitsuki-Chan! I forgot you were my neighbor for a second," she laughed awkwardly, shooting Natsu and Happy a dark look. "These two come over unannounced a lot. Just a warning for the future." She scowls at that, though a fond look was in her eyes - like she didn't mind that they always invaded her privacy. "Sometimes the entire team visits unannounced, but these two are the worst." She scoffs, rolling her eyes.
Chuckling, she glances between the members. Natsu and Happy were pouting at Lucy, and Mitsuki couldn't help but stare fondly at the three. "I'm going to head towards the guild," Mitsuki announced as she side-stepped Team Natsu - not wanting to seem weird staring at them. It was a wonder to her, seeing members actually getting along instead of just tolerating each other because they were in the same guild.
"We were heading there anyway!" Lucy chirped as she walked with Mitsuki. "Are you planning on taking a job, Mitsuki-Chan?" She asked, tilting her head to the side as the other two trailed behind them.
"If you are, can we come?!" Natsu cheered, wrapping his arms around the two girls - Happy was hanging on Lucy's shoulder looking excited. "Team Natsu can show you the ropes!" He grins, showing off his dragon-like fangs.
Mitsuki chuckled. "I've heard stories about Team Natsu. I think I'd rather not, but thanks anyway Dragneel," she smirked as he whined, Lucy and Happy snickering at his plight.
They were chattering and laughing the entire way to the guild. Mitsuki had never felt so free before. While in Raven Tail she had to hide a piece of herself, always putting up a front so that her father would look good. Now, here in Magnolia and with Fairy Tail, she could be herself. They didn't care about putting up fronts and acting like something they weren't. It made Mitsuki feel fuller. It gave her something to look forward to.
That wasn't a feeling that she was accustomed to at all.
"WE'RE HERE!" Natsu shouted as he pushed open the doors of Fairy Tail. Everyone greeted them as they walked inside and Mitsuki couldn't help but smile at the sight.
Mitsuki sees her grandfather near the bar, talking lowly with a red-haired male. Intrigued, she walks over, looking around to see if her brother was in the guild - only to deflate a little when she saw he wasn't. "Ah, Mitsuki! My granddaughter!" Makarov grins when he sees her, making her heart skip a beat. The red-haired male raised an eyebrow at her, giving her a once over. "This is Gildarts Clive. He's our crash mage. Gildarts, this is Mitsuki Dreyar."
"Ah, so you're the new granddaughter this old man won't stop blabbering about," Gildarts smirks, raising an eyebrow.
"And you're the infamous Crash Mage." Mitsuki notes, having heard about him. It was hard not to hear anything about this guild - they were infamous for a reason, after all. Crash Magic was rare, and Mitsuki hasn't heard of anyone else learning how to use it.
Gildarts chuckles at that. "Ah so you have heard of me," he seemed impressed, and a little bit cocky after being known even after they had been trapped on Tenrou for seven years.
Shrugging, Mitsuki looks between the two older men. "It's hard not to hear anything about Fairy Tail," she admits sheepishly. "You've certainly made a name for yourself." She notes as an afterthought.
Makarov grins at that. "That's the Fairy Tail way!" He states proudly, holding up his mug Mitsuki was sure filled with beer.
"Mitsuki, can I get you anything?" MiraJane asks from behind the bar. She seemed right at home as she was cleaning a glass, placing it back with the other clean ones.
"I'll take one of your mixed berry smoothies." Mitsuki nods, a grin on her face. MiraJane nods as she starts to make the drink. It didn't take long for the smoothie to find its way into the young Dreyar's hands. Taking a sip, Mitsuki sighed, content. "Thanks Mira, this is great."
MiraJane beamed at the girl. "I'm glad. Enjoy! If you want to take a job just let me or Kinana know, we help with all the job archives and keep everything organized. Gods know that Master doesn't keep things organized himself," she sends a stern look towards the old man, who paid her no mind as he was just grinning - already tipsy. "Since you have already been in a guild you won't need someone else to be with you for your first job here, but we always recommend taking someone with you. Teach you the ropes, and have their experience be a guide." She shrugs, giving Mitsuki some advice for jobs.
Smiling softly, Mitsuki nods her head. "Team Natsu already tried to go on a job with me, but I turned them down… I've heard stories." She snickers, earning giggling from the barmaid and scowls from Master Makarov. "I think I might take a few small jobs to get the ropes by myself, but thank you for the advice!" Mitsuki wasn't used to working with people. While yes, her father often had some newbies go with her, she was normally the one who took up the slack.
It'll take some time for her to be able to work with other mages on jobs.
"That's perfectly okay as well!" MiraJane nods her head. "Just let me know before you leave, so I can count that job as taken. We don't really have a lot of jobs available, but we're gaining more now that news has gone around most of the… stronger members are back…" MiraJane winces, not wanting to call the other members that weren't on Tenrou weak outright. Though Mitsuki understands where MiraJane was coming from.
Certain members of guilds bring in the jobs. Sadly, it wasn't the ones that were left behind when Tenrou disappeared.
Instead of commenting on that fact, Mitsuki just nods. "I'll go over and check out what kind of jobs there are." Taking another sip of her drink, she walks over to the board - looking over all the jobs that were available.
Essentially all the same ones that were available in Raven Tail were here. Her father would throw a gasket if she said that directly to him, she snickers. Monster hunting, item retrieval, bandits. It was everything she has seen before, though one in particular caught her eye as she reached forward to grab it.
"Dear Fairy Tail,
We are posting this job in dire need of assistance. We believe our hotel is haunted by phantoms, scaring our guests away late in the night. Of course, there is no such thing… we think something else is at play. We would love it if you could figure out what is actually scaring our guests away.
If you successfully get rid of the thing that is going bump in the night, you will be rewarded greatly.
Please, send help!
Signed, Niiro Sho.
P.S. Welcome back Fairy Tail!"
