Rias gently ran her fingers over the dark crimson mask, a mask given to her by Scáthach the Spear Huntress. Its angled face reminded her of a hawk's beak or a falcon with the edges flaring out with spikes that curled back towards her hair. The mask was also etched with ancient Celtic and Irish symbols, many of them unknown to her. Its dark green lenses stared back at her, the soft light of the room making them glow a bit. She looked up at the mirror the room had, allowing Rias to look at her outfit. The dark violet-crimson skin tight bodysuit hugged her very nicely but she also added armor to give her some protection and intimidation. Crafted by Kiba with his Sacred Gear, she now looked like some demonic queen from an old myth.
Dark red shoulder pieces complimented with talloned gloves and gauntlets that left her upper arms free, metal boots with four 'toes' that moved to allow for gripping a surface or for more friction. Leg armor that went up to her knees, allowing her thighs to be open along with a combat skirt that was open in the front. The skit flared dramatically with every step, as it was her design that Kiba brought to life for her. His Sacred Gear was very versatile once it had been turned from a bladesmith to a forge, through his willpower and training.
She put the mask upon her head, it activated and gave her a view of the world that was clearer and more detailed then anything she was used to. In a flash of a mental thought, the mask's vision switched from the one it had been on to that of a thermal image. It was showing a lot of blue hues and several spots of varying heat signatures, which was probably how the Hunters followed them in the jungles due to their body heat.
With another thought, it returned to normal as she stepped away from the mirror. Turning away from it, she walked through a door and smiled as she saw the rest of her peerage as they checked over their outfits and armor. Koneko had taken to looking like a rogue assassin, hiding her upper face with a hood as she wore various clothing that would allow her to hide in the shadows or dark places. Rin was wearing a fully decked out Samurai armor covered in spikes and blades, a metal Oni mask covering her face as she looked over her blade.
Mary was looking over her blade as she confidently stood in an outfit that had appeared in the movie, The Princess Bride. The Dread Pirate Roberts, simply what Mary said as she was wearing black with a black mask and cap, gloves and boots of the same color as well. Simple and to the point as she smirked before sheathing her blade, nodding to Rias. Inaba was wearing a white tunic and brown pants with darker boots as she was putting on a brown robe, her sword missing from her outfit or was just put out of sight.
Of course, Akeno had to come out of another room and smile as she held something in her hands. Wearing what looked like to be a shire priestess robe but made out of storm clouds, which seemed to churn and boil as soft flashes played within the cloudy fabric.
"The Thunderous Storm Priestess of Gremory," Rias thought to herself before noticing the mask Akeno wore as well.
Its appearance looked like a storm front was forming out of her hair with twin lightning bolts below her eyes, giving her a rather ominous appearance as she walked towards Inaba.
"Mr. Hyoudou heard you were gonna be needing a weapon," Akeno said before opening her hands to show off a hilt of some sort, "its from one of his trainers that passed away. He said he would be honored if you wielded it, Inaba."
Inaba opened her hand, using her powers to gently pull the hilt into her open palm. Closing her hand around the hilt, she ran her hands over it slowly as Rias watched. Every detail, every nick and small dent on the hilt of the weapon spoke of a history of long use. Inaba then flicked her thumb over a certain spot before a brilliant green blade burst into life, humming proudly as its emerald color shone.
"A light blade," Mary said in awe, looking at the weapon in amazement, "only those in the Churches use those from what I've read or heard."
Inaba nodded before deactivating the blade, "I shall use this blade with honor, it speaks rather happily for a weapon of such a holy nature."
Akeno giggled behind a hand before she said, "You're not the only one that got some last minute gifts from the Hyoudou's, Miki gave me permission to invoke her summoning of the powers of Shinto Storms and Lightning. One I will use against the highest threat against us."
Rias nodded before turning her head to see the massive shape of her Knight, smiling as the hulking armor seemed to pull in shadows to hide itself. A massive clawed gauntlet rested on the guard of a massive sword, as Kiba's helmet looked at Rias before he spoke.
"My Lady," He growled, a deep resonating voice echoing from the helmet as Rias walked up to him, "We stand ready to put them to the sword."
"Indeed you do, my Dreadknight," She all but purred, putting an armored hand to the helmeted Knight's cheek as her voice came out seductive and more mature, "we stand ready to stamp out their fires and plunge them into darkness. Our plan is set and we stand firm."
[Attention, I am Grayfia Lucifuge and I will be presiding over this Rating game match. This match will be between Riser Phenex of House Phenex and Rias Gremory of House Gremory, in an unofficial match. Representing the Gremory Family will be Lord Sirzech Lucifer while Lord Ajuka Beelzebub represents the Phenex Family.]
Rias listened as her sister-in-law spoke before motioning to Akeno, Kiba and Inaba to move out to begin the plan.
[Fifteen minutes will be given to both teams to set up traps and other devices before the match begins.]
Waiting was not Ravel's strong suit, it was something that she had mercilessly drilled into herself after seeing the error of her ways in diving headlong into situations. She could feel her inner flames burning, wanting to be let free to torch away those that opposed her but she held it back. She also was banking on factors that she truly didn't fully know, like Rias not finding a loophole like she had when her older sibling told her the conditions he set up for her. Riser was smart but clearly never studied law, because he left so many openings. She now had to fill in the gaps that her brother left with contingencies with the plan she had. Ugh, she really needed some tea right now.
She had been looking over the building plan before grimacing as the plan was finalized, despite saying it was done earlier. In actuality, she was very sure that Heiress Gremory had pulled something off to give them more training experience as Riser had gotten Lord Bael and his Peerage to help them train. It had been a rather rough time as the two peerages had been different in approach in how they handled Rating Games.
"Only five more minutes, Lady Ravel," Mihae whispered as Ravel nodded before grimacing as she pointed at the first group.
"Xuelan, Ile and Nel, Mira," She said before pointing at the map, towards the school's gymnasium, "Move in here and secure the in between so we can keep then from passing over to the outdoor sport area."
The four quickly moved out, taking the time to reach the gymnasium until it was time for the game to officially begin.
[Your time is up, the game shall now begin!]
Koneko huffed softly to herself as she hid in the rafters of the gymnasium as Rin Onigawara waited while sharpening her sword below her. The pair had taken to holding down the gymnasium, as both Mary and Inaba had gone to the forest surrounding the academy with Akeno as aerial support for the four of them. Kiba and Rias would probably pull a substantial portion of the peerage towards them, as they dealt with the ones sent to specific locations.
"They draw near," Rin spoke into the communication circle that was placed on Koneko's ear, "be ready."
Letting the shadows cover her, Koneko watched as four people entered the gym and tensed herself. Despite being hidden, she knew that anyone under the bird's control would probably look up. But, clearly they did not as they focused on Rin. Rin did not stop sharpening her sword as the one in the chinese outfit tried to get Rin to speak or do anything other than work on her sword. Koneko smirked before moving through the rafters to be in a position over the woman, waiting until the final moment before pouncing. As she fell, a blade slid out from under her wrist as she used her Senjutsu to twist her body so she was behind the woman.
"What?" The woman said as she finally looked up, way too late.
Koneko hissed as her hand grabbed her foe's shoulder, squeezing with her Rook strength before sliding her blade into her spine. The woman gasped as her spine was cut, Koneko pulling the blade out before shoving the woman away. As she collapsed, she began to glow blue as she was pulled from the game due to her wound keeping her from battling. Having one's spine cut left one rather vulnerable after all, as Koneko found herself being spotted by the other three.
[Riser's Rook has been retired]
In the moments between the announcement and Koneko's heartbeat, Rin moved like a Demon had possessed her. Her blade came around, carving into the backs of the green haired twins who screamed before they both vanished in a blue glow. Rin had simply carved through their spines as well, speed and precision her allies as the pair looked at the last of the group Riser had sent here.
[Riser's two Pawns have been retired.]
Koneko simply ended the last one by punching her in the head, sending her flying into the far wall. She crumpled after leaving a dent in the gym wall as she vanished with another blue glow.
[Riser's Pawn has been retired.]
"Lets move," Koneko said as she moved towards the exit, Rin on her heels, "Rias wants the gym blown apart to keep them on this side of the school."
Rias sat upon a throne created out of the Power of Destruction and Demonic Chaos, sitting upon her power as Kiba stood before her as a monolith of blackened steel. Waiting upon the school grounds, she pondered on whom would be sent to deal with her. Of course, she heard the success over the magical communication they had used. She couldn't help but smile as she had Akeno prepare to obliterate the gymnasium completely, saving her stamina and magic against Riser's queen as she would be the worst of the peerage.
"They approach," Kiba noted softly through his armor, head turning minutely towards where the group was coming from, "five of them come forth to face you."
"Karlamine, Mihae, Siris, Isabela, and Ravel," Rias thought to herself, noting every one that approached, "Shuriya, Bürent, Marion, Ni and Li must have gone into the forest. Good, Inaba and Mary can deal with them swiftly."
"Who approaches the Queen in her domain?" Rias said, her mask giving her the same mature and regal voice.
Ravel stopped dead, looking taken aback by the pair of them. Rias simply studied the group made up of both Knights, the other Rook, and both Bishops, a rather sizable force. However, they left the rest of the Pawns for both Mary and Inaba to handle.
"We have come to put your reign to an end," Karlamine hissed, pulling out her sword as it erupted into flames, "surrender and we might be lenient."
Rias couldn't help but laugh at that before calming herself down as she motioned to Kiba, who straightened from his slouched stance. Due to his updated armor, Kiba now stood around nine feet tall as the group facing him took a step back in fear. Rias smirked before pointing at the group.
"Defeat my Dreadknight and then you may face me in combat," She said as Kiba pulled his massive sword out of the ground, "if you can that is. He's been on a rather impressive training spree and earned his powers through blood, sweat and tears."
Kiba roared as he brandished his weapon before charging at the group with a speed that belied his massive heavy armor.
Tsukuyo Inaba let herself relax on the stump of the large thick tree trunk as her Sacred Gear worked to give her a detailed view on everything around her for several kilometers. Five of the Pawn of Riser approached, as the weapon in her robe seemed to thrum within the pocket. In the darkness around the trees, Mary was watching the group approach.
"I hope they are swiftly dealt with," Inaba muttered to herself before straightening up in her position as the group got closer, "here they are."
"It looks like there is only one person here," Two voices said together, both of them similar to Koneko but both were older and with different colored hair, "lets beat them up!"
"Hold on!" One of the maids tried to stop them before Inaba lifted her hand.
The pair were thrown by invisible force, hurling at speeds that regular mortals would have been crushed by into the trees. The collapsing trees thundered as the pair of Pawns screamed before a soft blue glow took one of them away.
[Riser's Pawn has been retired.]
"Li?!" The other was panicking, looking horrified but unable to move as she had been pinned under several fallen trees.
"Damn it," The other maid hissed before trying to get the cat girl free before grimacing, "I can't get her free, something is keeping the trees pinned on her."
Inaba smirked she stood up, looking in the direction of the group before pulling out the weapon Mr. Hyoudou had gifted her. Running her thumb over the activation button, the brilliant green blade activated as she leapt towards the barely dressed woman in some stripper outfit. Her blade carved through her exposed belly, burning flesh away in a single swipe of the green blade. She was reaching for her burning guts before she vanished in a blue glow.
[Riser's Pawn has been retired.]
"Oh sh-" the cat girl started to say before things became a horror show.
Inaba charged at the maids, her speed comparable to that of a Knight piece. Her blade hummed as she lept from place to place, dodging spells and flames that were thrown at her. She dodged an explosion as she landed on a tree trunk before spinning away as the tree imploded from one of the maids using her demonic power. She was in the zone here and now, her body spinning and rotating as she landed before throwing her hand forward. The maid on the right was sent into the darkness before she screamed, Mary having taken her out of the game.
[Riser's Pawn has been retired.]
"N-No, stay back!" The remaining Pawn maid said, hands up with magic circles forming weakly in her palms.
"I don't think you and your fellow Pawn realize just how foolish you were for trying to take out the Queen of Crimson Destruction."
The only things that filled the forest were the screams of the final two Pawns, both falling to the blades of both Inaba and Mary.
[Riser's Two Pawns have been retired.]
Akeno floated in the air above the arena as she listened to the battles from her magic circle located near her ear. She had been enjoying the sounds of Riser's peerage falling one by one to her friends, making her body shiver with slight arousal due to her sadistic side. She imagined them hurting in various ways before Rias spoke through the magic communication circle.
"Akeno," Rias said, causing Akeno to jump a bit from the clear voice of her King, "Time to unleash the storm."
"Understood, my Lady," Akeno smiled, the energy within her body sparking and flowing freely as she started forming it.
Storm clouds started to boil in the skies, darkening the clouds as she pulled the power of lightning. As thunder boomed overhead, Akeno looked down upon the arena. She grinned sadistically as the energy of the Storm, the Lightning within her blood sparking bright and bright before she pointed. Her finger aimed directly at the gymnasium, as she spoke.
"Storms Judgment!"
With a roar of power, a massive bolt of lightning rushed past her. The heat made her skin gain goosebumps as her grin turned from simple sadistic to a maniacal one. The power of lightning had been something inside her and had become even more powerful due to her training and increase of skills and magic reserves. The blinding flash of light crashed into the gym as the building exploded spectacularly, debris being sent everywhere as she smirked at a job well done. Slowly, she brought herself lower from the air above the arena.
As she came down from her high advantage, she spotted another figure approaching. Wearing some outfit that consists of a navy blue tunic top with gold accents and a pale blue skirt with open sides, black shoes and over matching thigh-high stockings with garter belts. This woman also looked rather pale and gaunt, a haunted beauty compared to when Akeno first saw her. Known as the "Bomb Queen of Phenex", this woman was Yubelluna and was her rival.
"Here I find you squallering in your sadistic glee," Yubelluna said flatly, hand raised with fingers ready to snap, "someone needs to put you down to show you how a Queen actually handles her business."
Akeno smirked before spreading her arms wide and a mildly mocking gesture, "Oh, please, try and teach me. I'm simply a maiden of the Storm, one given power by the clouds above and ability to bring ruin upon my Queen's foes."
Maybe "hamming it up" was something she could do, it clearly had the Bomb Queen looking ready to burst a blood vessel.
How quaint.
