Sup guys? Time for another story, this one about X-Men, enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own X-Men, Disney, Marvel, and a few others do.
She continued running, too unwilling to break her stride and far too unwilling to back down for anything.
Her name was Rachal Summers. She was better known by Marvel Girl or Prestige. She didn't enjoy the first name and the second one sounded better. She liked her mom's name, but she'd much rather stand as her hero when it came down to it.
She dodged the blast from the Sentinel as the machine rounded on her, its eyes blaring with energy as the machine marched after her, smashing a fist down to try and dissolve her into a red smear. The machine wanted her dead, wanted her far more dead than it seemed to be capable of.
She was after all a very powerful woman, one who could and was trying to rend the machine into so much scrap it wouldn't be able to do more than wiggle its fingers at her. The Sentinel was dangerous, but it was striking someone who was far outside of its weight class and yet didn't care.
She reached out her hand before the machine slowly started to reach down towards her. She tilted her head and turned back towards her, reaching out her fingers which crackled with energy.
The machine groaned mechanically as its systems started to bend backward, unable to deal with the idea of its systems shorting out from the pressure being exerted on it. she bent its fingers backward as if they were made out of paper.
"Mutant detected, must…" The machine stated before it crunched into pieces.
She continued applying pressure which allowed her to toss the hulking machine to the side and continue running. She could hear the sounds of jets kicking in as its friends started to zoom after her, their footsteps thundering on the ground.
She slipped into the brush as more Sentinels flew overhead, their systems scanning for her and locating the damaged yet functional Sentinel easily. There was a lot more to question at the time yet.
She sighed and leaned against the stone behind her, unsure of what to do. These damned machines would end up killing her the second she slipped out of cover and there was too much open ground for her to make it there before now.
If anything? This mission was honestly the worst, yet it seemed as if was to be worse.
"There's too many of them." She stated as she frowned to herself before she questioned.
She tilted her head while looking over the rest of the destroyed land in front of her. She tilted her head as she questioned her options. There were a lot more monsters than them, but these sentinels were going to rip the entire world apart… All because some people assumed that mutants were monsters that needed to be exterminated.
Well, one out of a thousand different timelines where all of this properly came down to it. Rachal had already seen so many worlds broken by them, constantly burned down to cinders because a few people hated mutants and wouldn't let them change. Something that couldn't yet be fixed, yet she wanted it to have been when push came to shove. If nothing else? There were a lot more horrors to properly fixate on.
This wasn't going to be one of them. She ran, this nightmare wasn't hers nor anyone else's.
One of the sentinels slowly started to fall, its weapons already trained on her… And then she awoke.
(Earth)
Rachal awoke in her bed, her mind racing as she looked around to see dozens of things floating in midair before she blinked and they dropped to the ground.
Another nightmare, another weird vision burrowing into her mind as if a monster had targeted her and she slowly sat up. Interested before now.
Yet she was unsure if they meant something. They came every night when slept and felt too weird to just pass off as nothing.
She should talk to the professor and see what had happened, what he assumed about these sorts of problems if anything. It could have been nothing, but it didn't seem that way for now. Not by a long shot if she was honest with herself.
Little did she know what these dreams would mean.
Author Notes
Phew. The first chapter is done! I want to point out that the next chapter will be longer. The next chapter will show more of Rachel's training and set up the main plot. The next chapter will be 900-6500 words and will be in 2-10 months. It will also set up a few new mutants and more of their powers. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
P.S: I MIGHT make a Shadow Cat or Jubilee story.
