The sun was shinning the day of the accident and Norman was up to his usual tricks, nothing major just making people jump and a few pies in faces.
Sam and Ellie were near the end of the night shift and Arnold had just arrived for the morning shift, Ellie walked over to the kettle and put water in it then boiled it.
"I wonder what trick Norman is going to pull this year" ? Ellie asked as she sat down after making herself Arnold and Sam tea
"If last year's anything to go by, a lot of trouble. How much did you want to hurt him"? Arnold asked putting his cup down
"The want to hit was getting over-whelming" Sam replied
"You looked like you wanted to strangle him" Added Ellie
They soon started laughing.
Once they finished tea they all started to clean the vehicles.
After they finished cleaning the vehicles the bell went off "Norman Price has got his head stuck in a tree trunk in PontyPandy Park" Station Officer Steele announced over the PA system.
"Ellie you and I will go in Venus , Arnold you stay here" Sam ordered as he ran to get his uniform on
"Roger that Sam" the other two replied in unison and Ellie followed Sam. After Ellie got in the drivers seat and Sam got in she sped off. The others started to prepare for the smoke room training
Twenty minutes later the others returned covered in gold paint fuming with anger.
"What happened to you two"? Arnold asked
"NORMAN DID THAT LITTLE.."! Ellie replied exasperated she then stormed off.
"Norman was hiding in the tree and when we arrived he dumped the paint on us and Venus" Sam explained as he got out of Venus" Then he had the nerve to complain that it wasn't you"
"So he's still bummed about last year, that he got you guys but not me" Arnold asked
"Yes and If he carries on I'll end him" Sam replied
"Wow that kid holds grudges" Arnold thought to himself he the started to clean Venus luckily the paint was still quite wet so it didn't require too much effort to clean. "That ought to do it" He thought wiping the last bit of Venus clean
8:50 AM SHIFT CHANGE.
Ellie and Sam had left after the night shift while Elvis and Penny arrived for the day shift they both noticed that Sam seemed slightly irritated but Ellie was still pissed about something. Once they reached the lounge area they saw Arnold eating a pot noodle.
"It's really cold now, I was freezing my arse off on the was here" shivered Elvis before fleeing inside.
"Ok" Arnold thought to himself , he than saw Penny walk up to him
"What's wrong with them"? She asked.
"Norman played a prank on them by covering them and Venus in gold paint" Arnold explained " The worse part is Norman was aiming for me but I didn't go to that emergency".
Penny and Elvis had surprised looks they then looked at each other and back to Arnold.
"Don't worry the next emergency that involves Norman in any way I will go" Arnold said in a comforting manner he then smiled and was met with smiles back. The bell then went off "Mike flood has set his shed on fire" Station Officer Steele announced.
"We've got this, you enjoy your pot noodle" Penny said then she smiled at him
"All right" Replied Arnold with a mouthful of noodles
"Don't talk with your mouth full" Penny said peering her head round the corner, then she disappeared.
"Yes, mum" Arnold replied sarcastically.
Penny and Elvis then Slid down the poles, Arnold then heard Jupiter's siren. Arnold made himself a cup of tea.
