I was in the process of writing a new chapter for one of my many stories when I somehow got distracted reading the many KanColle fanfic out there on the internet Somehow, I couldn't get this idea that popped out in my mind, inspired partially by the greatest mobile game app ever, Fate Grand Order!
I apologize to those expecting an update for my other stories. Please enjoy this in the meanwhile.
Prologue
"I ask if you are my Master?" said young girl in her early-mid teens with a slender physique, soft skin, and green eyes. "I, HMS King Arthur-"
The girl paused mid-sentence when the words that came out her mouth was not what she had intended to say. What she had been prepared to say was "Servant Saber," but words revealing her true identity caught her off-guard. What she had done, even if she hadn't intended, was a huge mistake that could end lead to her def-
She clutched her head as information flashing into her mind. A Servant receiving information was normal to allow them to adapt to the modern era so that they were not caught unaware by things like technology that hadn't existed in their lives, but the information she got was different from the other times the girl had received compared to her past summons.
The first thing that became obvious was the weapons and armor she carried. Instead of Caliburn or Excalibur she would be summoned as Saber, Rhongomyniad as Lancer or Carnwennan as Assassin, she possessed weapons that looked guns. Her armor was very different. It bore some resemblance to her usual armor, but had more of a futuristic feel that she had encountered in the Singularities and Lost Belts involving high technology that Proper Human History early 21st century didn't possess.
King Arthur was about to investigate underneath the outwards appearance of her new weapon and armor when she noticed that several more abnormalities before her. Normally there would be one summoner, her Master, but she noticed that there were several summoners. That alone wasn't caught King Arthur's attention. She noticed the magic circle and various magical aids used to summon her was very different from what was used to summon a Servant.
Even more things she needed to investigate, but the thing that caught her attention the most was her Master.
"Welcome, HMS King Arthur," said a man in his late twenties that had a striking resemblance to a man that King Arthur had meet across multiple different timelines and parallel worlds. "I am Admiral Shirou Muramasa of the United Nation's Shipgirl's Command. You must be very con-"
The ground and building started to shake. King Arthur instinctively rushed to her Master's side. Her instincts was to project a magical barrier like her Caster self would do with magecraft, but it felt more technologically means had been used.
The magic barrier flashed into existence just in time as rubble that was once the ceiling of the room started to fall down on King Arthur and her Master's position. The debris was small things at first that her magic barrier could easily shrug off with ease. This quickly started to change when heavier and large pieces started to fall as the magic barrier started to strain. Cracks started to form as the shield took damage, but the cracks quickly started to disappear as additional magical energy channeled by King Arthur repaired the damage.
She changed her mind when it seemed like the entire building seemed to fall upon her. Waiting passively was not her style so she called upon the multiple turreted guns attached to what seemed parts of her new armor.
Instinctively she knew what guns were being fired, what their designed targets were and how to use them even when Arturia had never used a gun in her mortal life or any of her times as Servant. Her small guns ranged from the anti-personnel 12.7mm designed to repel boarders and small gunboats to 30mm defense-guns to take out aircraft and missiles. The larger guns started from 150mm for anti-ship warfare to 400mm railguns designed to take out even the most formidable military fortifications.
If anything came close to falling in her position, King Arthur's guns blew them apart to harmless shrapnel or dust that her magic shield could easily handle.
Minutes might have passed, but nothing harmed King Arthur or her Master.
Her guns finally stopped firing, and King Arthur looked around to survey her surroundings. The building that she had been inside must have been large one given how tall what left of the building was still standing. She turned around to survey if there were any survivors, but it was easy to tell no one had survived given the gruesome sight of human remains.
"Argh," groaned 'Shirou' before he started to puke.
King Arthur was about to help her Master when she noticed several pale skinned girls wearing dark clothes appear. She didn't know who these girls were, but their bloodlust and likely connections to the falling debris allowed King Arthur to know they were the enemy.
If they were the enemy, and wanted to kill her Master then there would be no mercy.
The Heroic Spirit Arturia Pendragon merged with a battleship known as HMS King Arthur fired the first shots that created a new chapter of the Abyssal War. A new era where heroes of humanity's past, present and possible futures merged with various warships named in their honor to fight an enemy that wanted nothing more than humanity's extinction.
