Chapter 1
A new chapter
Unknown POV
Isekai
A famous and overused trope in anime. I didn't know what it meant in the beginning as I wasn't fluent in that kind of culture. In my understanding, it was a trope where someone is transported from the modern world to a vastly different world with a cheat skill. The world they get transported to are mostly fantasy settings and their cheat skills are considered OP or overpowered as hell.
Sounds like a bad plot device. The guys who asked about it did give me stinky eyes when I accidentally said that out loud.
(P.S. - it's still a bad plot device even after I read some of its famous works.)
So it was a great surprise when over 20, 000 people found themselves in this kind of situation. I'm one of these unlucky souls.
It happened so suddenly. I don't remember what happened. I don't have amnesia mind you but I have no memory of how it happened. It's just a huge blank in my memory and then I find myself in this grassland filled with a lot of people. Like a lot.
I would later find out we were 20,000 in total. That's how many people got spirited away from our home world, not like we know it at the time.
Naturally, people panicked. The who's, whys, and where's are thrown around in a capacity of chaotic people screaming for answers.
And then the first sign of us not being in our world showed when a screaming lady accidentally lit up the grass around her on fire.
The first guy who shouted "WITCH" got smacked around for an hour. Time and place, my guy.
That's when we noticed the changes. Physical changes. I found myself in disbelief as I looked at my body.
I was a thin small girl, okay. When Dad left us for his side girl, we had a hard time. No money means no food. That's why I was so thin as I grew up. Mom managed to recover our financial needs thankfully but I'm still recovering from malnourishment.
But now I looked as if I never suffered malnourishment. My hands went all over my body, touching all the body fats that I hoped to gain and now it's here. If I had a mirror right now, I would look like an average red-headed girl. I major contrast to my sickly thin self.
My clothes had also changed. It was like a stylish white robe with red highlights with slits on the sides to expose my legs. I was wearing a pair of leather gloves and boots and red knee socks.
It was a strange attire at the time but it will grow on me in time.
That's when a few people started pointing out some obscure changes. Turns out we have an "inventory"
Yes, as in an in-game inventory.
Not only did it have the clothes I had listed inside, but it also had a huge load capacity. A total of 1-ton weight limit.
And then I noticed it.
Will Vandel
Age:16
Class: Healer
I'm maybe not a gamer but I'm sure this is my status. Sure enough, everyone had this status as they found out.
A group of young men then stood up for us to follow. Turns out, we have been transported into a game world.
AdventureQuestWorlds, to be more specific.
It was an obscure MMORPG game they say. The reason they had reached this conclusion is that their inventory had all their stuff in the game. It was demonstrated as one of them equipped with full armor made of gold.
The people followed their leadership after that demonstration. They are the players and veterans of this world so they know how to get back to the old world, right?
Wrong.
None of them had any idea how to get back to our world. We are all stuck here.
Someone threw an idea of beating the game to get home and the masses applauded him for his brilliant idea.
The players shut it down immediately.
" This game has no ending"
Those words still haunt my dreams as I write this down.
As an MMORPG, the game had no ending. Not only that, this game is still going strong and getting as much content as it gets older by their claims
The players then started to lead us to find a new place to call home as this world had monsters and many factions that might see us as an enemy.
So onwards we go. An exodus of 20,000 people following a bunch of players. What a sad sight we must be.
First, we arrived at Battleon (weird name) where the players bought as much food and necessities as they could. It was then distributed equally to all 20,000 people which is very hard. Many people had started fights and riots over the supplies to the point they came to blows. Luckily, a player stops it before they hurt each other but in an unexpected way. He threw something shiny in the middle of the brawl which then exploded like a flashbang. The result is a group of temporarily blinded people groaning in pain. The guy then lit himself up like a light bulb (I kid you not) and started to berate the group.
I didn't know at the time that this event would culminate in something terrible.
As we traveled the lands following the lead of the players, I came across a familiar face.
My mom.
All I remember that day was the two of us crying all day, happy to see each other and that we were still together.
When Dad left us, Mom stood up for the two of us. I was still 10 at the time but I understood the hardships mom had put herself in. Having 3 jobs while taking care of a child is hard. I tried helping as much as I could but I was still a child back then.
I love my Mom and I would do anything for her. So when this isekai thing happened, I just went numb. Everything became numb for me. I was just like a barely functioning person as we traveled. I was like a zombie.
Then I found Mom and the dam broke. Both of us.
I remembered her babbling about how she thought she had lost me or something like that. That day's memory is too hazy for me to remember as I had cried that entire day in my Mom's embrace. Luckily, Mr. Martin took care of us as we were both a mess that day.
Our second stop in our travels is Lolosia, a seaside city filled with pirates.
That was the first time I saw real-life pirates and the denizens of this world.
They were not different from us as I have observed them. Their society might be backwards but they are the same as us. Humans.
The players have managed to make a deal with the pirates. The pirates would ferry us across the sea towards the uninhabited southern lands. A perfect place for us to start all over.
And so a massive fleet of pirate ships set sail towards the South. It was the most boring part of our journey as the pirates forbid us from exploring the ship or getting in the way of their crew.
It took us 3 boring days before we arrived on land which I'm happy with.
After paying the pirates, the players then started to work. Using their unique classes and powers which are vastly different from non-players, they started to build a city.
The earth moved and shaped into roads, houses, and buildings. Trees grew at an accelerated rate, immediately bearing fruits for us to eat. These are the few things I saw for 5 days as the players built up a sustainable city from scratch.
By the end of the fifth day, all is done. We now have a big medieval city, big enough to house 20,000 people. The city was complete with water, food, and shelter. Water is drawn from a dam built by the players by erecting a wall of earth to redirect the water toward the city which has a second water dam. Food is grown on vast hectares of land dedicated to fruits and vegetables. Animals are also included like chickens, pigs, and cows which are provided by the pirates. They saw what we had done to the uninhabited land and they were willing to do business with us as long as we provided them with a port. A vastly huger port than Lolosia was then built.
After a month of organizing and evaluating, our lives went back to normal or as normal as it gets.
A government was formed which was divided into divisions.
Agricultural division - takes care of agricultural produce to make sure all of us are fed. Farmers and fishermen are in this group.
Collection division - they collect all natural resources and send them off to the production division. Miners and loggers are found in this group.
Production division - they are the ones in charge of producing products from the collection and agricultural divisions. This group consisted of many factories. Metalworks and glassware are some of the products that help us a lot.
Merchant division - in charge of trading and getting gold (this world's currency) in our new home. It consists of many businesses. From clothing to weapons, they have it.
All of these divisions are ruled by one government which was voted to be a diplomacy. A president was elected 5 months after the city was created and its sustainable system.
President Rob G. Hush is an old geezer of 60 years who was unlucky to be with us and was a mayor of his city back in the original world. He won easily in a landslide as the people supported the elderly man rather than follow the young player who was his opponent.
The first thing he did as President was to make a census of who are the civilians and who are the players.
Result was staggering
4000 players
16,000 civilians
After the results are verified, Hush made his move and it's a big one.
He rallied all the civilians against the players. His reasons:
The players are the reason why we are in this world.
The ignorant masses accepted his reasons and soon rallied with Hush. Not only that the players stronger than them which was suspicious, but they were also afraid of what the players could do. So they followed Hush's crusade against them.
Hush then announced in a long-winded speech which can be summarized in 2 simple sentences.
Players are the devils who ripped us away from home. They must be banished before they lead us to death
After that, chaos ensued. Players are being harassed left and right. Some tried to fight back but these actions only fueled the civilians to exile them. It led to a point where a player was killed in his sleep and his corpse was tied to a stake to be paraded around the city.
It was a cruel act of mankind that I'm ashamed to see.
As the civilians celebrated their so-called win against the players as they paraded the corpse, the counterattack was launched.
Nobody knows what happened that night. I was hiding in our new home with my Mom when the mob started parading the man they killed at the time so I didn't see it.
But all of us saw the aftermath.
The parading mob was slaughtered like pigs. There was nothing left for them to properly identify as they were sliced into tiny pieces like mincemeat.
That incident was called the Full Moon massacre as there were no witnesses, any people close to the incident only saw a huge shadow rolling in to cover the entire mob. When the shadow rolled away, they just saw the aftermath.
Naturally, Hush and his loyal people started to hunt down all players to make them pay. Armed and armored, they started a manhunt for all players.
It was all for naught as all players were gone.
Just one night of massacre allowed them to move out without getting caught.
Furious, Hush made many laws to ban all players from entering the city. He also put up a bounty for all players and revealed all the player names. All player names are still on display in the city hall.
No one had found them.
Life then continued again after Hush's crusade, but trouble always came.
Not soon after a week, the players abandoned our city and the monsters attacked. It was a huge tide of monsters. Me and Mom hid under our basement at the time so I didn't know the details of what happened. We only came out after 5 hours when all the roars and screams ended.
When we got out to see the aftermath, it was devastating. Our house was damaged but thankfully still standing. But our neighbors aren't. When Mom checked on their broken-down house, she screamed. I ran immediately towards her but she came out immediately and stopped me from entering the house.
I knew that time, my neighbors were killed by monsters.
The clean-up was rough but we all managed to stand up again. This might be a setback to all of us but it was a learning experience.
The people who fought back against the monsters found out about what the classes do in our status. They represent what our powers are supposed to be. The classes are divided into 4
Warriors - super strength and durability
Mage - classic magic users like in Harry Potter.
Rogue - speed and agility
Healer - healing powers
That day, many heroes arose. Hush awarded them for their achievements and created a new division.
Heroes division - in charge of defense and policy in the city. They are in charge of culling down the monsters before a huge horde forms again like last time.
Hush had also commissioned huge walls to be built around the city for defense. Without the players' help, it was a hard project and even after 1 year of building it, it's still not halfway done.
A year has passed since we got transported to this world. Many things have changed since then.
Our city has a name now:
Heroes City
Hush has a bad taste in names.
We also now have a school to resume our education. But this is no ordinary school.
This is a school for heroes to train and grow.
Hush has declared that all youth must learn how to harness their abilities and learn not to abuse them. He hoped that the youth would use their newfound powers to be productive members of our newfound society.
Fuck him though,
I'm going to Heroes School to earn money and that's all I need. I don't need an old geezer to tell me what to do, especially if his suspicious fuck.
"Will, time for you to go to bed so quit writing in your new diary and go to sleep. You have a big day tomorrow" I winced from my Mom's voice downstairs. Motherly instincts are scary.
"Okay, Mom" I answered back to her.
I closed the newly bought diary and lay down on my bed.
Tomorrow, I'm going to Heroes School.
"And when I become part of the healing corps, Mom would no longer need to work."
I said to myself as I drifted away to sleep

Warlic's notes
To this day, no one knows how 20,000 people got transported from a different world to Lore. this mystery still baffles me and my colleague as to how it happened or who is the cause of it. Luckily, these people manage to build their civilization down south where no one can bother them. Their city was called Heroes City and their advanced techniques in science fascinated me. Unfortunately, they don't allow outsiders. Even the pirates trading with them are limited to the port side of the city and not allowed to enter the main city.
But luck is at my side.
I meet up with a group of unknown but powerful mages on one of my errands. When their origins are revealed, I'm ecstatic. They came from Heroes City. When I inquired about their advanced sciences and powerful magic, they happily entertained me. To this day, I am still in contact with the group as they travel all over Lore which was confusing.
It's as if they are looking for something or someone.

AUTHORS NOTES
AQW is an obscure flash game back in 2008. It was a beginner MMORPG per se. Filled with a huge storyline with a huge amount of puns and humor. It was my first MMO experience and I am proud to say I'm still playing it. This story was created when I had a huge brain fart as I was farming in the game. So here it is.
For those who are long-time players, you will understand the next bits
Northpointe islands- the last bastion of humanity. The veteran players had decided to lead the civilians to this land because, in the storyline, it was the only safe place left after the cataclysm.
Classes - classes no longer function like in the game. Classes now had a wide range of abilities to tap into based on what they are.
Example;
Lightcasters : all Lightcasters now had the ability to produce and manipulate light like Kizaru from One Piece. They also had the power to channel Arranx power, the Guardian of the Celestial realm, and their patron Arch angel.
Classes also affect the user mentally. An example is the rogue class amplifies a person's greed or it amplifies a person's outlook in life. All classes had this and its effects are unnoticeable until it's too late. It may be good or bad but the mental changes are permanent.
Classes also have egos in them. Like how it affects a person's mentality, they could also directly affect them by sending signals directly to their users. This is like a zanpaktu relationship if you can imagine.
Main class - all people, players or non-players can only have one main class. So no Void Highlord / Legion Revenant hybrid. The classes' egos would clash against one another if there were two main classes.
Class Locked - some classes are locked away for the story
Here is the main list of them
Pay to win classes - no Chronomancers and his ilk, this would be a boring story if that class is here.
Membership classes - some member classes arent available in the story like Doomknights as it will alert Sepulchure of a rogue Doomknight. You don't him on your ass. Paladin class is available though as Artix is pretty open-minded.
Void Highlord - this class came from an order of dimensional demons, what did you expect.
All Legion classes - all Legion classes fall under the direct control of Dage the Evil, a must-avoid threat in Lore. The only exception to this total control is the blade master line class and its final version, Yama No Ronin. Proof of this is Laken, a blade master of Dage's legion who betrayed him in the future and orchestrated his second and permanent death.
Eternal Dragon of Time - this is the GOD of AQW. Thats it.
