I DO NOT OWN BEN 10
Chapter 1
Earth, a beautiful blue and green planet made up of 70% water and 30% land. It was an ordinary rotating planet in the solar system rotating on its axis. It was also the only known planet to hold life in the entire universe. That is until today, because today is the day everything changes for the people of earth.
In the emptiness of space, thousands of miles away from earth, a small hole appeared. It grew bigger and bigger until it was about the size of a suburban house. It had a red outer ring surrounding it and it was sparking with red electricity. The inside wasn't visible because it was pitch black and pushing air out of it. It began to shrink and grow rapidly until it stopped and something flew right out of it, making it shrink until it disappeared.
The object flying through space was a small, dark gray spherical pod made out of metal. It was heading straight towards Earth and it was sparking green electricity. As it entered Earth's atmosphere, it started to build up heat and more green electricity began surrounding the sphere. It wasn't until it entered the mesosphere that the entire sphere was nothing but a giant glowing green ball that would've looked like a green shooting star to those on the ground. What happened next was what made the onlookers second guess their assumption.
That bright glowing green sphere in the sky exploded into hundreds of thousands of green lasers that shot out in all directions. From the ground, it looked like thousands of green shooting stars flying everywhere, some farther away while others moved closer together like a couple moving in the same direction as the sphere. The sphere divided closer to the ground until it went through the clouds and a city appeared. While those few lights landed in the city, the sphere landed in the woods outside the city.
Several trees were broken and knocked over from the impact of the sphere, which made a crater leaving a trail on impact. Animals that were nearby started to move closer to the crash, luckily they moved away before the impact could hurt them. Some of them stalked closer to the sphere, interested in the new unknown object. They all jumped away when the sphere opened up, what was inside wasn't visible since there was so much smoke around the sphere. What made them all scatter was what shot out of the sphere. With a loud pop, ten objects shot out of the sphere in all directions and landed in different areas of the woods. The closest one to the open sphere looks like a very big wristwatch, primarily black and gray in color, with a gray dial in the middle (like a watch face) which has a green hourglass shape.
After lying on the ground for a minute, the watch began to start beeping and the hourglass switched from red to green rapidly. The beeping was getting louder and the watch had red and green electricity surrounding it. The beeping finally died down and the watch burst into a bright green light, which also happened in nine other areas of the woods. When the light died down, where the watch was lying was a person. This wasn't a human, but instead it was a plasma-based life-form whose body was composed of a super hot inner plasma body covered by dark reddish brown volcanic rocks. Their body radiated high amounts of heat, feet were a slight oval-like design with only two toes and one back toe. Their collarbone resembles a volcano which generated a fiery "hair" that covers the head, leaving their mask-like face visible with no nose or ears. In the center of their chest was the same hourglass symbol, looking like a badge.
The Fiery Being slowly opened his eyes, groaning as he regained consciousness. He sat up and rubbed his eyes, or at least the open fiery sockets where eyes should be. He looked around and didn't recognize anything around him. He then looked down at himself and didn't see anything broken or any injuries of any kind, so that was good. He finally pushes himself off the ground and stands up.
"Hello." The Fire Being yelled out, finding his voice strange. He kept looking around to try and find something. "Is anyone out there? Anyone?"
The Fire Being heard a snap, making him jump and turn in that direction, what he saw caught him by surprise. Walking into the clearing was a ten foot tall muscular red being with two pairs of four-fingered arms, and no hair. A black stripe goes from his chin to his lower lip, and he had four orange eyes: a main pair and a smaller pair below them, and no ears or nose. He had whisker-like spikes on each forearm. He wore a white T-shirt with a black line going down it, black pants, and fingerless gloves. He had the same symbol on his upper left shoulder as the Fire Being.
The Fire Being eyes widened at the red behemoth, who was rubbing the back of his head with one of his hands, still hadn't noticed him. The Red Giant finally looked up and locked eyes with the Fire Being and froze, eyes widened. Both of them stood still for a while not taking their eyes off of each other, until finally the red giant got into a fighting stance which made the Fire Being to do the same.
"Who're you?" The Fire Being asked.
"Who're you?" The Red Giant asked back.
"Where are we?
"You tell me." The Red Giant glanced down, not letting go of his stance. "What's that on your chest?"
The Fire Being was confused then looked down at his chest, finally noticing the hourglass. He found this weird for two reasons, one because it wasn't on fire like the rest of him and two because it was made out of metal while the rest of him was made of rock.
"I don't know, but you have one on your shoulder."
The red giant looked at his shoulder and confirmed what the Fire Being said.
"Ok, guess I do. So what's going on?"
"I don't know that either." He turned his head, hearing buzzing further away. "Do you hear that?"
The Red Giant frowned, then also heard the buzzing noise as it got loud. Both of them looked to the left of the sphere, knowing that whatever was making the noise was getting closer. The noise was now followed by screaming and howling. Both of them were alarmed by this and dropped their fighting stances, growing timid by the second.
"HELLLLLPP!" A voice yelled. Finally, something broke out running towards them, or someone. Flying through the air was a four legged insectoid with two arms, three-clawed fingerless glove-like hands and the hourglass symbol on his forehead. It had four yellowish-orange small eyes on long prehensile stalks connected to his large head. On his back were two very thin light lime dragon-like wings with veins running through them, and brown-greenish color limbs. It was wearing a white sleeveless jumpsuit with black lining which covered most of his body including his head and tail.
However, that wasn't the issue right now. The issue was what was chasing the insectoid, the thing that made the howling. Chasing the insectoid was a large orange dog-like creature with no eyes, ears, nose, or tail. It wore a black-and-white brace with the hourglass symbol on his left shoulder. It ran on all fours in apelike movements, teeth very defined with bottom jaw sticks out of his mouth, and various spines found all across his body similarly to whiskers.
The Insectoid flew past the two in fear, hiding behind the Fire Being. This caught the two of them off guard, allowing the Orange Mutt to tackle the Red Giant to the ground. The Mutt tried to bite at the Giant, but the Giant tossed it off and to the ground next to him. Before it could get up, the Giant got on top of it and wrestled it into the ground so the Mutt was lying on his chest. He used two of his arms to put the mutt in a chokehold while his lower arms restrained the Mutt's front legs.
Both the Fire Being and the insectoid watched as the orange mutt's resistance decreased and it slowed down its struggle. Before the Orange Mutt passed out, the red giant let go and got off the creature. The Red Giant joined the pair and the three of them watched as the Mutt slowly got back up, coughing from trying to regain air.
"What is that thing?" The Fire Being asked, glancing at the insectoid over his shoulder.
"I don't know." The Insectoid spoke in a nasal voice. "I woke up further away from here and found him lying on the ground. I tried petting and shaking him and when he woke, he tried to bite me. I flew and he chased me to you two."
The Insectoid noticed their badges and looked happy.
"Hey, you two have the same symbol as me. Are we a part of some club or something?"
"If we are, then he must be too." The Red Giant pointed at the Orange Mutt. The Fire Being and Insectoid looked where he was pointing and saw the hourglass symbol on his shoulder.
"Then, why would he attack me if we're on the same side?" The insectoid asked, eyeing the orange mutt.
"Because he doesn't remember anything about himself." A new voice spoke. The three of them turned to the source, the Orange Mutt turned his head in fatigue. Coming out of the woods was a silicon-based life form composed entirely of pale green/blue diamond-like crystals. He sports four crystal shards on his back and has a sharp head. He had yellow eyes and wore a sleeveless uniform that was black on the right half and white on the left with a black patch on the left shoulder where the hourglass symbol was.
He held out his left palm showing he had someone lying in his hand, a small someone. In his hand was a six inch tall gray-skinned, bipedal frog-like being. It was wearing a white jumpsuit with a thin vertical black stripe down the front, his forehead had a larger version of the jumpsuit's stripe. Right now, it was unconscious and from a distance it was hard for the three to tell if the frog was dead or alive.
"Uh, who are-" The Insectoid stopped when the Diamond Being raised his hand.
"I assume you've all asked that question already. So I'm going to ask a different question, what are your name's?"
The three of them thought it would be easy to answer, but when they opened their mouths they stopped themselves. They tried to think but none of them could answer, this made them worried, confused, sad, and scared all at once. How could they forget their own names?
"No idea, huh. Alright, new question, do any of you remember anything before waking up here?"
Once again, their eyes widened because they tried to think about it and nothing was coming to them. This made the Diamond Being chuckle without seeing the humor in this.
"Glad I'm not the only on."
"WHAT IS GOING ON?!" The Insectoid yelled.
"I'm still trying to figure that out as well." The Diamond Being looked above all the trees and then scanned his surroundings. "Until then we need to gather as much information as possible."
The Diamond Being pointed at the insectoid, still in distress.
"Since you're the only one that can fly, you'll be able to cover more ground than us. I want you to go up higher and see how big this forest is, how far from civilization we are, and if there's anyone else here with us. In the meantime, the rest of us should search these woods to see if there are others like us and bring them back here."
"Woah, woah, woah. Wait a minute." The Insectoid held his hand up to stop the conversation. "Why should we listen to you? Just because you have that same symbol on your chest doesn't mean we can trust you. I mean, how do we know you won't attack us like that mutt?"
The others looked over to the Orange Mutt, seeing him docile and bowing his head. The Red Giant approached the Orange Mutt kneeling down in front of it and held out one of his hands. The Orange Mutt slowly approached his hand, sniffing it as he walked. The Red Giant then noticed the gills on the creature's neck, not understanding what they were for. The Orange Mutt stopped sniffing the open palm and started licking. The Red Giant laughed at this and pet him with his other hands, which the mutt responded happily. The Diamond Being turned back to the others.
"If that thing can learn that you're not the enemy, then can't the rest of you do the same with me?" He walked towards them slowly. "Look I don't know why this is happening or who did this to us, but I promise I mean no harm. I just want to figure all this out as much as the rest of you, so I'm asking you to at least give me a chance."
The four of them looked at the Diamond Being as he approached them. They didn't detect any maliciousness from his actions or words so they decided to let their guards down. The Insectoid started moving his wings and hovered off the ground.
"I'll meet you all back here." The Diamond Being nodded at the Insectoid, who nodded back. He waved by and took off into the sky, above the trees and out of sight from the ones on the ground. The others watched him leave, then the Diamond Being turned to the others.
"Alright, let's go." The Diamond Being turned and started walking back the way he came, the others followed behind.
Further in the woods, there were sounds of rustling and twigs snapping at a quick rate. Stepping out and wheezing was what looked like an alligator, an eel, a leech, an anglerfish, and a shark merged into one. Its body was mostly gray, covered in protective scales and had four-fingered hands, multiple gills and an antenna on its head. Around its waist was a long black loincloth with four lines with tips that were almost touching the ground. Finally, the hourglass symbol was on a black patch over his left pectoral.
It used its left hand to lean on a tree while the other was on its neck. It was getting harder and harder to breathe, the Aquatic Being felt like they've been running for an hour. It had no idea what was happening and it didn't care at this point, there was only one thing on its mind.
"Water." The Aquatic Being wheezed out. He's been trying so hard to find water, but so far no luck. He was so out of breath, he felt like he could pass out any second. It wasn't until his vision became blurry that he collapsed on his chest. Groaning, he used all the strength he had to roll over on his back, lying his arms out. He stared up at the sky, taking notice of all the trees around him and he started to imagine the top of the trees actually touching the sky.
Lying on the ground and staring up, he couldn't help but think that this was such a cruel way to die. Stranded in these woods, alone, with no memory of anything at all, not even his own name, and not a drop of water. A normal person would probably freak out in a crisis like this, but he was just too weak to even bother trying. He was beginning to see spots and everything was starting to turn to white, so he slowly closed his eyes and prepared for the end. But that never happened.
The Aquatic Being had no idea how, but one minute he was dying in the middle of the forest and the next he felt a great rush and his whole body was in water. He gasped for breath inside the river, glad to finally be in his natural element. At least he assumed it was, seeing as how he has gills. He felt something different happening to him, he looked down and saw why. His legs and loincloth transformed into a large fishtail with triangular lines, guess this was his natural habitat.
He looked around underwater and smiled at the various sea creatures going past him. He glanced up and saw two figures at the surface, looking down where he was. He assumed they were the ones who brought him here so he swam up to land. When he finally made it, he thought he'd see more just like him, but he was dead wrong.
The two standing over him were not only different from him, but to each other as well. The one on his left resembles a semi-armored velociraptor with black orbs on its feet, a black tail with five blue stripes, and bulky claws on its 3 fingers. It was wearing a black cone-like helmet, showing its blue face, green eyes, black lips, and stripes running under and in between the eyes. It also wears a black bodysuit and turtleneck-like shirt with a white stripe on the center. Finally, on the center of his chest was the same hourglass symbol as himself and the one next to them.
Speaking of which, the one on the right had a tall, gel-like body with a black exterior and green stripes that resemble circuitry all over it. The green circle on their head looked like an eye and had no other facial features so it was hard to tell what it was thinking. Its front torso was white, the hourglass symbol on the center of its chest just like the other two.
The Aquatic Being looked back and forth between the two, not knowing what to expect. That is until the Wheeled Velociraptor spoke.
"It's a good thing I was here huh." He said quickly with a smirk. "I was lightning fast, zooming through the forest, doing this and that. Then I found this globby thing earlier, not much of a talker if I say so, which I kind of do since I do all the talking. I hope you can talk, even though you're a literal fish out of water, maybe fish speak more when they are underwater. Which makes sense because fish would be out of breath, like you were when you were lying out in the open and wheezing. You're lucky I was fast enough to carry you and find water deep enough for you, huh. But I'm getting ahead of myself, are you better now?"
The Aquatic Being was staring at the wheeled velociraptor with a stunned expression. He was muttering so fast, the Aquatic Being was barely able to process anything he said. All the Aquatic Being was able to pick up was that this thing saved him, the walking goop followed him, and now he was asking him a question.
"What?" The Aquatic Being asked, completely lost. This answer made the Wheeled Velociraptor happy.
"So you can speak, and here I was worried I'd be talking to myself. Good to hear another unknown voice. Well not unknown since I met you and can see you, but unknown since I don't know or remember you. Can't remember anything really, no who, what, where, when, or why. What about you, do you remember anything before you got here?"
Once again, the Wheeled Velociraptor muttered so fast, but this time the Aquatic Being was able to pick up on the question. He tried to think of what to say, only to hit a stump. His eyes widened because the Wheeled Velociraptor was right, he couldn't remember anything about himself or anything before he got here.
"Guess we're in the same boat, no pun intended. I'd ask my black, white and green friend here but he can't talk. Even if he could, he clearly doesn't remember either. Such a shame." The Wheeled Velociraptor lowered his head and shook it, the Gel-like Goo copied him.
"Um, thanks for saving my life by the way." The Aquatic Being finally said.
"Of course, of course. What are badge brothers for?" The Wheeled Velociraptor said proudly, tapping the chest badge with one of his claws.
"So what should we do next?"
"I'd attempt to carry the two of you on my back and race you somewhere, but I don't have that kind of muscle mass. I'd try running ahead, but someone's got to look out for you two in case something happens to me. So I guess we're walking, I hate walking, but since we are I have to know how long exactly you can breathe on land?"
"I don't know, five minutes, maybe a little longer." The Wheeled Velociraptor frowned from this response.
"Oooo, that's going to be a problem. I still haven't run through all these woods yet, so I don't know how far away we are from a town or city. Plus, I don't have anything to carry water in so it's not like I can splash some on you every minute. So I guess we're staying here until one of us can come up with a plan."
The Aquatic Being wanted to respond, but his attention was drawn towards what was over the wheeled velociraptor's shoulder. Confused by his expression, the Wheeled Velociraptor and the Gel-like Goo turned around and were surprised. Walking towards them were four beings of different shapes and sizes, well five now that the wheeled velociraptor saw an unconscious person in one of their palms. Each of them had the hourglass symbol on their bodies, which the three didn't know if that was good or bad. The Diamond Being stepped forward
"Are you three okay?" He asked them.
"Define okay?" The Wheeled Velociraptor asked.
"Alive, at least." The Fire Being asked.
"Yes, thankfully." The Aquatic Being said. "I don't suppose any of you have your memories."
"I'm afraid not. We sent a scout nearby to gather more information on where we are, but until then we're setting up camp further away. You should come with us." The Diamond Being gestured to the path they came from.
"Uh, he can't," The Wheeled Velociraptor pointed at the Aquatic Being. "He doesn't last that long on land. So unless you've got a huge canister to carry water in, he's not going anywhere."
The Diamond Being scanned the river in front of him. He looked back and forth and suddenly stopped, he had an idea. He handed the Frog-like Being to the Four Armed Giant and walked forward. Once he was up to his waist, he dropped both arms into the water. The others watched, hearing a rumbling and saw crystals like the ones on his body sprout up from the river. More and more grew until it was formed into a giant five foot tub filled with water. The other looked at this creation and at their Diamond Friend in awe.
"How did you do that?" The Fire Being asked, staring at the construct.
"I'm not sure, I just thought about it and I did it." The Diamond Being turned to the Aquatic Being, pointing to the construct. "Alright, get in the tub."
"What?"
"You can't breathe on land for long, well this should help with that."
"But wouldn't it make sense just for all of us to stay here, we'll all need water to drink if we're going to stay here long term?"
"For you maybe, but I can't say the same about him." The Diamond Being gestured to the Fire Being. "Besides, our priority is to find out where we are and how to get home, we can't do that if we stay here. Don't you at least want to know what's out there.
The Aquatic Being held his gaze with the Diamond Being. He sighed and swam towards the construct, jumping into the tub full of water. The Diamond Being turned to the Red Giant and gestured his head towards the tub. The Red Giant nodded and walked into the water as the Diamond Being walked out, handing over the Frog-like Being on the way out. The Red Giant bent down, used the strength from his arms and carried the tub out with him. The Diamond Being led the way back to the clearing, the others following behind.
The Insectoid was flying through the air, deciding to just head straight and see where that took him. He realized this was probably not the smartest idea but he didn't care since he was willing to try anything at this point. His hopes were actually lifting because he thought he heard noises up ahead. Just as he was about to clear the woods, something tackles him in mid-air.
He was too startled and spinning out of control to find out who it was. He tried to stay in the air, but there was so much grabbing and pulling going on that he lost control and started falling. The branches in the trees broke his fall, but he still hit the ground hard. Before he could get the chance to see who his attacker was, his eyes stopped when he saw a family and froze.
The people he was staring at were unlike the others he's seen. They were light skinned, thin, wearing strange clothing, and frozen staring right back at the Insectoid and the unknown attacker. The Insectoid took a chance and waved his hand
"Hello." The Insectoid said.
In response, the smaller ones screamed while the larger ones picked them up and ran as far away as possible. Using this distraction to his advantage, the Insectoid immediately took off in the air without looking back. The moment he was high enough, something grabbed his tail. Without thinking, he used the large stinger on his tail to slash whoever grabbed it. This causes the attacker to let go and yelp, making the Insectoid spin around a lot. Once he stopped, he was finally able to get a good look at his attacker.
Hovering a few feet across from him was a phantom/ghost-like being with a gaseous appearance, claw-like hands, and gray skin with black lines running all over it. The hourglass symbol peeked out of its skin on its lower left chest and it had a pink eye with a black pupil.
"Spooky." The Insectoid said. The Phantom Being glared at him.
"Who are you, why can't I remember anything, what are these?" The Phantom Being said, pointing at the badge on his chest.
"I don't know, same reason I can't remember, and I have no idea." The Insectoid listed. The Phantom Being calmed down a little.
"So where are we?"
"I was just about to find out." The insectoid used two of his eyes to look to his left, the direction where he heard the noise. "I think there might be something close b-"
The Insectoid was speechless, he turned his entire body so all his eyes could confirm what he saw. The Phantom Being was confused so he turned where the Insectoid was looking, which also left him stunned. This was definitely not what they were expecting.
The group on the ground, now eight in total, made it back from the river to the clearing the sphere was in. The Red Giant set the tub down a few feet next to the sphere. The Wheeled Velociraptor rushed around the new area, moving so fast he looked like a blue and black blur to the rest.
"Cool place you got here." He said, rushing next to the Diamond Being. "So now what?"
"We have to wait for our scout to get back." The Diamond Being answered.
Speaking of which, four of the group members heard the familiar sounds of the Insectoids wing beat. The entire group looked up and saw the Insectoid above the trees. He was coming down and everyone saw he was not alone. Landing next to him was some kind of ghost with the same hourglass symbol as the rest of them. The Wheeled Velociraptor and the Aquatic Being sniffed and had looks of disgust on their faces.
"What is that smell?" The Aquatic Being said. The other didn't know why they never noticed before, but they finally could smell the stench coming off the bug. The only ones not bothered were the Fire Being, Diamond Being, Gel-like Goo, Phantom Being, and still unconscious Frog-like Being.
"Nevermind that. What did you find?" The Diamond Being asked the Insectoid.
"Follow us." The Insectoid and Phantom Being hovered off the ground and gestured for the others to follow. They both lead the way with the other following behind
After a while, the two lead them to an open space where the others could see what the flyers found. Once they all finally made it, everyone was stunned by what they saw ahead. It was definitely a city, but it wasn't like any city they were familiar with. Even from a distance, the buildings were very large and thousands of lights shined brightly in the night. Unknown to all of them, this was New York City, the city that never sleeps.
The group's attention was drawn away when they heard a groaning. They all looked and saw that the Frog-like Being was waking up in the Diamond Beings palm. It stretched, sat up and rubbed his large green eyes, which have rectangular pupils and horizontal eyelids. Its gaze met the others looking down at it, then looked at the city far away.
"Well, this is unexpected." The Frog-like Being spoke.
Authors Note: So to those of you who are interested in this story, I could use your help.
I want to make this a SYOC story because since the aliens are on Earth, chances are they'll be interacting with a lot of humans, some good, some bad. Either way, I could use your input on the types of people the ten main characters will meet.
In case you haven't caught on, this story takes place in an alternate universe. One where the transformations are no longer transformations, but actual people. I was thinking of doing something similar to Steven Universe if you know what I mean.
Anyway, please PM me some ideas about SYOC humans and I will take it into consideration and mention you in my story.
Thanks,
