My English is not very good and I'm sorry for that.
I do not own Naruto or its characters the credits to its author Masashi Kishimoto
Like I do not own Harry Potter or his world credits to its author J. K. Rowling
Now I want to warn you to use both things from the movies and the books, for example, use the uniforms from the movies.
I don't want to offend any Harry Potter fan, this is my first Crossover and Harry Potter fanfic and if you notice mistakes don't be afraid to let me know.
Chapter 1:
It was a cold winter.
The first time he felt something different from sadness or regret. The village felt cheerful for the first time in two and a half years, amidst the cold that made some parents want to keep their children at home despite the children wanting to stay outside and freeze their noses.
The Third Hokage sat at his desk with a pipe in his mouth when he turned to look out the window. "Mouse," he called, a masked man appeared and knelt in front of his Hokage, awaiting instructions. "He should have arrived by now," Mouse, though curious about what his leader was talking about, didn't interrupt. Taking a sip from his pipe, he removed it from his mouth and exhaled before looking into his ANBU's eyes. "Go find, usually sits by the tree right next to the academy."
The Third Hokage raised a hand and moved two fingers, Mouse took off from the office at the signal. He wouldn't ask questions; if someone was near the academy, he had to bring that person.
As he leapt through the darkness, he could see the light illuminating the village these days, with beautiful blue garlands and congMouseulatory banners for the Third Hokage.
After all, such an important birth after what had happened filled the people with hope. The birth of the Third Hokage's first grandchild.
But Mouse ignored all that and instead quickened his pace, trying to hear people talking, laughing, or crying.
The academy was on the outskirts next to the children's training fields, so it wasn't hard to find the tree.
When Mouse landed, his feet sank into the cold snow, causing him to shiver. Even though the sun was shining, he didn't appreciate any warmth to help him. His long coat wasn't enough to shield him over his ANBU attire.
He stealthily approached where the tree was, hearing the laughter of some children and the chunin giving lessons.
But he didn't find the person under the shade of the tree as his Hokage had said he would be. There were very small footprints around the tree.
He shouldn't have startled when he heard some twigs crack and some leaves fall. His hand had shot to his katana when he finally raised his head, tensing every muscle in his body at the potential threat.
At the top of the tree, on a branch, a little boy sat with a sort of stuffed animal. Mouse wasn't sure if it was a monkey or a cat in his hands. He had short blond hair, bright blue eyes, and three whisker marks on each cheek. He didn't seem to be more than two years old, although Mouse easily knew who the boy was and that he was three years old.
Naruto Uzumaki, who harbored the Nine-Tails... the child the village despised.
He had never seen him in person before, there was a strange detachment about him, like when he let out a big yawn with his tiny mouth, and for a second, Mouse felt the atmosphere change to a warmer one...
The boy lowered his head and looked at Mouse without being startled by his masked figure. He moved the stuffed animal to have it trapped between his arms before using his hands in what could only be... ANBU sign language? Mouse was confused by the fluidity of those small hands.
"Do you seek me?" he asked, clenching his fists.
Mouse was new to ANBU, despite rapidly climbing the ranks among the assassination troops, he wasn't yet accustomed to sign language. When the boy continued to move his hands, Mouse interrupted him. "Hokage-sama requires your presence at the tower."
This did startle the boy. He opened his eyes wide, and the atmosphere felt as if he had flinched. Why had the boy been surprised? But then the boy shook his head in denial before jumping off the branch. Mouse gasped and quickly caught the boy under his arms, lifting him up.
"Don't jump like that!" The boy tensed, letting out a pained whimper that made Mouse realize he had just yelled. The atmosphere changed again, and a gust seemed to want to push him. "I'm sorry for that." Mouse looked at the boy better now. He was wearing shorts and a short-sleeved shirt and seemed too tense in his arms, even though he was closer to the age of a baby than that of a real child.
Although the boy exuded warmth, he was cold, as if he was freezing. Obviously, given how he was dressed, he would end up this way. Mouse adjusted the boy better in his arms and, once he was situated, removed his coat and wrapped the child in it.
When they were ready, Mouse leapt onto the rooftops. He expected to hear screams of confusion or fear from the boy, but instead, he heard small laughs, and at some point, the cold he had felt while moving began to fade.
With each jump, the boy let out a squeal, and with each landing, he giggled. He was having a good time, as if he had never had so much fun before.
The definite "No" came in through the window to make the boy laugh more, and Mouse definitely "No" tightened his hold on the boy because he didn't want to let go.
The Third Hokage turned around, seeing his ANBU leave Naruto on the ground. "Did you have fun, little one?" Mouse blinked between his Hokage and Naruto. The Third Hokage had just referred to Naruto as a girl... Naruto was a girl.
She let out a laugh and nodded vigorously, her cheeks blushing from all the laughter, and she walked toward the Third Hokage. "Then you should thank Mouse, don't you think, Naruto-chan?" the Third Hokage said kindly. Naruto hesitated for a moment, still holding the small stuffed animal in her arms. When she turned to Mouse, her smile faded, and for a moment, her little shoulders tensed.
Naruto had started moving her hands, but then she remembered that the ANBU didn't seem to know sign language very well yet. So, she seemed to think about how to say it, and Mouse patiently waited. "...thank you... Mouse," Naruto said with a little smile. Her voice was adorable, and she sounded sweet, but it was also a bit hoarse, as if she didn't speak often.
The Third Hokage turned to his ANBU. "You can leave now," he said before turning back to Naruto.
She held up the stuffed animal she had in her arms towards the Third Hokage. Mouse barely remembered that Naruto was still wearing his coat when it slipped from her shoulders and fell to the ground. "...for baby Koh," the ANBU heard the little one murmur among her babbling. "Baby Koh?" Surely, she was referring to the Third Hokage's grandson, Konohamaru Sarutobi, who had been born just two days ago, the reason for the village's celebMouseion.
"I'm sure my dear grandson will love the gift, Naruto-chan. How about we go see him now?" the Third Hokage suggested. Naruto let out a little squeal. "Remember, you have to be gentle, or—"
"Baby... gentle," Naruto patted the air and nodded before moving her hands. Mouse didn't understand what the girl was saying in sign language due to the fluency of her movements.
Both the Third Hokage and Naruto left the office. Naruto turned back for a second and waved goodbye before following the Third Hokage.
Mouse hadn't felt this in a long time, but somehow...
He picked up his coat from the ground and turned his head slightly. It was strange; that little girl was strange. She radiated too much... power, in some way.
...
Let's go back to the past to discover what Mouse thought was bright, was truly special... something extraordinary.
Hiruzen Sarutobi couldn't believe what had just happened. Everything had crumbled in a matter of hours. The Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, had died along with his wife Kushina in the attack of the Nine-Tails. Not only had the village been devastated, but there would be months of mourning. Hiruzen had to resume his role as the leader of the village, and somehow, he couldn't remain solemn in front of this tiny person.
In front of him, in a crib, lay what the Fourth Hokage had left behind—his only daughter, Naruto Uzumaki. The baby was barely two days old, her skin a reddish hue, wrapped in white sheets. Hiruzen couldn't help but compare her to her father; she was the spitting image of him.
She had a few tufts of blonde hair, and when the baby opened her eyes, that same blue was revealed. She had a round face with three marks on each cheek and a small mole on her neck that were unique to her, not inherited from her parents.
Hiruzen sighed. What was he going to do now? He wasn't cut out for this anymore. The little baby seemed to sense his unease, as she let out a whimper and made a gesture as if she were about to cry. But... she didn't. Instead, the atmosphere grew warmer, and the Third Hokage could hear what seemed to be a lullaby. Naruto calmed down, her expression softening until she seemed to have fallen back asleep completely.
At that moment, he didn't realize that Naruto was the one causing that change in the atmosphere.
Naruto ended up in the orphanage. He didn't visit her much back then. The village needed him, and he didn't know if he was doing things right or wrong. He had never been sure. They could call him wise or ignorant, loved or hated. Perhaps he could have done much better... Minato could have done much better than him.
When Naruto was about to turn one, Hiruzen went to see her. The old orphanage looked dilapidated, and as he walked, the wood creaked, and he saw paint peeling off.
He heard a scream of terror and saw one of the caretakers rush out, hitting her back against the wall. Her face was horrified, as if she had seen a corpse... a monster.
When she spotted the Third Hokage, her mouth opened as if she wanted to say something, but the words wouldn't come out. Hiruzen didn't ask when he heard loud crying coming from the room. The woman fled in terror. Hiruzen pushed the door open.
The room smelled putrid, as if it had never been cleaned. The crib was in disarray with sharp edges, and...
There was... cotton and fabric floating in the air, recognizable as Naruto's teddy bear as if they were nothing. At that moment, the honorable old Hiruzen Sarutobi could have fled.
But then, he saw the baby in the crib. Naruto was crying with all her being, her tiny body trembling, too small even for her age. She was thin and battered, with visible bruises. Her cheek was red as if she had been slapped.
The old man swallowed before walking over, stretching out an arm to clear away the bits of cotton before reaching Naruto. How dare they?... No, how could he have allowed them to do this?
He picked Naruto up from the crib and gently embraced her, feeling how thin and weak she was. Yet, she continued crying with all her being. "There, there," he cooed, tapping her back gently until she seemed to fall asleep.
The bits of cotton fell to the ground at that moment, leaving everything in a heavy silence. But the atmosphere remained cold.
On that very day, the Third Hokage took Naruto out of the orphanage. He should have thought of this sooner, all that hatred directed at the girl for what she contained... They wouldn't see her as a hero.
He made a decision that he only discussed with his advisors, not seeking an opinion or a vote. He took Naruto to be raised in darkness... with the ANBU until she could take care of herself. Not just because of the hatred, but because of that strange power the girl seemed to possess.
