Hello and welcome to an experimental fanfic of Megami-ryou no Ryoubo-kun, in which a new inspiration popped into my head in an unexpected way, and I'm probably the first fanfic writer to make this fic all of the sudden, even though the manga started way back in 2017…
Well another idea popped into my head a few days ago while listening to my I-pod Touch, where an opening song played which made me look back at a certain anime series that was aired over a decade ago, which began to take off since the year 2000 began. This first aired in my country in the year 2003, which was 13 years ago, via AXN-Asia, where the Singapore-based cable company began airing anime in Japanese audio with English subtitles.
This new fic is inspired from an anime series that was aired about 14 years ago, and that anime in question is Saiyuki. At that time I find this series unique as it tells about a Buddhist monk traveling to the west being accompanied by 3 disciples who were said to be youkai, and the anime was the first of three series that exposed me to that genre (Gensomaden Saiyuki, Saiyuki Reload and Saiyuki Reload-Gunlock). About 8 years later, Wikipedia became online, and there I made a research about the Saiyuki series, where I discovered something about the series:
- the Saiyuki anime is based on the manga created by Kazuya Minekuya
- the manga and anime itself are based on the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West
Six years later, I revisited the Saiyuki entry at wikipedia, then all of the sudden, I recalled watching an American mini-series that was also based on the Chinese novel, the 2001 mini-series The Monkey King, and after researching them, it all fits in, and having enjoyed Gendomaden Saiyuki, I was thinking of doing a fanfic adaptation, and while scrolling the fanfics that I recently made, I had a bit of difficulty on which anime to use with.
With the recent airing of the latest Saiyuki anime, Saiyuki Reload Blast, it was enough for my mind to green-lit in making a fanfic version of the Chinese novel, but ran into some difficulty on who would portray the Journey To The West characters.
But after accidentally reading the manga version of Megami-ryō online, and after reading Chapter 26, which the main character is forced to cosplay an anime character, I finally came up with the inspiration and decided to use the characters though I had to select which character to portray the Journey To The West characters.
And after scrolling the characters, I was able to choose three persons who would fill the role, and this now leaves me on how to start the story, and the setting. After re-watching both The Monkey King and Gensomaden Saiyuki, I decided to do a fusion which would combine the elements of the two series as well as blending the elements of Megami-ryō no Ryōbo-kun…

Ch. 1: Kakusareta eiga
Seikan Private Women's College Student Dormitory: Goddess Dormitory.
It was 19:00, and "dorm mother" Koshi Nagumo had quite a day, as he was able to deliver the bento that served as lunches for Atena Saotome, Mineru Wachi and Kiriya Senshō.
It was revealed that the two elder teen girls left for school but in their haste they accidentally forgot to bring their lunches with them, and Koshi felt compelled to bring it to the girls, but Frey playfully gave a suggestion which he came to regret, as he was forced to cosplay as a girl to SNEAK AROUND Seikan Private Women's College.
Although he initially got in, he encountered some trouble as some university students playfully accosted him and attempted to make a pass on him, fortunately Atena was able to recognize Koshi and bailed him out by telling the other students that Koshi is her younger sister.
After managing to get away, Atena led Koshi to the school gym where Kiriya is and delivered the bento to her and Atena, and things went well until a WARDROBE MALFUNCTION happened and this caused Atena to get a COMICAL NOSEBLEED, and in the end Koshi is able to leave the university safely with Atena and Kiriya.
Back at the present, Koshi sagged as Frey congratulated the younger boy for INFILTRATING Seikan Private Women's College and successfully delivered the bentos to Athena and Kiriya, though he complained that he got into trouble because of the costume she gave him.
"Now, now…you did managed to go UNDERCOVER…"
"Geez, Frey...I almost got busted if not for Athena!"
"But you didn't…and that's what matters…"
"You missed the point here…"
"Huh?"
"Wearing a girl's dress is one thing…but forcing me to wear a girl's underwear…?"
"But look at it this way…your disguise is complete…"
"Gaaahhh!"
As Frey smiled while watching Koshi complaining, she recalled something as she brought out what appeared to be a USB flashdisk and showed it to everyone, saying that she happened to pick it up at the streets while on her way home, and the others came closer as they glanced at the flashdisk, with Atena cautioning that the flashdisk might contain a virus or a malware.
Frey smiled and assured to her that her laptop has the latest version of the antivirus and thus it is safe to use it and said that she wanted to see the content as it might contain elements that might inspire her to make costumes, which made Koshi sweat-drop in apprehension, and Kiriya sighed as she commented that she doesn't want to wear another REVEALING outfit, which Frey playfully rebutted.
"Oh come on…the costumes I made for you during Christmas were a success…"
"But being dressed as a reindeer…"
"My younger brother raised the skirt of my Santa suit…and exposed my panties…!"
"Don't worry…the next costume will be…"
"No."
"Please no."
"Aw…"
"…"
"…"
Koshi then cooked dinner and everyone ate, and after 30 minutes the dorm residents convened at the living room area as Frey brought out her laptop and inserted the flashdisk and after making sure that there is no virus, she check out the contents and saw an MP4 file, which is a video.
The girls blinked their eyes at seeing it and there Frey opened it, which a folder is shown, and out of excitement, Frey opened the folder, where the monitor of the laptop showed the title of the file, which says "JOURNEY TO THE WEST", which most of them wondered what the title suggests, and there Mineru adjusted her eyeglasses, and said that she knows about it, which Koshi asked.
"Eh? You know?"
"Yup."
"Really?"
"Really."
"Could you tell us?"
"Sure."
"Okay."
"Now listen up…"
According to Mineru, she recalled about having a chat with an acquaintance of hers, where she mentioned about the title, and Mineru said that according to her acquaintance, the title is about a classic Chinese novel about a monk traveling to India via west to search for the missing scriptures, and met three yokai along the way and made them his disciples and became a group.
There Atena steps in and said that she is familiar with that plot, stating that the said Chinese novel was quite popular within Southeast Asia and numerous countries made their own televised adaptation, resulting in numerous televised versions on TV and the movies. Koshi blinked his eyes as he never thought that this novel would be that popular to numerous countries.
"Eh? Really?"
"Yes."
"That novel was that popular?"
"Correct."
"I had no idea…"
"Now you know, Koshi-kun."
"Thanks, Atena-san…"
"Sure."
Frey then commented that due to the popularity of the Chinese novel, numerous Japanese media companies bought the rights and had it adapted for the Japanese literature, and was renamed Saiyuki, and told his classmates about the Japanese equivalent of the said characters, where she mentioned the characters of the Japanese adaptation of the novel as:
- Sanzo (the Buddhist priest)
- Hakkai (the pig)
- Gojyo (water kappa)
- Son Goku (monkey king)
After some lecturing from Frey, Koshi and Kiriya were soon familiarized, and became interested in it and tells Frey to open the file, wanting to see if it is a movie or a book of sorts, as they became intrigued to see what it contained, which Frey is pleased as she now has a reason to open the file, and is secretly hoping that it contain some EXCITING scenes that would give her inspiration to make costumes and have Koshi and Kiriya cosplay for her, and there Koshi and Kiriya, along with Mineru, urged Frey to open the file at once.
"Come on, Frey-san!"
"Open the file!"
"It might be a movie…"
"This could be interesting…"
"We want to watch it."
"Could be educational…"
"Open the file, already!"
"Coming, coming…"
Serene Hozumi came down and is intrigued by what is going on, and joined the gang as they saw Frey open the file, and to their surprise, it was a movie file, but upon opening it, it turns out to be in anime form and while playing it, the movie feature a 12-year old version of Sanzo, which made Koshi wondered if that is possible, and there Atena became suspicious and asked Frey where she got the flashdisk.
"Eh?"
"What's with that boy?"
"Is that supposed to be Sanzo?"
"This doesn't look like what we were told…"
"Frey-senpai…"
"Huh?"
"Are you sure this is supposed to be related to Journey To The West...?"
"I'm pretty sure…"
As Mineru calmed Atena down, they proceeded to watch the movie file, and there Koshi, Kiriya and Atena blushed deeply as the next scenes showed that Sanzo met Goku, who looked like a version of Kiriya, and there Goku and Sanzo are seen doing SEXUAL ACTIVITIES.
Atena got a nosebleed while both Koshi and Kiriya blushed deeper as they realize that they just saw a hentai anime file, and the two complained to Frey about this, though Frey reiterated that she has no idea that the flashdisk she picked up contain a hentai file.
"Frey-san!"
"Frey!"
"What?"
"That is…!"
"It's a hentai anime!"
"Don't know…just found the flashdisk on the streets…"
"Seriously?"
"For real?"
Koshi accidentally glanced at the laptop and blushed deeper, as he saw a scene where the female version of Goku, who resembled Kiriya, mounting on top of the 12-year old Sanzo, and is performing a SEX POSITION, and there it showed the characters' SHAVED crotches in FULL VIEW and in FULL DETAIL, and this caused Koshi to accidentally get aroused as he used his hands to cover the crotch area of his shorts.
Kiriya is blushing as her hands also covering the crotch area of her shorts and asked Frey why her likeness was used in that anime, which Atena also pointed out, seeing that the Sanzo in the hentai anime looked almost identical to Koshi.
"Frey-senpai!"
"What?"
"What's with that file?"
"Huh?"
"The Goku character looked like Kiriya-senpai and the Sanzo character is almost identical to Koshi-kun!"
"Well…"
"Are you involved in this?"
"Eh…?"
"Answer me!"
However, the residents' attention was attracted when they caught a whiff of sake and there they saw Mineru opened a bottle of strong sake and she is pouring it on a glass and this caused Atena to try confiscating it reminding the 4th year university student that it is a moral violation and that there is a minor here.
Mineru playfully tried to evade but Atena caught the bottle and the two girls wrestled for custody until the bottle slipped from their hands and it ended up in Serene's mouth,. Causing her to consume 70% of the bottle's content. Koshi and Kiriya stared wide-eyed and went to Serene, trying to rouse her as she appeared to be intoxicated.
"Serene!"
"Serene-san!"
"…"
"Are you okay?"
"Are you feeling okay…?"
"…"
"Serene!"
"Serene-san!"
"…"
Serene appeared to look fine except that she began to hiccup and seemed to wobble, and there Atena berated Mineru for her foolishness but Frey told everyone that they need to relax and urged them to at least finish the episode, and the dorm residents reluctantly did, with Koshi, Kiriya and Atena being the only ones getting flustered after enduring the HENTAI scenes being shown.
After that, everyone went to bed, but 30 minutes later Serene came down and opened the laptop to re-watch the movie file even though she was somewhat drunk, and after that she wobbly went to the rooftop and stared at the sky, tonight is a full moon.
Serene stared intently, and due to being drunk, she unknowingly used her LUNAR ABILITIES and the Goddess Dormitory glowed, as something SUPERNATURAL is taking place, and the dorm residents have no idea what is happening.

By morning, Koshi blinked his eyes as sunlight struck his eyes and he got up, but then he looked around as he noticed that the setting is different and it somewhat looked like it was a different era, and when looking at the mirror, he finds out that he is garbed in a 16th century bed clothing, and as he frantically went out of the bedroom, he stared wide-eyed seeing that there are people here, mostly males and sports SHAVED heads and dressed like temple staff members.
As he looked around, he is startled to see his old preschool teacher, except that she is dressed like a Sanzo priest and tells him that it is time to work inside the temple, which made Koshi feel confused.
"Good morning, Koshi-kun."
"Eh…?"
"Today is the start of a new day…"
"S-sensei…?"
"Come now, Koshi-kun. We have work to do. The temple needs to be cleaned."
"Eh…?"
"Come now…"
"Eh?"

Hope you liked this chapter, as this fic is inspired by the manga's extra chapters, and this is coupled with my revived interest in the Saiyuki anime, hence the fic I written…
Looks like Serene has accidentally did something and Koshi ended up getting separated and finds himself in old-century China…more are on the way…
